i guess ultimately the understanding of "fungibility" comes down to the state of reality being referenced. Objective reality of the math is that UTXOs are not interchangeable. Contrarily, being restricted to a subjective reality means a bitcoin is a bitcoin.
Furthermore, if two parties are attempting communication and one refuses to see beyond face value, then the burden of patience lies with the party which can see both sides of the coin.

segwit dispeners now work (cheaper tx fees).... creating dispensers on new/emtpy addresses works (saves txs transferring assets over and setting up dispeners... all takes place in one tx)... plus a bunch of other misc updates that makes things parse faster and make things much more stable :)

Hi all,
Long time CP user here. Having a weird and frustrating thing happen.... Recently, when logging in to most CP wallets, using the same 12 word seed i've been using for 6 yrs, the wallet doesn't default/can't find the address with my assets on it.... However, if i use a block explorer and search that address, my assets show on the explorer. It's like my wallet is not defaulting to show addresses with assets..... I'm confused..... Sorry if this doesn't make sense.... -
It's been suggested to - create a new wallet and maybe it will be the one w the assets. If that doesn't work, keep trying. That can't be correct.... Rumor has it, this bitcoin thing can generate a lot of wallet addresses.... lol.
Has anyone else run into this before? REmedies? -
are you sure your spelling your words correctly and they are in the same exact order? the wallet addresses are deterministic... so the same passphrase entered in the wallet today should access the same addreseses in the future..... I would verify that all your words are correct and in the correct order... also... just a helpful piece of info i've found... write down your private keys in all cases.... that way if for some reason the 12-word passphrase doesn't access your addresses like your expecting, at least you have the private keys to the individual wallet addresses

No method, minimum fair price would be burn value, $35-$40. I think a fairer price is $80 to $100 based on ICO and history.

Polo and bittrex hold about 3-400k XCP. I think an exchange will want to list XCP when they have a big bag. So if and when those coins become available, it will be interesting to see who grabs them.

No one really knows, but when they delisted XCP, they sent XCP holders a notice that if they didn’t withdraw before X date, they would forfeit their XCP.

A lot of it is forfeited XCP I believe. Legally they are not allow to claim ownership of forfeited coins so technically, it either belongs to the users or the us government.

There were recently upgrades to the protocol as well as freewallet.io desktop version. You may find savings in using segwit for dispenser. Otherwise normal Bitcoin transaction fees apply like before, unless you bundle sends, however the destinations have to already be in use by the system, afaik

100% agree.... find an exchange with a reasonable listing fee (0.1 BTC sounds reasonable).... i'll be happy to create a donation address specifically earmarked for an exchange listing..... once we reach the goal, can release the funds to the exchange.... I am happy to create a donation address and hold the funds (as I have done in the past with all CIPs).... just don't have the time/desire to reach out to exchanges right now.... but happy to help support the effort.

Not really. The cost is about the same as any other project where they have an actual blockchain that needs to be parsed in.

You can sell your XCP by either placing an order on the Decentralized EXchange (DEX), or you can setup a dispenser (vending machine) to sell your XCP for BTC.

Yes, however buying something with BTC on the DEX requires you to leave your wallet open to automatically sign BTC-pay transactions when your BTC buy order matches with someone.... currently freewallet.io is the only wallet that works with BTC on the DEX

counterwallet loads many addresses at once and doesn't support using BTC on the DEX... freewallet.io loads a single address at a time, has a nice DEX and dispensers interface, and support using BTC on the DEX (Auto-BTCpay and manual BTCpay).... then again, I am biased... I wrote freewallet.io cuz I really didn't like the interface of counterwallet 🙂

IMO... the biggest priority for the CP community should be focusing on getting a Virtual Machine (VM) working on Counterparty... will be a big undertaking, but would put XCP back up same level with ETH functionality wise, people would be able to write their own code and execute on the BTC blockchain.... devs would come around and write some cool tools like uniswap, and then we are off to the races and people can build whatever they want..... as much as I love Counterparty's rock solid hard-coded features (send, dividend, order, etc), I think we need to create a sandbox for people to play around in on Counterparty.... a Virtual Machine would allow devs to do just that, play around, create new things, etc....
