No one else was mining yet. Theories are that Satoshi may have rushed the release to imbed the headline from The Times about a bank bailout. They may have had several chains to test different things out, then started mining off of the Genesis block again to clean the slate.

What's *blue? In order to convert an asset into xcp or btc, you need to create a sell order on the DEx for XCP or with a dispenser for BTC. Naturally, you'll also need an interested party to buy it.

XCP is burnt to create named assets. It's an antispam mechanism, and you cannot recover it.

There are options, but you have to market it yourself. There is no guarantee you can sell anything on those other platforms, but there is more liquidity right now.

I’m not sure, but they might have their own format since they have Ethereum integrated too. You might have to do a couple of extra sends. First send your XCP to your freewallet address, followed by some BTC to transact with. Then you can send off the XCP with a memo.

"restart"... no, the old codebase is dead/unmaintained.... but, could tweak existing cp codebase to run on dogecoin, and YES... 100% would be respecting the old ledger and burns (all assets registered in 2014 would still be there and owned by same ppl... same with all the XDP that people burned dogecoin for).... only difference would be we would probably want to do another burn.... and instead of a "burn" have the funds go into a dev fund

The real goal of a reboot of dogeparty (for me at least) would be to introduce people to the counterparty platform... and get more devs/eyes/funds trickling back to Counterparty..... I only discovered Counterparty (big brother on bitcoin) because I was excited about dogeparty in 2014..... if we could capture some of that excitement and redirect it back to Counterparty, would be ideal..... we've already seen other forks help contribute to Counterparty (monaparty is a counterparty fork on monacoin, and has made code improvements that made their way up to the CP repo, and Monaparty has also funded some CIPs over the last couple years)

John had everything worked out for how CP would work with the VM... how XCP holders could effectively become "master nodes" which could earn GAS for staking/locking up XCP for a set time..... X amount of gas distributed each month.... chopped up amongst those who were staking... and that GAS is what would pay for execution of the smart contracts on the platform.... yes... so many ideas, so little time

staking would be done with XCP... if you hold XCP, you would just lock it up for a set period of time (so you can't spend it).... at the end of the month you would get a % of the total GAS distributed based on what % of the total staked XCP you had staked

No... Counterparty wallets are only aware of Counterparty tokens... just like most ETH wallets are not aware of anything other than ETH. YOu can not use a Counterparty address to recieve an ETH token, or vice versa... separate ecosystems and wallets.

Transaction pending for 11 hours can you help with this issue -
The lesson to be learned here is that if you want a transaction processed quickly, you should pay a high fee at the time of creating the transaction, otherwise, you run the risk of having to wait for your transaction to get processed... which could take hours, days, or weeks depending on how busy the mempool is (# of pending transactions) and the fees being paid

you can try to accelerate your transaction through btcnitro.com using the transaction hash... but, most likely your going to just have to wait until the transaction confirms... you can use an explorer like blockchair.com and plug in your transaction hash to see what # you are in the queue/mempool

ah... yeah, once your past this screen in counterwallet, the passphrase is never shown again... freewallet.io lets you dump the passphrase... but counterwallet only lets you dump the private keys
