It is an unofficial privately owned 3rd party site. You can't expect that it will have full features until the owner completes the site and makes that claim.
Even then, questions about that site needs to be directed to them since they are the only one(s) who have any control over it. -

My understanding is that Counterparty permit the creation of "smart contracts" on the Bitcoin platform. As a new company wanting to launch a token/service, what would be the advantages of doing so , instead than using a purposely built chain like Ethereum?

CP has been creating tokens and sending them back and forth for over 4 years rock solid.... no multi-sig wallet hacks... no forks to save lost funds.... no over-complex contracts that result in unexpected results..... just simple functions...1.) create token... 2.) send token between users 🙂

ETH is a cool idea... but if you take a step back and look at what it is really being used for..... really only being used to 1.) create tokens... and 2.) send them back and forth between users...... something Counterparty has been doing rock-solid for many years..... Up to you which platform you choose, but if your looking for something that is easy to use and "just works"... CP is prolly your best path forward 🙂

I know the DEX is not perfect... it has some issues... the primary one being that ppl expect it to operate like a traditional exchange... and are all pissed off when they discover they have to pay fees to list/cancel orders.
