Hi there @jdogresorg - the Counterparty community and the OG assets are really cool. But my challenge is that if you want to buy or sell these assets there isn’t a central/engaging place to do it.
The dispensers are great functionally but not as a ‘shop window’ that really engage buyers and sellers. Digirare looks pretty good and seems like it could have been that marketplace - but doesn’t seem very active?
Do u know if anything is planned in the period ahead? (I know you are doing the dev work pro bono - so not putting expectations on you, just wondering about where it’s headed).

That’s why the XCP reserve is so important, it can match instantly.

When the DEX gets some steam, XCP will get some real momentum.

I believe the founders didn’t envision the burn of xcp for asset creation to drive the price of XCP, but the demand for the reserve currency.

XCP is the Bitcoin inside Bitcoin

1.) You place an order and it gets mined in a block 2.) Someone else places a matching order and it gets mined in a block 3.) The CP system order matches 4.) the BUYER has 20 blocks to send a BTCPay payment to the seller or else the order match expires.... and the whole thing starts back at 1 with the next buyer.

Using BTC on DEX requires 3 transactions..... 1.) buyer place order 2) seller place order 3) buyer send BTC for order match

XCP is the default currency used on the DEX, but any asset can be traded on the dex against any other asset.

you fork Counterparty to something like Monacoin with faster blocks, it translates to faster DEX.

THe reason BTC is difficult to use on the DEX is because BTC can't be escrowed by the protocol... BTC lives outside of Counterparty, so it can not be trustlessly held and exchanged.... someone has to be there to send the BTC payment (or a wallet has to be open and watching to send the BTCpayment)

when the transaction gets into block, that is when it gets processed

can't speak to times... depends on when you submit and how much of a tx fee you pay

you can submit a tx and have it processed in 1 minute or less if your luck.... you also could submit a tx with a low fee and have it take days to process... so timing questions are irrelevant... timing is based on how much you pay for the tx

Orders execute when the transaction is mined.... no preference of one asset over the other.... Bitcoin mines the tx and the order tha the transactions are in the block determines what order they are processed in

When I say fills are instant, I meant if your order matches and your tx fee is high enough, it’s going to process within 10 minutes or less.

Yes, you can use BTC on the DEX if you use Freewallet.io desktop wallet... tho when buying something with BTC, you need to leave freewallet open in order to listen for order matches and send the BTC payment to the seller within 20 blocks
