Any idea why Counterwallet does this? -
So what are you guys thoughts on the new taproot update and the ordinals I wanna hear from you guys because I was looking in like counterparty pretty much did all this years ago but now they have like smart contracts and I feel like btc isn’t made for that ; like it’s gonna eat up block space faster and we will see the blocks being pushed faster idk what you guys think ? -
So btc is a transaction based open source type of thing , each transaction pushing us a little more forward now with the influx with these inscriptions and people adopting even more wouldn’t that in turn boost the amount of transactions in turn pushing the blocks forward faster ?

Yeah.. I had to make some adjustments to block traffic from stmps.xyz... they were abusing the xchain site horribly (making 4000+ requests to xchain per user for every 1 page load on their site), and were causing servers to get overloaded and go down for the past 3 days... finally had some time to pop my head up and fix the issue.... xchain should be back to running more stable now... still seeing a good uptick in traffic and such, but should be able to handle all the new traffic fine, provided I stay on top of abuse 😛 .... It is important that xchain stays up and accessible for everyone, as that is the only Counterparty explorer, and the xchain API powers freewallet... so, if xchain goes down, freewallet stops working... which is no bueno 😛 -

Issue updating token description on FW "error while trying to broadcast issuance transaction". Tried increasing tx fee.

that error is specific to your address... not something I can help with... you can open debug console (click logo->debug button) and then try to broadcast your try again... and in the console copy your signed transaction and try to broadcast through a different tool like https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/pushtx/

that should give ya an error message indicating the problem with your tx... I get issues sometimes too if I use too many txs in a row... can only chain about 15 txs together before having issues.. even less if your stamping

Although there was some talk of funding a CP fork... Joe made it clear the challenges in doing that. I think at minimum there can be investment in current CP even if some investment in an experimental fork also happens.

Having Tether ontop of Counterparty would enable reverse dispensers, the equivalent of limit buy orders for NFTs and XCP assets on this Bitcoin DEX. XCP has a large user base who would appreciate this. Bigger than Liquid's! Let @paoloardoino know you want this!

I made a btc transfer it's spendable in freewallet but pending in counterwallet. how long for it to catch up? -

There is no issue…. The issue is dex-trace just enabling and disabling withdraws at random… xchsin was down for 2 hours… no reason for them to disable wthdraws for multiple days…. But this is what we get with centralized exchanges…. If you need xcp, use dispensers n not dex-trade unless your ok with waiting

Might be n00b question @jdogresorg but I've seen people suggest that holding 100s of assets in a wallet address can "slow" your wallet down, is this true, on either counterwallet or freewallet? Is it better to transact on an empty wallet, or just rumours?

its all preferences... I keep most my stuff in a single wallet for organization purposes... wallets with larger quantity of assets/balances will require some more API calls to get all the data, but overall shouldn't be that much (I allow 500 balances per API request to xchain I think.... so 1500 balances is just 3 api requests, etc etc...

someone should spend some time writing a XCP stats site..... really showcase how under-valued the platform is... show value transacted through the platform each day (dispensers/dex)... show value held on platform (rare pepe cards market caps, etc).... showcase XCP burn rate, issuance rates.... all sorts of really helpful info burried in CP that no one is really able to easily see....

the "burn" was a specific period in time (in 2014) when you could "burn" BTC and in return get "XCP" back... the "burn" period ended years ago.... the only way to get XCP now is to purchase it from holders.

I recall convo that as the supply decreases, the spam fee could be adapted to allow the supply to continue working.
One day it might be 0.05 for a named and 0.025 for a subasset as an example -
but a new burn might be fun too

nope... we will never have another burn (at least, not if I have any say about it).... the longer-term plan to handle the XCP Burn rate has been to switch from a static fee model (0.5 = Named, 0.25 = Subasset) to a dynamic fee model which would adjust the amount of XCP required to do an issuance based on a number of factors (yet to be determined, but prolly a mix of logic taking into account total XCP remaining, total assets issued, rate at which assets are being issued, price of XCP, etc)..... but, TLDR is we should never run out of XCP... the cost of actions will just switch from static to dynamic fees

doing away with that in the next freewallet update... and implementing an auto-donation system (which can be turned off, or configured, etc).... need to come up with a way to secure consistent funding for dev without having to beg for donations and then stress when they dont flow in...... the auto-donation system will hopefully solve that issue and allow some consistent funds to flow into xchain and CP dev

Yo Jdog I got a technical question. If you theoretically setup a PC not connected to the internet (or blocked for all access) is there a way you could JUST allow free wallet to do tx's and connect to xchain/Blockchain ... And have the computer have no other "network" permissions other than just that -
Basically making an "offline" setup but allowing it only to communicate via tx's

spose you could configure your firewall to block all traffic except for requests to xchain.io and api.counterparty.io... those are the 2 endpoints necessary to use freewallet... xchain to load up current data (balances, etc) and api.counterparty.io to handle generating the unsigned transactions, which the wallet then signs and broadcasts using xchain

yes... the 12-word passphrase is entered into the wallet.. the wallet uses that to generate your seed and your addresses associated with those seeds... then it makes requests to xchain to lookup information for a specific address.... so, at no point is your wallet ever passing your 12-word passphrase off your computer... it never leaves your browser... only thing anyone would see externally is you checking balances for an address... just a normal request like this https://xchain.io/api/balances/1AR6E7KYmESbTaMkvztQ6Zn4T2PSA9WUv8

I have a free wallet/ xchain/cpunterparty question and am searchng for expert advice. I've asked so maany people in many gc aand telegram chanels. ive talked to robotcoffee, alfernandez, KANE, j-dog, and more but the problem still exist and i'm startig to wonder if it's messing with my interaction with dispensers now. So here is goes. So my freewallet is where the situation is. It all started one day when i was trying to buy xcp. I was sleep deprived and may have brain farted and tried to buy xcp on the DEX inside the freewallet app. This is what people who have looked into this have told me. Anyways ever since then, everytime I open my Freewallet I get this pop up window. -
People have told me too just let it expire. So i waited and It's been over a month. But window still pops up. Everyone says my wallet is safe and so I just put in my password eveerytime. and this is the window that follows.

I can still send BTC, create tokens and everything is fine except for one thing. I haven't been able to receive tokens from dispensers. I've done 5 trasactions for some xcp right after this happened and didn't get any xcp back. And today when I tried to get some PEPECASH from dispensers in get this error.
