We already announced multiple times that XCP, Pepecash and FLDC all have been listed on Chainrift. I suggest you scroll up a bit before registering complaints about supposed lack of exchanges. And start actually trading to create some volume on the exchanges that did list counterparty assets to make sure they won't get delisted again in short order. Some of us took some time and effort to make these listings happen and it would be nice if the rest of the community would now also do their part to do whatever they can to contribute to this project other than just making posts to point out supposed flaws.

And of course we can always trade on our own DEX regardless.

The great thing about CP is were a democracy that elects our board to make changes to the protocol.

Actually, the foundation votes on how to spend funds and marketing/direction.... it does NOT vote on changes to the protocol.... those are made via the Counterparty Improvement Proposal (CIP) and community consensus..... foundation can’t force through contentious code changes

I tried to cover that in one of my Q&A answers but yes, the foundation, as i understand it, is a mechanism (amongst many other things) to fund potential protocol changes. If said funding works and changes are made that doesnt' mean anyone will be forced to use them. That is a decision make by software/hardware consensus which is determined by the community

Yeah in theory. Realistically if the foundation can raise money and fund development, people will be compelled to run that software as few people or groups have the ability to maintain a separate fork over time.

Agreed that "being sanctioned" by the foundation is probably a sure bet to code changes being adopted but it's critical to point out that anything that is not broadly accepted will, in the end of the day not be included, as even if the few groups that run the nodes (i.e. nodes for xchain, counterwallet, xcpdex, ext) choose something, it doesn't negate the history of counterparty, which is stored on the bitcoin blockchain, and given enough people against said change 'old' nodes could be spun up and a network that does not include that change could prevail

I agree, very unlikely that the few who run nodes would choose to ignore the new software and continue to run the old, knowing that at some point they need to find someone to do maintenance. I suppose it does underscore the desirability of keeping in touch with the node operators and see how they feel before deciding to fund controversial changes.

An attorney who knew about 501(c) (3) corporation contacted Reverend Dixon’s
Indianapolis Baptist Temple, in regards to a legal battle with the IRS over a 6 million dollar lien
the IRS filed against them because they refused to be a tax collector. Reverend Dixon said that
they did not need any help from this attorney because they “had faith” (more like presumption),
that they were going to win the battle: pride and arrogance. He went on to tell me that they “had
been a 501(c)(3) corporation”, but they had never changed their paper work and just informed
the IRS that they were not going to function as a 501(c)(3) corporation any more. The IRS filed
the lien after Reverend Dixon kept ignoring IRS’s demands. Dixon said that his lawyers were
handling the case and they were sure they were going to win. Well, they did not. The judge ruled
for the IRS. Later, the IRS confiscated the Church and it is assets. In the September 2001 issue of
Christian Times, it was reported that the judge ordered Reverend Dixon to pay $136,610.04 from
his own assets. Dixon said that he was broke, and that he had now retired and was living in a
mobile home. He needed to properly inform the IRS that the 501(c)(3) corporation had ended.
It should be pointed out that if you do not properly undo a 501(c)(3) corporation that
you may wind up with this type of trouble too. Even if you want to keep the 501(c)(3)
corporation, you must be able to show paper work that proves that you are only using it for
advertising and other related business. ..... Did you read the actual case or just the summary lol
