Does anybody know that can we make listing token issued by xcp counterparty on other exchanges like novaexchange, c-cex, bittrex, Poloniex, etc. ??
-
Did you find any way to list token issued on xcp to other exchanges??
-
Getting your asset listed on an exchange goes on and exchange by exchange basis. It's automatically listed on the counterparty exchange as soon as it's created. However to get it on one of the "big boys" you have to bribe them or pay heavy fees... Or prove that there's already existing volume which justifies them listing it
-
Ok.. Thanks.. And do you have any specific information for listing on Poloniex and Bittrex exchangez
-
They ask for some information of asset like Algo, RPC port, P2P port, ANN thrrad, Source Code of token, etc.... Where can i get this details brother??
-
-
-
Oh.. Novaexchange and c-cex??
-
-
So what about bittrex brother??
-
-
who will trust it
-
-
A dev?? I dont have idea about dev?
-
who will trust it? why ot pay for bittrex?
-
But brother if you can give me info about listing on bittrex that would be great help from you to me..
-
PCA$H should pay to get listed
-
-
K🐸K
-
-
Oh.
-
And in counterparty wallet where can i find the details of token like Algo, RPC port, P2P port, ANN thrrad, Source Code of token, etc....?
-
-
-
-
Okkkay.. Let me try.. Thanks a lot buddy for such important information for me
-
paying a big exchange to list a new asset is not good use of funds. I would much rather give back directly to the xcp community by paying a dev or for development, and then making a good portion of the project opensource. This kind of behavior will help the ecosystem, more than paying any exchange. Who will trust RPW? Who will trust the DEX? who will trust a website built to interact with the blockchain? I would imagine that those people are not in the demographic of likely users anyhow.
-
Ok
-
Best way to get a token listed on an exchange is to focus on making your token have value and volume..... if your token has some real-world use-case AND had a decent amount of consistent volume, then it becomes more attractive to traditional exchanges to list..... Exchanges typically only list coins which they can earn some profit off of... either through A.) Having someone pay them a large amount to list a token on the exchagne... or b.) Having enough users/volume on the token that the exchange can earn some funds through consistent trading.
-
FLDC, SCOTCOIN, DATABITS, PEPECASH, COVAL, RAREPEPEPRTY.... all are listed on exchanges because they have decent userbase and daily trade volume (5k+ daily)
-
I purposely left them out.... not sure if they paid to get on any exchanges :P
-
all the others got on generically i believe :)
-
And TROPTIONS
-
very organic
-
I scooped 36 troptions I'm gonna retire off them
-
lol, yeah... TROPTIONS tricked their way onto CMC I think..... trading with themselves on the DEX to make it look like it was high volume....... but, they didn't trick any exchanges... notice, only place TROPTIONS is listed is CMC... not any exchanges except for DEX :)
-
-
Glad to see someone else is waiting to drop TROPTIONS on garland for insane XCP prices ;)
-
Lol
-
:)
-
Can u please share Website link of dex exchange
-
xcp dex is built into the counterparty platform.... you can use it via 1.) command line 2.) counterwallet.io or 3.) xcpdex.com
-
xcpdex.com is the best place for visualizing DEX info :)
-
Thanks 👍

As I understand it, we will be good to go with segwit with things the way they are... but will need some tweaks to stuff like atomic swap code now when segwit activates (right now atomic swaps are waiting on segwit to get enabled)

its easy to be confused about what is or isn't a security, since most ICOs are probably issuing tokens that could be classified as securities

Lol I sent 25 tx's with low fee, but can't send anymore as I'm classed as a spammer
-
Didn't realise 😅 Ah well, will send 25 tx every 2 days
-
your in good company... all CP transactions are considered spam by some 🙂
-
counterwallet :P
-
my personal mempool is clogged
-
best way is to prime your wallet
-
what do you mean?
-
prime == send a few transactions to your address... so that you have unused/available UTXOs for more sends
-
It sounds like your unable to send any more CP transactions when all your available BTC is tied up/pending on other CP transactions... so, the solution around that is to just have more small amounts of BTC/UTXOs to use..... then you don't run out of available BTC for transactions as fast
-
Ah I see. Is there a formula for it? I have 270ish transactions to send
-
if your sending that many transactions... you might want to just try using bitsplit.tokenly.com
-
Yeh I wasn't 100% on the process, plus it bugged out once during sign up so was put off.

Serialized Tokens
There have been a few conversations in the past on slack about serialized tokens and how they could be accomplished. Unfortunately, all of that conversation history is lost. I think it is time to capture this idea in a forum post and get feedback from the community. The general idea is to be able to assign each token a unique ID which is tracked through the tokens lifecycle. Example Use Joe the artist creates a new piece of artwork called “DigitalCurrency”. Joe now wants to sell the ‘origina...

Idea: Token Auctions
The DEX is on of the most popular features of Counterparty. However, there are situations where it does not work well (or not at all). Token auctions will address several of these cases, such as: Asset is rarely traded. Therefore the seller does not know where to place ask price. Seller owns 100 GAMECRYSTALS, exactly what's needed to level up. Seller is only interested in selling all or nothing. A card designer wants to sell a card bundle Asset issuer wants to sell the issuance right (also ca...

Investor Bulletin: Initial Coin Offerings | Investor.gov
Developers, businesses, and individuals increasingly are using initial coin offerings, also called ICOs or token sales, to raise capital. These activities may provide fair and lawful investment opportunities. However, new technologies and financial products, such as those associated with ICOs, can be used improperly to entice investors with the promise of high returns in a new investment space. The SEC’s Office of Investor Education and Advocacy is issuing this Investor Bulletin to make investors aware of potential risks of participating in ICOs.

Question: The counterparty network requires servers to run; how does this bode for decentralization? From what I've read so far, it doesn't sound like you could make the claim that it's decentralized.
-
I'm a proponent and supporter of counterparty, however, this has been bugging me
-
.... so what i was saying was that an example usage of discord is forwarded from snareup.com
they host a weekly radioshow where a bot plays links, and another records the show. there is no screenshare, but the audio is pretty good for connecting ppl from all over the world, there is hardly ever much of a delay.
Another example, Spacestation, is a bunch of traders. They have so many crypto related bots in there your head would spin. https://discord.gg/SYTemf5
there are a crazy ton of bots for discord. mee6.xyz gamifies participation even!
I set up a discord "server" chat.pepe.website

Anyone can run a federated server
-
It's just that public servers are far from common
-
Ever thought of solar power. Great 3 months of high energy. lol
-
But can end users run a simple node to support the network? Opening ports on a personal computer is asking for trouble
-
About 400gb of disk to run a node
-
However, if you're a Bitcoin node you benefit xcp
-
The whole xcp db is on chain
-
But the network requires these federated servers and is not sustained by the users, correct?
-
The bitcoin blockchain is about 130GB. What's the other 270GB comprise of? I was under the impression that the bitcoin side stored all the data and that the servers just processed and served the data.
-
Counterparty transactions are bitcoin transactions... all counterparty is doing is encoding data into bitcoin transactions... and decoding bitcoin transactions into counterparty data..... A counterparty "node" is just a computer that runs bitcoind and the counterparty-lib script..... nodes do not communicate with one another... Counterparty is DEFINITELY decentralized, in no way could someone claim that counterparty is centralized.
-
The only reason to run a counterparty node is if you need to interact with counterparty... ie encode/decode CP transactions........ running a node does not make the CP network any stronger/weaker... since the entire CP platform rides on top of bitcoin 🙂
-
-
that's why it's called "metaconsensus", the consensus is maintained statelessly by the messages embedded in the blockchain

So if after BCC fork I standup a XCP node on BCC to move my forked counterparty tokens around someone can run their own node years later to verify the TXs were valid since they confirmed automatically on BCC chain... (with small hurdle of BCC miner code needing a patch to run XCP?)
-
yup
-
-
would take a bit of work to get CP to run on BCC.... currently CP requires the addrindex patch https://github.com/btcdrak/bitcoin/tree/addrindex-0.13btcdrak/bitcoin
bitcoin - Bitcoin Core integration/staging tree
-
hmmmm thanks for the info and link
-
Great first community hangout tonight! looking forward to the next one.

Don do it J
-
@jdogresorg CP addies are bitcoin addies. Can will still use them to import BCC?
-
you can take the private key from counterwallet and use it on some website to split your BCC if you wanted
-
but CP won't be adding any functionality to split coins, etc.
-
Bitcoin fork on August 1
Counterparty only runs on BTC, so it will only deal with BTC. Counterwallet allows you to display/view your private keys for any addresses. You should be able to take any counterwallet private keys and use them in an external tool "split" your BTC/BCC... However, this would be done entirely outside of Counterparty/Counterwallet as Counterparty doesn't deal with BCC, only BTC.
-
BTC is crypto god. Many will come, none are chosen, they all will fall. Why are people so blinded.

@MartyMcFlySK it is user activated. What a crock of poop. Lol

XCP-BTC trading on the DEX - Better than centralized exchange?
The DEX is a cost-effective, convenient and low risk way of trading between XCP and BTC. If Alice and Bob agree to trade 10,000 XCP for 35 BTC, they need to do this: Alice places an offer to sell 10,000 XCP for 35 BTC with a very short three block deadline. The protocol escrows 10,000 of Alice’s XCP. Simultaneously Bob places an opposing bid. The protocol matches the orders and gives Bob 20 blocks to make the Bitcoin transfer. Bob makes the BTC transfer. That’s all! Trade is done...
