Also, no one is stopping anyone from making CP compatible with Lightning. Anyone can go and do it. -
There is a bunch of renewed development interest in CP in the past few months.. I know of at least 5 projects being worked on quietly which will help make Counterparty more usable and engage more users.. I also am collecting donations in a general fund for CP and some of those funds could go towards hackathons and other events which will help draw developers in..... end-users is great, but what we really need is to entice developers to build on the platform, with the developers and cool projects comes users (as we have seen with rare pepe, Spells of Genesis, Bitcorns, Mafia wars, and others) -
check pinned messages if you want to contribute to the various aspects of counterparty... but yes, my goal is to attract more developers to the platform and get more cool stuff built on it 🙂

also just launched dogeparty.net which is Counterparty codebase forked to run on dogecoin... so we can consider that a bit of a playground where we can experiment with various features, and if they are well received and wanted by the Counterparty community, we can move those features up to big brother Counterparty pretty easily 🙂

currently can only charged fix prices in BTC on dispensers.... oracled dispensers are dispenser that use a price feed from an oracle and use it to calculate a stable fiat cost for items in a dispenser

No, at the time of issuance you have to pick Named (0.5 xcp) subassets (0.25 xcp) or numeric asset (cost of BTC transaction)

Hi there, I have some assets on counterparty in a segwit address beginning with '3'. They are under a 24 word seedphrase but reading through this telegram it seems I won't be able to access it? -
Correct… currently addresses that begin with 3 have issues…. Working on getting the issues resolved/fixed…. Til then use a legacy address (address that starts with 1)

You should create dispensers on addresses you don’t normally use in daily use…. Can also open a dispenser on a new/empty address without having to transfer funds… just put new address in the dispenser field

using BTC on the DEX requires the person buying with BTC to use a wallet which listens for order matches and sends a btcpay transaction within 20 blocks... not exactly fire-n-forget like other assets on the DEX

Hi. Newbie here. I wanted to sell a counterparty asset on the freewallet desktop dex in exchange for xcp, I created what I thought was a sell order myasset/xcp . Now I cant see anything in my wallet saying sell order. In the history tab it says "Order buy amtXCP". I cant see anywhere to cancel the order or how long it will remain open. I feel I have messed up. Can someone help? cheers -

signing transaction is an issue with your local wallet... probably from you switching 12-word passphrases a bunch... freewallet is not meant for that.. it is meant for you to use ONE 12-word passphrase and just use all the addresses in that ONE passphrase (you can generate infinite amount of addresses with ONE 12-word passphrase, so no need for multiple

click logout to reset wallet, then close wallet... then open wallet, then re-import 12-word passphrase... wallet and addresses will be rebuilt, should be good after that

1.) your market won't show up in the wallet until you actually have an executed trade on it

2.) you can navigate directly to your market by entering myasset/xcp in the search box on exchange tab and clicking the green search icon

that will take you directly to market... markets dont show up until you have an actual trade on the market... so set a sell order, set a matching buy order, trade will execute, then stuff should start showing up in normal XCP market pair listing

Freewallet question...
I'm trying to send BTC but I keep getting the following error: "Error while trying to sign send transaction" -
What am I missing? I've tried deposit addresses at both FTX and Kraken —same error.

Does Freewallet not work with P2SH addresses?

if your using freewallet-desktop.. signing errors are due to a corrupted address index

prolly cuz your switching 12-word passphases a bunch... instead of just creating a wallet and using that ONE 12-word passphrase to generate all your wallet addresses

logout entirely, close freewallet desktop entirely... reopen, re-enter 12-word passphrase, that will rebuild address list and address index.... try signing again after that

also, again, just use ONE 12-word passphrase with freewallet-desktop... not sure why people feel the need to create multiple wallets and keep switching back and forth... but your creating more headaches for yourself (and for me) by doing this

I’ve mentioned this before so forgive me if it’s been answered. Do 48x48 asset icons take a while to fully “upload”? I added mine a week ago and sometimes they show but most of the time they don’t? -
I have code that downloads all the icons on the servers once every 24 hours... wait anotehr week (crazy busy right now) and if the icon is not updated, send me a DM and i'll look into the issue on your specific asset

you same 12-word passphrase from RPW will work in freewallet-desktop... just be careful to not switch back and forth too much.... or you'll wind up with that "error signing" message 🙂

you can use CP API to generate a transaction... then can just use Sign Transaction in freewallet-desktop... no "console" needed 🙂

@jdogresorg I'm not sure what @ShawnLeary was trying to accomplish, but his post was "can someone make a step by step Medium article with pictures of sending your tx through console?"
I assume he was trying to do something while there were outages this morning? -

Rebuilding the address list and address index seems to have removed the new addresses that I'd added — I don't suppose there's any chance of recovering these ? 🤔

if it was an address that was generated via "add new address" then just do that again

if it was a private key you impoted, you will need to re-import the private key again

this is why switching 12-word passphrases is a bit of a pain... blows away all saved addresses/private keys... hence why you shouldnt do it in the wallet and should just use ONE 12-word passphrase

use just ONE 12-word passphrase and then you can generate addresses fine and not have to worry about them disappearing when you switch 12-word passphrases repeatedly

The “outage” was just on one server running rarepepe wallet…. CP was functioning fine throughout… and you can see ppl buying xcp from dispensers fine….. please use the tools provided by xchain to answer your own questions before asking here….. a quick check on xchain reveals all is fine
