you can upload your mp4 to a site like youtube and then just reference the video like in this asset
-
-
the format for the description is 'youtube/video_code;video_title'
-
also can do audio via soundclouse like in this asset https://xchain.io/asset/BACKINBLOOD
-
the format for description is 'soundcloud/soundcloud_code;track_name'
-
Wow that's coo
-
Thank you
-
How about gifs?
-
gifs work as well... upload to imgur... asset description format is 'imgur/image_name.jpg;image_title'
-
replace image_name.jpg with the actual name of the image on imgur
-
-
there is a gif I minted yesterday :)
-
Is 21mb ok?
-
Are you using freeport to mint these?
-
21 MB is a big big for a gif... but up to you... i'm not hosting the file on xchain.io, so wont be effecting my bandwidth.. will just effect the loading time of the image on xchain as each user has to download 21 megs
-
nope, I minted in freewallet.io.... freeport has a slicker interface for minting image NFTs... but I just use freewallet.io desktop wallet and change the asset description to what I know will work when minting the asset
-
Is there a good guide on how to issue assets on freewallet?
-
no guide needed.... just go main menu->create token.. then fill out the form
-
-
if you have a question about a field, hover your mouse over the questionmark icon for more info what that that field is
-
i need more xcp , where can i buy it?
-
Dispensers, dex-trade, or otc
-
ok , thank you
-
I just found out about dispensers and they are awesome. Fully automated and you get your xcp within one confirmation. Just make sure you double-check the listed rate and use a high-priority btc fee (at least $0.80)
-
Pretty much a uniswap/1inch on Bitcoin since 2014 😎
-
Dispensers we’re added to the platform 2 years ago … glad u like them 😀👍🏻
-
-
You can transfer asset ownership which is the ability to issue additional supply (if not locked), change asset description, pay out dividends, and issue subassets…. All rights reside with asset owner…. Can’t transfer just some of the rights
-
ok, so how do we identify the original issuer despite their rights to the asset
-
I guess as per this example it is the 'Source' address
-
-
-
-
You can check the issuance history for an asset to see who created it, issued supply, locked it, and transferred rights away
-
Correct
-
Newb question: is there an advantage of listing an NFT on xcp and wrapping it on opensea rather than listing it on opensea directly ? (I don't have much experience with either platform)
-
NFTs on counterparty live on bitcoin, the strongest chain.
-
👍
-
Hi folks, currently research early DAOs and stumbled upon https://xchain.io/asset/WOODSHARES. Anyone know more about the project? Was it a scam or did it fail for another reason?
-
*researching
-
hmm. we are looking at our database and don't seem to have a source address. we have owner and issuer. How do you find the source address on xchain?
-
-
Ppl create more and more assets on XCP lately
-
With this rate xcp supply gonna run out soon
-
It’ll never run out cuz we can adjust burn rates down or ideally have them be dynamic rates
-
Just look at owner history
-
The xco supply on xchain is correct or its just initial supply?
-
It is correct
-
Nice
-
makes sense
-
Wow, fascinating. Appears to be the first instance of a DAO (although they call it a DCO - Decentralized Collaborative Organization) built on Counterparty with a token that was collateralized by commercial timberland. Woodshare token holders could participate in the direction of the DCO. Started in 2015! Fascinating.
-
Any chance we could have btc dispensers too? Pay with xcp, get btc
-
Not sure how hard it would be to implement but it would be great
-
Yep, I will probably write a small article about it 👍
-
Lots of history on these OG chains
-
Yes plan to add that feature in 2032
-
Haha okay i understand there are more urgent things in the pipe
-
Hi guys
-
I got question about dispensers
-
Is this the right place to ask?
-
Yes, go ahead
-
I was planning on setting up multiple tokens on one address, however if I understood it correctly. If I withdraw too much btc from that address, they will dispense, meaning that they will return back to wallet and I need to set up dispensers again?
-
or better to set up separate dispenser on separate address for each token?
-
I think the problem is mostly that if you send BTC *to* that address, it will be like buying from your own dispenser.
Still the safer way is, for each dispenser, to use a separate completely fresh address. -
Coindaddy also has to pay 0.5 XCP to create a (named) asset to I doubt it’s cheaper
-
*so
-
gotchya :)
-
thanks
-
pm
-
Greetings one and all. In the new and Fangtastic FreeWallet how do we add a Market please? (im looking in the BTC market and want to add a token) Many thanks.
-
Add a Market, within a market. (should of made it more clear)
-
Are you selling it?
-
Both.
-
👍
-
-
add a market simply adds a market to the watchlist and then all market pairs for that market show up
-
if you want to actually add a market PAIR, you have to 1.) navigate directly to the market via searching like asset1/asset2 in the search box and then click the green search button... that will take you directly to the MARKET PAIR page 3.) place a selll order 4.) place a buy order.... 5.) once an actual trade happens on a market pair, THEN it will appear in the market pair lists
-
-
Hi J.Dog will check that out now, thank you. PS. Nice updates on the wallet, keep up the good work.
-
aaha ok. So a person cant add a market Pair, if it does not exist?
-
i can see 71 BTC pairs, id like another added. i thought it might be possible for a "user" to do this, but maybe it can only be done from XCP side?
-
correct... market pairs only turn up in the list if an actual trade has occured... hence the need to manually navigate to that market via the searchbox and then creating buy and sell orders that match one another so an actual trade occurs 🙂
-
better off using XCP market pair than a BTC market pair
-
using BTC on the dex is a bit more complicated and not many people use it
-
stick with XCP... its a fire-n-forget style order
-
Yeah, i do see there is a XCP pair for the asset in question. Problem is its quite hard to sell the XCP. Would be great to see Counterparty back on Bittrex at least. 🙏🏻
-
you can sell XCP on dex-trade.com or directly in dispensers... so going from XCP to BTC is pretty easy IMO
-
Great, i do see the Dispenser, actually used it today to buy some XCP . Do you really have to use high fee setting? i paid 0.00648 BTC for 10 XCP. i recall extra fees for transaction were around $50. About 20% of transaction cost.
-
you should pay a high fee whenever you buy from a dispensers to ensure your payment makes it there fast and before the dispenser gets emptied out.... its first come first serve, so always rush a payment to a dispenser with a high fee to have the best chance at getting it
-
aaaahh, ok thank you for clearing that up, in this case i could of happily waited. Thanks J.Dog. All the best 👍🏻
-
Hmm i successfully created a dispenser yesterday but when creating another one today freewallet gets stuck at the "signing counterparty transaction" step. Any idea why?
-
signing message issue is cuz your switching 12-word passphrases back and forth a bunch
-
wallet is not meant for that
-
wallet is meant for you to use ONE 12-word passphrase and then generate all your addresses in it
-
logout entirely, close freewallet, reopen it back up, enter your 12-word passphrase then try again
-
you will continue to hafve issues if you keep switching passphrases a bunch... use ONE 12-word passphrase and then just generate all your addresses in that wallet
-
Think you own an asset Im interested in buying.
-
cool.. make an offer via DMs or via coindaddy.io and i'll respond when I have time
-
-
seems like super high fee man, you can do for a few bucks tops
-
In free wallet are titles generated based on the imgurl description?
-
like if i want the title of my asset to be "First Edition Animatronic Rhino Fucking (Series 1, Card 1)" how do i make that happen
-
i dont see a simple title field
-
Nope i havent been switching passphrases, ive.only been using one all along
-
But things just got worse in the meantime: after logging out and back into the wallet i can no longer see the bc1 address that has the funds. I still see another address of mine so it cannot be a wrong passphrase mistake. No idea whats going on but this is a little stressful. Are there any known critical bugs?
-
It seems to me that my list of addresses (derived by freewallet from my passphrase) was somehow much longer this morning and is shorter now
-
Trying to understand (as a part-time developer) what could be going on
-
by default freewallet only generates the first 10 legacy addresses and the first 10 segwit addresses... you can add the missing segwit addresses to your freewallet by going to the "Change Address" screen and clicking the "Add New segwit Address" option, which will add addresses to your wallet one by one.... all the addresses are indexed (loaded in order), so the segwit address in question should appear 🙂
-
strange. only heard of the signing issue related to people switching passphrases a bunch and the address index getting corrupted (address index points the address to a specific private key in the wallet used to sign transactions)
-
resetting your wallet should rebuild the address index to resolve any address index issues
-
adding more segwit addresses to your wallet should restore any addresses you had previously used
-
freewallet isn't NFT specific... there is no place to enter "title"... you simply change the asset description to a format where you can specify the image url and the image title
-
scroll up.. its been described in her a few times, including yesterday
-
actually, looking back at history, I explained it to you yesterday... review conversation from yesterday
-
gifs work as well... upload to imgur... asset description format is 'imgur/image_name.jpg;image_title'
-
replace "image_title" with the First Edition Animatronic Rhino Fucking (Series 1, Card 1) text
-
Hmmm I just tried to manually add more than 50 segwit addresses as suggested but can't find mine (bc1qcycdnxymfnppzmqqnvxv8smuml097cedpv0sew)
-
Could it be because i tried to be clever and create a dispenser on a segwit address? Also i do remember that I did not choose the first segwit address in the dropdown list, but one from the bottom of the list...
-
Ill keep trying to generate more manually and see if i can retrieve it
-
the same 12-word passphrase should access all the same addresses.. both legacy (ones that start with 1) and segwit (ones that start with bc1).... if you have not used any other 12-word passphrases at all, then the ONLY way that a segwit address could have been added to freewallet is via the 12-word passphrase... so it should be showing up
-
(A little script would probably be helpful there 😆)
-
if you used a segwit address from the bottom and didn't add any additional segwit addresses previously, then the address your looking for should be segwit address #10
-
it being "much longer this am" leads me to believe that perhaps you had used another 12-word passphrase in the wallet previously and that perhaps that segwit address your looking for is from that other 12-word passphrase
-
segwit addresses don't just appear/disappear from the wallet... all wallet addresses derived from the 12-word passphrase are indexed (in order), so if it was there before and you HAVE NOT used any other 12-word passphrase in the wallet previously, then all the segwit addresses should be there
-
not sure what help I can give you beyond that
-
I'm going out for a walk, cool down a bit and will try again later... thanks a lot for your suggestions and great work
-
Yes thats why i was asking about description in the url being the way. I wasnt sure if that was the same thing. Sorry if im asking the same questions twice - im not meaning to
-
no worries.. we really need some FAQs that answer these quetsions more clearly than me doing so in chat quickly 🙂
-
will focus on writing some up soon
-
just not enough hours in the day for all I need to work on unfortunately
-
-
click on dispensers tab again
-
or click to exchange then click back to dispensers tab (if your talking about freewallet)
-
I think I tried all I could think of without success. And I still have no idea what could have happened and the financial impact is quite important to me. Perhaps a suggestion to help protect users against this type of incident (whether due to a bug or human mistake): in the dropdown list, consider adding an icon to clearly indicate which addresses have a private key derived from the user's passphrase and which ones don't
-
Also as a last recovery attempt, would it be easy to write a little script for me to run in the app's debug console that would autogenerate a few hundreds of segwit addresses from the current 12-word passphrase?
-
Man just saw this and sorry if u tried this but from what im reading your fine
-
-
-
Yes i did try this as per jdog's advice. I was hopeful it would resolve the issue but it didn't
-
there is no need to auto-generate hundreds of segwit addresses.. the only way segwit addresses are populated into freewallet is via the 12-word passphrase, and as I have explained they are indexed, so your address should be there... perhaps you copied and pasted the address and you have some malware on your computer which switched the address or something else. I cannot help you any more than to say that if you were just using the 12-word passphrase, then it will access all the exact same segwit addresses.
-
We could probably make a pull request for an FAQ that at least answers our questions
-
Then you could crowdsource the rest
-
Maybe this brings you closer to a solution: I normally have my freewallet on my PC, but had to install it on my laptop a few weeks ago. Fresh install and same 12 word seed and I had a second set of addresses also labeled #1-#10 there additional to my addresses I used in my PC before (which also were labeled #1-#10 on the laptop).
-
Yes, yesterday I noticed the same thing in freewallet (duplicate label names within the address list, just as you described) and thought it was weird. Should have paid more attention to that obviously.
-
I ve just run some checks to be sure: no traces of any malware on my machine
-
BTW I will donate some xcp to the devs whether I recover the funds or not, as a sign of appreciation for all the hard work
-
that typically only happens when people are switching between seeds and the wallet address list is not fully cleared out
-
Not in my case, I never had fw installed on that laptop and only entered this one seed.
-
This was an honest project but didn't yet come to fruition/pivoted from the original idea. They had a discord that seems to have been inactive for some time. Project leads are in Colombia, they are not anonymous scammers. There were issues with proving land ownership for the parcels they were trying to acquire {this is a common problem in Latinamerica}

Is xchain having problems? Not seeing wallets update
-
Yeah me also feel there is some issue because orders aren’t being updated
-
issue is fixed (was a sql query value quoting problem which stopped counterparty2mysql from parsing blocks)... blocks are being parsed and xchain.io should be caught up in the next 15-20 minutes
-
Awesome, thx jdog
-
a bit drunk.... but still able to debug code 😛
-
-
I also dm'd you ser, unrelated
-
Hi, I got a question. After I created a token, how do I attach the artwork to it?
-
Beware scammers
-
-
yes - but if someone else send the remaining amount and gets there first
-
best to send slightly over and higher fee to go faster
-
Slightly over the dispenser amount?
-
dont want the fee price for the transaction to go under the dispensor amount or it wont trigger
-
no
-
if dispensor was 0.1 bitcoin you sent 0.12 but the fee was 0.021 - then it would drop under the 0.1 dispensor and not trigger it
-
dont have to its upto you - just some advice
-
yes it does
-
if you get the transfer fee right
-
if you cock that up - the fee will take it from the amount you sent
-
and the dispensor WONT get the exact amount
-
this is just advice - take it or dont take it - Im not the dispenser owner
-
I changed description for an asset to try and have an imgur link. But now it shows : owner = null : Issuer = null : and supply went from 1 -100,000,000
-
Asset name is CATSNLIQUORS I cant add a screenshot here
-
This asset name does not exist.
-
-
I must have changed supply to 0
-
its in my wallet supply = 100,000,000
-
-
thanks - i just successfully created an asset and linked to a youtube video
-
-
i "lost" my catsnliquors token because i fucked up using an imgur link ... i tried adding a gif- but imgur made it an mp4
-
-
i have transaction hash for the catsnliquors 3 months ago
-
-
anyway to change that?
-
-
-
is the transactrion hash for the creation useful?
-
if i right click and try to change supply in freewallet:it says catsnliquors is registered to address null
-
ok weird- now that asset name is available to register again...
-
Im not that caring about the name- it was test for first asset- just interested how I messed this up so much?
-
-
i did..so its not that
-
i issued the asset 3 months ago
-
i tried changing the description 8 days ago- and then- "maybe" i overlooked a supply field? dont know
-
-
..so if i added wallet address when I was changing description (and i made an error) then this would explain?

Hi, I have XCP in my counterwallet, could someone tell me what exchanges I could use to sell them please?
-
-
-
So, can I simply send my XCP from my counterwallet to Dex-Trade? Thanks
-
question maybe for @jdogresorg to answer
how does order matching work on the dex?
scenario1
A buys PEPE1 for 1000
B sees that and sells PEPE1 for 500 with high fee
what's the price?
scenario2
A sells PEPE3 for 1000
B sees that and buys PEPE3 for 2000 with high fee
what's the price? -
I know in scenario 2, the overpayment from the buyer goes to the seller.
In scenario 1, I guess the idea is to front run a buy order on an existing sell order, with the idea that even though you undercut it by 50%, you'll still get the full amount paid by the new buyer... interesting. I'm not 100% sure -
We don't have a good mempool to test it out right now
-
there is no option to receive xcp
-
You can use testnet…. Testnet.xchain.io and switch to testnet in settings screen in freewallet
-
I love blockchain archaeology, maybe that’s one of the best parts of looking into our rare pepes
-
DM sir and will make it happen! I have about 75 left but going quickly
-
How does one get testnet BTC or XCP?
-
mq1esA5ruEZiEhy81j7aNnFiytyv9t2RKw
-
You asked now to sell XCP, that is the question I answered. If you want to buy/receive then place a buy order on the Dex-Trade or sell some other asset for XCP on the DEX
-
Testnet faucets…. Google it😀👍🏻

What’s the story behind the BACKINBLOOD asset? Love that song - I didn’t know Soundcloud links could be ‘attached’ to tokens!

Hey frenz. how to create dispenser of a custom asset? like audio?
-
It’s just an asset I threw together to showcase that xchain.io supports SoundCloud audio
-
correct if wrong, Custom asset = Name/Link to file(wherever hosted)
-
I love all those satoshicard dispensers 9 in total. 13 mins ago. 🤣
-
just like monero :)
-
Is there anywhere eg in the XCP website where I can read about the economics of this in-depth?
-
HELP Please everyone. I have just logged into my counterparty wallet and my main address has somehow VANISHED 😐
-
Is this true?

How the hell is this even possible?
-
did you use seed phrase or private keys ?

which wallet ?
-
Wut?
-
Seems i need to "Reset Wallet" anyone here have any idea how to do this please?
-
Ok. Fixed. Had to remvoe every trace of freewallet from my computer and then make fresh install and its back to normal. but i now will live one year less. 😃
-
-
what is the error message? as i have just downloaded the new version now and it ran straight away.
-
*windows
-
-
-
I had an issue when I updated to .19 yesterday. It would just come up black
-
Tried a restart, then just reverted back to previous version because I needed to send something
-
question, i setup a dispenser for testing purpose, now i have some BTC on this dispenser address, when i try to send funds from dispenser (normal btc address), to my normal main wallet, i get an error message that there is not enough BTC, i did the math correctly while leaving enough for the transaction fee, still getting the error message about funds not enough (its not only dust on this dispenser addy)
-
-
-
-
the only other suggestion i have, would be to use the "website" to log into wallet.
-
Apple OS?
-
aah, windows user here. The only Apple i like are green and red.
-
-
windows the same, wont run program as its unverified or something like that, have to click "more info" (more details) and then you can see, allow anyway (something like that).
-
No windows.

Any Electrum wallet experts here that could answer a couple questions for me?
-
Sure, what's up?
-
Nope… just a plan from the founders statements that we will eventually move to dynamic fees so supply never runs out…. Maybe in 2022 or 2023
-
I made a script for sending xcp tokens from Electrum, if that's what you need
-
Hi all, what is the best way to sel my bitcrystals for bitcoin?

Any admin available?

Logout of freewallet entirely, close the wallet, then open it and re-enter your 13-word passphrase….. and only use one 12-word passphrase with freewallet…. Don’t keep switching between passphrases

jdog, yesterday i try sweep some xcp in cw pay fee with my key and it doesnt work. maybe i can construct tx by hand use few inputs with xcp and one with btc to fee. can i do it? where i can learn how to construct opreturn payload
-
I’ve been getting the vertical line issue on xchain for many days. Are there any suggestions on what I can do to fix this?
-
how do i connect my casa tookan wallet for sell SoG Cards?
-
Sell via DEX or which venue?
-
Use freewallet, insert your mnemonic to access your cards. Then I would create an emblem.vault on polygon using your metamask, send the card from your address to the vault and list the card(in the vault) on opensea
-
If you know some JS you can check out my electrum script https://github.com/Jpja/Electrum-CounterpartyGitHub - Jpja/Electrum-Counterparty: Generate OP_RETURN for sending Counterparty tokens from Electrum

"Don’t keep switching between passphrases" (in Freewallet only? or does this also count for the web wallet?)
-
Fuck me. Assuming this was just a mistake by the seller and not a scam, please get in touch. https://xchain.io/tx/b8ca72129d9a7f4b06dbebcc119cf35ada628e2d0370e928b43b10d7a246ef23

how ?
-
-
I thought it said 1 xcp not 0.01
-
yeah your right - thats a rip off
-
-
i fucked up
-
hes got 0.01 - 0.00045
-
Great way to start a Monday!
-
People are such assholes. Imaging waking up everyday and your goal is to scam someone. What a life.
-
The wallet’s selling fake pepes too
-
Yeah... really my fault. Should have caught the 0.01 instead of 1. Early morning getting kids ready for school. Was distracted.
-
-
yeah, really crummy.
-
Yes, it's sad ... I got into this shit too)
Buying 100 times more expensive than market XCP price, the scammer adds fake PEPEs (multiple dispensers at the same address).
I just thought ... If he sells all the fake Pepe in this way, then these cards will have their own rarity, backed up by sadness, tears and the pain of a thoughtless purchase at a price 100 times more expensive than the market. 😃 -
lol, I did get some fake rares in that txn. Kind of want to send them away so I don't have to look at them and be reminded
-
I transferred them to my other wallet too, so as not to look at them now ))
-
Sounds interesting. But now I cannot get to the site due to some error ...
-
Any way to prevent the scammer from cashing out the coins ? Report the address to exchanges for blacklisting maybe?
-
Doubt it.
-
There’s also nothing “illegal” that happened.
-
He priced it 100x the market value and I fell for it
-
Still a scumbag move
-
Horrible person
-
this issue should be fixed. If you see this happening anywhere else on the site please send me a DM. Thank you
-
sweep in counterwallet.io is broken... use freewallet.io and the sweep feature in there if you want to sweep

Better than this guys haha

It's not really accident
-
Just a tax write-off by miners
-
-
Happens too often
-
-
You could just pay 1-2% of the $25M as a commission to one of your miner friends and then probably write it off
-
Not sure, but read about this a long time ago
-
-
please create a github issue for this and I will get the update in the next release

Desktop wallet for Win/Mac/Linux which supports Bitcoin and Counterparty - Issues · jdogresorg/freewallet-desktop
-
Haha cool will do. 👊
-
you should generate ONE 12-word passphrase and use that for everything
-
that ONE 12-word passphrase can be used in other wallets like freewallet.io and rarepepewallet.com.. and can generate an infinite amount of addresses
-
you should not be using multiple 12-word passphrases... you only need one
-
also, consider using freewallet.io DESKTOP wallet as that supports all the current features of Counterparty... counterwallet.io is older and doesn't support all the current features
-
counterwallet looks for addresses with BTC balances and displays them... it stops generating addresses at the first one it finds without a BTC balance... whereas freewallet.io generates the first 10 legacy addresses (addresses that start with 1) as well as the first 10 segwit addresses (starts with bc1)
-
fixed your permissions jan so you should be able to type again
-
sometimes the bots get a lil overzealous with their spam removal attempts with new members
-
thank you for the info. didn't know that.
I need to secure my wallet the best way possible , so I need your advices.
1) Which is safer security wise : counter-wallet or freewallet?
2) I think I got the 12 word passphrase when I first generated my counter-wallet? I don't see any option to take that again in counter-wallet
3) If I use my 12 word passphrase on a different browser or pc to access counter-wallet , will it load all my addresses that have balances or just the first one.
4) Same question as 3 for putting the 12 word passphrase in freewallet
5) So taking all my addresses private keys is not safe ? -
will save ya the tiume... there is what you typed
-
1.) bot counterwallet and freewallet are open source and the passphrase never leaves your wallet/browser... so both are equally secure
-
2.) correct.. your shown a 12-word passphrase ONCE and you have to confirm you wrote it down... and confirm that you will lose access to your funds if you lose the 12-word passphrase... you will never see it again in counterwallet
-
3.) correct... that same 12-word passphrases is transformed into a seed which is then used to generate addresses for you, all the addresses are indexed (1,2,3,4, etc)... so they should always appear in the exact same order
-
4.) same answer as #3.... your 12-word passphrase always accesses the same exact wallet addresses
-
5.) it is always a good idea to write down your private keys for addresses.... it can't hurt... also, if you want to access addresses from all of your wallets in freewallet.io (and not switch 12-word passphrases constantly cuz freewallet.io wasn't designed for that)... you can just use ONE of your 12-word passphrases as your main wallet... and then just import the private keys from addresses associated with your other 12-word passphrases..... that way all your addresses are accessible in freewallet without you having to change your 12-word passphrase constantly
-
best to just stick with one 12-word passphrase tho IMO.... only creating more headaches/worries for yourself using more than 1
-
"where is address XXX?? it was here a minute ago... what wallet was it associated with? .... argh... freak out! " 😛
-
-
I will be adding hardware wallet support to Freewallet.io desktop wallet in the coming months... so that should make you feel a bit better being able to store your pepes on a hardware wallet
-
click exchange... navigate directly to the market by typing it in the searchbox (BACONTITS/XCP) then press the green search icon.... that will take you directly to the market page... then place a sell order... then place a matching buy order... once a trade actually executes on the market, then it should start showing up in the main "XCP" markets list
-
-
-
-
donations much appreciated... seems they have slowed down considerably... only at 25% of the goal
-
😢
-
nope, I have no plans to support anything Ethereum in freewallet.io..... you CAN already put a "watch-only" address into freewallet.io and use the vault address... that will help you keep an eye on your pepes locked in vaults if you want... but nope, not a fan of ETH at all, so no plans to taint my wallet with any of that garbage 😛
-
thanks for the donation man... every little bit helps... just hoping I can focus on CP full-time in the future... already ramped up servers to keep xchain.io alive and fast and working on some other improvements.... but, not gonna quit my job until I get 3 years of salary secured.... which at this rate seems to be a few months away
-
sounds like an issue that could be solved with a "how to crack open a vault and import the private key into freewallet" article
-
unless I am missing something
-
-
Regarding importing private key into existing wallet, is it as simple as copy and paste? (Never done it before and i have 30+ wallets)
-
Which i also discovered to my shock horror, logging in and out of each caused my main wallet to "disappear"
-
Only to get it back after cleaning computer of all freewallet files and making a fresh installation. 🙃
-
How do I link an image of my artwork to a XCP asset so it shows up as Artwork in xchain?
Not the 50x50pixel token image, but an IPFS url of a larger image like Pepes and SOG?
Is there a format for putting it in JSON in the description or something? Or are only certain projects allowed to do this? -
correct.... freewallet.io is only meant to be used with ONE passphrase, not multiple
-
once you log out of one 12-word passphrase, then all addresses should be removed from the wallet... since your basically resetting the wallet
-
hence why I constantly say to only use ONE 12-word passphrase
-
create a .JSON file, point your asset description at the .JSON file... in the JSON file image = 48x48 icon... image_large = url to the large version of the image... image_title = title of the artwork.... or you can use the coindaddy.io asset enhancement service to create/host the .JSON file for you and you can just edit the values using simple point and click tools
-
@Unch4ined FYI... no, I am not the creator of XCP, the founders created Counterparty in 2014 and XCP was created through a proof-of-burn process... and no, I am not a co-founder... I'm just the dude who fell in love with the Counterparty platform and who has been supporting and running most stuff for it the past few years when others stepped back from Counterparty to work on other projects, etc.
-
also I tweaked your permissions so you should be able to post in here now without pimpslapper bot deleting what you say 😛
-
-
that is how XCP was created.... the most fair way to launch a coin... even the founders/developers didn't get any advantage at all... no pre-mine, no community fund, just a straight "burn BTC to get XCP for 30 days" scenario
-
Founders were disadvantaged haha
They had to pay and do the work for free. -
The founders got the same deal that everyone else got in terms of burning BTC for XCP.... they launched a fully working platform because they believed it was the right thing to do and that was the fair way to launch it..... this fair launch style came right before all the ICO premine ETH scam crazyness... I honestly believe that the way the coin was launched attracted the right kind of people to the project... not pump n dump scammers like 99% of the other token projects, but people who truly saw value in a token platform launched fairly on BTC, with no one having any advantage..... I know it is what attracted me to the project initially.
-
Then vitalik came along, promised his rube goldberg machine would do everything and solve every problem, and collected money hand over fist with no working product... and established that as a "legitimate" way to launch projects... IMO it set the entire space back years... ETH is a cool sandbox to play around with ideas... just wish it was pitched as such and not as some solve every problem solution, which it clearly is not
-
</end eth rant>
-
-
-
-
never... not focused on the EVM.... we decided to not implement that years ago as it would put the entire ecosystem at risk (DAO hack and other things were going on at the time).... not worth risking everything we have built to put the EVM into the platform... if people want to play with ETH, they can do so on ETH
-
I know just fuckin witcha

Hi! Waht is the best/cheapest way to buy xcp at the moment? Thanks!
-
dispensers on freewallet
-
What you want it for? How did you find us?
-
we talk about it last week. freewallet cant pay fee from different key.
-
Would like to buy pepes on dispenser with it but price seems really high on dispenser, a lot of scams and risk to lose your btc with multiple orders at the same time
-
Is there an exchange that delivers xcp at the moment?
-
Dex trade https://dex-trade.comLink
Buy Bitcoin and Crypto, trade over 500+ coins, stake, try demo trading, and get soaked in play2earn games. Welcome to the cryptocurrency exchange of the free
-
Yeah, they are the only one right?
-
-
-
ok thanks
-
some people have had problems with dex trade though? Not 100% reliable I heard
-
Naww just ppl who expect withdraws immediately… no instances of them taking funds or scamming
-
Just some lag on withdraws sometimes
-
P2pb2b exchange listing coming online soon to for us based users
-
Prices on dispensers tend to be less high than if you bought them on opensea via emblemvault. Not sure where you got the ideas that dispensers are prone to scams, I think you confuse that with what is going on with scam vaults on opensea.
Just be sure to check there are no pending unconfirmed TXs on a dispenser before sending BTC, and don't send with low miners fee if you want to be sure no other buyer comes along to beat you to getting a buy TX into a block first. Also note that people are likely to refund you if you somehow sent funds and did not receive the Pepe. This project is full of honest people, not scammers -
had someone send my XCP to my bitcoin segwit addy that starts with a 'b'
-
is it hard to recover that XCP and bring to my normal Counterparty wallet?
-
do you have a link to guide this,
-
True
-
Thank you for the replies J.dog 💪 keep up the good work. Hopefully xcp will be listed on a top exchange again in the near future. 🙏
-
Is anyone else having issues using the exchange on FreeWallet (Mac)
-
👍 out of all token schemes I'm aware of xcp was only one unforgeably costly for all bc of burn. every ico is free for sellers so not secure.
-
Great point ☝️
-
Perfect 👌
-
hey is anyone else having issues sending funds out of freewallet? i tried sending and it said successful, but the tx is not found on the block explorer. tried sending again and the wallet is just saying error now
-
-
-
isnt that for confirmations? just seeing the tx broadcast is usually pretty quick
-
-
yeah i understand for confirmations but the tx isnt found at all
-
freewallet said it was successful when i sent it
-
and when i tried again it is saying error
-
-
btc
-
-
could be you sent with way too low of a BTC fee and your tx is not being relayed to other nodes
-
https://blockchair.com/ is usually pretty good for displaying where your tx is in the queueLink
Block explorer and the most powerful API for the most popular blockchains that allows you to find, sort, and filter blockchain blocks, transactions, and addresses.
-
also btcnitro.com is good for relaying your tx to other nodes (if the fee is not wicked cheap)
-
i see, i just went with the recommended fee
-
tx hash?
-
Upload image to imgur
-
Grab link from imgur
-
Add in description; imgur/copy and paste.png; “your title”
-
In imgur- right click save as from the image- not the link
-
I want to add a .mp4 / has anyone done this successfully yet? Didn’t work in imgur? (Don’t want YouTube for this) so any working examples would be super
-
mp4 not accepted/supported on xchain at this time... only options for audio/video are youtube and soundcloud
-
What is actual cost of creating an NFT with XCP?
-
just the cost of a bitcoin transaction (if you use numeric asset)... or 0.50 XCP ($10) plus cost of bitcoin transaction for named assets
-
Awesome 😊
-
Thanks for confirming- and animated gifs seem to have a length limit of a few seconds/ imgur makes them mp4- does coindaddy asset enhancement allow for larger gifs
-
coindaddy asset enhancement service just creates/hosts a .json file for you and allows you to edit the data in that .JSON file with an easy to use point-n-click tool, it does not host any image files
-
custom name/value pair... image_large == url to large image
-
your images are being shown now via the .json data.... xchain runs a script to pull down the asset icons once a day and after that, your icon will show up in freewallet
-
just gotta wait 24 hours or so
-
-
-
-
lol.. that was me fucking up and moving funds to a new dispenser
-
I closed the old dispenser on the segwit address... setup one on a new legacy address, then moved the funds from the old dispenser address to the new address... it triggered the vend
-
sorting it out now... still only 25% of the way funded... even pros like me make mistakes sometimes with dispensers
-
yes, funds are fine... just triggered an unexpected vend from the dispenser 😛
-
I want all donated funds on same address as the active dispenser... so just me juggling funds 🙂
-

-
new dispenser setup at https://xchain.io/tx/1712889 ... this time its a legacy address (starts with 1) so should be able to accept donations from RPW and freewallet mobile and any other BTC wallet 🙂
-
Opinions on best platform to mint xcp tokens into nfts?
-
freeport.io is designed for it and makes the interface pretty easy... can just upload the image you want and pick asset name... it handles the rest
-
The token issuance as well? Or you bring a token you issued on counterwallet. Was expecting the latter
-
And can there be text data attached? This nft is gonna be special in that it's representation a physical item that is located where no nft has gone before
-
So i want to link to documentation thst proves what the description says
-
I belive freeport just uses the image name and a single title/description for the image/artwork
-
Ah. This is too rare to not include extra data
-
I'm pretty sure no one can put this together (the physical part) before me, so I'll share
-
My friend is having his dogs cremains launched in a rocket that will crash at specific coordinates on the moon
-
I'm thinking to have extremely limited issuance (or just one) and have the company include the public address(es) on a piece of paper (which we can also prove) this way the asset(s) can be on the moon along with what they represent
-
Sounds rare!
-
How would I create a market order for a non-rare pepe? Normally, I use RPW which works fine for Pepes, but what about other Counterparty assets?
-
So would want to include a document (or url to one rather) from the agency to prove that space on thr rocket was purchased for x grams of animal cremains, and included a page of paper with "public address"
-
in freewallet.io desktop wallet... click exchanges, in the searchbox type the full market pair ASSET1/ASSET2... for instance MIKESTOKEN/XCP... that will take you direct to the market pair... create a buy order, create a matching sell order.. once one trade actually executes on the market, then the market pair is added to the list for XCP, etc.
-
It's a public launch so it'll be easy to look up
-
very cool 🙂
-
Counterparty going to outer-space again 🙂
-
Yea someone just gave him the idea today and offered to do it , and he came to me
-
Gives me another idea, currently she's also on a space craft in constant orbit of the earth
-
Can look up the current coordinates at any time
-
That's another nft right there
-
She was a special animal, if that wasn't obvious already lol
-
-
-
The sleeve is the launch for the thing thsts in orbit
-
It was a recent SpaceX launch, contained like 18 separate loads from different entities, a record so far
-
good looking dog
-
@mikeinspace any suggestions for minting xcp asset into nft, and can include data in addition to the image?
-
@jdogresorg is the expert.
-
She was 15 when she developed dementia last year. He had her since she was born. Got her trained as a service animal; saved his life numerous times
-
I've never seen a tattoo look so realistic
-
Steve Butcher
-
He's on ig
-
-
That's from a mold of her snout
-
There was a waiting list of several months and I think he spent almost $2500 total. Close to 17 hours over two sessions
-
And finally, he sent some of the ashes to this company in the UK (no one here would do it) and they are making tattoo ink from the ash and mailing it back
-
Cremation Ink. They even took the leftover ash to a park with lots of dogs (not exactly a dog park just like the most popular place to walk dogs) and found a spot off the trail where he buried the ashes at the root of a sapling tree
