Will post a fully updated list in the next few days, as soon as I have some time -
Do non-divisible counterparty assets have a unique ID for each unit of the supply or are they technically fungible? Meaning there really is no uniqueness between each unit of the supply
-
they can be sorted by transaction from issuer
-
Fungible. Always has been. Think it’s the case with divisible too
-
but no ID
-
A FIFO method like ordinals could be created that sits outside the protocol
-
This has been done with RAREPEPE for example
-
300 club, right?
-
-
I believe so, in the future I think this could be applied to any non divisible asset
-
Why would divisible assets be any different?
-
I would presume people could have portions of many whole units, so without having received a full 1.00000000 units people would have a weird 'ID' to own
-
ie: collecting a (full) LORDKEK over time
-
maybe the idea behind ordinal theory could be applied but it would look weird to display
-
Interesting, thanks for the insight playas

Hello @jdogresorg I keep on getting this error message in Freewallet: Error composing send transaction via API: Insufficient BTC at address. Any quick fix? thanks

Actually I just realised the BTC is showing in the wallet but on mempool it's not in the wallet it's stuck with unconfirmed label. I probably put a gas fee that was too low. It was 5 days ago though, what shall I do to unlock it? @jdogresorg

Stamps do not use xchain services since we use our own CP nodes. What’s the rationale for charging more?
-
Xchain doesn’t even show the correct image in a lot of cases since xchain uses issuances and stamps use the first asset transaction data for immutability
-
Oh? Your project doesnt' benefit from having the "This is the official card of the Bitcoin Stamps" banner on the website and wallet? You may not directly use any of the xchain services.... but for sure all your users use xchain (not aware of any other CP explorer that your users are using to view their transactions...... As for the rationale, it is given above... larger projects consume more resources cuz I have to host/cache images locally....
-
Why not use our servers for the images then. Then we pay for the hosting and caching, at least they will be correct. There are even assets labeled as bitcoin stamps which are not so it’s confusing overall. Seems pointless to pay for something that is incorrect.
-
This is not a conversation on a community project.... I am making decisions for my Coindaddy, LLC business so that I can become profitable and cover operating costs.... I can not continue to run xchain at a loss, and continue to host an block explorer and wallet for services who do not pay their fair share.
-
Might be better not to display the images for stamps then, and I don’t really see what paying for the incorrect images and a banner does. We are running our hosting and services at a loss since it’s a community project as well.
-
can be some package like 50PCS/100 USD 100PCS/300 USD...you deserve a better life to ...i am glad to pay you
-
I encourage you to spend your time and energy writing up a block explorer and wallet and open source indexer (as I have done with xchain.io, freewallet.io, and the BTNS indexer).... Personally, I am choosing to make changes necessary to keep operating xchain.io...... It is unfortunate that after 8+ years this is still the only explorer that is primarily used... i've been saying for years we need more explorers and wallets... Perhaps ppl should try writing the tools and services they want to see.... vs just letting others do it and then complaining about how things "should be" 😛
-
We already have an open source wallet called stamp wallet and adding more to the stampchain api which already includes dispensers and holders data.
-
I will be revisiting coindaddy.io (in middle of moving to a new server now) and polishing up the services and such over the next month or so....... get the asset enhancement service working again, ability to upload images, videos, etc.... also have a merchant invoicing service I wrote years ago that has been working but just never turned it into a service..... so, focusing on that too
-
Yes I am aware.... you already have a wallet written by anotehr dev... and have not open sourced your indexer
-
not a personal attack bro... just saying..... I work on a FUCKLOAD of stuff, so not everything is as easy as one would think
-
A dev that is part of our team and other devs are getting involved with the indexer
-
anyway, I appreciate your feedback.... and I am not looking to hurt any project.... as I said, I will offer a grace period and can come to terms on a price that is "fair" for both parties.
-
Not sure what that has to do with how xchain mis-represents our project and is asking for money
-
Excellent... I look forward to when the indexer and all tools are open sourced, as they all should be 🙂
-
mis-represents your project and is asking for money
-
1. I never got any funds for any banner from stamps
-
2. I returned alll "donated" stamps before I took away your "free" banner during drama when you were spamming src-20 and "attacking" CP..
-
1. You DID get money which you returned when you decided to delist all the related src-20 items
-
3. I gave you back the green banner at no cost....
-
so to be clear, you have paid me nothing, are a load on my servers with tons of image requests.... and here you are attacking me mfor how I choose to run my services
-
lets not go backwards bro..... I am making decisions for how I can continue to opreate xchain.... Bitcoin Stamps never paid me anything for a green banner.... so... technically, I could yank the green banner right now.... but not loooking to do that... not looking to cause drama.... simply saying, going forward projects who want a green banner will need to pay a yearly cost
-
True. The simple fact is we are both running at a loss for the community, and xchain is not representative of the stamps project currently so it would be much more effective to leverage resources
-
if you dont want to pay that yearly cost, that is 100% fine... no one is forcing you to 🙂
-
Aka use our image hosting sounds like a good solution to minimize the burden on your end, or at least use the stamp api to reference over to our servers
-
have see what Casey did with ordinals (RUNES)...jdog 8 years dev work stick on counterparty is long enough, some figures in this group passed away ...truly respect your work, get some return for that is fair enough
-
donation or pay for service is good for me. no money no honey
-
let me reorganize things on coindaddy.io and xchain.io..... part of the operational burden right now is having one big nfts.json file which contains all the assets and images..... with the addition of Biitcoin Stamps, that file exploded.... so, going to move to a model where instead of having to download one big nfts.json file.... gonna just update the xchain APIs to pass along any "projects" and "project images" a token/asset is associated with....... should make things much simpler/faster having all the data available in one API call....... one that is done, lets revisit the bitcoin stamps green banner... not looking to damage any project or do a money grab.... just keep things maintainable and cover operating costs. 🙂
-
-
also gonna standardize the way that project JSON is parsed, and provide tools to make it a 1-click to "reparse" a broken/bad image..... spending too much time now tracking down bad images only to figure out that it is bad JSON or bad project JSON..... need to automate that as well 🙂
-
Cheers, thanks. That explains a lot. Just looking to collaborate and make things more efficient for all since we certainly support all CP services.

low value dispensers with plenty of stock are very low risk, high value single dispensers are very high risk
I have both bought and sold assets using dispensers and never had a problem -
Yeah, I do see that most dispensers are ok.
But if at some point we hit bull market, the bull will go without CP if we can't trust expensive dispensers.
Also even if evil is everywhere, my concern is really about highly liquid market. There will be "innocent" frontrun. -
In the first stamps explosion I had to hire a friend to help me with refunds, around 120 refunds of innocent frontruns 😁
-
sounds like a nightmare. I know CMYK was dealing with something similar.
-
Yes, same crazy week. It was also mixed with the Hiro users buying from taproot wallets (cannot remember if the alert in the dispenser page was not there yet or they just didn't read it)
-
I tried to redirect buyers through the project site, where I included some disclaimers but still
-
xverse wallet uses taproot. Those users were having the issue
-
I guess Hiro too if you accidently use the Ordinals address
-
Probably both yeah, many of the collectors were new to stamps/counterparty, they came after stamps integration
-
Jdog runs at a loss for the entire community. You run at a loss for YOUR project.
-
What’s the difference? Stamps is a subset of the CP community and they both benefit together
-
-
More stampoors benefits CP so we grow and dev together is the goal
-
-
I’m just curious who in the stampchain public community would be responsible for paying for such a banner and who does it really benefit? Stampchain overall doesn’t consume any of those xchain resources and most stampoors are using Freewallet which by default donations goes to xchain dev anyway.
Stampchain is already footing big bills at a loss for the community and it’s always been threats against the stamp community from CP devs with potential forks, xcp fees, delisting banners, images, etc. The goal has always been to grow together imo not to create friction amongst a group that should be aligned in purpose considering we are both utilizing public code. -

This new vaulting standard allows non-ETH NFT collections the ability to have their own smart contract and OpenSea storefront. Emblem Vault allows the storing and trading of NFTs and Digital Assets across all blockchains without the requirement of a bridge, a one-of-a-kind technology. This allows assets to find further exposure and liquidity in larger markets compared to their native chain. we are ALL kevin
-
thanks for the vid will try it wen i have 20 mins of alone time lol
-
I'd say it takes about an hour to vault... keep aside some time to learn and wait for all the confirmations and transactions to go through
-
Is the primary purpose for vaulting Pepe’s to get them on Opensea?
Otherwise our only alternatives are dispensers (scary) or buy/sell orders (requires XCP generally)?
Also, are Fakes part of the curated vaults? -
yes and yes
-
Would it be common to remove it from the vault once you acquired a Pepe?
I like keeping things on chain but dispensers kind of scare me. -
almost all of the Counterparty community recommends unvaulting after buying pepe's on emblem vault
-
-
I’ve been considering selling a couple so probably best to vault them.
Does this compete with what Pawn Shop is doing with their drops and green check dispensers? -
not really into notables or follow their process - would have to check with them

Why is that working. It worked twice for me, but then stopped working. Both devices on the same network had the issue.
-
is it the 3rd party api service being used to get balance / utxo data reached a limit and by switching to a vpn resulting in a different ip address that gets around it ?

Prolly…. Can’t say for sure but switching to a vpn gives u a new ip so requests should work… will eventually pull btc balances from addrindexrs instead of 3rd party api

Hello Boys & girls
-
So I had my first scam interaction on XCP in the many years I've been using this...
What happened:
Wanted to buy some XCP from dispensers, checked list in freewallet, picked on dispenser with good price and sufficient supply
Checked if the dispenser still had the needed XCP, all checked out so transfered my btc to buy the XCP
Transaction got confirmed, but sudenly it was not visisble on xchain anymore... checked further, discoverd the dispenser was closed the same block as I was buying from it -
IMO this is a technical flaw, and I have some ideas on how this could be tackled....
But I have faaaaaaar less technical knowledge than these great counterparty devs so...
Would it be possible, from a technical point of view, to include a function where a dispeser, when being manually closed and still having the funds, that creates a grace period function before it actually closes
Let's say, person opens dispenser with 100XCP... after few hours he decides to close it, this transactions gets confirmed but the actual closing only happens 2 or 3 blocks later -
FYI, this is the dispenser I believe is intentionally scamming

ok, seems I'm not the only victim of this *hole

Solutions to "rugspenser" problem
Attack vector: Scammer detects incoming buy and immediately sends another buy transaction with a higher fee. The scammer’s tx gets priority and the legit buyer loses his bitcoins. Possible solutions: 1. Pre-payment before full payment This requires a protocol change. The logic is simple. If less than a full dispense is detected, allow up to 12 blocks for the second tx. Perfectly safe as the protocol keeps the token on escrow. The buyer, if not trusting the seller, can thus make a tiny pre-pa...
