Ah, dispensers are just basically another name for placing an order in counterwallet?
-
Their token vending machines that accept Bitcoin.
-
I see it now in counterwallet. Will be playing around, making a SODAPEPENSKI dispenser (the rare pepe I created 4 years ago) to test it out. Very much needed addition to XCP. Always thought it was crazy there wasn't built in BTC <> XCP exchange. Really happy the community built something to help there.
-
I'd pay $1500 right now for that RAREPEPE (Nakamoto card) XCP asset.
-
Is there an easy way with xchain to see how many current bids or asks there are for any pair containing PEPECASH? Or you just have to choose an actual pair like PEPECASH / RAREPEPE in the counterwallet exchange area?
-
I’d use freewallet.io and go to the dex and sort the ask price from high to low. The liquidity is very low, not much for sale of anything tbh.
-
Part of my graffiti project is to develop a new CP wallet with full features, and support for cross chain functionality.
-
With some good ui with dispensers, I think it could blow up. Good luck, hope to see it. Was just exploring raizer.cc a little bit. They have a nice skin.
-
can you see *all* asset pairs for PEPECASH / *
-
-
Why do dispensers come and go? why isn't someone offering XCP liquidity all the time?
(I'd ape in and put $2k on each side with a not-so-rapey spread) -
so you just keep looking at xchain -> dispensers and hope someone throws up the asset you want? I see the dex doesn't have much action, one sold in September 2020
-
(I threw up a 250 XCP offer for one in the dex just so they know a buyer is looking for it)
-
Yes. People put them up and take them down. Not many sellers of XCP. I have XCP but I don’t want to sell. A lot of people feel that way in this room.
-
It's understandable. Looks like it's about to come back in a big way, potentially.
-
-
-
I'm also looking to buy 10k xcp via broadcast. How does one do that?
-
Dispensers are vending machines to sell tokens directly for BTC in one payment.... completely separate from the DEX.... tho, the features was created because using BTC on the DEX for tokens is too cumbersome (need to take extra step of sending BTC payment within 20 blocks of order match or match expires).... dispensers allow for sending of BTC and vending of token back to use in same transaction :)
-
-
In freewallet.io desktop wallet... menu->Broadcast Message... enter message into "Message" box and click "Broadcast Message" button 🙂
-
dunno if anyone has any success with getting XCP that way tho... best way right now is to buy off dispensers or DEX
-
Exchange listings should be coming in the next week 🙂
-
What dex?
-
Counterparty DEX of course
-
There is a btc/xcp pair?
-
Yes
-
(sorry im coming back after 4 years)
-
Not visible from counter wallet?
-
[apes into freewallet]
-
the CP DEX supports all pairs... any asset paired to any other assets... RAREPEPE/PEPECASH.... XCP/BTC.... PEPECASH/BTC... PEPECASH/XCP, etc
-
-
-
am I correct that there was no BTC/XCP pair 4 years ago? I remember battling the counterwallet dex to better see the various pepe liquidity
-
Well paint me green and call me Gumby. It's beautiful. I see liquidity is still an issue, but a functional btc/xcp dex is beautiful, man. Thanks for sticking with this project fam.
-
BTC pairing functionality has always existed on Counterparty.... but since BTC can't be escrowed, using BTC requires a wallet staying open to monitor for order matches and sending a BTC payment within 20 blocks.... which is NOT good for a web wallet in a browser where anyone can walk up and have full access to the wallet... so... counterwallet removed the BTCpay functionality a while ago
-
[finds out 4 years later he was getting cucked the whole time]
-
Counterwallet always had that strange legal language at the top that always made me uncomfortable
-
Why can't BTC be escrowed?
-
There was no BTC activity on the DEX the past few years... primarily because it is tricky to use and no good interfaces existed..... Counterwallet UI sucked.. so I wrote freewallet with a better DEX interface (my opinion)... and also added Auto-BTCpay functioanlity... so when you place your "Buy with BTC" order, you can just fire it and forget it... the wallet will automatically watch for matches and pay them for you.... You need to keep freewallet open to monitor for matches... BUT, you can keep the wallet locked, so no one has access to send funds from your wallet... and the auto-btcpay stuff will work while the wallet is locked (you enter password when wallet first boots up to enable auto-btcpay stuff)
-
I am escrowing BTC right now on a website
-
Works just fine
-
Can't be escrowed in a trustless setup.... would require trusting a 3rd party to hold the BTC and release at correct time.
-
You can use time locks
-
Not within the context of Counterparty.
-
It's possible on BCH now ...
-
they made some changes
-
So technically should be possible on BTC as well
-
the escrow I use the custodial can only decide when there are disputes
-
Brilliant sir. Simply brilliant. Thank you again. I have tons of computers and I'll leave the gaming machine open for a few days and provide some liquidity on your platform. If I can acquire enough XCP I'll start to make a more liquid market for the community.
-
not completely trustless you need to figure out if custodial is playing game with the counterparty
-
then a timelock makes the BTC flow back automatically
-
or forward
-
Not trustless then.... involves a 3rd party holding the funds
-
omg imagine counterparty on BCH as a cheap sidechain
-
Not holding the funds
-
and not custodial
-
They still give you a big OP_RETURN over there?
-
cause he can't take the funds
-
Great.
-
like 200 bytes or so
-
The question was about the Counterparty DEX on Bitcoin right now... not about what you can do on BCH.
-
Is BTC still 40?
-
op_return is 80
-
Yeah well who is going to work on building a DEX on BTC when fees are so unknown in the future
-
80 is just to small
-
for programmers
-
200 is a better balance
-
real talk why not just move XCP to BCH, then it will work again
-
Working on it
-
eta is 11 months
-
If you want money and developers to do that I can make that happen
-
But hey when BTC fees go down
-
everything will work again
-
so I mean, I have always liked counterparty
-
just want a solution
-
cause I can't trade anymore
-
I am not rich enough
-
I got funded yeah
-
I have 20 000 USD for it right now
-
but it's hard to find programmers that don't rip you off
-
I think I will build a lot of it hybrix
-
they came up with a simplified programming language
-
pretty awesome
-
But there are not to many devs around well versed in counterparty
-
This is a channel for talk about Counterparty, not about your planned fork to BCH. Please keep the conversation on topic or you will be removed.
-
fair enough
-
Oh I'm sorry about bringing this up if it is a hot topic / never understood all the fighting / but understand there are strong feelings
-
I am blockchain agnostic
-
I do a lot on Etheruem now and clones of Ethereum
-
BCH sucks for smart contracts
-
Fees on ETH are even worse on BTC
-
and LN works better then ETH l2
-
at least there is more liquidity most of the time
-
-
XCP works perfectly fine on Bitcoin. Your missing the value proposition of Counterparty.... it is having your assets on the strongest chain Bitcoin (BTC). There are solutions that have been implemented to reduce fees (MPMA, segwit, etc)... and there are additional solutions that are being worked on that will further help (hazama.io sidechains, etc).... Moving chains to chase cheaper fees is a losing game.... ETH had cheaper fees, should we have moved to them? Now TRON has cheaper fees, should we jump to them now? chain-hopping is just kicking the scaling can down the road.... the better solution is to spend the time on solutions that work now.
-
Moving Counterparty to any blockchain other than Bitcoin (BTC) will never happen. Not as long as I am involved with the project in any way.
-
I would be supportive of forks of Counterparty to other chains with faster/cheaper fees such as Litecoin, or Dogecoin (Dogeparty already existed in the past funny enough).
-
But, they would need to be launched with a clean ledger (no assets). IMO any attempt to fork the existing Counterparty ledger to another blockchain should be seen as an attack on Counterparty.
-
Also, if Counterparty ledger is ever forked to another blockchain, I would probably wind up destroying my 40K+ registered asset names on that forked version 🙂
-
</end fork textwall> 🙂
-
40k, beast mode, that’s insane.
-
-
Needs laser eyes IMO
-
So I can reissue BACKPAGEPEPE with 69 issuance instead of 169?
-
Thanks! If you wish to support it, check out www.PRECOLUMBIANtoken.com
Portions of the proceeds from the token sale will go towards funding the wallet and various cips -
It looks like you hold 100% of the supply.. so yep.... you could also do something funky like switch it to a 1 of 1... make it way more valuable... first rare pepe card to go from many to a single card... tho not sure how the scientists would feel about that 😛
-
-
-
I pray for this
-
-
Wow, J-Dog you went all in registering 40K+ asset names!
I’m still holding on for when it makes sense to develop projects for the 100+ assets I secured 6 years ago. -
Been quite lately. Wondering where you been brother.
-
🙋♂️I own 5,000+. Own the entire S&P500 and then subassets were added so my asset plan may not work out so well.
-
-
1000% agree with this wall
-
Just remembering y'all that cip24 is up for funding and there's a rare token being dispensed for donations of 0.0125 each, only 20 of those needed dispensed to get the cip24 rolling and wreck the stablecoin game for tokenized stuff
-
-
also, some stretch goals for cip24 can be covered using XCP, can check them out at the last part of the cip in https://github.com/CounterpartyXCP/cips/blob/cip24/cip-0024.mdcips/cip-0024.md at cip24 · CounterpartyXCP/cips

Ahhh. Wreck the stablecoin game for tokenized stuff. Nice, didn’t cross my mind, very cool.

On freewallet can you create a dispenser that doesn't use BTC as a pair?
I see PEPECASH delimited dispensers but couldn't see how I could create one. -
Dispeners only work with BTC as a payment method
-
We might add support for payment in other assets in the future... but would be a bit more complex... and something to think about around the time we are implementing CIP24 (oracled dispensers)
-
Ah sorry, I see the Pepecash dispensers are all for btc / I get it now.
-
The thing that will allow AMM Uniswap-like dex. Will be super sexy.
-
Do fractional trades happen on the dex? Or the order must be filled completely?
-
partial matches
-
Cool. Even for the btc pairs?
-
yup
-
You have been hard at work since I left. Thanks again for all your efforts.
-
DEX hasn't change since you left... only difference is some UI tweaks 🙂

Do they deal in Counterparty (CIP) Tokens?
-
1 dispense incoming!

Wow, it actually looks like me and someone else did the same a couple minutes apart

I just fired lol

Does the freewallet.io area Exchange -> BTC/XCP pair show accurate data? Looks like there are some orders there that can't possibly be right...
-
Should be. If you find anything off/broken... DM me with deets
-
Are these libraries maintained? Or is there a dev chat more appropriate for question?
-
AFAIK No, libraries are not maintained.... freeport.io was written by @hodlencoinfield so maybe ask him directly 🙂
-
@hodlencoinfield I run this website - http://muskegon.properties/ to hash and verify documents for real property transactions. Works well and I publish the resulting hash on the BitShares blockchain in an HTLC. There is a token there called RAREPEPE issued by an account with the same name as you what a world of coincidence and synchronicity.
-
Would be nice to know if you have further plans for those libs. Like I said bare functioning works fine AFAIK.
-
@hodlencoinfield is not in this channel.... please send him a DM

hahaha thats my asset, i issued it when i was testing out tokens on other chains
-
Can anyone tell me why my order didn't match? Was trying to buy up the orderbook on PEPECASH. Pretty sure I entered the order as 0.0042 instead of the 0.00419999
Either way, why didn't it match the 0.00419999? -
Screenshots are not as good as links to actual orders on the blockchain... can't say why it didn't match without digging into it more... I will say some other users in the past have had similar issues and their suggestion was to pay 1 satoshi over on the price instead of exact match... Try paying one satoshi over and it should match fine.... also, if you continue to have this issue, please create a github issue at https://github.com/counterpartyxcp/counterparty-lib/issues and enter full details including links to actual excuted orders on xchain.io.... If there is an issue, we will track it down and get it fixed 🙂Issues · CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-lib

I'll admit to being that volume recently.

Glad to have you on board for the ride.
-
Glad to be her sir. Forgot how much fun it was to burn up fees hunting pepes lol
-
You’re buying just for Pepe?
-
How good is that freewallet fee calculation? $13 but doesn't show me sats/byte!
-
-
going to sock away some XCP & buy some PEPECASH and some PEPEs, real talk I don't know what I'm doing with my life lololol just sort of act on instinct at this point.
-
how big?
-
I did a 0.0001 fee to send XCP a few hours ago and it hasn’t confirmed yet.
-
see you in a few days
-
I did a send of a couple assets last week with 1000 sat fee. Still waiting for confirm. Haha
-
Those will probably get marked

Confirmed an hour ago

my counterparty-server goes down . Error is " ParseTransactionError for tx 41140e0ccfe6aef2d3caefb8d5c1b5b510f1fbc06d03375f4dcb6e405a455195 " why this error occuerd ? this tx is not my node broadcast . please tell me why .
-
yeah they just show it sold for 205 eth, then everyone just assumes it's on eth just like everything else
-
-
Strange
-
oh right i can't post links

small improvements afaik

there are still a bunch of collectors talking about us now, we might just get somewhere by asking them to make it clear what they're collecting

Once BoL is functioning again, I will get something out. In the meantime, I will try to get something in Bitcoin Mag. No guarantees on that one though.

I'm going to make some calls on this.

Rarest Pepe — ‘most important NFT in art history’ — sells for 205 ETH
More than $300M has been spent on the top 3 NFT platforms so far this year, with the Rarest Pepe of them all changing hands for $320,000
-
-
-
Joe always does a good job of this.... He is always very good about defending counterparty and saying that NFTs on the platform are the most secure and best... What would be good is if the community had a community manager to handle this stuff.... it takes active management to stay in front of people and get news articles to attribute things the way we would like.... $9000/year and we could have a commuity manager again who could handle this type of thing.
-
Counterparty Community Outreach Manager
Counterparty Community Outreach Manager. GitHub Gist: instantly share code, notes, and snippets.
-
Once exchange listings are live, i'll create another BLACKBOX project to fund the community manager.
-
-
-
I am not concerned with how Joe spends his escrow fee, if he even got any..... Joe has already offered up an item in this upcoming auction and proceeds are going to go to Counterparty.... so yep, hes already on it
-
Joe isn't here, but Joe is a Counterparty warrior who helps CP in every way he can 🙂
-
great!
-
When you go to a car dealership and buy a lambo, you dont talk about how awesome the dealership was or how easy the process was.... you talk about what matters, the lambo.... IMO, same thing here... it would be awesome if buyers and sellers were trying to educate people about our platform, but IMO our marketing/outreach falls squarely on community shoulders..... IF the last couple years have taught me anything, it is that you have to "be the change" you want to see.... Sounds cliche, but its true.... Nothing happens by sitting around and waiting for things to materialize.... progress is made through hard work only 🙂
-
I think once we have a community manager and some exchange listings, Counterparty will become a much more recognized project.... This is an awesome project that has survived the lowest of the lows.... now time to fly 🙂
-
💯
-
I stand corrected... @hodlencoinfield snuck back in here at some point 🙂
-
-
Time for a new election or an unofficial cp foundation. Our elected leaders by the community have failed us. They have literally ghosted this chat. I certainly don’t appreciate it.
-
For the record , I ran and received 1 vote. I casted my 5,000 votes for another member. I personally have no ill will towards the foundation members and wouldn’t be mad if they showed up again and started taking their responsibility more serious.
In all honesty, I would be happy if they returned and I think the majority of the community would feel the same way. -
-
why are the counterparty go to nft
-
-
What do you mean?
-
Xcp shouldn't have a foundation anyway. It's more problems than solutions.
-
I want to buy xcp
-
Maybe. But I always enjoyed the foundation updates.
-
-
Let's have community updates
-
I find the message that counterparty want to make NFT
-
-
-
Why go NFT
-
I know the XCP are Btc dex
-
-
Use a dispenser to buy XCP, just send Bitcoin and receive XCP in return.
-
Counterparty is a decentralized protocol on Bitcoin to create and exchanges tokens&nfts (with dex)
-
is the team are working
-
i am not sure
-
Scroll up. Read history. Yes.
-
2014 to today .i am not sure the team are exist
-
-
what the core team today want to get
-
Which ones?
-
are the btc chain NFT
-
Who will do the work for free? You volunteering?
-
maybe the team is not exsit
-
CP has two world class members currently developing on the protocol, @jdogresorg and @chiguireitor . We have other members who work on their own projects who are great also. What are you looking for?
-
Community manager that the community will fund
-
-
-
-
Perhaps
-
I am want to buy XCP .because if the the Countparty centralized to NFT project
-
can to give me confifence
-
Counterparty is not an NFT project, nor have we pivoted.... The rest of the ecosystem just caught up to what we were doing in 2016... NFts... now it is all the rage
-
This project has been listed on one exchange in japan for the last year, has no community funds, and yet still has managed to not only survive, but thrive, make improvements, and now CP is finally starting to get noticed again.
-
You should be confident 🙂

Just a friendly reminder that CIP24 (Oracled Dispensers) is up for funding and there is a rare token being dispensed for donations of 0.0125 each, only 20 of those needed dispensed to get the cip24 rolling and wreck the stablecoin game for tokenized stuff. Donations of any size are accepted, but only donations of 0.0125 BTC or more will receive the rare token from the dispenser.

Also, CIP24 includes some stretch goals which will greatly help improve Counterparty such as getting a proper test suite working again, adding support for regtest, and creating and maintaining a standardized javascript library (xcpjsv2) for generating and signing Counterparty transactions. -

@jdogresorg I'm having trouble broadcasting transactions through free wallet even with recommended high fee - could my DNS sinkhole be the issue?
-
do you get any error thrown?
-
No i have the same problems for multiple days now, it sometimes works but most of the time it doesnt
-
It is just stuck on Generating Counterparty transaction
-
No it just hangs on "generating transaction"
-
can you try sending through an alernate counterwallet like healthcoin.counterwallet.io or eds.counterwallet.io
-
probably an issue wiht the coindaddy counterparty API being overworked.... its the downside of running the only public CP node.
-
i'll restart the stack and see if that helps...
-
I can sponsor a server If you want
-
What we really need is some load balancing between multiple CP servers.... we have 3 counterwallet servers, but counterwallet sucks... eveyone uses freewallet. which uses public.coindaddy.io
-
in freewallet settings... you can change your counterparty API server
-
-
try healthcoin.counterwallet.io ... port 4000.... user rpc... pass rpc... CP SSL No
-
that should tell it to use the healtcoin CP api to generate the transactions.... see if that helps 🙂
-
rebooting public.coindaddy.io now
-
Ok I will
-
You could add public api endpoint to show load of node and create a prefilled server switching dropdown with load levels displayed 😁
-
Healthcoin server processed transaction instantly
-
-
Thanks... good info to know 🙂
-
So it's all connected together?
-
Can you explain the mechanics?
-
Counterparty is a second layer on top of bitcoin. Counterparty nodes just parse in the bitcoin blockchain and decode transactions. There is no communication between servers/nodes.... The issue people are describing here is a simple one of most everything beating on public.coindaddy.io which is causing it to be slow..... I just suggested that Truck tweak his settings to allow him to point to one of the other servers..... this is just a short-term issue with the coindaddy API being overworked.... now that I know of the issue, will work on getting some load balacing stuff in front of public.coindaddy.io so it bounces/round-robins requests between all the public counterparty nodes that we are running (public.coindaddy.io, healthcoin.counterwallet.io, eds.counterwallet.io)
-
got that yesterday too, assumed everything runs on the counterwallet services
-
*coindaddy services
-
(Been meaning to dig into the gitlab and see how hard is it to run another XCP server)
-
Running a Node | Counterparty
Installation/federated_node.md
-
Counterwallet is just a wallet that talks to counterparty API.... freewallet is just a wallet that talks to counterparty API.... counterparty API is completely independent component from counterwallet :)
-
Yes...Counterparty is a protocol/platform... but it has had no funds to run its own servers the past few years.... so I have been the only one running a public counterparty server through my company coindaddy.io.... just a nice way to support the counterparty community and help make it easier for developres to start playing with the counterparty API without having to spin up a fednode... which is why damn near everything goes through it now and why it is overloaded at times... will work on a loadbalancer solution soon.... Now that we have multiple counterparty servers will prolly just setup something like api.counterparty.io and do load balancing 🙂
-
growing pains... good problem to have... should be solved shortly... until then, if you have issues with sending in freewallet through public.coindaddy.io, try tweaking the settings to use healthcoin.counterwallet.io like I suggested to Truck 🙂
-
-
The counterparty api lives where?
The counterparty server just scans and indexes the OP Return data, then provides public api access? -
The counterpaty API is available on any server that is running counterparty. Yes, the counterparty code just scans and indexes the blockchain data OP_Return and others, indexes the transaction data into a local sqlite database, and then provides access to that data via the API
-
Counterparty is really just decoding transaction data, writing it to a database, then allowing people an API to quickly lookup data on those transactions.... as well as generate new transactions.... easy peasy 🙂
-
Would a Counterparty token issued with quantity 1 and indivisible essentially be an NFT?
-
Depends on your definition of an NFT.... by the strict defintion of 1-of-1, YES, it would be an NFT.... however NFT has become a generalized term used to describe all cryptoartwork associated with tokens
-
-
Is it possible to store the hash of a digital file in a counterparty transaction, for example the transaction creating the token, or is that space used for the counterparty transaction itself (which I believe is the OP_RETURN).
-
for issuances, the only place you could stash data is in the description field.... however, for sends, you can include a memo field... https://counterparty.io/docs/api/#create_sendCounterparty API | Counterparty
Developers/API.md
-
You also have the option to just do a broadcast and then give the hash in the broadcast "text"
-

-
I like the idea of a 1 of 1 locked divisible NFT. That way the buyer can decide to keep it a true NFT and sell as such or piece it out.
The idea of a buyer being able to share his NFT with others up to 100,000,000 people if wanted is cool to me. -
-
I like what you did with SATOSHINFT. It's a clever idea that makes you think, why didn't I think of that.
-
That nft needs to be traded at least once so it gets a crazy valuation... If it trades for 1xcp it will be valued at 100000000 xcp for a full SATOSHINFT
-
🤣
-
I didn’t even think about that!
-
Basically what they are doing with Cryptopunks anyway...
-
I think xcer entered it into the auction
-
😂 only because I was trying to figure a way to create a true single NFT from an asset with more than 1 token issuance via destruction. And @jdogresorg said it would still be divisible.
-
-
I entered a single sat NFT. Satoshinft.
-

For ERC-721, it looks like you can add a URL and 3 lines of meta data which makes it unique. I assume this might be where you'd put a document hash. It sounds like you can do the same with counterparty asset, just not with as much data. Is that correct?
-
You can put a SHA1 in the "description" field when creating the token.
-
You can also link to a JSON file that contains arbitrary data.
-
i've also used broadcasts as a way to add data to an asset
-
anyone know what the first Counterparty rare pepe to make it to another chain?
-
you mean re-minted on ethereum ?
-
How do you do that ? ^^

“History
Although cryptocurrencies came into existence in 2008, NFTs saw the light of the earth in late 2012 in the form of colored coins (although many NFT purists don’t agree that colored coins were the first form of NFT crypto). Colored Coins are small parts of Bitcoin, which can be as small as a Satoshi. However, as Bitcoin was not developed to enable NFTs, Colored coins worked best in a permissioned environment, which means it’s much easier to use a standard database for this purpose. However, it did spark the idea of NFTs, and eventually, by 2014, a platform named Counterparty was created.
Counterparty functioned on top of the Bitcoin platform, but was a P2P financial platform, with a distributed and open-sourced platform. This allowed asset creation, and over the course of the next two years, in-game assets, memes, and trading cards were sold in Counterparty. Again, since it was built on top of the Bitcoin blockchain network, this wasn’t truly a Non Fungible token.” -
-
-
-
At least they mention Counterparty, but this article makes it seem like Counterparty only lasted 2 years. Plus, it cannot have NFTs because it’s built on Bitcoin.
-
Very nice! Is Beeple working on Counterparty now?
-
-
Jdog gave a solution to this problem yesterday. Basically, his server is overload, so you need to switch to another api... let me find that back
-
What we really need is some load balancing between multiple CP servers.... we have 3 counterwallet servers, but counterwallet sucks... eveyone uses freewallet. which uses public.coindaddy.io
-
Counterparty is a second layer on top of bitcoin.
-
Interesting 👍
-
-
Ah yes, thanks 👍
-
It’s fun 🤩
-
-
-
If your having issues with using freewallet and transactions hanging.... try going to the settings screen on Freewallet and update your settings to use the following :
CP Host: api.counterparty.io
CP Port: 4000
CP User: rpc
CP Pass: rpc
CP SSL : No
https://i.gyazo.com/f476c8c45b01593015d708a7ab48eb3c.png
I am also working on setting up a load balancer for api.counterparty.io. and setting up a nice webpage describing the service and settings and giving props to the projects that are contributing to counterparty by paying for CP nodes 🙂
Also, anyone who wants to help contribute to counterparty by paying for a counterparty node/server (1 year minimum), please reach out to me directly and we can work to get addiional servers setup (~$1500/year) and added to the load balancer -
will add a Counterparty node for bitrare
-
Cool.. DM me please and we can get the details worked out 🙂
-
-
-
i query to see if the issuance addresses have done any broadcasts, then i check those broadcasts for a reference to the asset and gather up any additional info that's there
-
freewallet uses this method for "image anchoring" or pairing a hash of the image with an asset
-
I did some sleuthing and figured it out!
https://mearone.com/ -
Great find!
-
Interesting. How did you initially come across the asset?
-
It’s on xchain.io as the 2nd most recent asset. I just reverse image searched the image of the asset. Checked out the creators website and noticed he’s creating prints with a BTC token attached to them
-
Yeah looks like he’s still deciding how many to print before he locks it
-
The other prints look nice
-
How do you think he’ll sell them?
-
It looks like through the website
-
"Fresh new BTC Minted (TBA) print drop for 2021! The long-awaited fine art reproduction of MEAR's iconic 4x5' oil painting "David & Goliath (Tomorrow's Children)" first debuted with Kersaboom Gallery at Art Basel CH nearly a decade ago. MEAR's David & Goliath silkscreen with master printer Richard Duardo was an instant sold out edition so don't sleep on this one, details coming soon!"

If you think that genesis is worse than ETH, i have a bridge to sell you.
-
It makes no sense
-
Do you know this man?

The founder of EOS
-
The former CTO of the company block.one

-
Agree. Almost zero chance, if anything, the opposite, the SEC would look fondly upon XCP.
-
Definitely Not Me
https://t.co/fBMLjp5kq9 - check out my rare pepe NFTs ( $XCP ) vault which I made on matic network . Come and get 9 real rare NFTs ;) #rarepepe #NFT #Crypto #XCP #Blockchain #cryptoart #pepe https://t.co/sYJHjXALiv
-
Is this yours?
-
Does the XCP assets really live on the Matic chain? thought it was only for ETH right now?
-
Yes
-
I drew for him few cards 😏
-
Technicaly , this vault on matic network - it is combination of BTC and ETH addresses so you can add in and withdraw out of vault any XCP tokens and also erc20/ETH tokens . Not even only NFTs , but currencies also
-
Also , as I know, it is only matter of time when opensea and other projects like rarrible will also add options to use layer 2
-
So from the matic sidechain you can generate a valid XCP transaction out of the vault?
-
Can you buy this for 100 xcp? How that work?
-
I will post here information about to make all clear
-
nice, are you going to put it on opensea?
-
After options will be added. But you already can make same vault but in Ether network and put it on opensea.
-
you sent me one to the Btc address, can be used on Ethereum and Matic
-
But that fees...
-
Oh, hello bro! Used your and Mo guide about
-
yeah she said - lol
-
Trading XCP NFTs on Ethereum & Matic Networks
This Guide is to show you how to trade Counterparty (XCP) cryptocurrency or XCP Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs) on Ethereum or Matic, this will…
-
depending on the asset/NFT if it appears to show in the slide show
-
however can just look in the Bitcoin address on xchain.io to see them
-
Yeah, I can not scroll them , but it was good idea from me to put cover like that so
-
Emblem Vault
An entire wallet inside a token
-
Also here is a part below - how to withdraw that tokens on other addresses if wanted after buying
-
this one shows a PEPEONMUSK, but not the SODAPEPESKI that Crypto Blaster donated to the vault - Dev says that not all NFT's are coded the same ???
-
so may not appear on the slide show
-
once you open the NFT and get the private keys - the Pepes are still on the XCP Blockchain
-
I get that matic sidechain controls the btc address I sent the xcp asset to, but how to send back from matic, say, after you sell a vault and buyer wants the asset in freewallet?
Upon purchase you get the private key or something? -
yeah
-
the NFT is a tokenized wallet of Bitcoin and EVM eth address
-
think of it as a normal bitcoin address
-
its encrypted so the creator and the current owner dont know what the private keys are
-
only when "claimed" the NFT is destroyed (cant be sold onwards) and the keys are revealed
-
however if they want to keep it on Ethereum/Matic they can resell it, dont have to claim it
-
then the NFT goes at the speed and gas fee of that network
-
Ty for explaination @DesktopCommando - was reading Matic 'litepaper' today. Cute shit.
-
Until it is claimed the NFT is the owner of the addresses within it
-
I may burn up some gas fees and make an ETH & XCP asset vault then redeem it or whatever and see what the process would be to send that XCP asset to a different address
-
Hrm... What wallet would work if I only had an address pair and not a seed?
-
FreeWallet.io allows you to import a priv key
-
Desktop version
-
perfect.
-
The seed phrase doesnt work with Counterparty - something different from Bitcoin ? however the Private key does or import the key as well
-
Jdog confirmed it's as easy as importing private key into freewallet
-
yeah - just got free wallet the other day - I like the dispensers in there
-
if you just want to make a wallet and not sell it, make it on Poygon(Matic) - costs nothing in gas fees
-
just to play about with it
-
I can send you some Matic Coval & some matic tokens

That has been created, and I was trying to send 1x SODAPEPENSKI to it but seems like rarepepewallet / freewallet both not firing right now
(just sorta vlogging this in case ppl want to try this too, figure if it works I'll list it on Opensea, real rare pepes on Opensea!)Emblem VaultAn entire wallet inside a token
-
paid about $90 in feels lmao still worth the experiment. I'll give it to someone to try and crack open and import to freewallet or sell it for some really small number on opensea.
-
https://xchain.io/address/14qbBPRcMbqFwoK2mriPpPttvL6mWvQen2 is the address in the NFT for anyone playing along:
-
Hi guys 👋
You might have seen that the Counterparty twitter account and subreddit were updated with new cool illustrations.
I've worked on it with a designer, and we plan to update the Counterparty website too. Idea is to have something that is much clearer about XCP aim, and up to date on the design part.
I'm also working on a wallet/marketplace for XCP NFTs named bitrare. I've created a token on XCP that should be used later on the marketplace.
I've put a small amount on dispenser if you want to help fund these projects: https://xchain.io/tx/ac5aebaf4a14a352426f2770278ee5e9f2fb892c5db2bbf0594bbe43c9e2a68e -
i think we need that actual listing before there's too much more successful fund raising
-
and you need to update Counterparty UX/UI for it to have success on these listings
-
yeah
-
-
awesome
-
Awesome
-
Can someone smart take a look at this?
Click "Unconfirmed" (counterparty thinks it's coming!)
Click "View"
Click "Transaction Hash"
(Blockstream never heard of it.) -
it's just that unconfirmed txs hasn't reached all nodes
-
and nodes drop em off after a while, but they get retransmitted
-
iirc
-
tytyty
-
thought I attached a ~$25 fee was going to for speed here vs. thrifty usage
-
i'm waiting for txs that are about twoweekspepe old
-
hah
-
mine are around 5.5 sat/kb and 6.5 sat/kb
-
I have a few ~$5-$10 tx's that are a few days now. Would love smart fee selection, including "baller status" next block drop-down.
-
best would be the side chain
-
Wonder if the Coindaddy node is having trouble finding other nodes...
-
i don't think so
-
No, thats not how bitcoin works... Counterparty transactions are Bitcoin transactions... works the exact same.... a node receives a transaction and relays it to all the nodes it is connected to... those connected nodes eitehr accept or reject the transaction from their local mempool based on local settings (like minimum relay fee).... this is why when you pay a high-value fee, it is seen everywhere quickly, also why if you send a low-value fee, it will sometimes not show up on block explorers until it is actually mined, because each node has its own rules on what transactions it wants to pay attention to and relay and which ones it does not.
-
This is what I expected, so I tried again & cranked the fee up to $45, but still the Blockstream (and other) explorers don't see the tx after 30 min or so.
-
try chain.so... that one usually shows the tx... also, I have had cases where the tx disappears from all block explorers, then shows up a week later.... all depends on how busy the mempool is and what the fee on the tx is.... Also... you can try accelerating your transaction through a BTC transaction accelerator service like btcnitro.com.... just paste in your tx hash and it will lookup the tx and rebroadcast it to other nodes for ya.... can help get it confirmed a bit faster sometimes 🙂
-
Dude you are amazing, thanks deeply for holding the candle all these years.
-
-
Strange, both services say TXid not found.

(with a really high fee)
btw I don't expect any helps here, just sort of posting it publicly in case there really was some node issue, as waiting some days usually fixes XCP issues :) -
-
Did you try changing the CP host in freewallet? I just did an ownership transfer, I don’t see it in Xchain.io under unconfirmed but it is showing on Blockstream.
-
-
-
Ah didn't do that yet going to fire now, remember him posting it but I was foolishly spending quality time with my child instead of intensely obsessing about Pepe's & how I can improve Counterparty. Will do now good looking out!
-
👊
-
Xcer any way to rebroadcast? This time I'm just going to burn up fees & another SODAPEPENSKI to try again.
-
Lmao
-
I usually just send asset again. But I don’t know if you have a bunch of SODAPEPENSKI, if the old TX is going to get relayed in future. I don’t really know TBH.
-
Oh I'm flush with SODAPEPENSKI and I'm willing to gamble.
-
Just need to get a few XCP actual RARE PEPEs on Opensea and try to pamp our bags and get it noticed. lmao
-
Error while trying to broadscast send tx :(
-
Sorry I don’t know. I just did a bunch of orders and had no problems.
-
-
I see the mempool low, thanks for looking fam.
-
4 months ago, could send and order for 10 cents on Sunday.
-
Trying this now / still hanging @ "Generating counterparty tx"
-
Yea, I did have an error earlier and it said I did not have enough BTC. But I did. Then switched Host and worked fine.
-
-
-
Amazing. Using the api.counterparty.io settings?
-
Yes. Probably because it’s only 1 Satoshi though. 😆
-
-
-
Just got api.counterparty.io to send a tx, don't think I changed anything, and again these TX's are not seend by anyone but xchain..
https://xchain.io/tx/7aef7dc5e079906803f067833d5da96dcacb466546b82e504c1ec536c03cf43d
so strange! And currently in an autistic frenzy trying to get one of these on Opensea... -
Yes. Amazingly so
-
hi guys
-
Is there a way to have freewallet set up the TX and give me the hex and I'll just broadcast it somewhere else?
-
Hello
-
hello sex bot
-
Update on trying to sell a PEPE on Opensea via emblem.finance vault:
1) Currently only ETH vaults are available for sale on Opensea. so I burned up a bunch of gas fees and battled XCP clients all day (healthcoin counterwallet finally shipped it) to send 4x SODAPEPENSKI & 69 PEPECASH here:
https://emblem.finance/nft?id=555675
2) So a quick $92 ETH fee to approve sales & an $11 fee to list it & another $12 fee to accept COVAL for it (listed for 1000 COVAL) & we're in business! There is now an actual XCP Rare Pepe on Opensea for sale:
https://opensea.io/assets/0x82c7a8f707110f5fbb16184a5933e9f78a34c6ab/555675
(hoping someone buys it an breaks the vault and returns the XCP assets to their wallet - happy to pay some fees for someone if they want to do it)
3) Created a Matic vault, as that will save a lot of the fees & will make RAREPEPE trading really fun...
https://emblem.finance/nft?id=245807
But Opensea doesn't support emblem.finance vaults on the Matic network yet, but say they will soon. When they do I'm going to vault up a handful of PEPEs on the matic network and list them on Opensea trying to get some PEPE action going on there.Emblem VaultAn entire wallet inside a token
- 08 March 2021 (88 messages)
-
Expensive. Nice work though. How much was the Matic vault to create?
-
300 Covals ($3) and Matic gas to mint $0.003
-
*After you somehow get COVALs on Matic which is currently buy COVALs on Uniswap for eth then use emblem.finance swap to shoot them over to Matic network and if binance withdrew to Matic mainnet you could have eliminated eth
-
(assuming some matic-mainnet Uniswap style thing could sell you COVALs for Matic but the one I found (swapmatic) didn't have the matic/COVAL pair and I couldn't find the contract address for COVALs on Matic so I ADHD'd into something else)
-
or if you are already on Polygon(Matic) can get them at Quickswap, Polygon also have a Fiat-ramp
-
As a starter yeah its expensive to get covals setup on Polygon, but blame Ethereum Gas fees for that
-
I agree its a pain
-
Will try quickswap. What is lowest friction way to get Matic on mainnet? I suppose it's gonna be Binance Matic to Metamask and there is some easy cross chain swap?
-
-
Eth - Matic bridge
-
takes 30 -40 Mins to goto Matic
-
takes 3 hrs to come back :/
-
Opensea (Matic) doesnt allow trades yet, however dark.build is another NFT marketplace scheduled to open in 2 weeks

I'm going to put a couple of RAREPEPE in a Dispenser.
It will be the only dispenser active on my address.
Just wanted to check that once the two assets are dispensed, the dispenser closes and I can again receive BTC normally to that address?
Until such time as I open another Dispenser?
Ping @chiguireitor @jdogresorg
Cheers :) -
You can always receive BTC to your address, the dispenser only vends out tokens if a.) the amount sent is at or above the minimum dispenser vend amount... and b.) the dispenser has funds 🙂
-
Ah, goodo, that's all safu and fine then, thank you @jdogresorg
