"A Counterparty project maintainer is defined as an individual that has commit access to the (counterparty-lib)[https://github.com/CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-lib] repository, and has made at least one commit in the last nine month period. -
just being honest with you Joe
and I think you know I like you and wouldn’t be gratuitously dissing you -
its weird that me commenting on this is creating such an issue for everyone
-
dan always talking about counterparty weird
-
im experiencing it now
-
im being attacked because i think we can improve your cip
-
-
you never commented pro or con on what is proposed - you asked why not add something different that you are free to do independently
-
-
well maybe the maintainer should weigh in
-
so john i guess
-
-
so you want me to just create an identical cip with an extra sentence?
-
i guess
-
if thats what i have to do to be heard
-
or considered
-
so what's the point of public comment then?
-
just so i know
-
all you want is to add friction to this CIP without getting blood on you hands by trying to make an argument against it which is your usual debating technique
-
for the future
-
not true
-
i'll just create the other CIP i guess
-
-
that other CIP has never been proposed so all you are doing is attempting to add friction to the legitimate one that is on the table
-
jesus
-
i'll just leave you to it
-
still very weird though
-
why not just weigh in on whether you support it or oppose it on a straight up or down basis?
-
i support opening up 1, 2 and 3 if we're going to do anything at all
-
no reason to only go halfway IMO
-
because as you stated, its not a technical issue
-
so if you don’t get 1 and two are you against 3?
-
-
That becomes a technical issue
-
Above 12 is the numeric name space
-
This isn’t rhetoric, not sure why you think it is
-

-
@therealloon3 ☝️☝️☝️
-
Yes I’m against it for the reason that we should limit consensus changes to as few as possible
-
Hard forks mean everyone has to upgrade
-
why?
-
Including exchanges
-
That needs to be coordinated and has potential for issues each time
-
are they never going to upgrade again in your world?
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
Yeah and i took constructive criticism and made changes
-
But those things were combined into a single cip
-
Memo became part of enhanced send
-
Because it made sense to do them simultaneously
-
Ok
-
No problem, I’ll create another cip and perhaps eventually the two will become one
-
I see that you won’t answer my question that i asked you twice
-
What question
-
Yes I’m against it for the reason that we should limit consensus changes to as few as possible
-
This answer?
-
I just think the cip is incomplete
-
But no problem, I’ll create a new one since that seems to be what the process is
-
Ok
-
Nothing matters I guess
-
-
@droplister do you think still having the foundation would be helpful?
-
-
@droplister I see. thanks for your thoughts
-
Sometimes I feel like the usefulness of the project is out of line with the mkt cap and I’m trying to understand why
-
@droplister people don't realize that Vitalik was inspired by XCp to make ethereum

To be fair, Bitcoin fees will go up, if adoption continues/accelerates. As it should. But the alarm was premature.

yea just make the XCP burn higher for those gems.
-
Did you read the link provided above - there are more that back this stance than simply calling it a lie
-
Loving all the dialogue about asset names and 3 extending registration to support 3 letters. I'm in favor.
-
single and double as well?
-
Can't see why not. What is the limit on standard domain registrations. (not that it matters to xcp) ?
-
Also am I right in seeing FreeWallet not supports BTCpays? Haven't tried it out yet but will do so. if so, great work @jdogresorg
-
-
-
-
-
-
Ah right. Make sense. Will have to give this a try out- thanks.
-
I wasn't around when they set the arbitrary limit to four letter asset names only. NASDAQ allows 4 letter tickers. MSFT etc
-
What is with this unlocking feature on freewallet? Are there any blogs or info on it?
-
Ok, so I'm trying to curl the counterpartyd that is now set up, and I'm getting an unauthorized access error with rpc:1234 as the defaults
-
haven't changed anything
-
anyone have any ideas whats up?

Port 4000 and all

Yesterday I tried with Counterparty testnet.I tried to create a numeric token with first issuance of 80,000,000,000. & 786.5 Later received a message that those tokens were created
But in Balance it shows 80,000,000 & 786.5 tokens only.
Why it happened on testnet -
@Needmoney90 Joseph Jeevanand Kommuguri:
Yesterday I tried with Counterparty testnet.I tried to create a numeric token with first issuance of 80,000,000,000. & 786.5 Later received a message that those tokens were created
But in Balance it shows 80,000,000 & 786.5 tokens only.
Why it happened on testnet -
Im not sure what you are asking
-
You made two issuances
-
So you had both added to your balance
-
Second issuance is showing correctly.
But first issuance showed differently. Truncated three zeros. -
First Issuance I created 80,000,000,000 tokens. I got notification for same amount.
But the Balance shows 80,000,000 only
Second issuance is 786.5 & balance is 786.5 is correct -
Can you pull up the tx?
-
Hey guys, just want to let you know your documentation is out of date. All the examples I found for the fednode show the default username/password for counterpartyd are rpc:1234, but in reality the config has them at rpc:rpc
-
might want to get that fixed up
-
Test node transactions. Sending screenshots
-
This one is first issuance
-
hm
-
So, I'm wondering if its due to integer constraints
-
80,000,000,000 is greater than 2^32
-
Until someone more familiar with the protocol gets here, can you make a divisible asset with issuance 100,000,000,000?
-
But balance shows 80,000,000 tokens only instead of 80,000,000,000 tokens in first issuance
-
But the notification says that 80,000,000,000 tokens were issued
-
Ok let someone more familiar with protocol get a here later
Thanks -
/p TestNetPepe has an issue of 1 billion and it is divisible too
- 25 March 2018 (6 messages)
-
A billion is under 2^32
-
aha so making 80 billion is over
-
Yeah, 2^36-2^37
-
Im curious if a 100b can be made
-
Clearly over that amount
-
submit a pull request or create a github issue please and it will get fixed. Thx.

hey how come scientists resigned for rare Pepe submissions?
-
Is there no way to submit a new Pepe?
-
https://pastebin.com/57Tm1rve it was meant to be the number 18 and 00 have powerful Kek numerology behind them so 1800 makes perfect sense to freeze submissionsa letter from the rare pepe scientists - Pastebin.com
Pastebin.com is the number one paste tool since 2002. Pastebin is a website where you can store text online for a set period of time.
-
This will increase the value of everything including pepecash ...
-
-
-
I want to convert all to pepe, but xcp now is too low
-
What happen on xcp
-
Used to be strong
-
Any chance it can go back to 30?
-
100% chance. The amount of time required may be longer than some people's patience though :)
-
yea but doesn't this suppress new good art and relevant world event memes from making it into Pepe directory
-
Why not 1888
-
No new submission. Some that made it before closing are still being added to directory. Its a good thing that submissions are closed. A cap on production is good. We dont need them overly produced like cryptokitties. You want to own rares? There are many who are willing to sale certified assets, balances, and art rights. Also you can buy many at great pricing before value increases and high demand arises. This is really just the beginning for one of the most lucrative and valuable crypto collectible projects out there.
-
-
👍👌
-
I had a submission but didn't get a chance to send it in
-
-
@heunland are Rustbits dead now? I found a boatload of those tokens in my wallet - would love to damp eeet lol

Jesus I hope age of rust actually comes out looks like I've got 1/5th my original BTCUSD value in current rustbits market valuation 😬 spacepirate.io eh

Hey, anyone know what the RPC command for counterpartyd is to get the incoming transactions of an address over a particular block interval?
-
Got it, thanks
-
Xchain.io down?
-
nope
-
-
This on my end? Xchain nor BoO will load for me now. I was earlier!
-
BOO nor IndieSquare were not working for me last night either but RPW and FreeWallet is OK? wierd
-
i just loaded up xchain without issues now. sounds like you have a bad DNS lookup thang going on?
-
Works on VPN now. Who messing with my ish
-
-
-
Hahahaha! BoO even works on VPN too
-
-
-
Anyone around?
-
Just caught up.
-
-
Is XCP set up now to mass send an asset to many addresses with one tx charge
-
-
Issued a token called CANTSMOKEBTC for a video for the song CANT SMOKE A BITCOIN ft. Chris derose and Peter schiff.. first promo music video token I think. Everyone who provably shares the video on social media will receive one
-
Used XCP
-
when pull request acceptance
-
when a dev with commit access reviews the issue and accepts the PR
-
too long, can't you just ignore process and railroad it?
-
🙄
-
nope. I don't have commit access... so nadda I can do.
-
Not a dev either, but what's the pull request entail? @Needmoney90
-
The documentation said the rpc default credentials were rpc:1234, they were rpc:rpc in reality (when I actually set up my own fednode)
-
Not a huge change, just a little text
-
Any hard wallet to store xcp?
-
Oh my bad, I just scrolled up and saw it.
-
Good spot, I'm sure someone will come along and ACK it soon.
-
I've been thinking about CounterParty in relation to domains, and feel the blockchain (XCP assets in particular) are a great fit. Something like namecoin with everything aside from the raw storage/ownership/lookup/ trading of domains externalised. I wonder if anyone else has seen or knows of anyone who explored anything in that particular vein using counterparty?
-
soon... I've done some basic testing in Freewallet with the Trezor and have managed to send an asset to a trezor and send it back.... so yeah, hardware wallet support in freewallet is coming soon.

I made a small utility with a view to being able to use CounterParty assets as a store for decentralised domain vanity URL's, it's pretty basic right now, but if anyone wants to check it out https://github.com/milksheik/CounterParty-domain-querymilksheik/CounterParty-domain-query

fork this, make it dns compliant
-
i'm too bogged down with work rn to make it work
-
-
had to start somewhere basic! would like to incorporate the lookup for memorable dat URL's into beaker, since the resolution is all internal there. Just got linked your counterparty dns project which I was taking a look at, definitely think counterparty is a good fit for some kinda dns system.

Any one hear got some BTC?
-
I didn't hear about it
-
*here I meant. Sorry
-
You got BTC?
-
No, are you offering?
-
why would anyone here have BTC? We only have CROPS and soon to have BITCORN
-
BITCORN>BITCOIN
-
I've got some Pepes to spare for some BTC.
-
Really, did that take off?
-
the 1st harvest is on April 1st!
-
-
It will be raining BITCORN soon 😁
-
we only measure the Corn
-
-
CROPS – XCP DEX
Crops (CROPS:XCP) are arable block spaces suitable for growing Bitcorn on the blockchain. Addresses owning CROPS become bitcorn farms and can harvest Bitcorn, seasonally, until the Winter of 2022. There will only every be 100 CROPS.

@jdogresorg right as I finish up PepeVote v0.1.0 lol
-
Can it sweep addresses correctly?
-
It doesnt sweep. U can just import a private key and use the address like a normal address
-
@jdogresorg you should join @PepeVote
-
-
over at @pepevote there is a really interesting mechanism being developed. I'm told it should work with any xcp assets and will be made opensource after completion. Therefore voting could be weighted by ownership of any asset or collection. This functionality seems very resonate with traditional corporations where stockholders vote where to steer the ship.
For these reasons, I advise you to participate in the development. Please try out the website, and contribute to the discussion by staying on topic. thanks :D - 31 March 2018 (21 messages)

hi guys, erc721 style tokens possible on xcp?
-
i look erc721 alternative on ledger like blockchain
-
iam gas supplier in cylinders. earch cylinder i want mark with nfc id. as service company and cyls owner i want track all movements of cyls between me and my customers. in one supplier company there r per day 50-100 orders with thousands of changing empty cyls to filled. if system work as standart it will be thousands orders per day. isit possible on counerparty layer?
-
-
-
Yes, but you would need to cut the granularity down to every 12 or 24 hours probably
-
Otherwise it would be cost prohibitive
-
Committing the merkle root of the dataset is enough, you dont need anything fancy
-
Just a timestamped chain of custody
-
That is the domain of blockchain analysis companies, and those tend to close up their datasets (as they can then sell access to exchanges, law enforcement, etc)
-
If you create a static list of addresses you want to check against, I can do that
-
So you input a source, and a list of destinations, and my script says whether it got sent to one of those destinations (with an intermediate hop, because of how xcp works on exchanges atm)
-
As far as proactively detecting exchange addresses goes, you're probably out of luck
-
i want use it as standart in my country, because customer can exchange empty cyl to filled with different suppliers
-
centralised
-
token issuer is local centralization in global decentralized network, and its not bad. but i wanna build system where anybody can register equipment with nfc id and can send ownership of token to anyone without censorship
-
with mobile device i can read id of nfc, collect batch to order (batch of empty cyls changing to batch of filled), write order to blockchain where visible how earch id transfered from one owner to another
-
utube id is _Zc06pK97wE
