sent some bitcoin out of freewallet not realizing how many inputs I had, so the fee rate turned out to be very, very low. I'm sceptical it will ever confirm. How long before freewallet will let me give it another go with a higher fee? Right now it still shows full balance but throws an error if I try and send the bitcoin again. -
You can download electrum and import the private key and do a double-spend on the utxos by creating another tx using the same utxos…. The one with the higher fee will confirm first, making the other tx invalid cuz the utxos it’s trying to use are already used

there's no such thing as "the mempool". it may be purged in a few weeks or a few months. each node operator uses different settings. even if most purge it, some miners can still have it in their mempool and add it to a block. -

i think thats a great idea, an idea i had but never got round to doing it which think be cool is showing what assets you can get from the dispenser. could have a slider (or input box) for how much they could theoretically send, and it show what they'd get from it if they send that amount... i.e multiple of same asset, or all the assets they'd get if it had multiple assets on the one dispenser. -

is there a convienient way in counterparty api for me to look up messages relating to a specific txhash?
the only way I have found requires a few hits to the api and can only interpolate some sends via the unpack method..... or does anyone know how i would manually unpack? -
Is the private key written in the level db file or how exactly did you recovered the missing wallet with "false" in the private key tab? -
Scroll up chat to see how they did it. Or if you use multiple seeds with edit: freewallet, try to search the addy with false key in the other seeds, that could also be a cache issue. address>change address > search first few letters of address and see if it displays the private key.

yea i read all that but wanted to ask from first hand experience without touching my wallet files if thats the case and the private key is written in db file that can be extracted, would be kind of a security risk is someone has local or remote access to your computer

We will be working on implementing "Trusted Dispensers" in the coming weeks which should help address this issue, tho we already throw a warning in freewallet anytime someone tries to buy from a dispenser selling less than 1.0 of a token... so we are already doing a decent job of trying to warn people against these "scammers"

Trusted dispensers will help alleviate this issue as well by allowing dispenser operators to verify their operation of a dispenser and tie it to a social media account.... after which point we will have TRUSTED dispensers where we know who is operating the dispenser and have some contact info... and untrusted dispensers... scammers will continue to try and use untrusted dispensers to scam funds, but most people will start using TRUSTED dispensers because the operators have validated their info and self-identified some contact info to get in contact with them

there is no perfect solution... no magic bullet to solve all issues... every protocol change will result in additional issues being raised (for instance, if we prevent closing a dispenser while a dispense is pending, then we prevent asset owners from closing their dispensers when they want to..... like in the case where they accidentally price an item too low and then want to close the dispenser..... with a protocol change to not allow that, any mistake on the dispenser operators part would be pretty permanent)

Is it a possibility to make the XCP/BTC exchange better? It is quite messy at the moment. If you put in an order there and miss the buy, your order will turn into a bid, which you can leave in or cancel if you want to. Your assets are not gone.

BTC can not be escrowed by the Counterparty protocol, so the DEX BTC experience is as good as it can get while still being trustless..... that is why dispensers were created, to make using BTC on CP have much less friction... send a single payment, get a token credited back

TRUSTED DISPENSERS is the best solution but is it possible to CLOSE the FRICTIONAL dispensers like GIVE AMOUNT of 0.1 or so OR is it possible to put these INSIDE expensive dispensers at the bottom in order of actual HIGH price..? -
I wish if it can be in ASCENDING ORDER like an exchange whether fractional or not, one would be sure that the TOP dispenser is the lowest one ..

This is the lazy scam which I think is quickly falling out of use anyways as people become more aware. The race condition scams are far more problematic.

I’ve already created a structure that has 11 character names using a json file URL that is 52 characters. 12 character names will be 53. I host my own files and would prefer to keep them all consistent as they are part of a project. Had previously read there was not a 52 character limit.

try setting the minimum tx fee to 5000 sats in settings->preferences.... then try the multi-send again... could be a case of your first tx not getting relayed because too cheap of a tx fee

we just put out an update last night which fixes some issues with mpma to make it more stable sending up to 1000 assets and reduce the tx fees paid in data encoding by like 50%+.... I still have to make some updates to freewallet when I return from bora bora next which should make adjusting the fee on the first MPMA tx much more straightforward than having to go in and manually adjust the minimum tx fee in settings->preferences->minimum fee

I think if you read 14 characters for a named asset that info is out of date. I think originally it was 14 but then it was changed to 12. So you can only create a 12 character named asset. Where did you read it?

at one point the system allowed up to 14 character asset names, then the founders lowered the limit to 12 to allow for numeric asset space.

you should only setup one dispenser at a time on an address unless your meaning to sell multiple tokens at the same time from multiple dispensers..... a single BTC payment to an address can trigger multiple dispensers... so only setup one dispenser per address unless you know what your doing

you can re-use dispenser addresses as much as you would like.... just make sure only one dispenser is setup on the address

re-using dispenser addresses requires you to have the BTC and asset you want to dispense in the address itself, then open the dispenser from that address..... you can only open a dispenser on a DIFFERENT/NEW address if the address has never been used before.

this never worked for me. The wallet (or the API) complains that I can't open a dispenser on an address with transaction history. Even when the previous dispenser is already inactive.

Hey guys, somebody knows what happens if a token was created with issuance 0? It’s not showing up in my freewallet. I can search for the asset on xchain and it shows my address as owner but not showing up in my address. Do i need to give it an issuance higher then 0 that it’s visible for me? Thanks for info!

Just manually navigate to the market in freewallet desktop wallet….. type asset1/asset2 into the search box on the exchange tab and click the search icon

For the market to show up in the xcp list, gotta actually execute a trade…. Just set a buy and sell order at the same price

True it appears on the list, but it should be all the way at the bottom. Where the scam is revealed as such. Not at the top, pretending to be cheap.

The DEX doesn't work with BTC very well. Hence XCP and Pepecash.
Both of these assets have liquidity, issues, compared to BTC and are often hard to get at the prices needed to move big frogs. -
