I don’t really do interviews… maybe in early 2022…. Just too busy currently
-
I’ll come back next year then. Maybe by that time I will have sent you one of my magazines 😊
-
-
threw a boot in too
-
-
Hello everyone
-
I can throw in some xcp I had for that, don't want to risk installing metamask otherwise
-
-
-
-
I got a crazy idea... Is it possible to add some sort of secret information (message) inside an asset, that can only be accessed if you buy it?
-
You mean like unlockable content?
I'd be interested in that too. -
Yes exactly
-
-
Yeah. You paid to little on your transaction fee. Others probably ran the dispenser dry by the time your tx settled.
-
This is the transaction: https://blockstream.info/tx/0c054ba2c0e2be6ede0de856aeaa0e8d29af45cdf30700797681e59b30221f4dBlockstream Block Explorer

Is there an automated way to get an image to show up on xchain asset page?
-
use an imgur/ format link... or point your asset description to a json file with image and image_large name/value pairs in the JSON file
-
all the data stored in counterparty for assets is publicly accessible.... you could do like RPW does and have some content on the website that is only accessible if you hold a card/token (like DJPEPE), but the protocol itself doesn't have a way to hide content which is only accessible to holders of a token, as all token data is publicly available to anyone to view.

👌
-
Someone bought for the XCP Pinata airdrops?
-
what?
-
It's the first time I've heard of it
-
Thanks it’s probably a scam.
-
Yes, not a scam, you can chat with creator in discord channel and others who have received past airdrops 👍🎉
-
-
looks like the source of the PEPECASH and XCP being dispensed is 1MZukTfLH1D8Cw5Tk9ti56qGSS1CM2o6PV which looks like an exchange address.
-
-
-
-
-
I don't think fee plays a part in it. It just needs to be in block.
-
you must have missed my drama yesterday. someone sent a dispenser transaction 7 minutes after me on ultra high fee and stole the card
-
-
Were you in the next block or were you bumped to the next one?
-
card was super cheap and a grail : /
-
was all same block
-
took an hour
-
it was reasonable to overpay, even if u were first
-
-
it doesnt matter how much you overpay, if someone comes after you and over pays more he gets it
-
-
if you pay normal fee the risk is way higher
-
altghough, thats how pow works, not just nfts
-
-
yes
-
thousands of people get frontruned on eth, buying nfts or tokens
-
pow stuff
-
but they dont lose everything
-
the dispensers pays put to the first .. the highest fee transactionx
s are nearer the front of a block -
I see. Stolen is a strong word then. You can argue taking advantage of a misprice is also stealing if we're using these terms.
-
theres a warning not to send funds when a unconfirmed transaction in incoming people just need to refresh the page before sending all would be good but people are not good
-
transactions cost around 100usd, sometimes a lot more
-
I lost some funds in ETH but only when chasing an overhyped mint and that's the game its normal
-
-
no it wasnt
-
as is normal on pepes paying high fees to get what you want
-
-
thats just how pow works
-
💯
-
higher fees, you go first
-
dude I could have paid 100$ and that guy would have ripped it
-
you can pay as much as you like if someone pays more
-
-
tried to contact the seller for reimburse?
-
u are talking about the very mechanics of the assets you are using
-
why I wouldn't?? If a cheap price shows up I buy it and i dont question myself "is this mispriced, if so, should I let it go and someone else take it" ?? Prices are dumping accross the board yesterday someone sold a hairpepe for 0.5 eth he bought for 2.5 what do I know if that guy made the price correct
-
its not XCPs fault or any other entity
-
why the other guy wouldnt do what he did?
-
BECAUSE THERE WAS A WARNIGN FOR 7 MINUTES TO NOT SEND FUNDS FFS I'M OUT
-
thats if u dont wanna LOSE your funds
-
he took the risk, too
-
contact the seller, ask for reimburse? like a lot of people do
-
Marie, you know the system. it sucks. Deal with it. After all you tried to get something quite cheap if I understand correctly. Next time place an order and wait to see if it gets filled if you wanna play it safe This is not monopoly. And btw, even if the community was good till now, I dont think that we are going to pay attention to all the addresses we have in the future. Dispencers are a lottery and not going to get fixed.
-
whats the problem?
-
++
-
-
-
yeah
-
Dispensers work as designed, there is nothing to "fix".... but we will get trusted dispensers in the future so buyers can choose to buy from a dispenser where they have contact info and reputation info for the seller
-
wish i could have stole it
-
yeah me too bro
-
would have paid a higher fee
-
he put 120$ gas
-
there is no gas in BTC
-
fuck you
-
-
its totally normal. you probably don't get that if it can happen on the blockchain then its normal
-
-
-
the banner doesnt specify "This dispenser was emptied, dont send any other payments cause its an honorary contract was signed"
-
it spcifies risk to lose your funds, other guy took the risk, worked with proof of work mechanics, and thats it
-
you need to argue about me about a gas fee or gwei or sat or however this is called when I'm clearly upset you deserved the fuck you
-
calm down lady, this is crypto
-
-
-

I saw the dispenser and the 3 unconfirmed transactions. I checked the fees everyone paid and considered jumping over the top since I'd be taking it from someone else who was doing the same thing. I did a quick search and couldn't confirm the seller, so I wasn't sure if anyone would get a refund. I decided to stay out of it.

Try contacting @HavenX and see if he can contact who he sent that card to. Here's the tx from his wallet to the seller 3 months ago:

If you had to send a message to the owner of an address, what would be the most effective method to ensure the recipient reads the message, or at least is aware of an incoming message? I'm aware of broadcasts and memos but in both cases -please correct me if I'm wrong- the recipient might only find out a message was sent to them days/weeks later, or never. Is there a better way?
-
Using a unique token with a memo seems to be somewhat effective, but it's no guarantee.

That does make me wonder about transaction ordering in blocks for dispenser. Due to transaction malleability, nonce density, and other things, transactions are not always strictly fee ordered in blocks. How does the dispenser scan the block in that case - first ordinal tx or highest fee?
-
Counterparty processes transactions in the order they are put in a block
-
ordinal
-
hello, market question: what pending mean?
-
and BTW gratz for the team
-
and why for some markets bids are higher than askS?
-
I mean DEX
-
guessing your talking about BTC on the dex..... using BTC on the dex requires the person BUYING with BTC to place an order, then to monitor for an order match (pending) and then send a payment of BTC for the order match within 20 blocks... that is what PENDING means, it is waiting for the buyer to send the BTC for the order match
-
the overlapping bids/asks has to do with the fact that some people place orders to buy stuff with BTC, but then dont send the BTC for the order match in time (need to use freewallet.io desktop wallet and auto-BTCpay feature for BTC to work on the DEX)
-
that explains why there is order overlap.... normally the trade would just execute (as it does with every other asset except BTC)... but with BTC, there is an extra step of listening for an order match and paying for it within 20 blocks
-
this is why dispensers were created... to make buying stuff with BTC a simple BTC send to a dispenser address
-
still...
-
and if I want sell for btc?
-
selling for BTC you just place the order and wait for your order to match with someone and HOPE that they are using freewallet.io desktop and send the BTC payment for the order match
-
it is only BUYING with BTC that requires the extra step
-
if you wanna sell for BTC, I would suggest using a dispenser, as it is simpler than the DEX... or use the dex and just wait until a buyer shows up and pays for the order match 🙂
-
what escrow in dispenser mean
-
?
-
that is how much of the token you want to put in the dispenser
-
hover your mouse over the questionmark next to each field and it'll tell you what that field is
-
so I put in 20 , Give 1 per BTC amount
-
yes it tells but it is not clear
-
correct... escrow 20... give amount 1... BTC amount is what you want to charge for 1 card
-
not clear? hrm....
-
couldn't it be more clear?
-
"The amount you would like to escrow in the dispenser"
-
seems pretty clear to me
-
how would you explain it more clearly?
-
I am not native english, yes, but I have never heard "dispenser" word beside XCP
-
everytime 0.02 Bitcoin hits that account 1 will dispense to the incoming address
-
replace "dispenser" with "vending machine"
-
escrow = middle man rather
-
dispensers are just vending machines that sell a token for BTC
-
escrow just means how many tokens to put into the vending machine... ie, how many tokens do you want to sell in total 🙂
-
put $ in get chocolate out
-
escrow 20 chocolate bars.... sell 1 chocolate bar for 0.02 BTC... easy peasy 😛
-
put in 0.01999 you dont get it
-
some on else puts in 0.00111 they do
-
so put in 0.04 you get 2
-
so if someone send 0.019999 and next send 0.00...1 2nd will get a token?
-
yeah
-
No
-
the dispenser only triggers when the entire amount is paid in a single send
-
oh my mistake
-
learn something new
-
the person sending 0.0199999 and the person sending 0.00000001 would not receive anything
-
only get something if you send the entire amount in a single send
-
how to determine cheapest rate? https://xchain.io/asset/XCP (dispenser tab ofc)
-
if not than what? funds lost to buyer ?:>
-
counterparty is mostly quite good - just ask for a refund
-
Yes... you should only send the entire amount requested (or more) to a dispenser
-
usually the dispenser owner is about
-
is there a way to check rate/unit?
-
er use google "bitcoin to usd"
-
I just noticed that there’s a disabled “sell” button in Freeport. Does anyone know if there’s a plan to develop the wallet further to enable it?

-
Hola
-
-
-
😨
-
have to use new adress for dispenser?
-
You can use any address as long as you don’t use an address that u regularly use as it may result in unexpected dispenses
-
I cannot
-
it says it cannot create dispenser on adress with history
-
yes you can.... you can create a dispenser on any address
-
if you use a new/empty/unused address, you can setup a dispenser from a different address
-
if the address has already been used before, you need to transfer some BTC and the tokens to the address, then switch to the address, THEN setup the dispenser (source and dispenser address must be the same)
-
I set a dispenser on adress different than source
-
yes, you can only do that if the address your setting the dispenser up on is brand new/unused
-
if the address has already been used, you can not do that, and you have to do as I said before, send BTC and tokens to the address, then switch to the address, THEN setup the dispenser
-
or use another adress?
-
yes, if you want to use a new/unused address, you can do so
-
is there a limit of adresses in freewallet? it could be a little messy to set another adress for every dispenser but sending and waiting isn't convenient, too
-
nope, no limit on the number of addresses you can add to freewallet
-
will add option in the future to add a number of addresses at the same time... versus adding one by one like you have to do now
-
That would be cool!
-
your not the only one with that thought 🙂 https://github.com/jdogresorg/freewallet-desktop/issues/65add multiple new addresses at once · Issue #65 · jdogresorg/freewallet-desktop

Would be good if adress book function in dispenser work ;)
-
I think people assume xchain and counterparty are the same thing. xchain can put up a warning not to send, but that's not the protocol. In fact, while its probably unlikely, it is possible that the other buyer isn't even using xchain. They're just interacting with the protocol directly or, theoretically, some other Counterparty marketplace. But realistically, everyone probably is on xchain.
-
could be your BTC is in a bunch of utxos .... try sending more BTc to your address, or try gathering up all your utxos into a single utxo (import private key into electrum and send all BTC from yourself back to yourself)
-
Thanks, my experience about electrum is not good but I will send more btc
-
you should also be able to send all your BTC to yourself via freewallet.io .... just send max BTC amount, then subtract BTC miners fee from BTC amount being sent
-
So this way the utxos issue will be resolved?
-
yes, it should work for ya
-
that sends all BTC in your address back to your address in a single utxo
-
I had sent some 0.021 BTC from Coinbase to this address but I didn’t receive it yet, transaction shows completed but balance hasn’t arrived yet, can you please check this hash:
https://www.blockchain.com/btc/tx/7dca7ef7266b374532934d1223b8eddae66f136e62e9b2434d0900dfa61454f1Blockchain.com Explorer | BTC | ETH | BCHThe easiest and most trusted transaction search engine and block explorer.

Blockchain.com Explorer | BTC | ETH | BCH
The easiest and most trusted transaction search engine and block explorer.
-
look at your address directly... you can see you doing sends out of the address.... so you prolly already spent your deposit on other transactions
-
also... blockchain.com is horrible block explorer.. use blockchair or blockstream.info
-
Blockstream Block Explorer
Blockstream Explorer is an open source block explorer providing detailed blockchain data across Bitcoin, Testnet, and Liquid. Supports Tor and tracking-free.
-
yep... like I thought... a bunch of utxos... 15 to be exact
-
But in my calculations, I have spent that amount yet, I had sent from other wallets and spent that amount only, this amount was still pending
-
the blockchain history reveals all your transactions... you can go through your history and see exactly what your BTC was spent on
-
don't have time to dig through all your history and explain it all... but every transaction is logged, so you can track it yourself 🙂
-
with BTC fees being higher the past few days, prolly spent through a bunch of BTC without even realizing it
-
either way... you have $54 spread out over 15 utxos, which is making your transactions larger than they should be, which is resulting in requiring more BTC..... best to send more BTC, or gather your utxos
-
thank you, only way to gather utxos is sending out whole BTC from this address to another address, right?
-
you can send all BTC from your address back to the exact same address
-
you don't have to send to anotehr address... you can gather all your utxos up into a single transaction which sends the BTC back to your same address, except it does so in a single utxo instead of 15
-
15 inputs into the transaction == one output in the transaction 🙂
-
-
It still shows this error:
-
but it is very good practice to use new adress for every tx
-
Are you sending max amount minus the btc miners fee?
-
Should work…. Worst case just send some more btc to ur address for now
-
Yes exactly
-
Strange… will try to manually generate tx via api later
-
Ok, please also check for closing “OK” button on clicking, it’s not working
-
Yes I remember… working on fixing issues in CP, we’ll get to your issue which effects like 4-5 dispensers total after we finish with fixes that effect everyone (mpma send issues, etc). We won’t do any new dev till backlog of issues is fixed (including yours)

Anyone have any help for me?
-
The error message says to deposit more btc…. If you do that, you’ll be able to do transactions
-
The account does have more than it says it needs in it
-
You probably have a bunch of tiny utxos which are making your transaction larger, requiring more btc…..

If you want to gift someone an NFT, pretty much the only wallet option that will display the art is Freeport, right?
-
Freewallet
-
Does freewallet display the art? Maybe I just have an older version of the desktop. All I can see is thumbnails

Issues with multisends right now? None of mine seem to go through and the fee seems to be very high, even if the multisend has an “error while trying to generate second transaction”

Ah, I was counting thumbnails.

Working on a fix for this which should be integrated in the next week or two….. should be able to send up to 1000 sends in a single mpma send at that time

If you they just want to "display" their NFT rather than interact with it, there are some cool web options like rare.estate

Freewallet just displays icons… but u can click the “more info” button to go to xchain and view the larger artwork

I believe the plan is to improve the webwallet for this purpose. You should be able to log into counterwallet from your phone’s browser for basic DEx needs.

Thanks, that’s actually what I’m doing now, but I can’t seem to figure out how to use the DEX on CounterWallet. I thought maybe the FreeWallet interface would be more intuitive once developed. Is there any good tutorials available? I did a Google search and nothing really came up.

Hmm, I hadn’t ever really tried it until just now, and I can’t find a way to use it either. Rarepepewallet works on phone for buying Pepes at least.

hey guys. Alot of interest in counterparty even though im a value investor with little capital to invest so I went balls deep on the XDP reboot. For times sake, and because im battling COVID right now, is there a good place for the current state and future dev plans for Counterparty Project (XCP on BTC chain that is, the original) where I can get up to date news? I came over from Devcoin Project our co-founder approached y'all on Bitcointalk about possibly doing Counterparty txn on Devcoin (since its SHA256 merge mined with Bitcoin and runs on its old codebase - only uses P2PK 1-legacy prefix addresses too so there wouldnt be much change and you can use your XCP or BTC addresses on DVC as well btw). His post was in May 2021 but it didnt go anywhere. Still intrigued because theres also a branch the current Syscoin Lead Developer made when he was working on DVC in 2014 to keep OP_RETURN bytes at 80 bytes and not the 0.9.x Bitcoin Core slashed limit to 40 bytes. Specifically if we wanted to add Counterparty to Devcoin Blockchain so I think theres some value there for us all to maybe get more users into your XCP markets but in a cheaper txn model by using Devcoin and thru merge mining, according to our founder "markm" on your thread on bitcointalk "occassionally writing the counterparty on Devcoin txns to the Bitcoin blockchain (kinda like a rollup on EVM L2) to keep up to date"

Hey guys,
seems like I can't paste URL to explain my issue but I have an issue connecting to the Counterparty API in PHP, is anyone has a basic working example?
Thanks so much! -
Do you get any error messages?
-
Perhaps you can post some code so we can try to help?
-
Thanks, I am definitely learning here and I just can't connect, I don't know which URL and Password I need to enter in the PHP setting for the connection:
In the example, it is written localhost
Looking into the documentation, do I need to setup something on my server? I feel I am probably missing a step? thanks again 🙂 -
Just to clarify, are you running a counterparty node?
-
No, do I need to? sorry again if it is silly to ask...
Basically, I would like to create a front end site to display some assets with their information, a search tool..a bit like pepe dot wtf site.
I have been playing with the xChain API which I managed to connect and start using quicly but someone mentionned to me the Counterparty api was a lot faster etc. -
For a public-facing website I'm not sure TBH. Hopefully Jdog will advise :)

Thanks! Appreciate your help 🙂

Anyone else facing the issue of no server availability for counterwallet?
-
Use freewallet.io
-
-
-
Which country are you shipping from?
-
Romania (Eastern Europe, EU)
-
Cool!
-
Anyone running freewallet on Ubuntu here ?
-
I have a friend who tried, but he had problems running it on Ubuntu
-
Me too getting error , looking for someone who might help
-
If counterparty was ported over to LTC could it be compatible with the mimblewimble extension blocks that they're about to enable? A more private xcp would be cool
-
Not sure if any of this would work with scriptless scripts or if the necessary data could be fit into available bytes (or really much of any of it, the question is out my ass)
-
XCP can be private as well as Litecoin in Emblems Private vaults, plus since Emblem is coming back to Counterparty, Litecoin cant be more improved on XCP as well
-
The privacy vaults enhancing MW's capabilities
-
Not Ubuntu but Mint 20.1. Freewallet works perfectly. Not much help I know but it should work on all Deb based systems. Maybe there was another error message at installation time?
-
Installation went without any error , tnx I guess I will consider switching to mint 20.1if problem not resolved
-
Highly recommended. No issues at all with Freewallet .Good luck.
-
strange... should work... i'll test it when I put out the next release of freewallet (early 2022)

Do I need FULLACCESS in FreeWallet for the Exchange to work correctly? Will it work for all my addresses once unlocked?
-
you dont need FULLACCESS anymore... just use freewallet.io desktop wallet... the DEX is fully accessible to all now
-
Thanks
-
There seem to be be open orders for PRINCESSSPR in xchain but that token doesn’t show up when I search in FreeWallet
-
you can navigate directly to the market
-
-
markets dont show up in the exchanges tab/list until after an actual trade has taken place... no trades have taken place on this market, hence why it is not displayed
-
can enter any market and navigate directly to it via ASSET1/ASSET2 in search box and click green search icon... will take you direct to market
-
Thanks

I'll look up emblem
-
emblem on counterparty?
-
I'm retarded, ignore me. Emblem seems alright but don't really like the idea of claiming contents on a website
-
Hi..i sent xcp from freewallet to dextrade. How long will it takes to show in dex wallet?
-
About one hour most of the time
-
Thx

If some of you guys want a super rare, 6-year-old asset on the cheap, this dispenser has BEERS at huge 45% discount (vs the current floor price), today only! https://xchain.io/tx/1fd1e69d8b9b6c3b778b162ed1581abb3ceae8afba26d187e734d10a03242cba

Hey folks, is there any way to tell when an image asset was added to a counterparty token? Or is there no history/log for that kind of metadata change?
-
audit is on at the moment with certik - including a parachute option if for any reason the application/website didnt exist
-
Check issuance tab. There you see all changes to description (where the metadata is stored).
-
-
click view to see the additions - like the adding of a new image on an old asset
-
Thank you! So in that example, when viewing issuance number 1, the asset shows as having the counterparty logo, but then in issuance number two it shows the BEERS image in comic sans, and that difference is how I know that the image was added as part of issuance 2?
-
Ah that's not it. The BEER image is now showing on the page for issuance 1 when I refreshed. It must be when the Description changes in issuance 3.
-
No, actually the image was added in issuance 2 (block 709,001)
-
Sorry yes, typo, meant to say 2
-
👍
-
What about for tokens where there isn't an explicit addition of an image like that? For example in PEPELIBRARY, I trust that the image is from 2016 as it's an official RP (and all the issuances are from 2016), but is there a way of seeing which of the three issuances contained the image?
-
I'm asking as I'm trying to learn better how Counterparty works. Have been really enjoying getting into this community. Thank you for taking the time!
-
I just cross-checked (using the direct CPAPI) and I have found no on-chain reference to an image.
-
No more BEERS, but here's another chance: if some of you guys want to add a super rare, 4-year-old asset on the cheap, this dispenser has KANDINSKY at huge 40% discount (vs the current floor price), today only! 🎄🎄🎄https://xchain.io/tx/41d909919ad6dba263b2d184066579275cf0c0a041d5d83205efd52424df8776

Got it. I've seen Discussions used with success for this type of stuff. Just in case you wanted to keep it in one repo
-
you can set lower if you go to the preferences screen in freewallet desktop... 1000 sats is the default
-
-
all CIPs are kept in one repo... and there is a process for creating CIPs which includes discussion on the forums before creating a CIP 🙂 https://github.com/CounterpartyXCP/cips/GitHub - CounterpartyXCP/cips: Counterparty Improvement Proposals

Cool cool.
-
Hey, is it normal that a trade is pending for 3 hours+? How many confirmation does it require?
-
1
-
mine has 21, why is it pending, any idea?
-
Did it actually “match”?
-
A question about this address: 16gXh4NRxUc3Po1DupeZtfZ7uHzefYizPz - It has lots of PEPEs but no Sends or Orders. So how did it get the PEPEs ?
-
It doesn't need to send or use orders to receive Pepes.
-
Ah then it must be through dispenses probably
-
I want to creat a token… What sets the small icon that appears in wallets and xchain instead of the default XCP logo?
-
use coindaddy.io to set the icon for free.... or point your asset description at a .JSON file which has "image" name/value pair where the image is the URL to the 48x48 icon you want to use.
-
look at the credits tab for the address. The sweep function was used, so likely someone moved assets from one address to another
-
check the "Credits" tab.... will tell you how all the pepes were credited... in this case, looks like most were added to this address via a sweep
-
@j-dog Curious, what is the cost of the volume bot service used on dex-trade and who is the service provider? I'm wondering if something similar could be used on p2pb2b to get some activity going (and help get listed on coinmarketcap)
-
dex-trade offers a straight daily volume bot service and it is run by the exchange..... p2pb2b.io offers 2 fee-free trading accounts and expects you to run your own bot services... AFAIK they don't offer any straight daily volume bot service like dex-trade.com
-
I'll reach out to p2pb2b.io again to clarify exactly what services they offer
-
great 👍

Was there ever EVM compatibility on Counterparty I remember 11/2014 there was an announcement of EVM compatibility. How does the XCP COVAL relate to ERC-20 COVAL? Any bridge... oracle? To keep the asset consistent with the ERc-20 token?
-
I will used this internet archived ANN from bitcointalk to research coval history on counterparty sorry for asking so much: https://web.archive.org/web/20171011140544/https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1652345.0
