Sipher great I will bookmark that site

But what about memo?
-
As it does not take this into account right?
-
-
I see. I will take a look into it.more now.
-
Thanks for the help guys

Hi Shawn, what role will he play with Counterparty please?

Joined.

Santori?
-
none
-
he may consult on a project using Counterparty, but I have no knowledge of this.
-
I didnt respond to the tweet but it was an encouragement of the use of the protocol I assume :) we try to be aware of as many projects as we can. It'd be great if this guy is involved with one but he isnt involved with counterparty.io
-
But decentralized markets are the next logical step in this, Counterparty has been leading for sometime with EtherDelta recently stealing the lime light with the Ethereum money making machine.

Guys, i have a "stuck" transaction, for 2 days now, anything i can do to help it, i tried sending with lowest fee (as it worked fine before) so now it looks like it is "hanging".
-
I also just tried to send a new tranaction from my counterparty walet with memo, but it would not calulate the fee (just hangs) and also got some strange error message.
-
transaction fee does not calculate. Unable to send transaction.
-
i was hoping if i sent a transaction with much higher fee, it would "Bump" the older "stuck" one also ?
-
You're probably sending the memo as hex, you gotta send it as text
-
Aah. I will try, thank you
-
Yeah, no problems when sending this time, has the memo feature been updated by any chance or is the fee varible?
-
Lowest memo fee the other day was 2 Cents. Today $1.74. Wondering if there was a "update" that set a reasonable minimum fee (which i think is a really good idea)
-
try freewallet... it lets you specify a custom fee.
-
Fees are constantly changing based on the amount of traffic/pending transactions on the bitcoin network..... When less ppl want to use the network, you can get fees in for pennies.... When more ppl want to use the network, your fees go up...... You can still pay pennies for a TX, but it won't get processed for a while if the network is busy..... Point is, if you need a transaction to be processed immediately/fast... pay a higher fee reguardless of if it is $1 or $100..... if your transaction doesn't have to take place immediately, then you can pay a few cents for the transaction and just wait a bit.
-
I was sending my memo as a sext.
-
When you say just wait a bit..how long is that?
-
until the mempool emptys out enough that your transaction gets processed.
-
If 1000 people are paying $10 for their transactions to get into blocks... your not going to have much success paying $0.02 and getting it included right away.... but, if you wait a bit, i'll get into a block most times 🙂
-
-
Hi J dog, thank you, that's great, I have much better understanding now, thanks for that, also both transactions came through today
-
I'm a little wary of wallets on desktops, bit the free wallet works like any, you can remove the wallet.dat file and keep a back up? In case say my laptop was stolen of something?
-
So,.mempool is a place that shows you how many transactions are backed up?
-
And on avg there are about (enter number here) transactions per day?
-
Thanks for link, nice graphs, clear to see on the 29th things got super hectic/busy.
-
So, in future I can check there first to give me an idea of why there might be a delay with transactions.
-
You SHOULD be wary of all wallets... so no offense taken by being wary of Freewallet.io..... the desktop version allows you to enter your 12-word passphrase, it is then encrypted and stored on your computer... there is no wallet files for anyone to attack/download... the only time your wallet would be at risk is when it is unlocked (as the private keys / HD seed would be in memory)... so, pretty secure 🙂
-
Fantastic, great to hear. Yeah I was not in any way worried about freewallet, I know that's 100% trusted.
-
You can just check the network information on xchain.io.... unconfirmed... first number is # of bitcoin transactions pending... sencond number is # of CP transactions pending
-
-
I meant, in general, but with this type of wallet, say my computer "went missing" I could easily recover wallet on any other computer.
-
Wow it says $10 a low fee?
-
On avg?
-
As long as you have the 12-word passphrase, your good to go... you can login to counterwallet, indiesquare wallet, freewallet, etc etc
-
that is per k.. kilobyte.. so 1000 bytes
-
Great.
-
Ooh per kb
-
a typical CP send is around 250 bytes... so 1/4 the cost
-
Great I was just about to ask that 😁
-
Perfect.
-
Really good to know.
-
It's vital I know and learns these things.
-
"Low" fee is 75% chance of getting in next 2 blocks
-
I like to also be able to help other people like me.
-
"optimum" fee is 75% chance of getting it next block
-
Still a good percentage.
-
so... you can obviously pay way way lower... like $0.01... and then just wait a few hours/days 🙂
-
My other fee was two cents, even with big spike, it did arrive just under 48hrs
-
Perfect.
-
I need to rework the fees on xchain.... but not high priority right now... working on the exchange interface for freewallet and the xchain.io APIs that are needed to support it 🙂
-
Thanks Jdog. I love it when people can explain things clearly. Really great. Big thanks. 👍
-
Exchange interface?
-
Like dex?
-
Inside the wallet?
-
yes.... download freewallet.io desktop... and click the 'Exchange' tab 🙂
-
-
building a dex interface very similar to poloniex's trading interface.... and will have support for auto-signing BTC orders on the dex when orders match.... which will make using BTC on the DEX much easier.
-
Wow, then the only thing I'd want to suggest and would make the life of many people easier and get a lot more users to the wallet, the prices in Satoshi BTC also please.
-
yeah, all that extra bells and whistles (language, themes, local currency, denomination, etc) will be added after I get the main stuff done
-
Sounds great, I need to be able to see prices quickly and that I understand without having to try and work out the conversion
-
Thanks Helene, I will lend a BTC donation that you can convert into xcp if you like
-
Best of luck Jdog, really great sounding wallet.
-
-
with freewallet you can specify custom fees... and see the amount in USD, etc 🙂
-
And it's possible to label destinations and easily select them from notebook right?
-
(I did spy a note book there)
-
-
Way back when I was trying to use dex and buy tokens it was too much to try and work out how much I was paying so I stopped using it.
-
address book is a 'coming soon' feature as well
-
Good idea murat!
-
Merged folding distribution?
-
-
You lost.me at "merged"
-
Great, address books are a good send
-
-
Lots to take in, so I will call it a night, movie time here.. the autopsy of Jane doe 😁
-
Thanks once again for all the help
-
I'll do freewallet tomorrow and check it out.
-
-
Thanks everyone. PS. Send me a BTC donation address.
-
Happy Halloween
-
Thanks Helene bookmarked it.
-
I see. Will definitely bring it up with the team, thank you
