"burning" is a specific thing that was done with XCP where you could burn/destroy BTC and get XCP back -
you can send funds to a "burn" address.. but it just locks funds up in an unusable address, and does not remove the amount from the supply

you can "destroy" funds to actually remove the funds from the supply and have the suppy amount displayed on xchain lowered

hey im trying to use the enhanced asset option on coindaddy but everytime i change the asset description in freewallet to the .json path it adds an asterisk and it doesnt work -
under my assets the enhanced section has said pending for hours now. does anyone have any suggestions?

Try putting the https:// in front of xcp.coindaddy.io

ok ill give that a try. one thing im waiting on the mempool for is changing the asset name in the json path from the string of numbers to it's actual name since it's a subasset

Why do the counts on the holder tab not add up to the issuance for an asset? -
Funds escrowed in dex orders and dispensers doesn’t show in holders list

You can see if an image was added at a later date looking at any description changes on the issuance tab.
As far as a json file changing the image that has already been posted in the description, not sure about that. -
If image is stored in the description (like the imgurl shortcuts) then you will see the change in “issuance” -
If the image is linked with a json in the description, then nothing prevents anybody to change url link in the json - and you will not know

Could include a hash of the image in description as an issuance so even if the Json changes then the hash wouldn’t match the image linked in the Json -
So there would be evidence of the change

it is destroyed/removed from the supply.... XCP is a deflationary token, the available supply goes down over time as supply is destroyed using certain features (assets, subassets, dividends, sweeps, etc)

Hi jdog welcome back, hope Vegas was 🎉. I have an issue occuring - every now and then the 48x48 icon disappears on xchain main pages not asset page. Is there a conflict if I have an icon uploaded to coindaddy and an icon from .Json file? Which takes precedence over the other? -
if you use a .json file that one should show... if not, then we try to snag the icon you have uploaded to coindaddy... I believe the script for icons runs once every 24 hours.

using XCP on the DEX is easy... just a fire and forget it style order... place your order, check back later, what you were trying to buy will most likely be in your wallet

only using BTC on the DEX is a bit more complex... all other assets, including XCP are much simpler... just place the order and ur done 🙂

Prolly better off using a dispenser to sell your XCP for BTC, then just take that BTC to any exchange and swap for ETH if that is your plan

depends on the fee of the bitcoin transaction
