I was hoping to be proven wrong about my assumptions on how things were heading since the start of the vote for fees, it's not looking likely, I still have hope that I may end up been wrong, seems they haven't fixed the "bug" regarding dispensing sub assets -
There is no such thing as a manual transaction, they all are using tools -
Kind of a pretty basic feature -
Yeh there are legit 3-5 small ordinals/rune spaces daily -
And a big part of what onboarded people last cycle was CruptoChainer going on Clubhouse 🤷♂️ -
There is no fully automated process with any tools and all tools require some manual effort/input -
U can do a multisends but you must manually input the addresses or manually click copy/paste which again, to my initial point, would take more than a second -
But not really 2 separate tx (multisend), the original claim was he could do so many tx, in one second, my sarcastic response to that claim which was more for a comical purpose, was indeed accurate, it would take more than a second to do 1 tx, let alone multiple (1+), regardless of any tool out there, but he probably didn't mean it literally, he was been as bit of a dick, threatening users and using disrurbing language on multiple occasions so he got those kinda responses from me, if we were talking more technical, he actually said if he already had several outputs ready (not really normal activity, would require multiple wallets for average user), but even so if he had some tooling, if he was to send with one click of a button, that might be classed as a multisend, and probably wouldn't be effected by rate limiting, if he had to hit send on each individual output, which kind of was his claim, then I wouldn't be surprised at all of how many times he could manually hit a button/send in one second, wouldn't be enough to trigger the rate limit -
I get his overall point, even I have been rate limited multiple times just checking addresses/assets, unfortunately it was added for a reason -
-
Is hard if those who identify issues which seem to only effect frw, or disagree with certain changes get muted/banned from their forked chat, I thought when both sides were willing to remove banners that was a start of something, but that's not the case -
We will probably have to either go with the centralised version/future versions of cp, or not at all. -
-
-
If people want to use horizon, or any other wallet that's fine, but I've been using frw for years, and want to continue doing so -
And still now after week/s, I still can't dispense a subasset (which used xcp to create) -
Just thinking of sending/distributing assets in one transaction, dividend is actually fukin awesome

For 0.00001024 Btc (4 sat v/byte)
722 assets were distributed to 358 addresses -
Imagine the cost and time if sent individual or even with a multisend -
Let's hope there will be no "bug" loss of funcunality on this awesome feature -
-
But even doing a dividend requires some manual input, choose asset, choose dividend, choose amount, click send confirm, and would still take more than a second 😂😂😂😂 -
More like questioning their absolute authority results in removal.
Hell off a way to retain community involvement ! -

ADAM WORKS FOR VITALIK -
Or maybe he works for Lubin -
Idk who that is but probably -
It's decyntralyzed -
Wow, multisend for 15 assets costs about $10, used to send 100 for less than 50c -
Cheaper to send to individually, wounder why that is -
Oah and I had the transaction ready, and it took about 5 seconds to click all the buttons required for that one tx (multiple tx combined into 1) 😎😂 -
Bro wut? -
Yh bout $9 lol, second part of tx was triple the first, wounder if that has anything to with 2.0 -
Wen things got expensive (fees) , I realised 15 assets/sends was the sweet spot to save on fees, so should have been less than $1 -
2 sat vbyte, 42c X2 -
Is OK but wen u have thousands of assets to arrange 😢 -
But at least we have numeric subassets 😂😂😂😂 -
Chain platform has support for lists…. Something I’ve wanted to add to counterparty for a long time…. Basically you just pay a fee to upload a list of addresses and then any of the transactions can reference that list and use it….. for instance you could upload a list of rare Pepe holders addresses, and then use the AirDrop functionality, which would be a single small unchained transaction and reference the list of addresses in order to do an AirDrop to a large number of people for a cheap transaction fee…..
Also, I have the ability to edit existing lists on X chain platform, so that users can upload a list of addresses or tokens, and then add or remove addresses or tokens from that list easily…. Each added creates a new list so maintaining large list of addresses for AirDrop and allow and block lists on tokens and transactions is cheap and effective and easy. -
That would be dope, but I'm just sending rares from multiple addresses to one, so using multisend to send a bunch from one address to another, although time consuming, this never used to cost so much, has something changed from 2.0 like dispensers made more expensive -
I once separated all assets, then combined again, then slightly separated, should have kept all separated lol -
Yes, it got considerably more expensive when Adam broke p2sh encoding, which then forced users to use multi encoding, which requires additional BTC to be written to all of the outputs required to encode the data….. that is why MPMA sends are considerably more expensive…. Because users are being forced to use multi SIG and coding, which is less efficient and more expensive….
Supposedly things will become cheaper again once taproot support is enabled ….. but yeah Adam broke P2 SH encoding many months ago and ever since then MPA sentences have been considerably more expensive. -

-
Adam says that Bitcoin core disabled P2 SH and that’s why he was not able to continue supporting P2SH in counterparty…. However, that is not true and Bitcoin core still supports P2 SH transactions…. The reality is Adam just didn’t want to waste his time updating the P2 SH encoding format and so he just said Bitcoin core broke P2 SH and use that as justification for disabling the cheaper encoding method -
Javier and I updated counterparty classic to use the latest version of Bitcoin core 28.1 and were able to continue using the exact same P2 SH encoding and decoding method without any changes…. So what Adam is saying is not true Bitcoin core didn’t disable P2SH encoding and rather Adam changed counterparty in such a way that it was easier for him to just disable P2SH encoding rather than go back and make sure P2SH encoding continue to work….. and as a result, users have to pay a higher transaction fee on MPMA sends.
It’s very frustrating when a developer engages in a disingenuous way, and tells the end users things that are untrue ….. at the end of the day the community are the ones who are suffering by paying higher transaction fees, and using more BTC than they had to win the past to do things like open and close dispensers (3 tx to open and 3 tx to close vs 1 tx to open and 1 tx to close) -
Xcer and others choose to focus on things that are trivial, like the parsespeed of counterparty as proof that things are improving….. but at the end of the day bitcoin blocks are produced every 10 minutes or so, and counterparty classic and older versions of counterparty are able to parse all the transactions perfectly fine in under a minute in most cases….
So yay counterparty can parse things faster, but the cost is that now users have higher transaction fees, and doing things requires more transactions than it did in the past -
I'm gonna keep my told ya so's🌍 -
There seems to be enough consensus in here rn for a move towards something else.
Is that not an option on the table? -
With P2SH we used to be able to do up to 1000 sends for a couple of bucks…. I know because when I was testing the 1000 send limitation I generated a transaction that did 1000 sends -
We are just a bunch of people in a room with opinions and at the end of the day, Adam has control of the counterparty properties and total control of the counterparty repository, so he can continue forcing changes and doing what he feels as best and keep calling it counterparty and not much that we can do to stop that…. The ledger has already been forked into the counterparty and counterparty classic…. But I don’t think the solution here is to try to force users to use counterparty classic but rather just wait a little bit longer for xchain platform to be produced and then they will have the option to migrate their tokens to a new platform, which is much faster has more functionality, and allows for cross chain functionality like swaps, and cross chain dex and cross chain dispensers…… like creating a dispenser to sell a rare Pepe token on bitcoin chain but accepting Litecoin as payment….
Dispensers also work and are triggered with other tokens …. So you could set up a dispenser to sell a rare Pepe card directly for Pepe cash in a dispenser -
my opinion is that it’s best to just move onto something better than continue, trying to fight over the ledger and control of the counterparty name….. We’re going on two years of disagreements and 9+ months of having different ledger, forks, and community divided and arguing….. best to just move onto something else and let any users who are happy with the platform the way it is under Adam’s leadership continue to use it rather than continuing to fight an uphill battle against centralization and censorship. -
I have done like 150 for 50c in the past, but now it is cheaper not to even use multisend, thanks stamp party -
Thanks for the technical answer, I kinda assumed that was the case -
-
This is not so great if auctions start up again also, things we took for granted 😢 -
-
They have an amazing test suite 😂😂😂 -

Bs protocol -
I'm actually pritty gutted about the multisend, no point in using it as it costs more than doing everything individually -
-
Send 15 assets multisend, $9, send individually $5 -
Thanks to 2.0 -
Before less than $1 -
-
-
I haven't used much in the last few years, because of all the changes, I had loads of stuff to do as well, loads of artwork lined up etc. -
But even moving a few assets these days is a ballache -
Guess the stamp crew don't mind spending $100 to make 10 pixel squared jpeg -
Or didn't, pritty much dead now -
That sucks, but was this issue reported to the devs ? Just discussing it here won’t change much
-
I'm afraid reporting any issues to the "devs" results in been banned -

300 dependencies and "the devs" cant update the most important one?
let me guess, once reported, in any form the messenger will be told he is wrong, then publicly that person will be scapegoated into being an exploiter? -

It’s much easier to discredit and ignore singular voices than it is to hold yourself accountable and spend time looking into every users complaint… unfortunately it seems the only things that seem to get attention or resolved, is when a large group of users complain about the same thing….
When I told them that they had broken, MPMA send memos, they told me I was a liar and that users were never able to send multiple memos in an MPMA send….. even after I pointed to a send that had many different memos. They still never admitted that they were mistaken, and instead just quietly fixed it.
A perfect example of them just assuming how things are and telling users that they are wrong and ignoring them rather than actually taking a few seconds to look into the code and figure out what was possible before and what they are breaking now .
This supposed test suite I keep hearing about sure seems to miss a lot of issues….. manual testing of things is a pain in the ass, but it finds problems way more efficiently than the test suite seems to.
I also reported an issue a couple of weeks ago about not being able to create a dispenser using a subset name anymore….. something that has been working perfectly fine for many years…. Now users are forced to use the numeric asset name when creating a dispenser for sub asset….
And of course, rather than admitting that they were wrong and that something broke and functionality was lost and that their test suite didn’t find this problem…. They talk in circles and say it’ll get fixed in the next release.
I find it very telling that they are pushing forward with this CBOR protocol changed stuff and refusing to enable reverse compatibility now because testing would take too long…. And instead are putting out a release which breaks reverse compatibility for issuances and saying it’s perfectly OK because they’ll add back reverse compatibility in a future change..
This is not how reverse compatibility and testing suites are supposed to work…. Testing suites are supposed to test all functionality and when new code is added detect if anything breaks…. Their test suite doesn’t seem to do this at all as only manual testing and users finding things that no longer work or how issues are being found, not via their test suite🤷🏻♂️ -
And I can't input sub asset numeric asset name as of yet or select it -
Mayby on the almighty horizon wallet but I wouldn't know kek -
Don't think I trust importing seed/key as they suggested to users without even mentioning any safety risk of doing so, but they care about safety -
I mean with all the releases, "bugs" I'm a bit sceptical -
Yeah, I’m hopeful that they fix that issue in the next release so that I don’t have to waste my time adding code to free wallet to look up numeric names associated with sub assets and put out a release specifically to fix a bug that they introduced in counterparty…..
It’s almost like they specifically target the way things work in free, wallet, and break them in such a way that I’m either forced to release a new version of free wallet, or have users be unable to continue using the wallet as they have in the past….. sure seems like it’s a targeted move to waste of my time… breaking things that worked in free wallet and trying to drive users to their horizon wallet -
It is not the first issue that seems targeted -
How many issues before it is a full conclusion lol -
I also find it pretty funny that they say they wrote an explorer that runs just on the counterparty APIs…. And that they only need two backend API servers to support the traffic on their explorer….
But in reality, they’ve already admitted to writing the unspebdable API, which is what their explorer runs on …. Because you can’t easily pull the data that you want from the counterparty API and display it in an explorer, so they have to write some middleware unspendable api…. And they have never released any kind of statistics on how many users are actually using their explorer.
Meanwhile, the tactic of dumping all of the counterparty data from SQLite into MySQL databases via counterparty2mysql, and then just writing custom swl queries that pull exactly the data that you want and offering it up via easy to use API’s like I do on tokenscan, is looked down upon by the core devs…
To me having all of the counterparty data available in a highly available and standardized SQL database where developers can pull exactly the data they want out using a single query seems much more efficient than having to bounce back-and-forth between multiple counterparty API queries to extract the data that you want.
Just rambling now, but yet another case of things working perfectly fine, and Adam and team coming in and reinventing the wheel under the guise of improvements, but still having to use a third-party middleware layer called the unspendable API to pull the data that they need from counterparty…. Vs just using what already existed in the community for 10 years 🤷🏻♂️ -
Blockscan used to try to run its explorer directly using counterparty API queries and it became very clear very quickly that no explorer could scale up to handle thousands of users at a single time because the API were not fast enough and inefficient….. which is why I wrote counterparty2mysql and I’m able to handle 25+ million API request on token scan each month. -
Careful you’ll be called a conspiracy theorist😜🤷🏻♂️ -

I’ve run into your channels with tacky porn in them many times in the past few years. Porn is trashy and childish. This isn’t a porn channel, I dont want to have to worry about kids or wife seeing that on screen while I’m scrolling.
Porn brain is very real, and lust is a deadly sin. Kills your soul
Gonna be an up hill battle getting business to take counterparty seriously when admins post porn in the ‘official chat’, but you do you boo. You’re could get some poor sap fired just because he scrolled for answers.
Wouldn’t it be nice if a middle school were interested in Counterparty, oh wait never mind, probably not. -

The xcp balance snapshot, would that also be the one at block 866.000 or a future block? - 04 June 2025 (68 messages)

Thanks for the feedback.... this is not necessarily a channel focused on onboarding businesses and getting ppl to take Counterparty seriously in a business context.... its a channel for community members to discuss what they feel about counterparty, what improvements could be made, etc... I can understand your viewpoint on what you consider porn tho and how it could be off-putting to some... I dont feel wer posted any porn here (no nudity), but definitely edgy content -
Yeah... the XCP balance snapshot was taken at 866000... so airdrops of XCHAIN will use data from the 866000 xcp balance snapshot... best to ask xchain related questions in the xchain channel going forward... dont wanna promote or distract from CP discussions in this channel 🙂 -

Yup…. If you build a platform and then walk away from it and then come back later, you can’t claim that you’ve been involved from the very beginning and that you’re aware of all of the stuff that’s been built on the platform since your departure….. grift level 99 -
at what point do we start calling it sabotage and not a grift -
Well, I don’t think he has any ill intentions and I don’t think he’s trying to bring the platform down….. I do believe that he is doing what he feels is best…. However, as he’s been absent from the space and platform usage for 10 years, he is woefully ignorant of the culture and community that has been built up, and as a result, his decisions are not based on what is truly best for the community, but rather what his uninformed opinion is on what is best for the community.
Also, I think that the counterparty community is so unique that it truly stands apart as something entirely different than other communities …. But Adam’s understanding of community is simply the group of users who use the platform, and does not understand the intricacies or uniqueness of this specific community other than to pay it lip service…
Many of us have been here for many bull and bear markets and stuck with the platform because we truly believe it is something unique and we feel a sense of community with all of the like-minded individuals that stuck around….
I think sabotage denotes ill intent …. And even though Adam is doing a great job of demolishing the counterparty community and fracturing it, I think it’s just that he doesn’t have the same understanding of the history and the community as many of us who have been here from the beginning do.
It’s very clear to me that he considers counterparty his own personal software project and is only interested in paying lip service to the community when he’s done making all of the changes that he wants ….. point in case, now that he’s forced in all of his controversial changes he wants to re-institute the CIP process, and get community feedback….. but if you watch how development continues moving forward, you will see that nothing will change, he will not be proposing all of his changes through the counterparty improvement proposal, and getting community feedback on it, he will continue doing what he feels his best using his GitHub issues model, and the only thing that counterparty improvement proposals will be used for is to try to extract ideas and value from the community so that he can then implement them how he best sees fit….. so not really a community driven collaborative process but rather an idea repository while he will gets to pick and choose the ideas that he wants to implement…… nothing that I’ve seen about him or his behavior over the past two years, indicates that he has any interest in hearing any opinion other than his own or opinions which agree with him…. And I don’t see that changing anytime soon. -
Perfect example is him yesterday saying he wanted to reinstitute the CIP process and if the communities behind it then he’ll do so….. then removing the part where he says he cares about if the community is behind her or not and just forces that idea through because that’s what he wants…. Just paying the community lip service and not actually caring what they have to say…. Imo it’s all about damage control and trying to appear as if it is an open collaborative community when in reality it’s just more of the same -

This has probably been discussed a bunch of times, but just for my own clarification
Can i do a multi-send right now?
Is that still a thing?
sucks to have to ask -
yes you can still do multi-send on counterparty... however since they disabled p2sh format people are now forced to do mpma sends via multisig format, which is considerably more expensive.... In theory, the cost of doing an MPMA send will come down again once the Taproot (p2tr) encoding method goes live in a couple weeks..... -
-
And is cheaper it seems to send individually -
depends on number of assets -
who are the interested parties in horizon? i recently noticed pepewtf uses horizon links instead of tscan -
Well I attempted on what used to be the best asset amount per send value for money which was 14/15 lines, you can increase lines but that increases costs, yes once upon a time I could have sent 100 assets/lines for 50c, but more recently but before 2.0 changes (with high fluctuating fees) it was much cheaper to send 7 multisends of 15 lines than 1 multisend of 100 lines.
So based off that, I'm assuming it's probably the same.
Sending 15 assets cost me $9 as a multisend, I then continued to send separately and managed to send another 15 as separate tx for about $4.
So I think really it doesn't depend on the amount of sends as now multisends require additional btc to be written to all of the outputs required to encode the data with 2.0s forced multi encoding.
So as of today I believe multisend is useless. -
The main feature that made settling large auctions with low lot values economically viable... driving a stake through the heart of community based Counterparty new art asset visibility and price discovery. -
Yup -
GM to everyone, and let's hope that Taproot (p2tr) encoding method gets us back to viable MPMA costs territory. -
Not only that but it saves time and money, now to save costs (still more expensive than before) it requires more time, basically making multisend redundant for now, well there's always those that don't have to worry about fees -
WTH settlement workflow was optimised to take advantage of MPMA, reduced many hours of work to far fewer hours, while saving as much BTC as possible -
I'm spending more money moving assets from one address to another, on addresses that belong to me, even this process has become more difficult and more expensive, should be cheaper and easier moving forward, not the reverse, but yes auctions, not only is it bad for auctioneers, it's also bad for sellers that want to sell bundles with escrow service, if auctioneers priced that in they would have to increases fees etc -
yes... I revisited the unit economics in the past few weeks, unviable to resume WTH operations as it was formerly constructed and operated unfortunately.
sellers cannot batch send their assets to an escrow address without risking lots of coin on a no sale (what is a substantial sum for many in the community)
auction house cannot settle out all sales to multiple parties cost efficiently
imagine running and settling two session 60 to 90 lot auctions with multiple mega lots of up to 35 assets each without MPMA to batch out the asset sends, nightmare to do with individual sends, and as wallet access is a trusted asset custody zone, its not something that can be outsourced to workers either, so its the key person time commitment impact as well -
Unviable indeed, and I'm afraid currently multisend is basically redundant other than to those who are happier to spend 2-3X amount in fees -
-
Lend me a btc 😂 -
If I had one I would -
-
Sweep is still good (for now) if you want all assets in one address, but doesn't help if you are organising collections -
-
it's a per address function, sweep from one to another
doesn't close out dispensers AFAIK -
That's what I thought too -
No, you sweep all assets from one address to another, you can also use sweep to change owner of all tokens to another, you can choose not to also, doesn't close dispensers -
I'll never get muh dirty hands on a full coin.... -
Not sure if u still need xcp to sweep? -
That's what I thought.
So every time in the past I set up a dispenser in secondary address the only way to get all those closed and the assets back into the main is fuggen sending corn to each Fukin one and closing / sending back to the main. -
I think that was always the case, only difference now is to create a dispenser you have to send asset and corn to the new address -
Creating a dispenser to a new address, more expensive and time consuming -
But I mean all worth it for numeric subassets right? right? -

What happened? -
Currently can't dispense my named subasset that used xcp to create, now they removed xcp fee for all subassets to accomade their view that numerics shouldn't have a fee, because having a fee on a subasset while having no fee on a numeric asset made zero sense, so rather than listen to the vote of the community and put in a fee for numerics, they chose to devalue all those subassets that paid xcp? And now theirs a "bug" stopping us from dispensing named subaasets 😂 -
Undispensable? -
I'm glad that all the things that made cp, cp, different unique and legendary, functions that were before their time, is now changing to be like others, because you know, this influx of users and adoption is wonderful, how did we ever manage before these bullish times. -

Yeah, they changed their links right after the fork…. At the time, Joe Looney was hired hand for them, and he was very welcome against token scan, and the fork so I imagine that played a bit of a role in replacing the links.
But token stand still gets 50 to 80,000 unique visitors every month, and tons of inbound links from X chain.io… so one website choosing to point to a different explorer has no real impact on the traffic driven to tokenscan -
Vector did show up and start speaking his viewpoints and full supportive Adam around the exact same time that Evan went silent… could be… also could explain why vector was so protective of who he was and what he was involved in and so hateful of sock accounts 😜 -
Kind of disappointed that Mike didn’t take me up on the fight offer before Adam returned… Makes big on talking, but not real big on backing up his words with action….
Maybe at some future Bitcoin event I can take both of them on ala bitboy style…. 😜 -
-
i'm fine with a fight in the boxing / mma ring settling this... lol... give Mike n I a month to get into fighting shape again and i'm down.... celebrity death match crypto style (in seriousness, this is not how we should resolve things).... but if the community wants to see it get physical, in a stamps vs j-dog fight in a ring, i'm down... wont resolve anything, but Mike n I can punch on one another to get out feelings out... n community can enjoy watching whoever they support get beat up, or win.... pure entertainment.. ;p; -

I can see it now. They send the midget out first, he runs laps around you while the Boss shouts instructions based on his deep professional knowledge attained by occasionaly watching mma shorts while sitting on the couch.

Release v11.0.1 · CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-coreRelease Notes - Counterparty Core v11.0.1 (2025-06-11) This release is a patch on the v11.0.0 protocol upgrade with the same activation block (902,000). It allows for backwards-compatibility in the...
-
hrm... so loudly on github tell us we are wrong and that CBOR is required and that it will take too long to do testing and that they will add reverse compatability in the future and that it isn't a big deal.... then quietly add reverse compatibility to a release before protocol activation.... glad that they did the right thing... but would be even better if they would just admit they made a mistake and say that they were going to do this rather than all the grandstanding about it being unreasonable to put out a second release and expect ppl to update to that second release before protocol activation.... when that is EXACTLY what they wind up doing -
Revert CBOR Encoding (?) · Issue #3173 · CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-coreAs part of the v11.0.0 protocol change, we switched to a new transaction data encoding method using the CBOR standard for Sweep, Enhanced Send, Fairminter, Fairmint, Issuance and Broadcast transact...

Also posted a comment on the original github issue pointing out that once again,... would be nice if my feedback was not immediately discredted as trolling and ignored... and my requests called unreasonable.... as, turns out what I suggested is EXACTLY what they did... quietly... after calling me a troll and telling me I was unreasonable 🤷️️️️️️🙄️️️️️️ -

we won't talk about the fact that the real reason that they put out another release before protocol activation kicked in is that they found a bug in their release which would have crashed all nodes and so they put out another release because they would have had to put out another "hotfix" release to bring all nodes back up after the protocol change activated... we will continue to paint it as if they just did the right thing and just added reverse compatbility and are doing the right thing and are being the good guys... and not that they are still not doing proper testing of their releases and putting out software which requires hotfixes.... at least they are getting better at finding bugs before they take nodes down... so a bit of a step in the right direction... maybe soon they will put out releases which dont require hotfixes or additional releases before protocol activations 😛 -

Hey, we're looking community leaders for a DAO. Need experienced mods and managers. Weekly $400–$1,150 range. If you're in the space or know someone let’s talk -
FYI... this is the exact reason why I am disengaging from Counterparty... https://github.com/CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-core/issues/3173#issuecomment-2972610158 .... even when they do what I suggest and put out a release fixing reverse compatibility before the protocol change, they still call me a troll and discredit any feedback that people like myself and JP give. Counterparty is no longer a community driven project, and the Adam and ouziel live in an echo chamber only listening to the voices which parrot back to them what they want to hear.Revert CBOR Encoding (?) · Issue #3173 · CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-coreAs part of the v11.0.0 protocol change, we switched to a new transaction data encoding method using the CBOR standard for Sweep, Enhanced Send, Fairminter, Fairmint, Issuance and Broadcast transact...

anyone buying xcp? anywhere? seems like there zero volume anywhere -
-
You want to buy or sell? -
Seems like there’s not much activity on counterparty anywhere… no new projects…. No real buying and selling…. No new developers… but I’m sure that the counterparty cord developers have everything under control and there’s no problems🤷🏻♂️🤪
Adam, vector confetti, dime squanderer, MikeInSpace, and ouziel (who all happened to be the loudest supporters of Adam and employees of unspendable labs) are happy to reassure you that everything is fine, that there’s no problems, that anyone who speaks out with concerns is a troll ,and that there’s great things ahead…
Meanwhile, all the OG‘s have either spoken up loudly against the current direction, or have fallen silent… even Joe Looney is oddly quiet recently…
The only person who is screaming the praises of Adam who is not an employee seems to be Xcer, who’s been around the space for about five years…
Under my leadership, we had Joe Looney, Shannon code, JP Jansen, Javier, John Villar, and myself as core contributors / maintainers… all contributing code and ideas and a very active developer channel to try to push counterparty forward … it may have been messy and noisy at times… but progress was slow and steady…. And there was a true sense of community and that everyone had a voice…. Now we have everything centralized under Adam as the single leader deciding everything for counterparty, ignoring, discrediting, muting/kicking/censoring and banning voices that he disagrees with and calling them trolls, centralizing conversations to GitHub, forcing code changes through without discussion, ignoring community outrage, when controversial changes are discovered…. It’s very transparent to me that this is no longer a community driven project, and the community is just paid lip service.
Anyway, everyone’s entitled to their opinion, but I think the writings on the wall… and the last two years of actions by Adam and team back up what I have said….. and the last year of usage and price depreciation and lack of adoption of features back up what I believed to be true about the slow death of the community and interest in the platform -
I still have hope that things can turn around… but not with Adam as the community leader…. Someone like shaban needs to step into a community leadership role and be given some sort of authority over what features do and do not make it into the code base….. if Adam and team are allowed to continue forcing their will over features and what they feel is best for the community rather than listening to the community then counterparty will continue on the death spiral than it has been on for the past year -

can definitely see the difference between 2023-2024 when Javier and I were slowly working on features and had community support... and when we handed control back to Adam... and activity dropped... then a big spike when fair mints were activated of ppl just spamming mints for the first fairmint... then ded.... truly sad 😢️️️️️️ -

yes you can... but be aware that it is on a separate ledger, so not on the main "counterparty" ledger... prolly best to just wait for xchain... but up to you... just want to be clear not encouraging anyone to use classic unless your aware of what your doing 🙂 -

like clockwork... run out of funds... go back to the VC and ask for more funds... this time raised $1.5M yesterday.... but of course, no mention of this by Adam and team (just like there was no mention of it in the first place until I called it out... which was what made adam rage-quit this channel... being held accountable), or of the conflict of interest of having a VC-backed for-profit company in charge of a supposedly "decentralized community driven" protocol.... -
So much for the whole "They are doing all this dev work for free" nonsense that Xcer seems to try and push... nope, they getting paid, and clearly the VC funds are driving the counterparty development, and not the community... could have had open source PSBT where anyone could create and store PSBT without having to pay a $2 per listing fee like Horizon charges... but nope, why build something in a free open way that benefits everyone when you can build walled gardens and charge for access.... shame shame 😛 -

This chat is witty af -

Which is fine but Core Devs have a conflict of interest against current tooling that supports an overwhelming majority of the community. So intentionally making things harder for competing wallets banning other devs does not seem in the best interest of the community. -
-
So there are two different potential conflicts of interest that I (Adam) see. The first is the possibility of supporting Unspendable Labs' business over the interests of the community (e.g. Horizon Wallet + Explorer over other wallets and explorers). The second is that the entities funding the company Unspendable Labs could push the protocol development in a way that favors their own interests.
The second question is easy to answer: the existing funding for UL comes 100% from (1) myself, (2) the Bitcoin Frontier Fund (who have made their investment public), and (3) close friends and family (whose names I won't disclose)
The first question is harder to answer. Yes, there's a potential conflict of interest. It's possible that I personally could push to change the protocol in a way that favors the UL business. That's possible in any case where someone who leads development of a community project also runs a business that makes use of that project. All I can really say here that UL and I are much more incentivized to make Counterparty successful than to increase UL's short-term revenue. That's why 100% of Counterparty development is done out in the open, including all issue tracking and prioritization, and why Horizon Wallet is fully open-source. -
Just for historical reference.... Adam said that 100% of the UL funding comes from himself and close friends and family.... that was back last year when they first started up.... now it seems that is no longer the case as they just took on 1.5M of funds from additional investors... just passing along the info which is not being shared about UL funding and its motivations driving counterparty development... and one wonders why I was screaming for transparency and about conflict of interest last year 🤷️️️️️️ -

Worst part about it is the time it’s taking them to break it -
I think the worst thing is the larping they continue to do that this is a community driven project and they want others to contribute.... they re-instate the CIP process... to pretend that they are open to collaboration... but when pressed, it becomes clear they maintain a death grip on the code, and no one has contributed any code to counterparty in the past year besides adam and ouziel, despite them pretending that is not the case -

Amazed by his ingenious methodology for increasing the return on investment for interested parties. Sabotaging most community relationships in order to be King of the Hill will surely translate directly into profits. Obviously Adam knows better than a multiple rooms full of heavy users, no need to actually eat the pudding he makes. -
