Hey did anyone from counterparty ever end up contacting Binance for a listing under their new no fee program? It would make sense for them to list XCP as it’s one of the few authentic blockchain projects out there in a pile of rubble
  • @ShawnLeary #32476 11:13 PM, 02 Jan 2019
we've sent a friendly tweet and also had a dev help with another xcp token listing, so they know we are here. definitely you should give it a try to get it listed

Hi, I am doing research on Counterparty and have a few questions:

    1) Is all the source code available online (open source)?

    2) In what country is the company registered, and under what name?

    3) Will token holders receive dividends from holding it?

    4) Did some hack or stolen tokens ever happened?
  • @jdogresorg #32503 04:22 PM, 03 Jan 2019
    1) Is all the source code available online (open source)?
Yes, it is all open source and available at https://github.com/CounterpartyXCP

    2) In what country is the company registered, and under what name?
Counterparty is an open source project and is not a registered company.

    3) Will token holders receive dividends from holding it?
No. Holders of XCP will not receive dividends from holding XCP (at least not from the Counterparty project).

    4) Did some hack or stolen tokens ever happened?
Yes, in the first couple months of the launch in 2014 a white-hat hacker discovered a vulnerability in counterpartyd and used it to 'steal' 35,000 XCP from Poloniex.

The bug was quickly fixed and the hacker returned all of the funds to Poloniex. This bug led the CP developers to have the code reviewed by Peter TOdd and a full independent security audit performed by Sergio Lerner, which found no significant security holes.

  • @646403371 #32514 12:57 PM, 04 Jan 2019
    你们好,打扰一下。
  • Guess it depends on your perspective... Blockstream added OP_RETURN at 80-bytes... CP started using them, then all of a sudden OP_RETURN was truncated to 40 bytes making it prettymuch unusable for CP.... we worked around it... thanks to CPs multiple encoding methods prettymuch no way to stop CP from working... just gotta switcht the encoding methods 🙂

  • @jdogresorg #32721 06:01 PM, 12 Jan 2019
yes.... MPMA is essentially done/coded... but, can only support sending up to 2 assets/addresses per send.... this is why CIP6 needs to be completed before MPMA is released... so we can encode MUCH more data in a tx and support MPMA sends with hundreds of addresses/assets.
  • @jdogresorg #32722 06:02 PM, 12 Jan 2019
CIP6 had a bunch of code that conflicted with segwit... so, it was decided that it would be best to roll out segwit and get that working, then circle back and finish CIP6 in the next release.

  • I don't see counterparty going down regularly.... my CP fednodes have been running about a week without any downtime/errors...... I did notice a few weeks ago that at times communication between indexd and counterparty was breaking down and counterparty would exit eventually after failing to talk to indexd..... but that issue seems to have been fixed a couple weeks ago. You might want to check the status of indexd to verify that it is up and fully synced.... syncing indexd can take a LONG time (3-5 days)...... You can save yourself a bit of time by downloading the indexd bootstrap images I created.... check out http://j-dog.net/counterparty/readme.txt

    Why so spam?
  • @jdogresorg #33053 05:03 PM, 29 Jan 2019
LOL.... no more spam than the Bitcorns SPAM in here that you seemed to have no problem with.... MafiaWars is a Counterparty project.... Book of Orbs is a Counterparty project... Posting about Counterparty projects in a Counterparty chat sure doesnt seem to be spam.
  • @raretruck #33054 05:05 PM, 29 Jan 2019
You sure are defensive for someone who is completely unaffiliated from the project in every way
  • @jdogresorg #33055 05:05 PM, 29 Jan 2019
LOL.... ok mr truck. You said a post was spam, I was simply explaining why it is not spam... so that you could clearly identify what IS spam in the future. Have a nice day mr truck.
  • @raretruck #33056 05:08 PM, 29 Jan 2019
    Thanks I will
  • @jdogresorg #33057 05:08 PM, 29 Jan 2019
  • I thought Mafia Wars was J Dog? He's unaffiliated from the project?
  • Nope. I am not associated with the project other than supporting it as I do all other Counterparty projects.
  • Want to join the Bitcorn Community? It's a great Counterparty project that would love your support. Paste your address in the chat and get some CROPS - https://t.me/bitcorns

Hey, you guys would be able to help me understand something: what are the obstacles preventing Counterparty being utilized as a security token offering platform providing liquidity via its DEX? My understanding is that currently many STO’s are spending millions on this process and taking such a long time to issue and list.
  • @603507099 #33090 07:17 AM, 31 Jan 2019
I really like this group btw. Your gifs make me laugh.
