You can vote for multiple candidates, but one broadcast per candidate vote.

As I announced in the voting thread, JOE LOONEY will be coming up with the voting status page for the election as we have done in the past.... Why would anyone talk about election interference? Well, perhaps because the stats on this page are wrong already..... Dan's address holds only 9 XCP.... yet he cast 3 votes for 50 XCP each which normally would be invalid... yet on Dan's scoreboard mysteriously all of his votes are valid.

Correct.... The first few votes were calcuated on blockscan.com... then that explorer went away and for the last few years Joe Looney has helped out by writing the scoreboard and hosting it himself.

It makes sense to me to host it on the official counterparty site. I guess that’s something for a foundation to decide on though, maybe for next election... the foundation seats will be held for one full year only, right?

Correct, current term is one year, tho I imagine that could be changed if the entire foundation voted to do so... but yes, one year is what the term has been in the past, and i think it makes sense to keep term at 1 year..... no term limits to, so someone can run in consecutive years 🙂

No, I am not in charge of counterparty, I am simply the person who was elected by the previous foundation to hold the dev funds, and person who was handed over the Counterparty properties when robby left the project. As I have gone over with you MANY times in the past, all the properties and funds are owned by the Counterparty community, funds have been spent only things the CP foundation has voted to spend funds on, and I am happy to hand over control of these properties to whomever the foundation would like.

So out of this we've come up with two questions that we need answers to. Number one what happens if our xcp are in escrow, can we still use them to vote? And number two, what scoreboard will the community deem official? Perhaps the nominees should determine which scoreboard is air quotes official.

In all fairness, Dan marked his scoreboard as unofficial. The vote broadcasts are public, so anyone can create their own scoreboard. It's not a privelege. I thought it was nice to see the old election results, and I imagine Dan would appreciate any feedback to improve what he is presenting for the community.

If escrowed-XCP clear before the end of the voting period, a double vote could potentially occur. One could create a buy order for an asset only they control with a different address. Once the escrowed-XCP vote is broadcasted, they could fill the order then potentially vote again (or is there a method of voiding addresses that receive XCP during the voting period?).

No, escrowed funds are taken out of the users wallet and held in escrow on the DEX.... you can verify this by looking at the credits/debits info when placing an order, funds are immediately debited from the balance.

Once a year is not too often, imho, to use XCP as the one major unadvertised primary function. Depending on what the user's priorities are I expect the majority of holders to not vote.

TTBOMK, if some one would like to ask officially on the thread, my answer would ba along the lines of using the most recent approved code with only changes that are required for it to function correctly, such as updating API of a BTC explorer. There should be no added "features" at this time.

Good thing to clarify before any future elections, if there are any, because expectations could easily be otherwise based on how the CP games tend to work. i.e. it's easy to implement either way, but should be made clear to all before voting starts.

A candidate could broadcast 1,000 votes for themselves without having the XCP, then make a decision if they want to actually buy their votes later on before the deadline.

Correct, you could do this. The vote would count if at the end voting block the XCP was actually in the address balance and not escrowed.

Wait so where are they when debited? I thought the dex was non-custodial? In which case you should have control (and be able to vote with them) while they are in escrow...

The funds are taken out of your personal address balance and escrowed on the DEX in the order.... This is so that the funds in orders are guaranteed to be available as advertised... otherwise things could go haywire if I put up an order to sell 1000 XCP, left the balance in my address, and then sent the 1000 XCP elsewhere... the order would go to execute, see I don't have 1000 XCP in my balance, and the order would fail.... XCP is escrowed by the DEX in a non-custodial way (no node operators can get access to your funds)... only way funds come off the DEX is if order is cancelled, order executes, or order expires... at which point any escrowed funds come back to your balance

I'm not sure where you got that from. I'm fond of anybody who has things to say about counterparty so you fall into that grouping.
Rich is a tricky word. I aim to be philosophically rich and rich in ideas. Being fiat rich is different than being xcp rich and BTC rich.
Investing in something I believe in seems to be a no-brainer which is why I choose to donate towards the cause I'm fighting for. -
