Hello thanks
-
How Can i know if this is the official telegram group?
-
Because it says 'Official' on it, also see our Slack chat, link in the chat description. The foundation recently created this channel in order to ensure we had control of moderation and communication.
-
-
-
Bitcoin is still the best though.
-
Would be a hard sell, but if the mempool and fee situation were to get unbearable again, all options are on the table.
-
this wallet is pretty bad-ass

Rarepepewallet but only for certified Pepes, I think.
Adding DEX to Vanilla XCP is something I'd like to do. -
yeah the dex component of rpw only allows for trading of certified rare pepes

you can run it on a shared server, you can run it on a local machine too
-
its mostly clientside js with custom counterparty server api calls via php scripts
-
-

i havent worked on it since I started working on rpw

but its a good framework for a web wallet IMO, you'll obviously need to tailor the code to your needs and update any dead APIs

unfortunately i dont have the time

Heh... and this is why I tell people not to buy XCP unless you need it or you truly believe in the platform long-term.... I've lost over 200K in the past week... you don't hear me complaining.... Gotta wear your big boy pants when you "invest" in cryptos :)
-
yep... same.. i'll keep buying :)
-
daymnnn
-
-
easy come... easy go... I bought most of my XCP considerably cheaper... so in reality, I havent 'lost' anything.... my stash is just not worth as much anymore... but, I have faith it will go up, so I keep buying :)
-
-
-
I think XCP will be spending some more time on marketing/PR for CP in the coming months.... lots in the works... I'm still very confident that XCP is a winner long-term
-
^^this
-
-
LTC will prolly keep going up as ppl hedge.... if your looking for some quick profit mata MMM.... prolly LTC :)
-

-
Yes .. I know ..
But I didn't expect xcp down this much.. -
-
you must be in the wrong pump room

lol, just sell your xcp for pepecash, now its all gone

everything will dump

everything will pump

they're pretty stable

He been trying to get out. Lol. Told yall when he first joined what he was trying to do. He is noob and tried noob force pump tricks

Hahahahahaha
-
wished you hedged in other assets now. Lol
-
how much XCP are you looking to sell? what price are you wanting to sell it for?
-
He wished he sold when he first joined chat @ $10 when he was trying a $20 pump. Hahahaha
-
Btc $2300 and many dumping looking for the next pump and dump. These last 4 months got many blinded and fooled worse than trump tweets.
-
did he say how many XCP he was looking to sell?
-
was it more than 5? LOL
-
I have 1200 coins
-
what price are you trying to sell for?
-
Let's compete to get tx #1,000,000.
I hope one of my oneliner broadcasts will make it -
-
-
wasn't that before the run up to $22 USD?
-
Till hold nothing we can do
-
Don't say xcp won't go to 0.00500 in future ..lol
-
-
-
did you buy it on the way up to $22 or on the way down afterward?
-
Downward
-
so you should be happy to cost average down
-
why are you seeming to complain so much about the XCP price?

very
-
I like to buy my XCP cheap

do you realize that very few people in counterparty finds the price interesting?

tx #1 mln will show here : https://xchain.io/tx/1000000
-
would be cool to broadcast a message for that one
-
what's your estimate for when it will happen?
-
994,834 now + 53 in mempool
-
sorry 999.834
-
with 1-2 tx popping in per minute this should take 1-2 hr
-
Good luck. I'm trying with several low cost transactions. For it to happen at # 1 mln there must be first be a row of full blocks before a mempool cleaning one
-
Broadcasting working now? I always get some error

CP uses embedded consensus, so it requires a blockchain for any transactions
-
Perhaps your thinking of https://counterpartytalk.org/t/cip-proposal-13-mcat-multiparty-counterparty-aggregate-transaction/3151/10CIP Proposal (13) MCAT - Multiparty Counterparty Aggregate Transaction
Makes sense, easier is better. To me the big benefit is lower fees but being able to pay fees in XCP would be valuable as well. If this is implemented I do think that an option should still exist for users to send transactions directly, paying a higher fee in BTC to circumvent having their transactions aggregated. Some people might feel that running transactions through a server introduces counterparty risk, similar to masternodes for Dash. Sending transactions to be aggregated for a lower fe...

read the whole statement instead of picking in a part to get new meaning. you are sending out random cards to random users. good for you.
the user who made the millionth tx. they get no reward.
THAT was my point. -
ahhh, because you want a reward?
-
the literal definition of door prize is not giving random people rewards, but the ticket holder. the one who won the raffle
"CONGRATS you are the millionth person in the door, to celebrate we are going to give away stuff to random people who are not you." - yeah. that is not a door prize
so yes. i am correct. no door prize
I was mistaken in thinking there would be
despite the fact that some users touted that they would be sending such and such to the millionth tx.
whatever. -
im sorry you feel that way, maybe you could petition the foundation to give you a door prize
-
-
-
so are you saying my attempt was half-assed?
-
-
-
-
-
1 million is only a big deal in base 10. base 10 is the number set of choice because humans have ten fingers. despite this absurdity, 1 million still has importance. it's important because people want it to be, because they get angry if they don't get a door prize. the world is full of strange creatures who believe deeply in the power of randomly selected groups of numbers 🔟
-
Maybe the prize will be given from the universe in a way and at a time of his choosing.
-
as kek allows
-
The mountain had appeared before you and for you it is clear that this is to be done and you are so very fortunate to be the chosen one to deliver what you feel is deserved. Seek the address of the millionth and bestow your gifts upon him.

Anything not price related
-
What is the purpose of xcp?
Can anyone share some use cases or potential applications (aside from rarepepes) -
Why was xcp created
-
Decentralized stock market
-
That's it?
-
That was the original purpose I believe
-
Ok ok. Getting somewhere now
-
'Counterparty aims to decentralize and democratize finance in the same way the Internet itself has done with creation and sharing of information.'
What keeps counterparty or xcp free from the manipulation that is inherent in the internet's model or traditional centralized stock markets? -
that's pretty disingenuous
-
your pretty disingenuous :)
-
I am genuinely interested in my questions
-
Probably need to clarify your question a bit more.... "free from the manipulation that is inherent".... doesn't really make it clear what your asking.
-
how so?
-
-
I've never once said anything bad about you or any of your projects, but trying to get scammers and pumpers to join a room you don't like seems pretty nasty
-
Check out the games with tradeable blockchain assets like Spells of Genesis or Force of Will (and the other one with the Rustbit asset). That is one possible use...
-
-
You could also use tokens as digital coupons or vouchers, entry tickets etc
-
You can't copy these tickets
-
Thanks @djangobates will take a look
I guess what I don't understand is how decentralizing things is inherently good. Or how it prevents bad from happening.
And if no one knows then that's ok too. It just makes a curios selling point -
Believe me, when polo is down, I always find that the DEX is a wonderful thing. If only transactions were faster...
-
-
What are you referring to Wile E.
-
Especially when trading assets I prefer using the trustees DEX than an exchange... Of course that only works for XCP assets in this case...
-
i have also thought of entry tickets. such a system allows users to scalp easier. as the tickets can be transfered to anyone once bought
-
-
Selling tickets is not always wanted, but yes
-
-
-
traders and speculators are scammers now?
-
-
Or you burn it to gain entrance
-
hail kek
-
Or that way
-
Ok so it seems that so far we don't know why decentralization is inherently good and/or how it prevents bad from happening
-
You said it was inherently good. I say there are situations where decentralisation is better
-
Right. What are they and why
-
Why is decentralization good?
-
Or where
-
And how
-
too meta for this room, imho
this is basically a question that can only be answerd yourself by research, and then the more you know, you may even change your understanding -
Ok. So you don't know. Got it
-
-
I'm open minded and curious.
Give me a theory or a concrete example. ... anything -
I own hella pepe cash for fuck's sake
-
bitcoin is decentralized
small business is decentralized
evolution is decentralized
religion is decentralized -
corruption can only be brought forth through the bottleneck that centralization embodies.
on the most fundamental level p2p means consensus.
when Eth got forked, consensus took the form of a fork. everyone got what they wanted, and the corruption of the centralized nepotists fostered the growth of a more truly decentralized project in etc.
but in order to talk about de/central argument you need to reference things like napster and soulseek or torrent and eth/bitcoin... and frankly, this is a room for XCP, which is a niche of the bitcoin ecosystem.... and therefore your subject is too broad for this room.
don't get me wrong. i know that i am talking about -
encouraging pumpers to joi is what I am referring to.
-
Ok. I'll wait and see if anyone who has some idea can give an answer
-
-
Lol. I personally don't know. That's why I'm asking. It's ok if you also don't know
-
-
-
also the internet is decentralized.
-
Ok
-
yes I would like clarity on this my self
-
to me xcp is the new OTC token, counterparty is a financial term most who don't know about trading or how market makers work.
-
-
can assets be traded in bitcoin now?
-
no not from what I seen
-
it needs to be
-
that will give the assets we created more viotility
-
btc > xcp > assets > xcp > bitcoin
unless you get on an exchange like tux. they will go directly btc to pepecash -
and there are swapbots at tokenly.com which go btc to asset
-
-
-
what do you mean sipher
-
can you explain further
-
-
i see an unconfirmed order on xchain for a btc-xcp pair
-
how this is possible?
-
-
1EqXdL8p83TeggGnonqsfnyrGRF6zyFJ2M
-
that's the address with the pending order
-
i've used the dex for hundreds of transactions but never to turn xcp or xcp-asset into bitcoin
-
we want our asset listed on the exchanges
-
- 21 July 2017 (47 messages)
-
you sure?
-
huh it' doesn't show up let me see
-
A question. In case of a chain split (which to my knowledge is still possible). What does that mean for Counterparty? On which chain is it going to exist? And if it's only on one chain, is there a risk that exchanges trading XCP could fuck up or at least wreck XCP withdrawals and trades for a while?
-
OK. I hope Polo and friends get that and will be up fast, if there are any necessary changes
-
someone just bought close to 4 btc worth of xcp on tuxexchange
-
the only problem is there is very low sell support on tux
-
xcp is now trading at .1 btc there
-
-
yes
-
Tux Exchange - Cryptocurrency Exchange
Tux Exchange is a cryptocurrency exchange that offers spot trading for many popular cryptocurrencies. Ethereum/Bitcoin, Litecoin/Bitcoin, Dogecoin/Bitcoin, Peercoin/Bitcoin and Dash/Bitcoin are currently offered.
-
-
-
it was all at once
-
either someone misfired with a bot or donated close to 4 btc
-
well
-
someone's bot fucked up in the aftermath
-
kept auto placing buy orders
-
up to .007 i think
-
someone sold it back down
-
damn.. I removed my overpriced XCp sell order only hours ago...
-
he possibly bought in his own sell offers to pump the price chart
-
btc-xcp is supported. you just need a wallet that has btcpay implemented.
i'm not sure it's worth using though. DEX is great for markets with a more or less fixed price (like pepe cards). if you place a btc-xcp order you risk getting filled if the price goes against you -
So orders like these are made this way, using btcpay? https://xchain.io/tx/1007516
-
if fees go lower by factor 10-100 maybe
-
yes, if i want to buy i will place a matching order.
I will be the one buying BTC, so the protocol escrows my XCP
You will be given some blocks (24?) to transfer me BTC.
If you do, then the protocol transfer my XCP to you.
If you don't, the protocol releases XCP back to me. -
I see.. can this only be done by runing an own XCP node?
-
No
-
I see. Any client that can broadcast a message: https://counterparty.io/docs/api/#create_btcpayCounterparty API | Counterparty
Developers/API.md
-
Anyone can but it requires your wallet to be logged in, so it's sort of a pain
-
this isn't exactly true, if btc isn't received within 20 blocks for a matching order, the order just goes back to open until the expiration
-
the problem is that if you send btc and do not get in within 20 blocks of the order match, you're shit out of luck
-
so in the current fee environment using btcpay comes with that risk
-
in the case of xcp assets and the dex, its good because it's permissionless AND secure
-
Yes @therealloon3 - those do sound like some positives
-
most crypto exchanges demand some sort of bribe to get your token/asset listed
-
bittrex.com will charge you 5 btc i think
-
Can traditional 'centralized' models also be permissionless And secure ?
-
(Not that I know of any that are. It's possible though, yes)
-
not really, permission is inherent with centralized models (like a traditional exchange)
-
Permission usually = $ ?
-
that's true for exchange operaters
-
but they also take on risk
-
Yes, makes sense
-
How does a decentralized system make $ then are there fees elsewhere or is it altruistic ?
