I can not send my bitcoin out of any counterparty wallet (any wallet) I get error that I do not have enough bitcoin balance. But I have .
    Can you please help?
  • @benchbtc #41764 11:00 AM, 01 Sep 2019
Are you trying to send 100% of it in 1 txn? if so you are probably not leaving enough for whatever fee you have your wallet set to pay

Could be your btc is all in tiny dust amounts
  • @krostue #41771 02:32 PM, 01 Sep 2019
What is the fee set at?
  • @krostue #41772 02:32 PM, 01 Sep 2019
Seems that it may be too low?
  • @jdogresorg #41773 02:33 PM, 01 Sep 2019
Try using a wallet like electrum, import your private key, then send all ur btc back to yourself..... this will gather all your tiny dust utxos and probably make you able to actually use your btc

Question for someone familiar with Counterparty wallet software. Which Counterparty-aware wallets will scan the entire set of addresses generated from a given seed phrase looking for those that might have some balance of tokens and when will they do it? Only when you first enter a new seed phrase?
  • @jdogresorg #41829 02:58 PM, 06 Sep 2019
I think just counterwallet.... all the other wallets lookup address/balance data on a per-address basis (balances are updated when you switch from one address to another)..... counterwallet is the only one that looks up multiple addresses and balances on login

  • Log into counterwallet and then you can send your coval whenever you would like... including an exchange where you can trade for btc.

  • @jdogresorg #42216 04:37 PM, 20 Sep 2019
Counterparty runs on Bitcoin. In order to send a Counterparty transaction, you must pay a bitcoin transaction fee which goes to the miners for processing your transactoin. Counterparty uses Bitcoin addresses, which is why it is asking for a Bitcoin address
  • @Dzulbag #42217 04:46 PM, 20 Sep 2019

  • @benchbtc #42314 11:43 AM, 23 Sep 2019
happy to help lemme know if you have any questions although I am not a lawyer, just an interested party
  • Yep, I was sending with super low fees almost always until recently. Now the wallet considers the tx pending but it never makes it into the mempool. This is not how it used to be. I have several tx sitting in limbo for days now.
  • I've mentioned a few times that this is related to the behavior of the current version of Bitcoin that Counterparty runs on..... @chiguireitor should be able to tell you more... something having to do with the bitcoin core code not relaying transactions below a set fee..... that is why you see CP transactions pending for a long time for low fees..... they get accepted by the xchain.io public node, so the txs are seen on xchain.io, but they are not relayed to other nodes..... This behavior should be resolved the next time we update to the latest version of bitcoin core.
  • I was able to complete low-fee transactions 2 weeks ago, but I’ve since had about a dozen not go through. I upped my fee to over 1000 SATs, but it still did not work. This is problematic, as I don’t want to spend something like 0.0001 BTC per transaction. Otherwise, hopefully Bitcoin tanks down to $100 to make this platform affordable again.
  • @mightbemike #42320 07:01 PM, 23 Sep 2019
Perhaps the best workaround is to adjust the recommended fee tiers.
  • @jdogresorg #42321 07:20 PM, 23 Sep 2019
or get us on the latest version of bitcoin core where the relayfee requirement is lower.
  • @mightbemike #42322 07:21 PM, 23 Sep 2019
How tough is that? Currently only one version behind, right?

  • @jdogresorg #42324 07:25 PM, 23 Sep 2019
yes, I believe we are two versions behind... we are running 0.16.3.... I tested a few months ago with 0.17.1 and everything seemed to run fine...... current version is 0.18.1

Apache/2.4.29 (Ubuntu) Server at counterpartytalkDOTorg Port 443 if it helps
  • i could do it for something between 20k-25k for the first phase.... but that would mean i need more free time (which i don't have atm)
  • @Scotcoin_Willie #42363 06:52 PM, 24 Sep 2019
    could the work be shared?
  • @Scotcoin_Willie #42364 06:57 PM, 24 Sep 2019
great - that link is working now 👍
  • @104473096 #42365 07:03 PM, 24 Sep 2019
    yes, it could...
  • @104473096 #42366 07:03 PM, 24 Sep 2019
however, no one is showing up for taking the slack for counterparty dev
  • @Scotcoin_Willie #42367 07:04 PM, 24 Sep 2019
Had a quick skim through that thread. Saw no mention of Rust.......
  • @104473096 #42368 07:05 PM, 24 Sep 2019
    why rust?
  • @XCERXCP ↶ Reply to #42366 #42369 07:18 PM, 24 Sep 2019
Yes. I think it would be nice to have a list of developers who qualify/want to develop on XCP. That way when a project needs development, we have our community developers to go to.
  • LOL... yeah... after sending you the link, I started upgrading the discourse forum software.... the upgrade is complete... site should be back up now 🙂
  • I was maintaining a list of CP devs at one point...
  • @jdogresorg #42373 07:27 PM, 24 Sep 2019
it is a bit outdated now tho since some of the devs have moved on to other projects.
  • @817973395 #42375 08:14 PM, 24 Sep 2019
Thanks for your help J Dog. I have a question for you. I am selling some stuff and the buyer wants to use "MYBLT" to pay for it. This crypto seems to be one of yours. Can you give me some info on where to trade it? Bittrex does not have it, and they have some pretty obscure crypto. Some kind of approximate valuation would also be helpful.
  • @jdogresorg #42376 08:17 PM, 24 Sep 2019
FYI.. the MYBLT asset is a counterparty asset, but it is not mine, nor am I affiliated with the token or project in any way.... that being said... you should be able to trade MYBLT on the DEX that is built into Counterparty.... tho you would have to have someone wanting to buy MYBLT in order to sell it to them... and there doesn't seem to be much trading activity.
  • @jdogresorg #42378 08:18 PM, 24 Sep 2019
currently no buy orders... just sell orders
  • @817973395 #42380 08:26 PM, 24 Sep 2019
Very helpful J Dog, thanks for that. Next question, where do I trade XCP, and what is it roughly worth?
  • @jdogresorg #42382 08:30 PM, 24 Sep 2019
you can trade XCP on the DEX or at chainrift.com
  • @jdogresorg #42384 08:32 PM, 24 Sep 2019
with the next release you will be able to buy XCP or any asset directly from a dispenser (think vending machine).... you just send the address some BTC and it will send you back the asset/tokens
  • @817973395 #42385 08:33 PM, 24 Sep 2019
    Known as "burning" BTC?
  • @jdogresorg #42386 08:36 PM, 24 Sep 2019
    no
  • the dispenser owner gets the BTC
  • @817973395 #42388 08:37 PM, 24 Sep 2019
    Gotcha
  • @jdogresorg #42389 08:37 PM, 24 Sep 2019
burning is something that happened many years ago... where people sent BTC to an unspendable bitcoin address, and they were rewarded with XCP....... dispensers are a bit different in that the BTC is not burned, it just goes to the address and is added to the balance.
  • @Scotcoin_Willie #42390 08:38 PM, 24 Sep 2019
it's only "burning" BTC if you consider XCP has no value...
A PoV that is held by many (not me) but wouldn't be popular here 😊
  • @817973395 #42391 08:39 PM, 24 Sep 2019
Makes more sense. Incidently, I am looking at the price history of XCP on Chainrift. It took a massive drop just this past week. What might you attribute that to?
  • @Scotcoin_Willie #42392 08:39 PM, 24 Sep 2019

  • the power of C++, the usability of Python

neither statement is actually true but neither statement is _that_ wrong
  • @RonaldRubber #42395 08:42 PM, 24 Sep 2019
Is the next CP update close or still a ways out?
  • @104473096 #42396 08:43 PM, 24 Sep 2019
yeah, but why are you suggesting rust? it's stated that the intention is to have a non-turing-complete language
  • it's already on master, we just need to pack the release
  • @104473096 #42398 08:43 PM, 24 Sep 2019
    (tip: that takes some time)

  • @104473096 #42400 08:45 PM, 24 Sep 2019

(cuadruple tip: this tip is useless, move along)
  • @Scotcoin_Willie #42402 08:45 PM, 24 Sep 2019
I merely mention it because I know of another project that made massive advances after switching from C++ to Rust. maidsafeDOTnet
  • @104473096 #42403 08:45 PM, 24 Sep 2019
    gotcha
  • @104473096 #42404 08:45 PM, 24 Sep 2019
yeah.... well.... counterparty is all made on python
  • @104473096 #42405 08:46 PM, 24 Sep 2019
no sense on coding it all again on a new lang
  • @104473096 #42406 08:46 PM, 24 Sep 2019
i for one know that getting the ledger hashes the same has so many python specific exceptions that it would be a headache to port over any other lang

There's any chance for XCP to be in an exchange again??
  • @jdogresorg #42414 05:07 PM, 25 Sep 2019
XCP can be integrated into any exchange that chooses to.... in addition it is already on zaif.jp, chainrift.com, and you can use the built in Decentralized Exchange (DEX) to buy and sell XCP.
  • Name the buyer!
  • @817973395 #42417 11:11 PM, 25 Sep 2019
Guys, my honest concern is the over proliferation of crypto out of pure speculative interest. The net result is that people get hurt. If the crypto community does not immediately become responsible the governments of the world will shut you down.

it is good not to drink that koolaid. If you do not see the value in this technology, then you should probably not use it, imho

There is value in the US Dollar. Cranking up the printing presses every time you want to buy something is, however, damaging to the country. I am certain you agree.

    @jdogresorg pm
  • anyone able to actually chart XCP from inception thru today across all the listings and delistings? That in itself would be a useful webview to give the long term believers hope ie anyone who fundamentally understands that XCP beat Ethereum long term on functionality vs hype/price as the “smart contract chain” bloats and groans its final breaths
  • 27 September 2019 (9 messages)
  • Seems more like its dying...no marketing...no one knows about it..
  • We need alot of marketing..and development news ...and most important is to get xcp listed in big exchanges..
  • @PutraDewaArjuna #42436 05:15 AM, 27 Sep 2019
Seems like we are far from there..
  • 🤣 🤣 🤣 u must be ubernoob i’ll leave the chart staring up to you as we create actual usable tokens on the bitcoin core blockchain instead of the mutable reversible and bloated ethereum “ledger” 🐸

    Hi admin..

I got 50k coval in counterwallet…I want to transfer to stex exchanger…what address should I use…btc address or coval address
  • @Dzulbag ↶ Reply to #42461 #42463 01:27 PM, 28 Sep 2019
    Hi admin..pls help to advise.
  • This question has already been answered multiple times... both in here, and in the counterparty forums
  • @jdogresorg #42465 03:16 PM, 28 Sep 2019
    Coval transfer how to make

I would like to transfer COVAL to a wallet. I put the COVAL address to be transferred, but she accuses this error “This field must be a valid Bitcoin address.” I don’t want to transfer Bitcoin, I want to transfer COVAL, because it asks for a bitcoin address? thanks

  • @jdogresorg #42466 03:17 PM, 28 Sep 2019
Perhaps take some time to read the response and understand it rather than just re-posting the same question again and again.... TL;DR.... COVALC runs on Counterparty and Counterparty uses BITCOIN addresses for everything.
  • @Dzulbag #42468 04:46 PM, 28 Sep 2019
Not verify means what..sending but not shown to my btc address wallet
  • @Dzulbag ↶ Reply to #42464 #42469 04:52 PM, 28 Sep 2019
Yes I did send but why not showing at my receive address
  • post us your public wallet key or your TX id we can try to browse the chain explorer for you and figure out wtf is up vs what you expect
  • You can only view counterparty transactions on a counterparty explorer.... xchain.io..... if you deposited at an exchange and the funds have not shown up yet, you should be asking the EXCHANGE for support, not here..... as the exchange is the only one who can answer your question about why your deposit is not showing up in their system
  • Yes this is a salient observation. Counterparty is part of a very small club there and it does not make sense to waste the opportunity

Just FYI, additional western exchanges are currently approved listing XCP, pending next counterparty update. Have been less active in discussions on that front for a little but will be continuing dialog and talking to more in future.
