Does tokenly run on counterparty? Is there anyone from that here?

Not right now. It did. But the demand wasn’t there so they shut down a while ago.

They’re all doing something, though I’m confused as to what exactly.

I want to sell Satoshicard(Spells of Genesis Counterparty token) at https://paddle.bid/auctions/637113ff-3a55-444c-9619-d6dcad8467baAuction: Legendary crypto collectible series: Satoshicard (Spells of Genesis Counterparty token)
This is a Spells of Genesis(SoG) game asset as well as a legendary crypto art/collectible issued on Counterparty. SoG is the first notable game to tokenize game items on blockchain and pioneered the crypto art and collectibles well before the concept is more widely recognized as NFT and as such. https://spellsofgenesis.com No need to explain Satoshicard to the SoG fans. One of the earliest and most rare and famous SoG cards. Limited supply of 200. (800 was burned after creation) Satoshicard info on a Counterparty explorer. https://xchain.io/asset/SATOSHICARD

Do you like it. Can you DM me to deal it!
-
we do stuff trustlessly in counterparty... not really sure anyone is going to DM you direct for an OTC deal... as there is too much risk of being ripped off by an unknown person/entity.... probably better sticking with your auction, or putting the card up for sale on the Decentralized Exchange (DEX) or in a Dispenser (Vending machine)

Thank you so much. Now, I try to sell or make auction at opensea.io. But it's very difficult to find a guide to sell XCP token on opensea.io

That feeling when you have to get to page 282 before you learn about Counterparty
-
-
Lol that this book published in 2020 still references armory and explains that Counterparty allows the development of smart contracts on Ethereum using the Solidity language.
-
Cryptocurrency scholarship is pretty shit right now
-
yeah... partly our fault for never scrubbing the EVM/Solidity/Smart contracts language from the counterparty.io site... been on the todo list for a while, but never got around to it..... hoping the new site that replaces counterparty.io is much improved 🙂

This is partly our fault for never getting around to scrubbing the smart contract/EVM/ETH references from the counterparty.io site.... once the new site launches hopefully those will go away 🙂

If your having issues using freewallet on mobile or desktop... try changing the settings to match the above settings.... by default mobile routes all traffic through public.coindaddy.io API... which can get overloaded at times... the above settings which point to api.counterparty.io load-balance requests between a few different servers, so should work for ya 🙂

wish someone would tell this person about how to properly issue assets and supply.... This can be done outside of Counterparty already by someone running a 3rd party site (setup site, anytime a sale happens, kick back a percentage to the artists, etc).... Doesn't require a platform modification.... this works on WAX/ETH because smart contracts are created and all buys/sells/sends are forced to happen in the contract... Counterparty has a different architecture where the actions are in an open system where anyone can do whatever they want (send, issue, etc) and are not forced into the strict confines of using a smart contract (which is a good thing, as we have seen on ETH, smart contracts can be hacked/exploited.... even very recent examples of NFTs being stolen from buyers, or contracts being bricked because of smart contract exploits/flaws)
-
if this HAD to be implemented on CP this is how I would do it:
1.) create a new type of 'issuance' (Royalty issuance) where asset issuer could specify royalty is required for sending token
2.) create a new type of 'send' where the send of token only happens if it includes a tx hash of the royalty payment
3.) CP could check if the tx hash of the "royalty payment" actually paid the asset issuer address and then allow the send of the token
Drawbacks
1.) Still wouldn't be able to escrow BTC... so all the "royalty payments" would be a manual send of BTC (2nd tx)
2.) CP wouldnt be able to verify sale amount... would only be able to verify that the "royalty payment" transaction included some payment of BTC to the issuer address
TLDR... CP is a framework for issuing/sending/trading tokens and the more complex functionality should be happening in L2 solutions, not on the protocol level... this 'royalty' feature is best done by a 3rd party/company as it would be a smoother UI and much easier to manage... -
-
it would still be a difficult multi-step process even using an escrow-able asset..... as the sender of the token (seller) would need a way to 1.) collect funds from the buyer and 2.) send royalty payment to the artist.... action 1 would require verification from the buyer that this is an action they want to allow (take funds from their address/account)..... so, not ideal.... 3rd party L2 solution is best as it can be made into a single click type action for the user via a nice UI
-
Lessons From the Nifty Gateway NFT Heist: Not Your Keys, Not Your Art
After what appears to be the first NFT heist, what can we take away from the Nifty Gateway hack?
-
"Not your Keys, not your NFT"... best takeaway
-
😎ON THE VERGE😎
@KeyboardMonkey3 @niftygateway This honestly raises more questions than it answers
-
-
No, the third party L2 solution would not need to hold the artwork... it could make external calls to wallets to sign transactions in users wallets (like metamask) and never need hold the actual token itself.... Also, the ETH/WAX smart contracts are exactly what you describe above... centralized... as all transactions have to go through the smart contract, not decentralized, which is why they are targets for exploits/flaws.
-
An example... Coindaddy holds 0 asset ownerships... and yet allows buyers to make purchase offers, sellers to agree to purchase offers, for payment to be made into an escrow system, and for the seller to transfer asset ownership to the buyer, all without Coindaddy ever holding asset ownership... all Coindaddy does is hold/escrow the funds until the seller has done the desired action (transfer asset ownership to the buyer), then releases the escrowed funds to the seller.... 3rd party L2 solutions are very flexible and things can be done in many different ways, as demonstrated above.
-
-
Like the sounds of the coindaddy NFT marketplace
-
That's not a complete solution though. It allows for a royalty fee on the first sale, as long as the artist trusts the third party escrow to distribute the funds accordingly. But then if the asset gets sold again on dex or dispenser, there's no way to do make it have a royalty.
-
-
I don't want to be argumentative but I would like to state that some artists are against this kind of practice. It comes down to the individual's moral compass and where their purpose in creating art lies.
Personally I see a problem with commissions of sales happening for all eternity. while it is reasonable to believe that access to wallets could be lost. And yet these accounts would be accruing percentages that are untouched, and for what reason?
For example, out of the dozens of descendants of Leonardo da Vinci who gets the commission from the bear that sold recently?
I would even go as far as to say if someone buys art, but not from the artist, the logical step is to support the artist by buying artwork directly from them next time.
For example I might find a CD at a second hand shop and enjoy it so much that I buy a track directly from the artist on bandcamp or by their album retail or tickets/merch so that they can get some of the sales. -
-
-
-
Again, these "features" can be built into the 3rd party L2 marketplaces.... if you want to have something where all the asset sales are done through a smart contract and artists are forced to use your rails/solutions, then perhaps ETH or WAX is the solution you should be using.... CP is a different beast, is an open, decentralized, TRUSTLESS platform with basic functions, and we are not going to be adding features to force people to use the system in certain ways which have clearly been proven flawed in the past (again, 99% of NFTs on ETH are done through centralized smart contracts which can be bricked.... not a truly decentralized platform)..... the value prop of CP is being on the strongest chain with an open innovative platform people can build on, not forcing users to have all their asset sales go through a specific smart contract which can be hacked/exploited/bricked.
-
Profiteers make profit.
Artists make art.
This is a fleecer's market after all. So yeah... Lemmings don't know how to deal with the precipice. I have caution following the uninformed whims of the masses -
I appreciate your feedback art... but you continue to try and force ETH style centralized ideas on CP... which leads me to believe that you do not understand the value prop of Counterparty being an open, decentralized TRUSTLESS system.... I've tried to explain it a few times, but you continue to keep coming back to centralized ideas "because you can do X on ETH"... we are not going to be adding features to CP unless there is community demand for those features, and the way that community demand will be established is by users building out L2 solutions to show that indeed, there IS a market for the idea.... unlike ETH, we don't just come up with ideas and implement them into the protocol without careful review and demand for the features.
-
-
yes, use the existing features of CP, build an 3rd party L2 solution... once you have a marketplace with tons of artists and buyers/sellers and they all are enjoying the kickback/royalty features your project offers, then we can have another discussion about adding some features to the protocol to make your L2 solution work easier... we are open to ideas and making changes to the protocol, but there has to be a proven demand for said features, not just a feeling.
-
-
why do users use the existing marketplace sites? because they are "easy".... if you make creating/buying/selling/trading NFTs and tokens easy, there is no reason users would not use it... you also COULD use the dex... take a look at RPW as an example... a simple wallet interface layered over the DEX and poof... took off
-
But it doesn't do the thing I'm talking about, and really wouldn't be able to.
-
People always prefer simple interfaces
-
-
I have a project on my radar to create/mint/buy/sell/curate/create collections in a simple to use website based on CP, and yes, it also could include royalty/kickback functions..... it is a few months out as I am busy working on other projects... but, if you can't figure out how to build it on your own, just wait a while... .already aware of multiple marketplaces being built
-
-
Yea, but that's custodial. Kind of defeats the point, no?
-
xcer.co is one that was just created... granted, it is limited in scope, but I am aware of 2 other CP marketplace sites being built right now..... just because you don't see the projects right now, or can't conceptualize how they would work in your head, doesn't mean that it "wouldn't work"..... either get creative and build something, or wait a bit and see what others build
-
Yup, but you can also modulate
-
-
non-custodial sites can be created where buying/selling/trading is done.... ala clickable links that hand off to wallets like metamask or freewallet
-
https://mafiawars.io/ has a non-custodial wallet... and a site where users can buy/sell/send/gift cards.... all while having no access to user funds or to user assets.... granted, the wallet is an in-site wallet which is less ideal than a completely external wallet like metamask (as you have to trust that the mafiawars.io wallet is a reputable wallet and will not take your funds or extract your passphrase, so less than ideal)... but, a good example of how things can be done in a mostly trustless way.... if the site just used an external wallet like metamask or passed links to freewallet to sign transactions, then it would be 100% trustless (you wouldn't need to trust the in-site wallet)
-
another example of how things can be done in many different ways... just need to get creative with your L2 solutions and think them through and make the as trustless as possible
-
-
Am I correct in my understanding that this platform just displays cards that are on dex, and just provides a wallet for people to interact with the dex or send an asset?
-
yes, after reviewing wallet code that appears to be what it does
-
Quickbooks is the perfect example, the biggest POS software, but millions of because it’s very easy to use.
-
Adding trade offers and NFTs on next update. Will be able to offer up to four cards/NFTs to any other user for X card.
New users will also get a free NFT starter pack with signup.
Completely centralized, but can withdraw if you want decentralization.
However trades and sends are free and instant. -
So that really wouldn't work for what I'm trying to do. It could kinda be done if the L2 platform creates a tx with 2 outputs such that one output go's to the asset owner for the royalty, and one output go's the token seller for the (sale price - royalty), then sent off to be signed by the token purchaser's wallet.
The problem with that though, is that the token buyer can then go on to resell the token on dex without the royalty being charged. Unless the L2 can set up some sort of walled garden to keep the assets sold through the platform from being put up on dex or dispensers. That defeats the point of CP though. -
Your correct... we don't want to force users into a walled garden where they cant do what they want with the assets/tokens... however, you could setup a tracking system which tracks asset/nft movements of NFTs sold on your platform, assumes every movement/send is a sale, and if someone sells/sends an NFT outside of your system after agreeing to the terms of your platform, you could penalize them by not allowing them to do any additional actions until they put in information about the sale and paid the royalty .... it would not be strictly as enforced as you would like, but there are ways to "encourage" users to do the right thing in your platform.... also, your 100% correct in that the ideal way to do this would be to create a send tx with 2 outputs (one to seller, one to asset owner) and then hand that URI over to the buyer to have them click, which would then pass to a wallet like freewallet to sign and broadcast the transaction independent of your platform.
- 10 July 2021 (32 messages)
-
I suppose I could penalize the buyer for selling it outside of my platform by confiscating the asset. Does the recall feature still work? That would accomplish the goal of making sure people use my third party platform, but then it's essentially a defacto walled garden.
-
-
That’s exactly how royalties work in eth though
-
They aren’t enforced if sold via another contract
-
It definitely seems like you would rather have complete control over a private database.
I'm not sure what kind of cryptoart system you're creating when you are focused on overriding people's rights to do as they will. -
Forced commission? 😲
I don't understand the focus on trying to imitate people who abuse their position of middleman.
Situation kind of reminds me of Western medicines idea of treating the symptoms and not the cause.
Counterparty is efficient and powerful in its own right and it also has a logical projected path for its own enhanced features which aren't great for retrofitting ideals -
The transaction fee paid to miners is built-in forced commission/rent seeking. We consent to it and consider it one of the bedrocks of bitcoin.
-
What middleman are you talking about? The entire conversation and questions I have been presenting are to PREVENT myself from becoming a middleman.
-
Who is forced into the garden? Don’t they necessarily have to voluntarily participate in the transaction? One may not like the business model, but the same things that can make a digital asset rare might likewise secure the business model decided upon by the creator.
Many people will voluntarily forgo participating in any such exchanges, and perhaps many people will do so not knowing the artist/creator gets a cut of the sale, but that’s not any different than the status quo except it allows the artist/creator to define their own rules, rather than relying on the intellectual media monopoly system -
A walled garden is a bad business model. I'm trying to figure out how to avoid it. It's hard.
-
J-dog is one of the few people who is able to explain to me why some of my ideas are stupid, and hopefully help me make them not stupid, or at least less stupid.
-
Your ideas are not ever stupid, just not appropriate yet for a change in the protocol…. Nothing but love for your enthusiasm Art😀👍🏻
-
Lol whut. Hi
-
I know 😁
-
'I suppose I could penalize the buyer for selling it outside of my platform by confiscating the asset. '
-
Suit yourself
-
Yes. That's an example I'd whatbim trying to NOT do.
-
????? 0 K
-
I'm trying to make a way for artists to get paid royalties WITHOUT a middleman
-
Everyone needs to eat.
Greedy people want money.
Speaking in absolutes means there is going to be no discussion. Ignore valid points.
An actual conversation would be nice. But that means each party takes turns listening. Lmk when you're ready to -
When people want to transact on the blockchain they are forced to pay a kind of admission or toll to have their transaction included in the block. We call this a transaction fee, or a miner fee. Depending on how many transactions sit in the mempool, one might be forced to pay a hefty toll to get their transaction processed in a timely fashion.
-
I don't even know what you're talking about.
-
-
I think you forgot to use the word 'want' in that statement. Ok np. 4am and all
'I don't even Want to know what you're talking about.'
Fixed it for you. Lmk when you change your mind and want an actual conversation with full on listening skills -
strange... I just restarted services on the API servers... please try again in freewallet
-
Can you turn your nose any higher? I think it’s already rubbing against the ceiling.
-
If I have a private key, like from a cracked emblem vault, how to import the XCP asset into freewallet? Can't seem to find it. do I need to create an XCP tx from it?
-
You’re using freewallet desktop?

Should I be nervous about this 40k PEPECASH dispenser i hit for 0.01 that has 3 confs but still looks active & no PEPECASH sent?
-
(Hit an XCP dispenser that worked fine, the PEPECASH dispenser is a '3' address vs. the usual '1' address like the XCP)

how did you generate that address? not using a traditional counterparty wallet eh?
-
-
-
hrm... might work for some features.. clearly not for all... please use traditional addresses which are generated in counterparty compatible wallets like legacy (starts with 1) or bech32 (starts with bc) to avoid having issues like this in the future
-
also.. please create a separate issue on github for not being able to close the dispenser... https://github.com/counterpartyXCP/counterparty-lib/issuesIssues · CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-lib

-
Could be your pepecash is locked in the dispenser until someone can get around to finding/fixing the issue with your 3 address
-
Ok, I sometimes get confused multiple addresses that’s why used an exchange address
-
Could you explain why the dispenser with an exchange address not showing in FreeWallet?
-
Isn’t that a multisig address?
-
because you didn't generate the address in freewallet..... you can open a dispenser on ANY address without any counterparty balance history.... but, you should only be opening dispensers on addresses that are generated in counterparty compatible wallets (legacy and segwit/bech32 addresses)
-
It’s an exchange address
-
How long do dispensers last? Assuming it's in some state of segwit fuckery now, when dispenser ends the 40k PEPECASH will go back to original address?
-
you were doing something outside of the norm.... so, yeah, your experiencing abnormal behavior.. had you used a normal address or bech 32 address, you would be having no issues
-
make sure you only open up dispensers on addresses you own.... ie, ones you have the private key
-
dispensers stay open forever... they do not expire.. only way they close is if someone sends funds to drain the dispenser or if the address closes the dispenser... which in this case sounds like both are failing
-
so, your prolly stuck with your PC in the dispenser until some dev gets around to un-fucking your 3 address hackery
-
-
with dispensers?
-
Let this be a lesson to you... use addresses generated in counterparty compatible wallets... not exchange addresses
-
Yes
-
you accepted payment on a 3 address before and it dispensed? please point to the transaction/dispenser that shows the transaction
-
I suppose the lesson to the buyer is to ignore '3' address dispensers
-
yes... lesson here is to use addresses generated in Counterparty... not exchange addresses... 99.9% of the time anytime someone says "exchange address" the next words out of their mout are "problem"... (I sent funds to the exchagne address.. I paid from the exchange address, etc etc)
-
plenty of cases of people sending funds from an exchange address to a dispenser, then the dispenser doing what it is supposed to do, and sending back the tokens to the sending address.... but since it is an exchange address and you have no access to the private keys, you cant claim the tokens
-
yeah as soon as @cryptien said exchange address I knew it was gonna be pain
-
Lesson here is USE NORMIE ADDRESSES 😛
-
legacy (start with 1) or segwit/bech32 (start with bc)
-
can avoid almost all problems with that simple rule 🙂
-
lunch time 🙂
-
thanks for the info Jdog
-
-
FYI just want to thank @cryptien for making the broken dispenser right and sending me the 40k pepecash
-
-
Maybe the best thing to do is have the wallet software not allow dispenser creation for multisig addresses

Who are they?
Spells of Genesis and Rare Pepes definitely have enough references out there.
https://themerkle.com/spells-of-genesis-satoshicard-sells-for-us3700/ This is of great significance, the first major sale in the NFT space at $3,700.
Of course, HOMERPEPE sold for $39,000 a couple of years later, setting a new bar. There are plenty of links to that, plus its more recent sale at $320k.
Then there’s the original announcement from the bitcoin talk forum, which mentions it being used by artists. “The primary goal of Counterparty is to enable entrepreneurs, developers, artists and more to build a new, productive economy: doing things that have never been done before, made possible by the amazing technology behind Bitcoin.”
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=395761.0
I have never edited a Wikipedia page, but if anyone here has experience doing so, that’s a few good reference points to work off of.Spells of Genesis SatoshiCard Sells For US$3,700The Spells of Genesis blockchain-based trading card game has seen its fair share of success over the past few months. One of their in-game SatoshiCards recently sold for 1,280 XCP, worth nearly 6.65 B
-
they = wikipedia moderators - Ive had it before, write something but then use a themerkle reference to back it up
-
tried it with Coval - but didnt have any outside sources to back it up
-
Makes me think of One-Meg-Greg Maxwell, who was notorious for being a terrible Wikipedia admin to the point he was banned. The toxicity seems to persist throughout Wikipedia still and sadly within Bitcoin too.

Are unfamiliar with Rare Pepes on Counterparty, which helped push back on that narrative?

Yes, I am unfamiliar.

I generalized about USA, that was a poor choice on my part.

Yes, it won’t be fixed quickly, it will take time to research and find a dev who can look into the problem…. Which is why it is best to not play on the fringe of counterparty with multisig/exchange addresses…. It’ll get fixed in the future, but other issues are ahead of it in line
-
Ok but it’s also an important issue as it can affect other users!
-
Yes, it is an issue, and it will be fixed... but Dispensers have been out for 9+ months and your the first user to play on the fringe using a multisig address and be effected by this issue.... 99.9% of people just use addresses generated in counterparty compatible wallets, so this issue is not going to effect very many people. I am sorry and I wish we had more resources to get this issue fixed quickly, but unfortunately there are not many Counterparty devs and funding for development work is prettymuch non-existent..... The issue will be fixed, but it may take some time.
-
One guy already affected 😂, but I settled myself with him, anyway thanks and remember it once you get any chance to fix
-
-
FYI... You can setup multiple dispensers on the same address, you can also setup and close many dispensers on an address, provided you have the private key to the address.... The only thing you can't do is open up a dispenser on an address which is not the source address when it has had any XCP balances in the past (ie, you can only open dispensers on a different address than your own if the address has not had any XCP/asset balance history in the past)
-
Yes, thank you very much for making the person effected by this issue whole again... also, thank you very much for documenting this issue on github... it will for sure be fixed... There is a qualified dev who will be working on CP again very soon... currently he is focused on other projects, but when he has some time, he will be switching focus back to Counterparty and fixing some of these lingering bugs (like inability to use MPMA on segwit addresses, and your issue).... Thank you for your patience... I know it is a bit frustrating, but unfortunately this is the state we have been in for a few years due to the lack of funding.... but I can assure you that your issue WILL be fixed given some time 🙂
-
No Sir I face BTC holding error, means when I use a fresh address for a Dispenser and once it is closed/bought then it cannot be used again, it shows an error “cannot open on same address because it has BTC in history”
-
-
you can open a dispenser on that address again if you use that address as the SOURCE (ie, send BTC and asset to that address and then open the dispenser FROM that address)... what you are describing is opening a dispenser on a "new" address functionality... which can only be done once, once the "new" address has any XCP or asset balance history, it is no longer considered a "new" address and so THEN you get the message about having some hsitory associated with it)
-
-
you can open a dispenser as many times on an address that you own when that address is also the "source"... but having a source and dispenser address being different is basically "Open a dispensers on a new/empty address" functionality... and if the "new" address already has some XCP or asset history associated with it, then it is no longer considered "new" and so THEN you get the error about balances
-
This functionality was added to allow people to easily open up dispensers on "new" addresses, but not on addresses which have previously been used in Counterparty (we don't want to allow people to open up dispensers on other peoples addresses)
-
Source == where funds come from
-
Dispenser == where dispenser is setup
-
-
if source and dispenser address are the same, you can open as many dispensers as many times as you want 🙂

Join the XCP shill chat, and I’ll send you a pepe and some other cards if you want.

When sending divisible assets like PEPENATION, what amount do you put when sending from RarePepeWallet? I think I tried "1" the last time but it sent 0.00000001 do you put 100000000? Maybe it was freewallet i'm thinking of...
-
Freewallet should detect if it is a divisible or non-divisible asset and force you to 1 or 1.00000000 format
-
any idea about rare pepe wallet?
-
-
-
ty, used freewallet, put in 1.00000000, worked. Comes up as 100,000,000 on xchain
-
Just while tx is pending… when it settles into a block it’ll show proper
-
Pending shows as satoshis (cuz we don’t lookup if asset is divisible or not)

Recorded this during the NFTs Origins: The #Rarepepe Story Twitter space last night. When the host asked @wasthatawolf to explain what @CounterpartyXCP, I quickly grabbed my phone to record it. @artnome also killed it w/amazing thoughts. #Bitcoin $XCP Listen below 👇
-
Everyone should listen to that, such an incredible explanation on the spot.
I had to trim the video also and I just guessed when to start it, look where it starts.
And when Wasthatawolf gets cut off, I did not do that, but that was the perfect time to be cut off 😂 -
@jdogresorg is there an easy(ish) way to take the private key (from an emblem vault) and generate a tx to your main account? I suppose I'll need to import, load with some small btc, then make the tx.... yeah I think I answered my own question, it doesn't work like when you sweep a btc address to another wallet, because that has btc to pay the fee...
- 15 July 2021 (3 messages)
-
I have not done any work with the emblem vaults... so not familiar... but yeah, if you can get the private key and import it and fund it with some BTC, should work

i remember i was scott rolen for halloween one year
-
As a Cardinals fan, I became a big scott rolen fan
-
Weird voodoo story: I had a bobble head of rolen on our fireplace mantle, and my friend knocked it over breaking his leg. Later in the game, he suffered a leg injury running the bases.
-
-
finally got that world series in 2008 though with another lovable cast of characters
-
It was 2004, then Rolen was trash in the playoffs, and stupid Schilling with his bloody sock in the World Series
-
Looking back, he did homer late in game 7 of the NLCS though
-
Wild thing.. still remember him giving up that home run to carter
-
yeeep, was heart breaking
-
Another user was caught here, 2 people in 4 days !
-
Yes, I am aware… I am the one who sent him your way for a refund
-
Haha 😆 great answer
-
Now it’s more dangerous because if the HONESTY factor was not there, I would have collected lot of BTC for a long time 🤑🤑
-
All the more reason to not keep bringing it up and bringing attention to the issue and giving people ideas... it will get fixed when we have a chance.. if anyone sends BTC to your dispenser and asks, i'll point them your way 🙂
-
Yup, that’s why your a good standing citizen
-
Sure, I will either refund BTC or Pepecash whatever he wants. Hope it gets fixed the soonest
-
Thanks for being such an upstanding citizen sir... yet another reason why I love Counteparty, the community is generally full of really good people.

Everyone in this online space should be trustworthy, believe me I personally have been scammed many times, good & bad everywhere!

Dispensers, dex, dextrade

You can purchase from dispensers by sending BTC directly to the dispenser... but if you do so, make sure the dispenser (bitcoin address) your sending to starts with a 1 or with "bc" 🙂
-
Nope, this is my first time using CP
-
Thank you!
-
Hey @jdogresorg - is there anything that can be done to protect/warn the noobs that will be coming to CP to get PepeCash from the occasional misleading dispenser such as this one? Its an old trick I've seen used a number of times now, and it'll leave a bad taste for people coming in...
-
Not without a freewallet update... which is not something I have time to do right now
-
I am focused on a couple other projects right now... should have time to focus back on Counterparty and Freewallet updates near the end of August (next month)
-
great thanks bud
-
but agree with you that we should put some kinda of extra warning indicator / purchase confirmation anytime someone is purchasing less than 1 whole token
-
If you would be so kind as to create an issue on github for this so it doesn't fall off my radar, I will do my best to get it included in the next release... https://github.com/jdogresorg/freewallet-desktop/issuesIssues · jdogresorg/freewallet-desktop

will do

Mickey Mantle in dispensers 😆
Don’t know why I didn’t think of this before. Now I need to tokenize every XCER card 🤷♂️
And basically built a marketplace for no reason. Haha
No need for a marketplace. CP is the marketplace. No need for even an account at XCER. Even at withdraw and redemption. -
24 hours from now will be Counterparty’s first Developer meeting in over a year. While previously this has been hosted in other platforms, instead we are delighted to be able to use telegram due to recent upgrades. Please join us here Sunday, July 18th at noon EST on the voice channel for an informal meeting about what recent upgrades Counterparty has had in the last year. This will also be a great opportunity to showcase something you have been working on! Please reach out to this account, @krostue, as soon as you are able if you are interested in presenting.

Closer to 3 years it feels like. Nice!

I think a node went down, RPW not sending and Freewallet not updating. would ❤️ that list of alternative RPC's that I should have saved when @jdogresorg posted it a few months ago
-
Not sure why you think things are down... I just tested api1 and api2 and they are working fine, as is freewallet
-
-
-
-
-
-
all are working fine... please check platform.counterparty.io in the future before claiming things are down... as all seems to be up and operational
-
could be your specific IP address is blocked by xchain for making too many requests too quickly...that is the only thing I can think of as to why things are working for everyone else but not for you.... switch your IP address, or wait 15 minutes and try again... if fail2ban blocked your IP address for abuse, should be removed from the list in about 15 minutes
-
I certainly will, sorry for the alarm.

Thanks J-Dog and great job with Free Wallet. I guess I do have one question - In the DISPENSERS section you can create an "Add Watchlist" to view the dispensers for a specific PEPE. Is there a "view all dispensers" function in Free Wallet? (similar to the dispensers section in Xchain?)
