I'm becoming quite concerned that insufficient candidate choice could mean we are saddled with immature or irrational foundation directors at a time when that's the last thing Counterparty needs.

I think we need to have a serious conversation about re-opening the nominations for a week, while voting is still under way.

I'd also suggest that all candidates need to be KYC'd and felony status checked with relevant authorities in their countries of citizenship and residence.

Copying my Chainrift review from Rare Pepe Group to here for those interested

I have been in contact with ChainRift, as I am testing FLDC for listing there. I found their support to be prompt and helpful, the exchange has KYC implemented so you need to go thru that before you can even deposit (this is actually a good thing cause there are exchanges that dont ask you to KYC until you try to withdraw, this way you find out before its too late) Also, several US states are exempted from trading on this exchange (they said they are working with regulators to get more states approved) They have a lot of security measures in place so I feel like it is hard for hackers to to get in there and try to drain my account without me getting alerted. I like the way the screens look, and I see all the basic stuff like deposit and withdrawal history, trading history are organized well also. This is all my initial impression so far, from going through all the steps to make sure that FLDC deposits and withdrawals will work and not be delayed a lot. One thing to mention is that they use memos for deposits, so if your wallet doesn't have a memo field for sending a TX, you can always use freewallet.io with same passphrase. The withdrawal fees are probably a bit higher that we all would like, I think they have not had help yet with figuring out how to do the sweeps in a more efficient manner. In any case, it looks like this is easier to use than some other small exchanges I have tried. You can go to their telegram group also if you need help, it's called ChainRift Community.

XCP is a token that was created as an anti-spam mechanism, but it is not needed by most people to use XCP..... 99% of users just receive a CP token, then send that CP token somewhere using BTC and never touch XCP

After meeting him in person, it did not take long to figure out that there was a huge disconnect between the words used and the validity of ideas behind them. There is no understanding of community or blockchain in those empty eyes. It is unfortunate if someone is wasting money encouraging him to make a mess of things everywhere he goes.
There were several issues that came up along the way during planning for RareAF that also contributed to the idea that incompetence is his greatest strength and it backed by attempting to utilize language for the prevention of cohesion.
I am glad to see one of our trolls gone. As we see feeding trolls will only embolden them. They cannot be reasoned with, but simply need to be eliminated once identified.
While i would like to pretend that there are no problems, the fact of the matter is that this is just the beginning. I'm sure as this project gets its momentum going again there will be many more veiled attempts to derail our momentum. It is unfortunate that members of our community have been unapologetically targeted for attempting to keep decency a norm.
I look forward to this room returning to having a constructive conversation on how to move the project forward in positive ways

So in answering the questions and thinking about the foundation I wanted to lob an idea into the public I've thought about for a while but just started really researching last night - it relates to how are we gonna keep funding counterparty.

I come from an academic background, and while I have no idea if any of these committees would even consider us, I think it can't hurt to apply to grants from for example the National Science Foundation (NSF) I've found a few already that's box i think we can check - the main purpose of this post is to open up discourse about this direction of funding. I know some people my have a knee jerk opposition to "government funding" but if you feel that way I hope you will look into the mission and purpose of NSF funded work and realize any money they could give us for upkeep, servers, code review, whatever - would not be controlled by them if they choose to fund us

Our pitch would basically be about economic activity and artistic expression and markets. Allowing our platform to exist promotes artistic expression which in itself is valueble, which can be quantified (e.g. sog, rare pepe, bitcorns, mafia wars, etc) and how the continuation of this will empower individuals
