Do assets need to have art associated with them? I have some good noncertified pepes that I haven't made art for yet. Can I add those?
-
Yes, I think for now they need art
-
What about my MERICAPEPE? It's not certified, but it has art that go's with it.

This sounds absurd but I think XCP could be worth more than BTC one day. It is the reserve currency for BTC assets with a 1/10 of the supply of BTC. When real life assets get on CP, the reserve will skyrocket with very low supply.
BTC is a security network, BTC needs to protect other assets. -

I have a question and I'd appreciate it if someone could give me an educated answer because I have no idea. I own 1800 XCP tokens on Binance. Last year in August they delisted it. Unfortunately for reasons I'd rather not disclose, I could not move them to a hard wallet or another exchange at that time. I think it's BS but now that I can move them, Binance wants .25 BTC to recover them. Is it worth it?
-
Cheaper than a lawyer?
It may not be worth it now,
but one day it may. By then it'll be too late -
That's my concern. Will it be worth it, or is XCP a dead issue?
-
Trust me, it was
-
-
Xcp wasnt on binance afaik

Only xcp asset there was triggers

need a bit of help with the game tho xd, i've been playin a lot and won at least 4 different cards but in Transaction History all of them appear like PEPECASH with the same card art
-
Cool. Why do you think you won somthing other than PepeCash?
-
-
maybe im just confused
-
trying to upload a screenshot but tg wont let me
-
-
-
i now why im confused, and that my needed to be scrolled up a little lol
-
i now, let me explain why is confusing
-
when you dont win yo see
Scratch offID
A pepecard
A mini nakamoto card always, and the Asset DATA of the big card on the side
Winner click to collect button
and the sorry not a winner message -
when you aind you see
Scratch offID
(in this case) PEPECASH CARD
Another mini card with its data (not nakamoto like always)
Winner click to collect button -
-
edited the messages for more clarity
-
-
i know, but when you win then it changes to another random card, and the ASSET DATA changes from showing the data from the big card to showing the data from the new random mini card
-
thats why i thought i won different cards
-
-
probably people dont notice and they just look at the big card and thats it haha
-
-
yes like that
-
-
np, thank u for your efforts :D
-
-
-
that would be a cool feature and will work as marketing too, noice
-
-
Hi pepecash devs! Could you fix this? All images of cards are broken on rarepepwallet.com

You'll want to DM the developer @hodlencoinfield directly as he isn't in here

no... would need to setup a LN network for each asset... AFAIK it is possible, but would only make sense for high volume assets like XCP.... MPMA, batching, and MCAT (Multiparty Counterparty Aggregate Transactions) and something like hazama are the solutions for fast/cheap moving of CP assets
-
CIP Proposal (13) MCAT - Multiparty Counterparty Aggregate Transaction
The MCAT message allow multiple transactions from multiple addresses to be grouped together in one transaction in order to save transaction space. Please see the whole work-in-progress CIP at: This CIP proposal builds on @chiguireitor’s work on MPMA sends. It extends the concept to public 3rd party aggregation servers.
-
MCAT = many people batching their transactions together into a single batch transaction to reduce tx fee costs... also allows MCAT node operators to accept payment for usage of the node using other assets... ie... you could do a MPMA send to 1000 people, and pay the BTC tx fee using FLDC or XCP or PEPECASH.... whatever the MCAT node operator has setup 🙂
-
its still in the idea phase.... prolly will get a VM and oracled dispeners before MCAT... but, we do have possible options to reduce tx fees even lower as BTC price continues to skyrocket.
-
-
for MCAT... you would probably just choose your desired MCAT server.... one MCAT server might accept PEPECASH payment... one might accept XCP as payment for tx fees...... your send would just be a normal send, and in the UI you would just select an option to send via MCAT instead of a normal send.... kinda like you choose now if you want to do a single send or a multi-send (MPMA)... you will have a 3rd option of "MCAT Batching"
-
prolly questions better posed to @chiguireitor .... I am just regurgitating what i've heard from conversations on the topics 🙂
-
Mcat needs more technicals fleshed out before going out of concept phase
-
Lightning is kinda hard for non utxo based coins, would require setting up assets at an specific address for LN purposes exclusively and then opening a channel. You could exchange an MPMA pre-image on a specially crafted multisig address....
-
Again, needs some technicals fleshed out
-
Would it settle onto the main chain though?
-
correct, would just be a normal BTC tx... .tho a rather large one
-
Isn't CP a utxo based protocol?
-
it's a ledger-based protocol running over an utxo-based network
-
i herd ya like a blockchain so we made a blockchain in a blockchain so you can blockchain while you blockchain

Hope you had a seed backup. Btw, FreePort is compatible with any other chrome-based browser. I use Vivaldi which doesn’t have the Google tracking junk. Also you can get Chrome extensions to work
With Firefox pretty easily -
Awesome, thanks. Good to know. The more I think about Freeport, the more I like it. Great idea. So easy, fast and cheap to create readable tokens.
-
-
-
-
-
-
it seems to be that because it is harder for humans to memorize long numbers these were perceived as less valuable than reservations of the namespace. Therefore spam fees apply to names. Freeport is great!
-
What I like about the A assets is even if XCP was $10k a coin, that wouldn’t slow down the issuance of assets.
-
By design, you can't encode a 8 byte id that starts with A because it's representation is zero
-
The algorithm takes the index of a letter in an "alphabet" adds it to the id and then bitshifts it
-
Personally I am not a fan of numeric assets.... I think they are freeloaders who aren't paying their fair share of XCP to register an asset.... technically, issuing a numeric asset puts just as much strain on the CP database as issuing a named asset (same amount of database records written, etc), no difference, so I feel that numeric assets should pay the same XCP anti-spam fee that named assets pay..... plus I believe people want to own ASSETNAME not some random A1382109382101 numeric asset.
That being said, I can see some value in keeping "free" numerics around for now just so that we have a "comparable" feature to some other projects where they allow issuing of tokens using only BTC and no intermediate token (XCP)... While I don't think most projects will want to use a numeric asset long-term, I can see some value in allowing people to play around with numeric assets before commiting to a named asset (honestly tho, that is what testnet is for, playing around with CP). IMO Numerics are for noobs and people who are just learning about CP. I think anyone who takes the time to learn about CP should quickly see the value in issuing subassets instead of numerics, because subassets are tied to the parent asset, and use a friendly name vs a random number (A4839048928432). I think most people would rather have ARTIST.ARTWORK1, ARTIST.ARTWORK2, ARTIST.ARTWORK3, etc... vs having a bunch of random numerics asset not associated with one another.
Now that numeric assets have a real use case in CP (subassets), and that use case charges an anti-spam fee (0.25 XCP to register a subasset), numerics are here to stay in CP... Tho I could see "free" numeric assets being disabled in the future as they are an attack vector.... wouldn't be that difficult for someone to spam numeric issuances at a low tx fee, which would effect the CP database and its size/speed, and effectively make every call to CP a bit slower.... this can be mitigated a bit in the near-term by moving to a faster database (from sqlite to mysql)... but longer-term, I think "free" numerics should be removed.
Then again, I have a very unique perspective, as I own over 15,000+ named assets, and I maintain the xchain/Counterparty database which continues to grow with each transaction and asset issued... so, i'm uniquely aware of how CP has changed over the years and the database has grown and slowed down over time..... so I might be just a bit biased 🙂 -
There are also some signifigant improvements that can be made to the structure of the internal CP database that will increase speed dramatically..... currently in the CP database (sqlite) every address, transaction hash, and asset name are writtten to the database tables directly... which results in the database being MUCH larger than it needs to be, and most queries/searches result in a full table scan (slowest method) to lookup results instead of using indexes..... this is what I do with counterparty2mysql... index all the addresses, transactions, and assets... so instead of writing "XCP" 10,000 times to a database, now we write a single number which references the asset "XCP"... and are able to do searches MUCH faster..... just to give you an idea of size difference... current CP database (sqlite) is 5.1 gigs yet when I index away all the addresses/transactions/assets, the data footprint in the mysql database is 2.6 gigs.... so 1/2 the size and much MUCH faster
-
FYI... internal database change is coming in future releases 🙂
-
Thanks excellent explanation
-
As with everything I say.... this is just my opinion.... community consensus drives the features here 🙂
-
That's dope
-
I can't wait to see those
-
Thanks John

If XCP was ever $10k a coin, CP couldn’t expect users to pay that to issue a coin for their small business or piece of art. Just raise TX fee amount required to deter. Even if it’s $50. That’s fair for everyone.
A assets are an outlet for fair pricing and equality of access to the Bitcoin Blockchain for all. -
-
i've done some tests already and will probably be releasing a bunch of CIPs regarding features and changes to the XCP codebase that will make the daemon not only run faster, but also consume less resources
-
writing about 5 cips, one of those the VM
-
good resources dedicated to the VM?
-
yup, along with 2 years of support
-
no sense on releasing a vm and not having a plan to fix stuff along the way
-
color me impressed. smart and takes up less space!
-
When you say two years of support, meaning it’s included in the CIP cost?
-
Yup

Xcp was ahead of it's time Nfts and defi are big on ethereum. Xcp was not great with the fees but just do a uniswap with fees that have touched 15 bucks.
-
Because I was using the assets to represent actual grams of physical product that originated from a specific plant. As those grams of product were sold, the asset would be burnt accordingly. When the entire batch of product finally sold, the entire issuance of that asset would be burnt.
