I've just decided to find a work around... and hope there is a fix for this later. -
We are having a large amount of very experienced users report this issue.
Jdog stated in the Freewallet chat:
"This is not an issue with FreeWallet…. The transactions are generated by counterparty…. All the FreeWallet does is talk to counterpart and sign the transactions.... It’s only appearing in FreeWallet since FreeWallet is the only wallet that you can do multi-sends in"
Can any devs weigh in on this issue? Has something changed protocol level to restrict multi-send functionality? -
In the past I’ve resolved this by sending a transaction with less sends within the multi-send - so I did 10 transactions of 10 instead of 1 with 100- not ideal but worked for the time being. No idea if this will work in this instance but just throwing it out there 🤷♂️ -
the question is not "how do I workaround this issue"
the question is "has something changed protocol level to restrict multi-send functionality?"
if the answer is "no" - then it obviously it is a wallet issue... but when the coder of the wallet says its an xcp protocol thing....
then if the answer is "yes" - why is it that the users who rely on the existing functionality of the protocol (and the only wallet that supports it) were not notified? -
Which brings me to a very important question.
(devs, i know you are all focusing on protocol at the moment and i love yall)
If the new maintainers and xcp team plan to rebuild or update the Counterwallet functionality and refresh it up....
Which features will be available at the time of release? Which features will be left behind if any?
There are some historic features that we have taken for granted as easy to use in the community such as:
- Multi-send
- Subasset creation
- Sweep feature
- Accessing the entire DEx wallet side in the UI
- Dispenser creation and buying integrated into wallet UI
- BTCpay functionality (barely used, but only supported by Freewallet)
and of course there are features that a few members of the community hated such as:
- Reset function (when token issuance holder has never distributed the token and holds Token issuance rights as well as 100% of the supply)
Sadly, many of these features (and a smooth UI for using them) have users relying exclusively on Freewallet to use them...
In a future world - would all those features be supported with a new 'refreshed' Counterwallet? -
Iirc Counterwallet does not function at this time due to a new feature introduced by previous developers, breaking things that counterwallet needed to function properly. Counterwallet could come back almost as it was, or not at all. We will let everyone know as soon as possible.

- Freewallet has a big issue with how to handle fee estimation
- rarepepewallet has limited protocol functionality
- JPJA's electrum tx builder is very advanced/technical and difficult for even advanced users
- stamped ninja is closed source and doesn't support all of xcp features
- xcp dot dev wallet (CNTRPRTY) is very rudimentary, has pre-historic UI and is not even listed on the xcp website... so new users wouldn't even know where to find it
not only are experienced users who have been here for years frustrated with even how to successfully broadcast xcp functions, but new users are literally left in the dust....
is there any roadmap on how the collecting/artist community can expect updates for this future wallet? -

Not at this time. Thats not really the argument or problem too.
Implementing the delaying of dispenser closing caused trickle down effects for counterwallet. No big deal.
The protocol is fine. Us nerds can get transactions to process, and our assets never went down, so the protocol works.
The tools that most counterparty users have become accustomed to however, need a little bit of maintenance.
Not your node, not your rules. Run a node if you want to fly.
Touch some grass and read a book. Smart people are making better xcp tools right now than you can imagine. Great things ahead.

I used the Anumber alias for my subasset so I would not have to pay the xcp fee for sure -
I had transferred an asset over to my newly created wallet a month ago, and I wanted to update the description. I thought I was going to have to transfer it back and forth again, but I asked the ninja team and was given that tip. It was a named asset, and I just checked and no xcp was debited for the action even though it seems like it might with that drop down field.

It’s good but not a browser extension. The closest that exist (but only support a subset of Counterparty assets) are LeatherBTC and TheStampWallet.com. Both function as browser extensions which mean they can be used as sign-in auth.

this is my recommendation to use the moment of low fees and strike yourself a file using cip33 tech just in case the tech will get widely adopted. Same as CP, stamps, ordinals or just about anything- you have them first - you are okay :)

file'ng cost for that asset was bit more than 72$ because you guys forgot to include the btc burned :)
it costed about 100$ to mint it at 30sat/byte fee.
roughly you would need to pay only 35$ to FILE immutable UTXO png at 6.3 kb size if broadcasted at 10sat/byte which was everage fees today :) (edit plus would need to burn some btc, but still would be like 50-60$ total expenses which is very cheap compared to size :)
thats why i say, it is dirty cheap compared to any other method and burns less btc :)

For a long time I have vocally expressed the absolute need to update a lot of the information there - include help guides on the docs section for ALL the most commonly accepted and used XCP wallets (and list features for each)

p.s. you can store ANY assets on trezor and control them (list them, send them, sweep them with the help of JPJA tools) using electrum version 4.3.4. even when no other wallets support it, that version + JPJA does the trick :) it always worked for me, years.
