I am having and issue with the display image on xchain. it dispalys and older image but the link is correct on the lage image link CEOTIMCASH is the asset. I have other people in other places check on it and it dispalys with the same error.

once your token becomes associated with a project, the image that is dispalyed is the image that the project approved... this is so that you can not submit a design, get it approved, and then later change the design.

so... if you want the image updated, talk to the project about getting the project json updated to point to your new image... once that happens let me know and i'll have to remove the image from 5 servers and delete it from the database on 5 servers, then re-run the sync scripts to re-download your updated image and re-generate your icon image...

Ahh damn. That is good for keeping the image from being changed after it has been accepted to the collection to protect collectors. but I had know idea it would be so much trouble after the collection has linked the json to the asset. I am so sorry. but I have not distributed it yet and had to fix a couple things before setting up the dispenser.
I will never do that again. So sorry. I will make sure everything is perfect before adding to a collection. I will contact kaleidoscope. TY and my appologies. -
most directories don't want art changing because it could be switched to unapproved art.
If an artists want to change the art their best move is to issue it via subasset and dividend it to holders imo -
no worries... having to do things on 5 different servers is my fault for not simpllifying the backend infrastructure earlier... so, not a big deal... going forward, should be relatively easy to make such updates on just a single server and have the updates automatically get pushed to the other servers

currently the "lock" feature only prevents issuing additional supply. adding a "freeze" feature would be what? just freezing the asset description from further edits?

I support adding the possibility of permanently locking the asset description. The only way to do this now is to send ownership to a burn address, like i did with salvation. But this also makes it impossible to issue subassets. -

the xchain API is probably the easiest way to integrate XCP in your app... you can make simple web GET requests for any CP data using the asset name, address, transaction hash, etc.

you can also use the CP API, however it works with POST request, so a bit more of a pain.. and CP API uses sqlite internally vs xchain which uses mysql internally (much faster with indexes)

When i ran a script to archive all xcp nfts, most ipfs links were dead. In theory ipfs is perfect but people are using it wrong.
I do it much simpler by pointing to my own website and making sure a hash is included in the URL. One day the url will die but the nft can always be recreated from the hash. The hash is the real address. -

Well I'm attempting to onboard lots of people and launch my ecosystem. I'm finding it difficult to find resources to scale up into a dApp or to get connected with other allies who have dApps. Lack of things means opportunity for growth to me. This is a bear market and we are building. I see Bitcoin as an opportunity for bullish behavior at all times. I think Counterparty can be the catalyst for a bull run. I think we should organize and mobilize as an army.
If games don't exist, someone help me start small. A matching game, tic tac toe, bingo with a lossless lottery. Simple scripts that exist on eth that we can port over.
I'm currently using the Counterparty API and asking ChatGPT for help but that's my best resource for development at the moment. It seems promising ❤️ -

I've been playing around with the Xchain API. There's lots I can do to pull data but how can I verify ownership? I used CounterCord to gate a Discord channel and they required me to use a Broadcast to verify myself. Is this the best way to get someone to verify a wallet?
I'd like to use my NFTs to allow DAO voting. Are there any protocols that currently allow this? How could I build this out? -
To verify wallet ownership you need to have the user sign a message... basically someone gives you their address, you give them some message (piece of text) to sign, they sign it, and give you the message signature... which you can then use to verify that the signature for the address and message is valid... at that point, you know your dealing with someone who has access to the private keys for the address.

A simple solution for preventing people from mistakenly buying XCP fractions is to:
1.) Implement a filter on FW (and other wallets) that only shows "whole" asset dispensers by default. Users would have to de-select "whole assets" in order to find fractions. However, we should allow fractions to be sold and not label people as scammers if they do so.
2.) Sort the default dispensers list on FW by the best price per whole asset, rather than sorting by wallet names. Sorting by wallet names is the worst way to do this, as it is not helpful for buying XCP. -

I changed the art of a xcp asset but the art that shows xchain is still the old one, even when the links are now the new ones. Is this a bug or just something that will solve in some hours ?

XCP is held in escrow by the protocol, and when the oracle broadcasts the results, the winner is automatically paid by the protocol, minus the oracle fee.

No one is operating betting oracles currently... but if your considering it, I encourage you to play around with running some oracles and doing some betting on testnet (testnet.xchain.io)

Hey all. I created a dispenser for COLLABCARD and set the cost to .0024 and it got created for .00239999. Someone tried to buy and we received .00239998. Perhaps this was an error on the purchaser side. I recreated the dispenser for .0024 and it once again became .00239999. Is there something I’m doing wrong? as I would like the dispenser to be .0024 not .00239999. Thank you for any help you can provide. -

I believe this sounds like a known issue in freewallet where occasionally the rounding is "off" and things are rounded down by 1 satoshi... it is on my todo list to fix in the next release.... still bogged down in xchain infrastructure updates currently... once I am done with that, next priority is freewallet-desktop update, then dogeparty release, then dogeparty.xchain.io update, then dogewallet-desktop update... .so, its coming, might just be a few weeks out still tho

Yes, you can bet XCP on oracle feeds. For example that BTC > $20,000 on 31 January. Now, with jdog's feed this should be possible.

And this article wouldn’t help me as well because the writer didn’t mention tx fees and all risks. Sorry, but dispenser is not safe, could you please at least warn newcomers.

that situation can be said/ applies to any transaction that’s prioritised due to higher gas/fees. Not just localised to dispensers.
