About future policy of ZAIF token issued by our company [What is ZAIF token?]
The ZAIF token is a crypto asset that was issued in 2015 for the purpose of improving our recognition and value, and is an indicator of the reputation of the Zaif brand.
Originally, the ZAIF token was issued by Zaif, a cryptocurrency exchange that we operated in the past, as the first cryptocurrency asset that can be traded on a domestic exchange in Japan. The name of the exchange is Zaif, which includes lowercase letters, while the token name is ZAIF, because it is intended to symbolize the Zaif brand, just like the ticker symbol of a stock.
We are still regularly reviewing token maintenance, and as the latest technical improvement plan, we will improve security and liquidity by migrating to the ERC20 protocol by the first quarter of 2021. We anticipate expansion and value improvement.
In addition, since we transferred the crypto asset exchange Zaif to Zaif Co., Ltd. (former name: Fisco Cryptocurrency Exchange Co., Ltd.), in order to increase the value of ZAIF tokens, not only our campaign but also the owner of the Zaif brand Cooperation with is effective. Therefore, through a joint project between our company and Zaif Cryptocurrency Exchange, we are proceeding with discussions and discussions with the other party in order to improve its liquidity and profits of existing holders.
As a result, by taking advantage of the situation where the token name issued by our company and the trademark of the crypto asset exchange operated by another company match, which seems to be a conflict of interest, we have the achievements and future potential of both parties. We would like to help protect the profits of token holders.
[Future direction]
We will promote the adoption as a payment method for the purpose of improving the profits of existing token holders. For that reason, we are consulting on the Zaif crypto asset exchange for easy trading and ZAIF token settlement service support.
By increasing the utility, or usability, through payments, we can expect to increase the liquidity and value of ZAIF tokens. In addition, by considering distribution in a joint campaign with our company and Zaif crypto asset exchange, tokens will circulate and contribute to the improvement of talk value in conjunction with the brand value of both, and as a result, existing We believe that it will lead to an increase in the profits of token holders.
[Schedule by 2021]
What we should avoid is to damage the profits of existing holders. Since ZAIF tokens already have more than 180,000 holders inside and outside the Zaif crypto asset exchange, the stagnation of distribution could be a serious situation that directly leads to credit damage to the entire industry. not.
About 180,000 people inside the Zaif exchange, about 5.2 billion yen, about 820 million yen Outside the Zaif exchange, about 550 people, about 130 million sheets, about 20.53 million yen (according to our research on November 2, 2020)
To that end, by striving to continue the distribution of ZAIF tokens, we will be the most recognized token issued by companies in Japan, and although it will be operated by other companies, Zaif Brand is well known in the industry. As a token that symbolizes, we will contribute to the spread of crypto assets as a whole.
We also plan to move to the ERC20 protocol on Ethereum by the first quarter of 2021 to avoid the risk of the unstable Counterparty protocol, which has been talked about in recent years. As a result, as seen in the precedent for migrating to the protocol, we believe that the number of compatible applications and Web services will increase, the distribution and liquidity of ZAIF tokens will increase, and at the same time, the value will increase. We are doing it. -
We will continue to distribute and use ZAIF tokens in various campaigns with the aim of further improving the liquidity of ZAIF tokens, and continue to distribute them as the only cryptocurrency asset symbolizing a specific registered exchange in Japan. We will strive to improve the profits of affiliated companies, the affiliated Zaif crypto asset exchange, and token holders, and to improve the value of the crypto asset industry as a whole.

You need to either have your 12-word passphrase written down, or you need to be able to open up freewallet and dump your 12-word passphrase. If you didn't write down the passphrase, then unfortunately there is no way to recover the wallet. 🙁
-
-
-
Yes, the wallet is protected by a PIN # if you entered it.... will also need to remember the PIN # before you can access teh passphrase... yup, hope ya find the seed 🙂
-
-
hrm... you sure it is counterparty related seed?
-
Perhaps tokenly pockets? ... was a wallet for a while, believe they did seeds a bit different than counterwallet... also used a different derivation path I believe....but thought that it was BIP39
-
-
Yes, you can sell your counterparty asset through the DEX for any other asset including BTC, or by setting up a dispenser to sell the asset for only BTC
-
Currently in the middle of a full parse of all counterparty data from scratch... so Coindaddy Counterparty API is down for now (freewallet wont generate transactions) .... once the full parse is completed, the API should come back up and all should work much faster.
-
👊
-
How long should that take? I'm looking to sell for btc only. Which in that case would be preferable?
-
Prolly another couple days of parsing
-
-
Chugging along.... we haven't had to do a full parse like this in 3+ years... unfortunately, it takes a while to rebuild all the CP database from parsing in all the transactions
-
-
All counterparty is effected, including testnet which is also doing a reparse. Why is this parse necessary? because we were starting to get issues with the reparse (faster option, not a complete rebuild)... has to do with the transaction ordering being slightly different in a couple transaction and some hashes not matching up.... so, doing a full reparse now to ensure we are dealing with a clean database instance/data.... None of the end-users or fednode users will have to do this multi-day parse process again..... We are doing the full parse, so we can update the counterparty bootstrap image with known good data... and then people can just download the bootstrap data automatically when they install Counterparty... skipping the multi-day parse which would normally be required
-
-
-
-
Companies or projects that want to use Counterparty could spin up their own Counterparty fednode so that they could use their own instance of CP to lookup data and generate transactions.... for instance spells of genesis, exchanges, etc.... Removes the depedency on a 3rd party service like coindaddy to run an API.
-
can confirm
-
Gotcha, nice.
-
-
the bootstrap is just the counterparty sqlite database which has parsed in all transaction history. If there was no bootstrap, then everyone who wanted to run Counterparty would need to do what we are doing now, parse all transactions from the beginning of time, in order to build out their database.... By downloading the bootstrap image, you download the past 6 years of transaction history in one big chunk and it takes minutes to download instead of days/weeks to parse 🙂

That's dope! 🔥
-
What would be cool is an official CP developer coin you get from a dispenser in return for donating to CP.
1. It’s like a badge of honor or receipt for donating.
2. Developers could give these holders specific access or powers in apps for holding them as a show of thankfullness -

Wow, is this typically how long it would take a developer to setup heir own CP node?
-

-

-
-
Yes full parse is still running. Yes every developer would have to do this full parse on every node if we did not have the bootstrap. Still a few more days left on the parse... it takes about 3-5 seconds to process per block, got a couple hundred thousand more blocks to get through :(
-
-
been 3+ years since we did a full parse... now I remember why, it is painfully slow to do a full sync... thank goodness I'm the only one who has to do the full parse, but yeah, its dragging on... eager for it to hurry up and finish parsing.... testnet is up and running great on addrindexrs... mainnet will do the same when the full parse fninishes
-
-
-
difference is bootstrap has all counterparty data/transactions from the past 6 years all ready to download in one 5 gig database file.... vs full parse needs to download every block directly from bitcoind and scan for CP transactions, then download transaction details, parse, insert data into CP database, etc.
-
side-note: If the community had funds to support multiple CP servers, we wouldn't have this downtime, as we would have a second server we could keep the API up while doing the full parse (as I have done in the past). Unfortunately the hosting costs fall on myself the past few years, so we are now down to a single server and CP API, hence the downtime during a full parse
-
I will launch one if it is updated like you said the last time (new thing with db, python version to date, ...)
-
Launching one at this point won't help with this downtime... but once we are back up and the bootstrap is done perhaps... lots of updates coming in this new CP release.... still have to test fednode on Ubuntu 20... still running 18 LTS here

Nope, shouldn't be that long... about 150K blocks left, parsing going a bit faster now, about 0-5 seconds per block
-
-
yes, still a few days... as I said, blocks going faster than 5 seconds, so should be done faster.
-
😃👍
-
can't wait to show the team
-
yeah, unfortunately most of the time spent on block parsing is either communication of the block data between counterparty and the bitcoin daemon or database writing to disk
-
so pretty hard to make it faster besides having a faster disk (and current servers are SSDs sooo....)

-
you can get massive gains.... who's gonna fund the server costs tho?
-
-
-
Lol
-
-
-
-
You can create a token and issue supply at the same time... but you can not issue supply until after the token is registered
-
-
Oh it's coming
-
It's surprising how many ppl didn't know about CP and how easy it is to tokenize using the platform.
-
From my understanding, if I have 1000 units of a token, and I want to sell 100 of them for 0.1 btc each, I create a dispenser with an escrow of 100 units a give amount of 1 and a btc amount of 0.1 . Thus not having to create a separate transaction on my side for each token unit distributed. Correct?
-
Basically, if I wanted to sell a large volume of tokens I just need to advertise a single BTC address and all purchasers send BTC to that address and get tokens accordingly (per the exchange rate I defined at the creation of the dispenser). Yes? Also, no problem with reusing addresses?
-
via dispenser yes
-
with this i'll have to go back in and do it again to see if your math would be correct in this or an admin would be able to speak on it
-
That's what I did with this dispenser: https://testnet.xchain.io/tx/b4c16de13319a6e7ba573e9aa5f53d4d1f444698658919b08082a87921921693
-
-
-
right on
-
-
it works the same way
-
i was with you until, "each token unit distributed."
you can have a dispenser send the same number of two different tokens for one payment.
you cannot have two prices of the same named token in the same address/dispenser.
you should have no problems setting up the dispenser and address it is at. Advertising the address will point to the same/new/additional dispensers to activate on payment.
Therefore, to use other other words, you can refill the dispenser or make a new one with a different price of the same asset or an adjacent one that is simultaneous and still have confidence to advertise the address as your store via social media or even print. -
good morning
-
-
I meant that it's "fire and forget" once the dispenser is created: I don't pay a tx fee every time a token is purchased from the dispenser - the purchaser's tx fee covers the btc transfer to the dispenser and the fee for the transfer of tokens from the dispenser to his/her address
-
Cool. Good luck with that. I see you're on mainnet
-
-
Yes correct.
-
yeah i'm trying to make it work
-
I wrote this up on dispensers. https://www.xprotectx.com/post/bitcoin-dispensers-on-counterparty
-
anyone know if can tokenize now or is it affected by the parsing thing?
-

There is a parsing job running on the Counterparty server. once it is finished I'm sure the developer JDog will announce it here.

when its closed

when everything is sold
-
-
should be an api between xchain or coindaddy
-
-
Yes, I want the whole box as it's displayed on xchain so that if/when the dispenser runs out my visitors will know
-
-
they need to know if the dispenser is empty
-
have to create a new one
-
idea for @jdogresorg
-
The xchain dispenser page indicates what BTC amount to send to the dispenser to get it to vend... also I display if the dispenser is closed xchain... all the data on xchain is pulled via the APIs, so you could pretty easily look at the source code of a dispensers page and see how I do the qrcode and pull the dispenser transaction data..
-
No, I don't want people embedding stuff from my site into theirs.... slippery slope... customize this, make the embedded thing do that... APIs are available to pull CP data and you can do whatever you would like with the CP data 🙂
-
that's dope

Dig into the source code for any dispenser page and it should give ya what you need 🙂

1.) We announce new releases when they are ready and the announcement is sent out in a newsletter to exchanges and over 4000 email addresses
-
2.) I am actively working on the server right now, which is why your seeing some downtime
-
3.) There is a private exchange chat that exchanges are in if they have any questions
-
Appreciate the info on Zaif, but right now priority is getting the node up... not reaching out to Zaif... they will be contacted when it is appropriate AFTER we have a working release they can update to... also, to once again clarify, COUNTERPARTY is not down, one single node is down.... unfortunately that node is the one that almost everyone uses, including xchain, but Counterparty is working fine, just not able to view transactions right now due to parsing issues... about 50K more blocks to parse 🙂
-
😵
-
That's huge
-
Of course. And I appreciate knowing what is going on with Zaif as well 🙂
-
The email is sent AFTER we put out a release
-
we have not put out a release yet, so no, they have not been made aware yet
-
All exchanges that we have had an integration with have a rep in the room, so yes.
-
Also... this is not "planned downtime".... a couple weeks ago Counterparty was having major issues due to huge mempool (120K+ pending transcations)... after a few days of this John and I decide it would be a good time to roll out the new release to resolve some of these issues... during testing of that rollout, it required a reparse (happens anytime a version is bumped)... the reparse failed due to the ordering in an MPMA transaction being slightly different in the bootstrap version than the parsed version... this required a full parse to rebuild the CP data from known good data... THAT is how we got to where we are.
-
This was not planned downtime. We have not out out any release announcement yet. Only Coindaddy CP API is down, and xchain which uses it is down.... all other CP nodes are operating fine, including the one Zaif is using to generate transactions, etc.
-
Again, we have backchannels setup if they have any issues or want to reach out to us.
-
No
-
I can't speak to what is going on on the Zaif CP node, and our time would not be spent well working on that, instead our time is best spent focusing on getting a new release out the door which they can upgrade to, which is what we are doing.
-
Once the bootstrap is finished parsing, we will do some additional testing and put out an announcement
-
if you want to reach out to Zaif on your own, feel free, but our time is better spent working on the problem, not worrying about one exchange.
-
I hear your concern. Please re-read what I have said. If you want to reach out to them on your own, feel free. We have provided backchannels for them to get in contact with us if they have any issues, they have not reached out at all. If you want to reach out to them and tell them to contact us if they have any issues, please feel free. My time and energy is being spent on development, not managing Zaif contacts and their perception of CP.
-
A new release will be forthcoming soon.
-
Yes
-
That's excellent
-
I wish so as well, which is why I called for a foundation election over a year ago... so that the foundation could focus on getting their arms around the CP marketing and handle organizing the community behind exchange integrations, etc..... so that I could stop having the same annoying "why are't we on X exchange" conversations :P
-
Sleep well friend 🙂
-
I'm actually glad it's not at the moment so I have time to build my network first
-
-
But I won't be mad if it does before either
-
Sorry for being a grumpy bastard at times.... its early here, we are talking about my *favorite* topic, exchanges... and I haven't had my starbucks yet... pls forgive any rudeness 🙂
-
-
A lot of us would be very rich if XCP didn’t exist 😆
But I still believe XCP time will come so I’m not salty about it. -
Low price is an incredible opp for community members and developers to buy in at.
But the price is deceiving; $1.23 is not the price. There is literally no liquidity. I wouldn’t sell any of my XCP under $20.
How many people even still have the keys to their XCP? And at what price are willing to move it? - 13 November 2020 (20 messages)
-
i know.... if they asked about it, i could clarify.... but somehow the monaparty devs haven't contacted me...
-

Just made a fix to the main server
-
Seems parsing will end this weekend now
-
-
-
Back-story: Parsing slowed way way WAY down today, 300+ seconds per block... after watching it most of the day, John dug into the issue and made a fix which greatly improved the parsing down to 1-3 seconds to parse a block again 🙂

good morning

Scanned through the network and some github code for different projects, is the CP connected to ripple in some way or another coin? (not counting the tech for the smart contract from ETH )

Connected as in any form of link cause I don't see why I should be in there code.

I know it's on the bitcoin blockchain I guess my question is misunderstood

How often will token images update, and where do you all sweep to pull it together?
-
I have a script which runs once a day... it runs through all assets and parses in the description for any JSON files... then parses any valid enhanced asset info JSON and converts the "image" into a 48x48 icon..... The other way to get your asset icon on xchain is to login to coindaddy.io.... I allow users who have proven they own an asset to edit the asset icon at no cost.

-
Dam pepe the frog 🐸 you there
-
Awesome how is everything
-
You still remember
-
-
Yes I believe good time was there 😅
-
-
Anyone can create a token, the thing is, how to make it reliable (1 wrapped xcp = 1 real xcp locked)
-
-
-
-
Burning it would be the only sec compliant way where you wouldn’t get in trouble. Has no real use on ETH besides trading activities.
-
Trading is a use in itself, good way to get some traction
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
Seems like the use case is to pay four times the transaction fee
-
-
Lol
-
I believe it will be
-
Lmao
-
It would cost more, but it can reach a lot more people
-
-
-
What if the Dex had 3milluon more users would that spice things up a bit?
-
Million*
-
That's a very interesting point. It's a question of utility though. XCP is no longer btc the currency but rather btc the blockchain. Also, all I need is 0.5 xcp and I can launch my own currency, unlimited in supply and highly divisible.
What argument is there for xcp price to be higher than it is now? -
How would you do it?
-
I agree. But I have zero idea how to do that without someone being a custodian.
-
I think a lot of people would believe in the importance of XCP and would want to hold an easier way.
-
Currently working on a project and got a country to agree to use it as payment. 🤷🏾♂️
-
What country is this?
-
Now I guess I need to built a few nodes to for each country I put on
-
Let's just say it has 11 million ppl
-
And they are excited to use the crypto as currency
-
But I'm conservatively saying 3 million
-
I think we will need some custodians
-
-
Seems like self contradictory statement to me.
-
It's an awareness thing
-
Interesting tone you have, stating the obvious but not realizing how incomplete it is
Dispensers seem to be working great. There's always otc
Don't get me wrong. I am not boo hooing an exchange or innovation but eth wrap in my opinion is neither. -
-
-
-
No offense intended but this logic is similar to people who want to buy Bitcoin now that it's expensive while ignoring the opportunities when it was a fraction of the cost.
Buy low, sell high. Buy on rumor sell on news. This boat has already sailed
It makes more sense to me to situate ourselves with a complimentary project who can scale and is currently underappreciated. Perhaps a project who has a track record as long as counterparty's...
Imho people use counterparty because they don't believe in ethereum. So it doesn't make any sense to work backwards -
-
Lot of people just don't know about Counterparty
-
-
-
-
Sure
-
-
-
Yupppp. That’s what awesome about it.
-
You can do anything you with your XCP tokens. Freedom.
But I don’t think wrapped XCP is bad. It would bring more awareness, create greater liquidity, and allow other users the ability to be part of the community, even if it is just holding some xcp.
This is what intrigues me most about the current price. It really allows developers to buy into the protocol where they could really benefit from not just their own project, but the appreciation of the value of what they build upon. -
-
👍
-
I'm from BitShares and we are reviving the oldest cryptoindex project - BitTwenty (bittwenty.com) that ranks the top 20 coins by market cap. Interesting fact: XCP was included in the first iteration of this index (top 5!). Also we use counterparty tools to hash the composition files to ensure they are tamper evident.
-
I would like to see a DEX portal between XCP <—> BTS and think it can benefit both platforms. BitShares even has a stablecoin pegged to JPY - which may catch some users interest as the Zaif pairing has JPY as well. The opportunity for arbitrage will ensure the market price reflected there is accurate.
-
Could you get this done? What would you need from CP to be able to do this?
-
I had a developer poke through XCP github. I quote - "nice python wrapper for their api".
-
Yes the portal/gateway is feasible. The development cost is 0.2 BTC with 0.02 BTC as down payment and 0.18 upon delivery. The deposits/withdrawals will be automatic. What little upkeep required is up to community but seems like something a Foundation or similar 3rd party could maintain with ease.
-
Here is a timestamped proof of the first allocation of Bit20 containing XCP - https://www.cryptofresh.com/tx/68a4a7941bf5430a461c26ac37efbff2d6448f6e
-
I invite anyone to inspect BitShares as a technical platform I believe it meets your needs. DeFi has turned cryptocurrency into a volume game. If I didn't know what Counterparty was capable of, then seeing a single exchange pair on CMC would be a major turnoff.
-
Yes. We need a formal CIP drafted, ihmo

I think XCP as the medium makes sense. Plenty of room for distinct assets if there's demand, but XCP being the common denominator of the network it makes sense to start with that.
-
Having a CIP here does not make it a formally accepted standard until its status becomes Active. For a CIP to become Active requires the mutual consent of the community.
-
How exactly is mutual consent determined?
-
A generated asset I even have someone willing to bonds for it I'll give you the whitepaper too look over if you like
-
Want to completely crush them and ppl are listening to me
-
Soon as the president gets back to me I'll let you know which
-
Wanna make sure he signs the paper then meet my terms
-
Generally people propose ideas and discuss the benefits of a CIP on counterpartytalk.org to gauge the community interest in the feature, etc.
-
Honestly, I don't think a CIP is appropriate yet. There still needs to be discussion on exactly what benefits CP will get from this, as it is still not clear to me what benefit, if any, an integration would have
-
That being said, I am all for projects integrating Counterparty into their projects/platforms... and if someone in the community wants to pay for that integration, that is great!
-
That's awesome
-
We need to talk
-
Yeah man thank you for your support
