There are a few complaints, but I see funds flowing into and out of their wallet consistently, and they are the exchange with the most XCP volume, so not sure why your trying to steer people away from dex-trade.com.... we have other exchanges coming online soon, but dex-trade is working fine, albeit a bit slow for some

So I cracked a vault with a bunch of pepes in it and swept it to a new address and now it wont let me send says some error about signing?

if your using freewallet.io and your getting signing error issues, most likely cause is you switching back and forth multiple times with multiple passphrases in freewallet (not really meant to do this)

logout of the wallet entirely... close it down.. then open it back up and re-enter your passphrase and try signing again

signing either works or doesn't work... only reason signing would fail in freewallet.io is because wallet is having problems accessing the private key for the address.

which in my experience only happens with users who use the wallet and login/out of a bunch of different passphrases.... wallet is really only meant to use one passphrase... and then import private keys from other addresses you want to use

as long as you have the private key to the address holding the pepes, you should be fine 🙂

I do but I think I sent the pepes to my free wallet which only has a seed phrase and no private key like the main one. But you're saying I can recover that via the seed phrase in free wallet then it should work? I just wanted to say thank you so much for your detailed response. I recovered the seed phrase on free wallet mobile and there's nothing on there

the 12-word passphrase can be used by the wallet to generate a bunch of addresses... each address has its own private key... as long as you have the passphrase which accesses the address, or the private key to the address, you should be fine

not sure exactly what issue your having, but I can say that the only time I have had anyone complain about signing issues it was because of a corrupted key index... so resetting the wallet, closing it, then logging in with your 12-word passphrase should work... then switch to the address with the pepes and they should appear in your balances list

from that point on, you should be able to generate and sign transactions for that address

So yea I think I have a corrupted key index I tried to recover the passphrase on my phone but it didn't work and the passphrase for the main wallet is the same as the imported one sorry perhaps I am not describing this well. When I try to look up the private key of the other address it just says false and I tried to recover the seed and it just recovers the imported wallet

stop saying seed... it is not a clear term.. we are talking about your 12-word passphrase that can access many wallets... or a private key which can access one single wallet... when describing an issue it is important that you use the correct terms.

My issue is when I try to recover the seed in electrum the address with the assets isn't showing up I am worried my pepes are lost lol the address I sent from is there but for some reason I can only seem to recover the imported address and not the original free wallet one if that makes sense?

Freewallet passphrases don’t work in electrum, and the address derivation path is different…. This is why you should use freewallet and freewallet addresses and if you have to use electrum to move btc, use the private key for the address…. Not the 12-word passphrase as that won’t work

Electrum is only for moving btc in some instances…. Shouldn’t really be using it when trying to access rarepepe

Sounds like you generated multiple passphrases from the same wallet.
Did you have save the passphrase you used prior? If so, that will probably solve your issue. -
Yes, if you read history here multiple people have said they have done deposits and withdraws perfectly fine... sorry your having issues, but to assume everyone is having these issues is a mistake

for anyone highly concerned (for what its worth i guess) ive done 4 sizeable withdrawals from dex trade since aug 29 and they’ve all been successful. definitely sucks that you cant access funds in a timely matter as we’d like, but i think they’re just under-resourced on the tx processing side

I do but when I recover it I get 1ETK which is a rarepepewallet and free wallet I can switch between the two but when I recover it on the webapp I can't find the other address and on rare pepewallet it recovers to 1ETK so I think I just need to find a way to switch to the old address once I have recovered. The weird part is there's 2 address 1's like it says 1ETK is address one but so is 1K is there a way to reset my keystore manually? I saw the webapp has a refresh cache I apologize for bugging you guys so much about this it's just I have a shitcoin card and Pepemaxaf stuck in there I honestly can't be mad at anyone but myself should of waited for my trezor to get here. I tried to use my ledger but it's not supported freewallet said.
I think I just need to recover it on the PC freewallet and I should be able to search and switch to the other address but I don't want to log out worried I won't be able to get back in lol. I was thinking worst case scenario I could get the seed made into a physical card? Since the Pepes are technically in the seed even if I am not able to switch to them. Although I feel like I will be able to if not now in the future -
check debug console and specific request to see what error is being thrown when trying to generate the first tx

fyi... don't burn... "destroy".. as that actually lowers the available supply on xchain.io... "burns" just send funds to an unspendable address... but they still live on the ledger and show in the supply

The token is just a way to notify the seller that you didn’t get what you were expecting. To make them aware and then it’s up to them to return it.

signing error is probably because your freewallet address index is corrupted.... logout of freewallet entirely, close the app, then open it back up and enter in your 12-word passphrase and then try again.... a signing issue is an issue with your wallet and address index, not anything someone here can really help you with.

you can also try logging into counterwallet.io and trying on that wallet if you continue to have issues... but signing is not a counterparty problem, it is a problem in the local wallet with not being able to find the private key for the address to sign.

If you used another passphrase on the same wallet, use that passphrase and search for the address your trying to send from.

And any high value transactions, I always make sure the private key is present at the address I’m going to use.

no instructions for freewallet.... dispensers get setup on addresses... just pick an address which is new and empty... switch to the address where the cards are you want to put in the dispenser... plug in the empty/new address as the "dispenser" address... then click create.... it will create a dispense on the empty/new address and take funds from your current address

can either setup a dispenser on the current address that you have selected in freewallet..... or setup a dispenser on a new/emtpy address... also, refilling dispensers or creating a dispenser on an address you've already used for something requires you to setup the dispenser from the dispenser address (select the dispenser address as the current address, then just create dispenser)

you can buy XCP direct from a dispenser, or via dex-trade.com... there have been some complaints by a vocal few... but also been reports from numerous people that they have used the exchange to deposit and withdraw many times with no issues..... just be sure to send your deposit to dex-trade.com and include the memo they say you should include (follow directions) and you should have no issues

most of the people who are complaining did not follow directions and send their deposit with a memo, so they are having to wait for dex-trade.com to manually credit their accounts with the deposits.

Just a display issue on xchain with the balance not showing up…. There is a tool called counterparty2mysql which extracts the data from the CP internal database into an indexed/faster database and occasionally sometimes it hiccups and a balance is not updated…. I re-parsed the block and it fixed the issue…. You always had the balance in CP, it just wasn’t showing on xchain

You can Import private key and switch to address you want to sweep then choose sweep address from the address menu item in the main menu….. then u just put in the new address you want to sweep stuff to and click sweep… you’ll need a bit of xcp to do a sweep tho… think it’s like a 0.5 xcp anti-spam fee….and it doesn’t sweep the BTC… so you’ll need to do the btc separately after the main asset sweep… You do not want to sweep in counterwallet cuz that one does each send individually instead of all at once…. It’s slow and expensive

That is a scam token airdropped to people to try and trick them into logging into a fake counterwallet page with their 12 word passphrase and then the scammers steal ur funds…. You can’t sell counterevent cuz it has no value… same with BONUSBTC

NFTs aren’t a solution to immutable file storage. A hash of the image can be embedded but ultimately it’s social consensus that determines the link between the token and the jpeg. It’s better to consider the token itself to be the art. The jpeg is just what it looks like.

ask podcasters.... more marketing/media/conversation about Counterparty is definitely welcome.... unfortunately, the community manager that we hired a couple months ago has gone radio silent, so not much going on in the way of helping promote/expand counterparty through media, news updates, etc.... in the coming month I will focus more effort on finding a longer-term responsible community manager and hopefully start putting out consistent news updates again and organize regular dev meetings, etc.

Brad I think this is actually an example of the superiority of Counterparty NFTs that should be played-up. The biggest criticism of NFTs is “hur dur I can just copy the jpeg!” But with Counterparty there is a reserved namespace (unlike Ethereum afaict). So BRADMILLS the token has value even beyond the jpeg. The jpeg is just the visual representation of the namespace. Equating it to domain names will resonate more with people who don’t get NFTs.
