In FW . In electrum it transfers all the btc to another addy . Not sure about whether that allows a fresh dispenser on there tho

Where did it go? & how can I make it reappear. I was creating dispensers for 2 different assets. I sent the assets & a little coin to grease the wheels. One wallet was a legacy wallet - that wallet shows up fine. The other was a bc / segwit wallet. That wallet first didnt take the tx ... I tried 3 times, then it finally worked. On xchain I can see the asset I sent & the coin, but it doesn't appear in my counterwallet, or on the FW phone app.

You don’t need to send the asset to the address to open a dispenser.
You can open a dispenser on any unspent address from your main address. -

Does it sound reasonable to say an address/seed with too many assets is what has caused CW to fail for me? I created a new seed and had no issues at all

it is a combination of the number of ddresses you have used and all the assets from those addresses... the more history your seed has, the longer CW takes to load... CW does some funky address loading (very different than Freewallet).... counterwallet takes first address then looks for any transactions... if it finds some, it moves on to next address... it keeps going until it hits an address with no history.... then, after it has the address list, it has to load all the assets from all the wallets at once... so basically your counterwallet is loading all your addresses and all your assets at once... which is a slowish

counterwallet is not ideal, as it relies on counterblock.... freewallet relies on xchain API and only loads/deals with one address at a time... so much less overhead, faster loading times, no custom component to query (just straight php code to mysql queries)

Hi @jdogresorg Freewallet on desktop and Freewallet (mobile) on iphone shows HTML (the image) when you place it in description of the token. I see it's been removed from xchain io. So not shown on a browser.
Will freewallet mobile keep that function? Asking because I'm putting asset json on chain and don't wanna add HTML in the descriptions if they'll be depricated in a later update. An example of HTML in Desc. is RARELANDS by @exmoorbeast (asset desc. shows in the app) Thanks. -
If you want to put additional info about your asset, do so using the cip25 format… yes, freewallet has a security hole that some ppl are using to stuff html into the description… that “feature” will be disabled in the next freewallet desktop version…. How you see things displayed on xchain is exactly how they will appear in freewallet

Another random question @jdogresorg for the .xcp extension, it it the wallet that holds the token that is the receiving address, or is it the wallet that issued the token?
For example, can I issue an xcp token and subasset on an address, send the token and the .xcp subasset to another address and it'll use the address it resides in, or is it the issuing address? -
It’s just asset ownership…. Nothing to do with token… type in asset name and it auto-converts to asset owner address

Almost always get that if the fee used is too low

with the mempool being stuff so full of scribblers these days, you need > 21 sats/byte to get things through... so you're looking at 0.0001 for most MPMAs... probably more if its a really big one.

Yeah, I suggest splitting that into three sets and definitely use 0.0001+ fee on those ones with the current mempool conditions. -
@rarepepetrader can you ELI5 multi send for me? I added all 303 addresses and set the fee (in freewallet desktop). I made the fee 0.0004 ($11.21 USD).
The first transaction confirmed immediately at 46.3 sat/vB
The second transaction though (the one that sends the tokens) is unconfirmed at 3.1 sat/vB
So both txs were sent at the fee that I input in freewallet.
How should I have calculated a higher fee for the token sends? -
That second one is the killer… you can try using Electrum to do a CPFP child pays for parent boost on that one

both are normal p2sh transactions which should show up

first tx creates a bunch of outputs and encodes the data into those outputs (destination, asset, amount, memo)... second tx spends those outputs and does the actual send tx

okay. I tried in freewallet and electrum and the second tx doesn't show up. It is a stuck transaction at 3 sat/vb. If I re-send at a higher fee will the other transaction eventually fail?

cant say for sure... depends on your address and how many utxos you have and if your spending utxos from those pending txs

usually doing another tx works to force the first one to confirm... but, depends on the utxos used and the fee paid and the size of the pending tx.... gut says your issues are due to too low of fee

If you have sufficient additional quantities of all of the same items to also cover the first transaction, they will eventually all send again if the big transaction is finally picked up.
That happened to me last year after a big send didn't go through after quite some time and I sent again in a new transaction. -

Yes @subterranean1 that could be the issue, if the second transaction was spending utxo's that were also still pending in the first transaction, then they might explain why the second tx didn't show up while the first one was still pending...
But once the first tx is cleared, any dependent utxos for the second might become available, and that second tx could become available as pending for a CPFP spend.
I don't know for sure, still figuring out what happens behind the scenes with these myself. -
@subterranean1 just watch out for this, if you have enough inventory of everything and that first one eventually gets confirmed, they'll all be sent again (per original send)

your using the wrong wallet bro... use freewallet.io... it is open-source and non-custodial (I dont have access to your funds at any point).... vs freewallet.org which is closed-source and custodial (they hold your money for you, and spend it when you request to spend it)

since it is a custodial wallet, you dont have access to the private keys... so, you'll need to reach out to the freewallet.org ppl and hope that they will handle sending it back to you... or signing a transaction from taht wallet for you 🙂

I have some questions regarding Ordinals, I asked ChatGPT about it, it referenced some similarities with Counterparty. From what I gathered it seems to work on the same concept. Is there a distinct difference or an advantage in making Ordinals or is this just a Counterparty Copy. It seems quite complicated to make one as well.

Counterparty is a distinct token asset data structure with its own database and messaging carried via OP_RETURN field, essentially a federated database system that piggy backs its transaction messaging on Bitcoin for permanent immutable proof of issuances and transactions. -
Ordinals is a system for serialising and numbering individual Satoshis on the Bitcoin network.
Inscription is the process of writing data sets into blocks using data storage defined for use by Segregated Witness. The data stored is tied to specific satoshis, thus making data sets tradeable by trading the "inscribed" satoshis. -

So is counterparty like a Layer 2 for Bitcoin when it come to immutable proof for transactions. It's not actually inscribing the NFT in the Bitcoin Blockchain. So when you say serializing and numbering Satoshis, Ordinals are more tied to the bitcoin network rather than just sending transaction messages to the BTC network. :) My mind is still processing your answer, but so far this what I think I understood. :) Thanks.

If your trying to create stamps.... can just do so using postman to create API requests to CP API... then can just sign raw transaction in freewallet.... i'm assuming your using counterwallet cuz you want to make a stamp... not cuz you enjoy the wallet 😛

next freewallet update will remove the 200 character limit on asset descriptions... so you can then just use freewallet to make stamps 🙂

still need to work on the json caching... currently, only time I parse asset json is when an issuance tx is done.... so, if you update your json after an issuance, it isn't being picked up/cached currently by xchain.... tho I DO make an external call to request the JSON directly from the source... so "SHOULD" display the most recent json data
