Could be your btc is all in tiny dust amounts
-
-
-
Try using a wallet like electrum, import your private key, then send all ur btc back to yourself..... this will gather all your tiny dust utxos and probably make you able to actually use your btc

I did that. It is compaitable with them but same problem.

It is indiesquare.

Many sex workers are warming up to the idea of taking payment in BTC, not sure about XCP though.

Question for someone familiar with Counterparty wallet software. Which Counterparty-aware wallets will scan the entire set of addresses generated from a given seed phrase looking for those that might have some balance of tokens and when will they do it? Only when you first enter a new seed phrase?
-
I think just counterwallet.... all the other wallets lookup address/balance data on a per-address basis (balances are updated when you switch from one address to another)..... counterwallet is the only one that looks up multiple addresses and balances on login

Thanks! 👍

What is your question, exactly? -
There's always kaleidoscope

just want to hear what kind of things you guys are working on. curious what has been prioritized and what is on the to do list. not looking to press anything or follow-up with the "wen XXXX" crap but just wanting a little insight on what kind of things the foundation is up to.

Mostly big picture stuff. We are getting things in order to present them in a public meeting. Hopefully a date and time can be set/announced later this week.
There are quite a few things to take into consideration, so a basic update would not be very cut and dry. -

Counterparty DEX... you can use it in counterwallet.io and freewallet.io
-
buy and sell any asset for XCP or BTC.
-
i have a full access coin, i tried using the counterparty DEX but it went into escrow and after 30 days i was refunded my units
-
-
-
yeah i was wondering if you guys knew of any DEXs that have open buy orders for the token
i’m a little late on trying to liquidate but would be willing to sell under market price
if any of you guys are interested let me know! -
ᴛʀuck
WOW! The market cap for TRUCOIN has 🚀EXPLODED🚀 over the weekend! The TRUCOIN RT giveaway for 1,000,000 TRUCOIN is now valued at almost 1.9 MILLION DOLLARS! All of this value was created with only 5,300 satoshis (0.00005300 BTC) and 0.5XCP. Remember: they're still worthless shit https://t.co/NAYuDjVjfL
-
Just because XCHAIN says a token is worth thousands doesn't make it so.
-
Market capitalization is all based on the last sale price, and it's very easy to manipulate the sale price.
-
i am aware...
however this is a government backed coin issued by -

it has value to me.
if the security does not offer you any utility, you are not obligated to engage in trade.
i’m just about a year late on liquidating the asset. -
I'm happy for you

An item only has the value that someone is willing to pay for it.... if your trying to sell something, and no one is buying, once could argule that what your trying to sell has no value.

Not too much activity for NEOCASH... only 30 sends and 14 orders over 2 years... the last one being 4+ months ago

no...
i am crypto to help fund the global trust. i just need some US military war dollars to invest in some factors of production and put back into the crypto ecosphere after i make my return. -

Any idea how to solve this? Fednode user definitely has perms to that folder.. fednode is who clone the repo, went purely off of https://counterparty.io/docs/federated_node/Running a Node | Counterparty
Installation/federated_node.md
-
nvm, fixed it by just making the folders before running
-
no idea why it was failing, weird
-
Any tips on trasferring a fullnode between servers? I really cant wait the serveral days to sync and do have a fullnode running on another server

Moving servers yes

This is a different project than previous 😉

Spun up a fresh server, same exact issues as above second time around. Clean 16.04 x64 server, 8 cores 64gb ram 640gb ssd, user has sudo privs, not running as sudo unless asked for in the docs

Has anyone in here spun a fednode recently?

Or has anyone transferred a synced fednode from one box to another?

driving me wild, plz, will pay -
did you try with ubuntu 18?
-
Nope, seems it doesnt like when I sudo su to the fednode user from my own personal user
-
When I run everything from my own personal user, the original that I used to ssh to the box, things run smoothly it seems without me needing to make those dirs myself
-
weird that it carries my original users permissions after Ive changed users..
-
do a chown -R of the whole fednode dir
-
fednode user already owned it all, wouldnt have changed anything
-
Im just going to run the node from my user, not ideal but yolo, I need this node live like 2 weeks ago

😂
-
yeah, initial sync could be faster

Any tips on syncing the chain quickly?

patience
-
I have another fednode thats synced, any experience transferring bitcoin chain from fednodes?

I wasnt joking when I said I needed this live 2 weeks ago, at this point its putting $k’s in jeopardy for me

you can copy the sqlite and the bitcoin data dir

Ooooh, a fake internet government. I thought you meant a real one! Silly me
-
they’re all fake governments.
all you have to do to start a govement is be a nonresident alien and draft a declaration of independence. -
how does the US government hold any claim to legitimacy over this one.
other than because they told you so. -
the coin was issued with a private equity bond just like basically any btc alt coin you’re trading and have in your wallet
-
somehow i missed this bit, until just now
-
the value of a token is only that of it’s perceived value to its users just like any other comodity
your opinion that the US government is a “real government” is based on your definition of reality, a government is just an organization with special status -
my offer is PEPEONMUSK at 1:1 trade
-
RE: "your opinion"
whom are you addressing?
does not matter. this is not the topic of the room, sir -
-
pm me, i’ll think about it.
but not like i have much to loose. -
-
-
sounds good
-
i'm not 100% convinced you know what government means
-
a system comprised of people governing an organized community
-
the the government your referencing has a troll website with broken links. Who is the organized community that they govern?
-
-
their troll populous.
what makes a government real then don? -
enlighten me
-
how is your government more real than their government other than the existence of a military and cannon law?
-
not that i think their troll government is real...
but neither is any other government... -
people to govern?
-
-
have you looked into Troptions.Gold?
-
please give me a better definition of government then buddy
-
so what you’re saying is if i get some people to govern i can start my own govement too then?
-
that’s exactly what i was trying to say too
-
my point is you can’t discredit the token because it’s a “fake govement” all govements are fake.
the word government is a marketing term. -
-
-
got it out of your system? please discuss your googled results of enlighenment elsewhere. if you happen to see the opportunity to bring this topic up again, do us all a favor: don't
-
-
i was done fucking around anyways but sure buddy i can do that for you.
-
i meant no disrespect to don
-
what are you guys thoughts on kin
-
-
identity politics is a great term that you just coined i might have to steal that from you
-
but i meant KIN
-
the token
-
the b2b system
-
-
-
ahhhhh but counter party is also a decentralized exchange
-
-
my aunt is on the developing team i think the idea of keeping assets in the ecosystem so we don’t have to rely on fiat for business to business invoicing is important to the crypto community aswell as XCP
-
i haven’t heard about this i will read up on it
-
i agree an open source development platform would complement kin very well. thank you for this information.
-
A few weeks ago, my counterwallet btc balances were stolen from the two CP wallets I have. I had used my CP seeds on counterwallet, freewallet, and electrum wallets. I believe I downloaded a malware version of electrum wallet and gave the “hackers” access to my CP wallet.
-
My counterparty tokens and XCP were not touched.... I reformatted my computer and reinstalled windows and freewallet.
-
this sounds reasonable, there was a malware MITM attack on electrum a while back
-
Put some BTC back into my CP address so I can put some token orders up and for the last week the BTC has not been touched
-
-
I don’t remember, I thought I went to their website and did it but it coulda been a prompt. I tend to click faster than I read.
-
I guess I’m trying to change the subject but also let people know about my stupid mistake to help people avoid doing the same thing
-
-
-
I also had about $50 of BTC in each of my two CP wallets which I now feel like was way too much, I spend about 3.5 cents per tx so no need to keep $50 on there
-
-
I wish I knew what md5 was, its something for me to google later in my free time
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
What I don’t get is if I had used a malware version of electrum, why would they have saved my keys and immediately transferred the BTC i put in there recently after I erased the malware off my machine.
-
-
-
I’ll look into this more, it’s above my head. I’m a simpleton.
-
-
-
quick browse turns up this decent seeming link https://www.howtogeek.com/363735/what-is-a-checksum-and-why-should-you-care/What Is a Checksum (and Why Should You Care)?
A checksum is a sequence of numbers and letters used to check data for errors. If you know the checksum of an original file, you can use a checksum utility to confirm your copy is identical.

Where I can exchange XCP except ZAIF nowadays?
-
- 20 September 2019 (13 messages)
-
Hello,I need a tool to safely send a Counterparty asset, from my BTC wallet,so it needs to have a wallet import function, but I cannot find one,...thank you for any answer.
-
-
-
You can use freewallet.io to import your private key, and then you can use the address and send any counterparty assets in it wherever you would like.
-
Log into counterwallet and then you can send your coval whenever you would like... including an exchange where you can trade for btc.
-
Not easy as you mention admin..still got error "This field must be a valid Bitcoin address.” when I enter receive coval address..what is this mean
-
It means your not pasting a bitcoin address... check the input for any extra spaces as that can cause the error
-
-
Counterparty runs on Bitcoin. In order to send a Counterparty transaction, you must pay a bitcoin transaction fee which goes to the miners for processing your transactoin. Counterparty uses Bitcoin addresses, which is why it is asking for a Bitcoin address
-
-
you need to use a counterparty explorer to see counterparty assets.... so, you should see your transaction on xchain.io
-
I encourage you to read this great tutorial at https://medium.com/@droplister/counterparty-tutorial-788c4e57c111Counterparty Tutorial

Hi guys

in terms of physical assets, there are some charectures bumbling around these parts that claim to be involved in some projects that have tokens backed by currency or gold, or whatever, but they appear to either be scammers to so unprofessional and non-transparent they should not be trusted

if you speak with Sasha from that link I know that there is some sort of legal channel that is involved in new regulation around crowdsourcing (e.g. kickstarter) that is easier to get approved for but if you want to truely just create a token backed by an asset that might not be a suitable channel
-
-
Yep, I was sending with super low fees almost always until recently. Now the wallet considers the tx pending but it never makes it into the mempool. This is not how it used to be. I have several tx sitting in limbo for days now.
-
I've mentioned a few times that this is related to the behavior of the current version of Bitcoin that Counterparty runs on..... @chiguireitor should be able to tell you more... something having to do with the bitcoin core code not relaying transactions below a set fee..... that is why you see CP transactions pending for a long time for low fees..... they get accepted by the xchain.io public node, so the txs are seen on xchain.io, but they are not relayed to other nodes..... This behavior should be resolved the next time we update to the latest version of bitcoin core.
-
I was able to complete low-fee transactions 2 weeks ago, but I’ve since had about a dozen not go through. I upped my fee to over 1000 SATs, but it still did not work. This is problematic, as I don’t want to spend something like 0.0001 BTC per transaction. Otherwise, hopefully Bitcoin tanks down to $100 to make this platform affordable again.
-
Perhaps the best workaround is to adjust the recommended fee tiers.
-
or get us on the latest version of bitcoin core where the relayfee requirement is lower.
-
How tough is that? Currently only one version behind, right?
-
I have no idea, just asking out of curiosity
-
yes, I believe we are two versions behind... we are running 0.16.3.... I tested a few months ago with 0.17.1 and everything seemed to run fine...... current version is 0.18.1
-
@chiguireitor how big of a deal would it be for us to bump the bitcoin core version up to the most current version (0.18.1) for the next release?
-
woudln't hurt, as i'm using latest on my test environments

is there any update on the CounterParty VM?
-
Smart Contracts/EVM FAQ
WARNING: this page is kept for historical purposes and does not represent the current state of counterparty. A new proposal is being built for a specific Counterparty VM. -
Here is info on the proposed VM... https://counterpartytalk.org/t/proof-of-concept-vm-development/3031Proof-of-concept VM Development
So i’ve recently started to develop a minimal pure python Virtual Machine tailored specifically for counterparty. I’m starting this thread to keep note of development and design decisions, and also to get input from the community regarding what should the VM do. FAQ Why not use EVM? EVM was designed with ethereum blocktimes and specifics in mind. CP has already a lot of groundwork regarding tokens, bets and a lot of useful functions that don’t need to be recoded in a smart contract. Isn’t...
-
It would require a decent amount of work and funding in order to make this a reality.
-
Thank you - I know its difficult but could you give a ball-park - even privately of the funding required?

-
could the work be shared?
-
great - that link is working now 👍
-
yes, it could...
-
however, no one is showing up for taking the slack for counterparty dev
-
Had a quick skim through that thread. Saw no mention of Rust.......
-
why rust?
-
Yes. I think it would be nice to have a list of developers who qualify/want to develop on XCP. That way when a project needs development, we have our community developers to go to.
-
LOL... yeah... after sending you the link, I started upgrading the discourse forum software.... the upgrade is complete... site should be back up now 🙂
-
I was maintaining a list of CP devs at one point...
-
it is a bit outdated now tho since some of the devs have moved on to other projects.
-
Thanks for your help J Dog. I have a question for you. I am selling some stuff and the buyer wants to use "MYBLT" to pay for it. This crypto seems to be one of yours. Can you give me some info on where to trade it? Bittrex does not have it, and they have some pretty obscure crypto. Some kind of approximate valuation would also be helpful.
-
FYI.. the MYBLT asset is a counterparty asset, but it is not mine, nor am I affiliated with the token or project in any way.... that being said... you should be able to trade MYBLT on the DEX that is built into Counterparty.... tho you would have to have someone wanting to buy MYBLT in order to sell it to them... and there doesn't seem to be much trading activity.
-
-
currently no buy orders... just sell orders
-
-
Very helpful J Dog, thanks for that. Next question, where do I trade XCP, and what is it roughly worth?
-
you can trade XCP on the DEX or at chainrift.com
-
with the next release you will be able to buy XCP or any asset directly from a dispenser (think vending machine).... you just send the address some BTC and it will send you back the asset/tokens
-
Known as "burning" BTC?
-
no
-
the dispenser owner gets the BTC
-
Gotcha
-
burning is something that happened many years ago... where people sent BTC to an unspendable bitcoin address, and they were rewarded with XCP....... dispensers are a bit different in that the BTC is not burned, it just goes to the address and is added to the balance.
-
it's only "burning" BTC if you consider XCP has no value...
A PoV that is held by many (not me) but wouldn't be popular here 😊 -
Makes more sense. Incidently, I am looking at the price history of XCP on Chainrift. It took a massive drop just this past week. What might you attribute that to?
-
scaredy cats
-
Looks very pump & dump
-
the power of C++, the usability of Python
neither statement is actually true but neither statement is _that_ wrong -
Is the next CP update close or still a ways out?
-
yeah, but why are you suggesting rust? it's stated that the intention is to have a non-turing-complete language
-
it's already on master, we just need to pack the release
-
(tip: that takes some time)
-
(double tip: time neither jdog or i haven't had too much of lately)
-
(triple tip: we just have to sit on the edge of our seats while the update rolls in)
-
(cuadruple tip: this tip is useless, move along)
-
I merely mention it because I know of another project that made massive advances after switching from C++ to Rust. maidsafeDOTnet
-
gotcha
-
yeah.... well.... counterparty is all made on python
-
no sense on coding it all again on a new lang
-
i for one know that getting the ledger hashes the same has so many python specific exceptions that it would be a headache to port over any other lang
-
especially when dev resources are tight. I can't help. Python scripting stuff, yes, programming at that level, no

There's any chance for XCP to be in an exchange again??
-
XCP can be integrated into any exchange that chooses to.... in addition it is already on zaif.jp, chainrift.com, and you can use the built in Decentralized Exchange (DEX) to buy and sell XCP.
-
Name the buyer!
-
Guys, my honest concern is the over proliferation of crypto out of pure speculative interest. The net result is that people get hurt. If the crypto community does not immediately become responsible the governments of the world will shut you down.

There is value in the US Dollar. Cranking up the printing presses every time you want to buy something is, however, damaging to the country. I am certain you agree.

anyone able to actually chart XCP from inception thru today across all the listings and delistings? That in itself would be a useful webview to give the long term believers hope ie anyone who fundamentally understands that XCP beat Ethereum long term on functionality vs hype/price as the “smart contract chain” bloats and groans its final breaths

Seems more like its dying...no marketing...no one knows about it..
-
We need alot of marketing..and development news ...and most important is to get xcp listed in big exchanges..
-
Seems like we are far from there..
-
🤣 🤣 🤣 u must be ubernoob i’ll leave the chart staring up to you as we create actual usable tokens on the bitcoin core blockchain instead of the mutable reversible and bloated ethereum “ledger” 🐸

Hi admin..pls help to advise.
-
This question has already been answered multiple times... both in here, and in the counterparty forums
-
Coval transfer how to make
I would like to transfer COVAL to a wallet. I put the COVAL address to be transferred, but she accuses this error “This field must be a valid Bitcoin address.” I don’t want to transfer Bitcoin, I want to transfer COVAL, because it asks for a bitcoin address? thanks
-
Perhaps take some time to read the response and understand it rather than just re-posting the same question again and again.... TL;DR.... COVALC runs on Counterparty and Counterparty uses BITCOIN addresses for everything.

Yes I did send but why not showing at my receive address
-
post us your public wallet key or your TX id we can try to browse the chain explorer for you and figure out wtf is up vs what you expect
-
You can only view counterparty transactions on a counterparty explorer.... xchain.io..... if you deposited at an exchange and the funds have not shown up yet, you should be asking the EXCHANGE for support, not here..... as the exchange is the only one who can answer your question about why your deposit is not showing up in their system
-
Yes this is a salient observation. Counterparty is part of a very small club there and it does not make sense to waste the opportunity
Just FYI, additional western exchanges are currently approved listing XCP, pending next counterparty update. Have been less active in discussions on that front for a little but will be continuing dialog and talking to more in future. - 29 September 2019 (1 messages)
