So the good news is they're going to tip the next few starving artists that show you their Bitcoin address?

FreeWallet
Happy to announce the release of version 0.9.11 of FreeWallet Desktop wallet for Windows, Macintosh, and Linux. This version fixes an issue with the send amount formatting and adds support for BIP39 passphrases! #Counterparty #XCP #XChain https://t.co/5tNiKsKyZF

👍 keep it up jdog
-
-
Seems like it feels alot better too
-
It looks like there are a few different pending transactions from your address... but when I look at the actual transaction hashes and try to look them up in external block explorers, I am unable to... meaning that the transactions were not relayed to other nodes... probably due to a low fee on a previous transaction
-
If you want to cancel those pending transactions... I would suggest importing your private key into a wallet like electrum and then sending all your BTC from 18Uwp2bu6BdojHGvHRS6Kf85wwJ4X6oheu to your address 18Uwp2bu6BdojHGvHRS6Kf85wwJ4X6oheu.... That will gather up all of your known UTXOs and put them into a single UTXO..... since the old UTXOs that the pending transactions reference will no longer be valid, the pending transactions will go away, and THEN you can try setting up your dispensers again with a higher fee
-
Or you can just wait another 12 days or so for the transactions to expire
-
You said that you had tried to setup a dispenser 4 days ago... the only dispensers I see pending from 4 days ago are from that address
-
-
If that is not your address, then I don't see any pending dispensers tx and you should try setting up the dispenser again
-
In the future, it might help if you give some details like your address or transaction hash so I don't have to guess (apparently incorrectly) as to what your address is
-
"Your transactions in freewallet are blank"... not sure what that means.... I have setup 5 dispensers in the last 24 hours using freewallet without any issues.... Freewallet talks to the CP API to generate a transaction and then just signs the transaction from the CP API... Yes, there is a debug log in freewallet.. click the logo, click debug button, click console tab... there you should be able to see any errors.... you also can take a look at the networks tab to see if any of your requests are getting blocked perhaps by your firewall.... have had some cases in the past where the firewall was blocking CP API access requests so the wallet was unable to generate and sign transactions.
-
I'll be putting additional status monitoring into the wallet soon.... so when you click a button that does something in the background you'll be updated WTF is going on in the background rather than just clicking a button and waiting 10-15 seconds without a status update :)
-
When freewallet signs a transaction and broadcasts it, you will get a notification message that your transaction has been broadcast and a button to click to view the transaction.... at that point the transaction should be broadcast to the network/pending.... if you never make it to the confirmation message saying your transaction has been broadcast, then it probably never actually got signed/sent
-
there is no private server... freewallet pulls its data from the xchain.io APIs... and generates CP transactions using the public CP API at public.coindaddy.io... then signs the tx in the wallet and broadcasts using the xchain.io broadcasting API.
-
The next time you want to setup a dispenser... just make sure to open up the chromium dev tools log (debug console) BEFORE you go to create the dispener, that way all your actions of creating the dispenser, the call to the CP API, and the broadcasting of the TX will all show up... and if there is an issue signing your tx, the console should show some error
-
you can then screenshot it, black out whatever address/private info you don't want us to see, then send.
-
If you have technical issues, please create an issue on github and give the full details of the issue including screenshots and a clear explanation of how to repeat the issue, etc.

Correct. You can write a wallet and just use the xchain APIs without any need to run a CP server.... you also can configure freewallet to talk to a different counterparty server in the settings screen
-
-
So if you WANTED to run your own CP server and have your wallet just use it to generate transactions instead of the public server, that would work fine. :)
-
Yes

Is anyone aware of an xcp asset being used to represent a real world loan obligation?
-
Are you a cop?
-
Nope, nothing illegal about that anyway. Just wondering if a project would be the first.
-
I've heard about all sort of uses including scams
-
Many thanks

But most of all nice people doing fun stuff :)

Large sum of XCP available, sell OTC for Bitcoin, can use a trusted 3rd party escrow. Please PM me if interested.

Hi, I'm new to Counterparty and was wondering how it actually works.
I understand the Counterparty network is built on top of the Bitcoin network, but I don't quite understand why we need additional, dedicated servers in order to maintain the Counterparty network; I believe John was talking about how there were the "official servers" in addition to several servers run by JDog.
Could someone enlighten me on what those servers are used for within the Counterparty network? Thanks! -
You do not need dedicated servers to maintain the counterparty network. Counterparty data is all encoded in the bitcoin blockchain, all that counterparty does is 1.) create/encode/validate transactions and pass unsigned hashes back to the user... or 2.) Parses in transactions from the bitcoin blockchain and creates/updates records in the counterparty ledger.... All Counterparty nodes could be turned off for a year, then someone could spin up a node, parse in all the blockchain data to get caught up, and broadcast a new counterparty transaction.
-
When Counterparty first launched, it needed a wallet so the founders wrote counterwallet, which requires a server to run, and required some backend tools to maintain (counterblock, mongodb, armory).
-
There is currently one "official" counterparty server which runs the counterparty.io website and counterwallet.io
-
The is also a server which CoinDaddy runs which hosts a counterwallet instance, xchain.io block explorer, freewallet.io and some other misc sites, and hosts a public counterparty development server for people to use to generate Counterparty transactions without having to run a server themselves.
-
-
You could just setup a dispenser and announce it :)
-
Ah okay thanks J-Dog, I will look into that. Can be done to sell it for BTC now? What’s the expiration that can be set? Happy to go read if you have a read me link :)
-
I don't see the guy behind rare.estate - if you're out there please dm!

I set up a new dispenser, look up #139 on xchain , good price

Yes it is on counterparty, no it is not on any exchanges at this time

Seen this guy speak, he has some fairly legit background in securities law. He’s gone full retard about corona fud recently but would be a great plug for counterparty for sure.

do you know that counterparty has an exchange built into it?

Hello, counterparty parameter question. This asset - https://xchain.io/asset/A11198384678562650450
-
The owner "locked" supply flag put on this week and the explorer does not reflect it. I'm considering if it's an issue in transmission or maybe an api for params?
-
Check the issuances
-
none of them show a lock action
-
-
So, the asset does not show a locked supply because the asset supply has not been locked
-
Look at this transaction
-
I see.. @jdogresorg you're right
-
-
-
yep... lock failed cuz by the time your tx hit, the asset was owned by a different address :)
-
This was by an account that created a token and it was transferred. Issuer rights must have gone along?
-
you can lock it from the new address tho :)
-
Okay, is that normal btw?
-
is what normal?
-
Most people create a token and issue supply and lock it from the same address.... you CAN issue a token and transfer ownership to a different address if you want, that is normal... but most asset supply is issued from the same address that registered the asset in the first place :)
-
if your asking if it is normal to transfer away issuing rights when you transfer asset ownership... the answer is yes.... only the current owner of an asset can issue supply, so if you transfer ownership of that asset away from yourself, you can no longer issue supply

To operate a web page operable with xcp would you recommend the documentation here or any other library in particular?
