We should put the cost of development on the exchange.
-
That’s fine. Don’t need it ASAP.
-
-
Thanks man! I can’t give those out because I don’t work at that bar anymore. But I gave three to one of my 60+ year old customers a couple years ago..I had him install FreeWallet and he spent them. Pretty sure those were the first ever NFT drink tokens used in a bar.
-
Yes I will give you a Padre Pio once I figure out how many to print and lock
-
Nice, I see you’re in the shilling group, so when you’re ready you should do a giveaway in there. I still owe some tokens to folks, and I’ll include you in that round.
-
There's a shilling group?
-
👇👇
-
What is the cost of the listing again?
-
-
$18k
-
And I can shill my various wacky projects here?
-
as long as they are on xcp
-
not an admin tho... so when you join, ask an admin the rules
-
What about dogeparty 😅?
-
it may see the light of day again 🙂
-
sull
yo @jdogresorg boot up Dogeparty
-
Doge is pumping. It might be worth it in a weird way.
-
would be funny if in the end, dogeparty wound up getting popular again and bringing devs and funding back to CP... lol... life is sometimes strange like that 😛
-
-
-
technically not that difficult to spin up I think... just need to tweak the backend to talk to dogecoin instance instead of bitcoin (port change), and then tweaking counterparty-lib to support dogecoin addresses instead of bitcoin addresses.... parse in all the old burns and issuances, ready to go.... would also need block explorer and wallet (could run xchain fork and create freewallet-desktop fork pretty quick)..... so, it is feasible, just gotta an interested dev, and hammer out the launch/relaunch details.... hoping @shannoncode takes on the task 🙂
-
counterparty was created.... then dogeparty was forked off counterparty and ran on dogecoin for a year or so, then it died... so, it would just be reviving that platform.... XDP (Dogeparty) asset would live on Dogecoin, XCP (Counterparty) assets would live on bitcoin.
-
completely separate systems and blockchains... same thing that is happening with monaparty on monacoin... just a fork of counterparty with some tweaks 🙂
-
-
naww... its a good thing, separate asset registration system on a faster/cheaper blockchain... cool playground for people to get familiar with Counterparty system... would def see NFTs take off on it I think 😛
-
-
I only came to Counterparty through Dogeparty... I had never heard of Counterparty... I was into dogecoin in 2014... I burned abunch of dogecoin for XDP (Dogeparty) and registered a bunch of assets.... only like 6 months later did I discover Counterparty on Bitcoin.... and made the move to Counterparty
-
Same protocol, tweaked to use another blockchain.... tweaks and features added to other forks can make their way up to Counterparty, etc..
-
Same way that almost every altcoin is forked from bitcoin.... counterparty can fork to every blockchain if it wanted, just a matter of devs and explorers/wallets
-
to be clear, by "fork" I mean start up a new ledger on a different chain.... Counterparty (XCP) will always be on Bitcoin (BTC)
-
-
There has to be a way to escrow assets via CP and send them to dogeparty.
Doge is a perfect side chain for CP. I really love doge, was kind of sick looking at my purchases last night from a few years ago and not just riding this wave all the way up.
I’d support a revive of Dogeparty, even though I own none. Agree, can only help CP. -
-
-
Second that
-
Yes, a gateway is always possible... I'm just saying, the asset name systems are separate, so if someone has BACON on dogeparty, your not going to be able to port BACON over directly.... but could easily create a gateway token and issue subassets, etc..... on Counterparty simply escrow assets (BACON)... on Dogeparty, register GATEWAY and then issue subasset GATEWAY.BACON and give to user who ported BACON over
-
going back would be same process in reverse... send GATEWAY.BACON back to gateway on Dogeparty, on Counterparty just release the BACON token back to user
-
essentially "wrapping" counterparty assets
-
-
same thing that is happening on xcp-gateway.io
-
FYI.. just started pulling mempool fee info from mempool.space... you should now see much more accurate fee information displayed on xchain, as well as in freewallet.
-
-
-
😘
-
A great group
-
0222
-
I'm just creating a token and see the fee's are really high ($39) ... if I select "Cust" it's just $0.75... how long do you think I'll need to wait before I see my token is created?
-
I realise this is probably a seriously noob question but I'm trying to figure out how to create Certificates of Ownership for my physical bitcoin art
-
75 cents might never confirm given the current conditions. Check out mempool.space to get an idea of how much you’ll need to commit.
-
The good thing about bitcoin is you’ll get you money back if it doesn’t confirm
-
of course... sorry I forgot its bitcoin lol... damn I'm wanting to test stuff out and at $40 a pop its going to be expensive
-
ETH sucks up your gas then says sorry, try again, no refunds
-
If you’re not in a rush, it’s worth trying it out for $0.75
-
-
-
When bitcoin mempool gets very busy, counterparty stops updating the mempool with transactions... once a transaction is mined, then the transaction is seen on xchain... but since there are over 200K pending bitcoin transactions, things are big laggy
-
Is it possible to create a calculator to estimate how many bytes a transaction will be?
-
Will get better/actual fee estimation working in freewallet in future... right now uses average tx size not actual size as that would require extra call to cp api to generate tx.... will add in future
-
-
cheers Cornholio thank you for your help 👍
-
appreciated 👍
I just read up on CP basics today from this website
https://xcpdoc.bitra.re/
It's nicely laid out... I'll carry on reading through it tomorrow... I'm no developer so will probably skip chunks of Advanced and 100% of the Develop section 😁Hello from Counterparty | CounterpartyDescription will go into a meta tag in <head />
-
Nice I’ve never seen that website before
-
I believe it was made by @ffmad who is also working on a dope new website design 🙂
-
a friend of mine made it... Quentin... you may know him
-
yup 👍
-
It's a Dev version. When I have some time I will check to push it on GitHub pages
-
Very cool, looks great. Nice work.
-
-
-
Have you tried to withdraw? What did it say?
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
Very nice
-
I'm trying to recreate this:
https://xchain.io/asset/CULTOFKEK
It's got the 48px X 48px thumbnail that appears in FreeWallet and top left on xchain AND its got the full sized image as digital artwork in the "Enhanced Asset Information"
it's this larger file that I want to create as a Certificate of Ownership for my physical bitcoin art
How do I do it? is it best to use the json file?
mine is here:
http://hodlr.rocks/json/CHIEFMONKEY.TEST1.json -
-
Good to hear the technology is not difficult. But why doge? Wouldn't any ethereum coin work?
-
I already have CEO interested.
-
Counterparty can run on a bitcoind fork pretty easily, can't speak for integrating it into ETH blockchain, or why you would want to do that.
-
I thought doge was ETH
-
No, doge, like 95% of the coins out there, are a bitcoind fork with some tweaks
-
Hmmm
-
Litecoin is bitcoind fork with 2.5 minute blocks... dogecoin is bitcoind fork with 1 minute blocks, etc
-
-
-
Ok so what's the issue with doing it in ETH
-
Ethereum has their own smart contracts system, doesn't make sense to me to integrate the Counterparty system to write data to their bloackchain.... also, would be problematic as CP relies on being able to parse in the full history of a blockchain, something that is very difficult on ETH..... not sure why you would WANT to port anything to ETH either, even if it was just writing data to a blockchain, expensive.
-
Oh I thought CP took ethereum smart contract
-
So it just slightly different
-
No, Counterparty existed before Ethereum did bro
-
Entirely different.. but don't have time to hash out history here... you can read on your own 🙂
-
-
I knew I recognized your work from somewhere! I would have bought that satoshi and bull piece, but I don't think Tidwell did despite my sound advice.
-
-
This through me off

Wow you can port a ETH contract in here!!!!!

That's way better

Lol 😂 makes perfect sense.
So after I decode the entire Bitcoin blockchain searching for 434e545250525459,I store this data in my own server, synced and ready to go.
So when the mempool fills up, CP is basically having issues searching unconfirmed transactions fast enough. - 21 April 2021 (76 messages)

Hey All. Been a while out of the XCP scene.
-
What does a DEX transaction cost on counterparty these days?
-
Hey ACE, right now, since the hash power decline, probably $20. Last week, $2.
-
There is some other XCP tg group as well. Is that a legit community?
-
I don’t go over there much. 😆
-
I can see J Dog is still around 💪🏽
-
-
I used to be into XCP back in 2016
-
-
Problem with XCP was it was way ahead of its time.
-
I lost my wallets
-
-
Never had cards. Only deployed a token on there once.
-
-
I wanted to use it back in the day to trade securities.
-
I have 100’s I want to use for securities. 😆
-
What about NFTs?
-
Couldn't xcp be used to build an nft platform like rarible?
-
-
Are there still projects being built with xcp?
-
Like the DEX
-
And also why isn't there many exchange listings?
-
XCP is a crypto veteran
-
It kind of makes me sad
-
-
Does CP have a entity like a foundation?
-
-
Nice.
-
Yes. But it’s not public yet.
-
Can the foundation raise some money and start getting xcp listed on some major exchanges again?
-
-
Cool. I'll donate something.
-
-
-
Yes. Vaguely i remember.
-
They weren’t out in 2016. They are virtual vending machines where you can sell or buy tokens for btc. Unlimited sells by sellers with no tx fee besides disperser setup. https://www.xprotectx.com/post/bitcoin-dispensers-on-counterparty
-
Is there still a smartphone app?
-
-
I remember some vending machine
-
-
Yeah!
-
J Dog rules
-
-
This is sweet as
-
Are there many experienced developers for hire in CP?
-
Like if I want to build say an NFT platform like Rarible.
-
The other thing that might be cool is having a bridge for xcp to other chains. Then get the bridged token listed on Uniswap, Pancakeswap, etc.
-
I think if more liquidity can be built doing bridged dex listings, then CEX support will be easier too.
-
Also for a CEX it would be easier for them to integrate a BEP20 or ERC20.
-
Then once volume builds, hit them up to integrate CP fully
-
Yeah I reckon setup a 2-way bridge to HECO, ETH, BSC.
-
Then list on MDEX, Uniswap and Pancakeswap.
-
From there hit up Huobi, Binance, etc.
-
I believe the same.
-
please teqll me why this error was occured like " json.decoder.JSONDecodeError: Expecting value: line 1 column 1 (char 0) " ?
-
if you know how to fix it , tell me .......
-
You can bridge into erc20 land using coval, and waves has a xcp bridge as well.
-
-
FYI... chatted with dex-trade this AM... they got their fednode setup and did a couple test transactions to verify all is working... You can verify this at the url below... you can see they did a test send from themselves to themselvse for XCP and PEPECASH.... I think they FINALLY get that Counterparty runs on Bitcoin and that they will have to adjust the fees up/down to make sure transactions get processed quickly..... I expect that the withdraw fees will rise a bit to cover their costs in this time when bitcoin mempool is crazy busy with over 200K transactions... anyway, point is, withdraws should be working again soon, and this time they should get processed with a sane fee, not one that takes 3+ weeks to confirm 🙂

-
Can anyone help me with this 👆 or point me in the right direction... I want to create tokens as Certifucates of Ownership for physical art... but want them to look as good as this cultofkek Pepe I’ve linked here 👆
-
@jdogresorg
-
Once you verify an address on coindaddy.io, you can update any asset icons that the address owns for free.... I suggest you do that for the 48x48 asset icon... then to get the image artwork to automatically display, upload the image to imgur and then use the imgur/IMAGENAME.png;ARTWORK_TITLE format... like this https://xchain.io/asset/THEOS.LOT2
-
The CULTOFKEK card is a rare pepe card, so I have specifically updated xchain to display cards from specific projects a bit differently... the closest you can get is to use the imgur format in the asset description, as that then the image will be automatially loaded and displayed on xchain.io
-
Amazing J-Dog... I’ll have a play with that 👍 thank you

helo

of course

Any news soon
-
well, i don't know what you don't know
-
it's updated regularly, we used to be without exchange, but now we're listed again and getting more of them
-
interest in counterparty nfts have increased a birt
-
Is there other projects similar to xcp
-
i don't know
-
i don't think so, in the way xcp uses bitcoin
-
Interesting
-
there is omni protocol which is pretty much the same
- 23 April 2021 (13 messages)

Not really. Omni is colored coins.

So... ALL the FoW cards in a single Lot, 160 card MegaLot
-
*** SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT ***
Featuring for the first time at Roaring Auctions...
FoW - Force of Will - The Complete Set of 160 cards.
One of three COMPLETE SETS of the Force of Will TCG Counterparty NFTs in the wild.
Two of these three sets are 4+ years inactive. The one chance to get the whole scoop. Many cards were playable in Spells of Genesis as well!
These Cards were officially dispensed in 2016 by Everdream Software in an official partnership with www.fowtcg.com to facilitate on-chain play of the game.
Sadly those plans were scrapped before the game was released online.
Each card has an Issuance of 1000.
500 of each card have been burned, reducing the issuance to 1/500 each.
There are about 30 to 40 cards each in circulation at most (not subtracting wallets that haven't moved in years and might be completely lost, which would put the number much much lower). -
Lot listing page will be up soon...
-
But is it still active?
-
I thought everyone knew all this stuff?

Auction: Legendary crypto collectible series: Satoshicard (Spells of Genesis Counterparty token)
This is a Spells of Genesis(SoG) game asset as well as a legendary crypto art/collectible issued on Counterparty. SoG is the first notable game to tokenize game items on blockchain and pioneered the crypto art and collectibles well before the concept is more widely recognized as NFT and as such. https://spellsofgenesis.com No need to explain Satoshicard to the SoG fans. One of the earliest and most rare and famous SoG cards. Limited supply of 200. (800 was burned after creation) Satoshicard info on a Counterparty explorer. https://xchain.io/asset/SATOSHICARD Paddle is a Lightning Network auction service and let you bid with a Lightning payment. You bid with 1% of your desired price with Lightning Network payment and once you're overbid, the deposit will automatically be refunded to your wallet. So if your bidding price is 1,000,000 satoshis, you deposit only 10,000 satoshis on Lightning. (If you are not sure how to make a payment with Lightning, the easiest way to start is to use custodial Lightning…

Hi everybody
-
-
-
-
Yeah, I really wanted one, but I didn’t want to steal both 🤝
-
-
-
Yup, and maybe my third favorite behind the Genesiscard and Satoshicard
-
-
-
Never seen this one. Hate the game, not the player 😆
-
I’ve learned my lesson. A couple years ago, someone had a RAREPEPE and a TRUMPRARE going up for sale at 60 and 10xcp. I got outbid at 61 and fee sniped on the trump. It took me a while to figure what even happened.
-
I’ve been trying, but I think I will run out of money 😆
-
A higher price on DEX gets priority? So if I have a bid for 15 and you have a bid for 16, it defaults to 16?
-
Yeah, so you had your order up that someone was filling. I frontrun their order with a higher fee and tacked an extra 0.00000069 XCP to the 15. The seller gets the extra XCP.
-
About a month ago, I got into a bidding war for a genesiscard that was going to fill a 50 XCP buy order(I think yours). It went up to 100. A bunch of blocks were found all at once, and I missed out on putting in a higher bid. In the process, I accidentally opened 2 orders at 72, which were later filled magically.
-
-
Yes, older orders do get priority
-
Cool, thanks for explaining
-
-
-
Sad to see people asking for help in that channel and being ignored... but, any attempt to point them to this room and actual support and answers to their questions results in a kickban by Emperor Trevor.
-
Damn, I guess I got banned from there at some point. I don’t even remember.

Is it possible to create a Sub Asset, put some details into it, and lock it.... then give it away (or sell it)... the receiver can not change the details and the Main Asset stays with me?
Hope this makes sense -
yes, that's how it functions normally
-
appreciated... thank you mate 👍
-
Another noob question
I transfered some btc to my FreeWallet... took 10 minutes an hour ago... I tried to create a sub asset (in freewallet) but it still hasn't appeared an hour later... if it is not bitcoin holding things up, what is holding up counterparty?
Is it the number of federated nodes? and will more federated nodes help to speed up, or better, the platform? -
if it's not visible on xchain.io as unconfirmed, check another block explorer (like blockstream). it doesn't understand its xcp part, but it shows it exists, and the tx fee
-
if a lot of nodes drop your unconfirmed tx, you can use a transaction booster (bitaccelerate.com) when it's starting to get plausible that it can be confirmed
-
number of federated nodes is more helpful for distributing bandwidth load, and decentralization, if understand correctly
-
once, my freewallet didn't see my unconfirmed tx, but rarepepewallet did
-
thank you again
Yeah I created it in FreeWallet but I can't see where the TXID is so I don't know a way way of finding it in a block explorer -
ok
-
it will probably show up
-
I just checked RarePepeWallet but I get the sense it only shows pepe's (and why not lol)
Not showing any of my latest tokens that I've created myself in FreeWallet -
Just wondering if more Federated nodes helps to clear up things like this
-
Found the problem I think... my btc went into freewallet right away because I paid $12 tx fee
but When I created the sub asset in FreeWallet (minutes later) I think it only charged $1.87... according to mempool.space
So basically I'm at the back of the queue
I've checked bitaccelerate .com but it's not in their database
Is this subasset tx now in limbo? -
do you have the tx hash?
-
0dd815d7e3098a0e098dc2f81c63c5d10aebd5b2f5c42a0ebcc665359a25956a
-
found it on sochain.com
-
Multi-Currency Block Explorer and API
Multi-Currency API for Developers
-
So looking at that page... if I click on Other Infor > Raw Data... I can see at the bottom of the code the tx_hex
If I put the hex into https://bitaccelerate.com/pushtx/ that will get the ball rolling and I will then be able to give it a boost with BitAccelerate ? -
👆 does that make sense... sorry to bother you with so many q's
-
i haven't tried that, but it makes sense
-
I've just tried to create another sub asset with FreeWallet but with a slightly different name but with $14'ish just to see if I can push it through
Then according to BlockCypher I've done a
"DOUBLE SPEND ATTEMPT! "
very frustrating...
BUT minutes later... the second transaction, with the slightly different name, has gone through.... I see the sub asset in my FreeWallet
Is that the solution then... to force through a low fee transaction, put in a second transaction with a load of $ and force it through
You pay to play? -
I celebrated too soon... blockcypher now says I've double spent 😭
-
Is there a Replace By Fee tool in FreeWallet?
Again forgive me for asking noob questions... I've read Electrum Multi Send and that is used to Replace By Fee... is this the same in FreeWallet? -
is see it has MultiSend
-
Multisend is a different function
-
don't worry about asking to many questions
-
iirc, counterparty doesn't support replace by fee
-
🙏
-
i checked this one again:
-
it's like 3 sats/ vbyte
-
right?
-
So right now my FreeWallet is kind of locked up... how to I shift the transaction that is now being seen as a Double Spend?
-
it's better to just ignore it, it might take 6 months for it to go through
-
lol
-
if you made another one that's identical but higher fee, i don't know
-
But has that rendered the FreeWallet useless to me?
-
not identical

think we might need jdog for this one

its simple... you sent a tx with a low fee.... way to force that tx to confirm or expire is to export your private key from freewallet and import it into electrum... then send all your BTC from yourself back to yourself.... it will either 1.) force your pending tx to confirm... or 2.) Force your pending tx to expire..... in any case, your "pending transaction" issue can be fixed.... in the future, pay a high fee on issuance transactions..... you can avoid all these "where is my tx, why is my tx doing XYZ" issues if you just pay a proper fee the first time
-
90% of the issues here are people who pay low fees then complain about the transaction not being confirmed and freaking out..... best to pay a high fee on transactions you want processed quickly and avoid all the headaches
-
if you pay a low fee and your tx is stuck... you can export private key, import into electrum, and send all your BTC from yourself to yourself with a high fee... should force tx to confirm or expire
-
all the advice I have for you on this issue... no desire to discuss it further 🙂
-
no need to discuss further
main thing I wanted to highlight was that it was FreeWallet that recommended the TX fee $1.80 for the High Priority
I checked by using the drop down and checking Medium and Low and they were all $1.x
I do apologise for the spam though 🙏 -
no worries... yes, the high/low fee is based on the average send size... not the actual transaction size (something I will fix in future version of freewallet)... so, for issuances want to prolly double or tripple the suggested fee since the transaction is a bit larger than other transactions (has to encode more data like asset description, name, etc into the transaction)
-
Better fee estimates in freewallet will solve most of these issues... just a matter of finding the time to write the update 🙂
-
OK cool... I'm happy to chuck extra on to any transaction... I've never chosen a "low fee" to date... I'm not a millenial but I do want everything ASAP immediately
-
we really should have that meeting 😉

You've created a child pays for parent transaction, so your $35 fee is pulling the $1 transaction along with it. This brings your effective fee rate from 353 down to 53 sats/vB.
-
It's currently ~150 sat/vB to get into a block, but it should make it into a block by this weekend, probably tonight even
-
It does show that Replace by Fee is enabled, so I assume you imported this wallet from one had that enabled.
-
thank you for your time Cornholio 🙏 yes I imported the seed from freewallet to Electrum
I then tried to send all the BTC to myself, but somehow cocked that up... Electrum use to be really straight forward to use
Honestly the UX now has gone down hill
I did a bunch of stuff (hard to remember now) and I am left with
txid
1e7313de9a0a54a89a82a9fc2c4dbb77b385545c7e3ca1c40825f0be1ed13ede
Which isn't in the Electrum History but I copied it down and is a RBF tx (I think) that I sent with $34 tx fee to shift things along
And I have
2c3a9b24861c8e60c6b84996d6d15cd03be7d6d0c2c74c22dec73bf4dd69d33e
which is left over from 5 hours ago from my FreeWallet... that has now disappeared from mempool.space but can be seen in blockstream.info and blockcypher

So where do I go from here?
-
-
do I try and send everything to myself again?
-
It was close to confirming about 30 minutes ago. You need to cross your fingers that 2 or 3 blocks are found in a short span. It could make it into next block if it's found within a few minutes.
-
I've got everything crossed and I'm going blue 👍

I saw the unconfirmed transaction on xchain ;)
-
😂 of course 👍
I'm trying to attach it to the clockchain and want a unique piece of information from the sub asset token... hence all this pain lol -
Clockchain is maybe a more fitting name than blockchain since the timestamp is of such importance.
-
Can we shut off cornholios unconfirmed transactions view on xchain
-
I once had a chat with Stuart Haber and he told me it was basically a massive time stamping machine they had invented

No, xcp assets don’t move between wallets until confirmed

Block 681,272 was just found, which fittingly took 43 minutes from the previous block. The difficulty adjustment of -14.73% should happen now, so blocks should be rolling in relatively fast.
-
Wait, I'm off

681,408 is the readjustment
