@jdogresorg Could you shed some light on how the xcp OPscript works ik XCP, I'm trying to figure it out but I can't get it to work.
-
I've been reviewing the code and I think the script construction could be done client side, then relayed to the node, so it would be easier and it wouldn't overload the backend with the script construction.
-
@jdogresorg This would improve security because if nodes are compromised, there would be a DDoS. If we allow script construction to occur client-side, it will be more decentralised and secure.

this is very true, I believe this is what rarepepewallet.com does
-
hi, basically CP will use OP_RETURN everytime the size of the data needed to encrypt is under 70 bytes and P2SH when the data is bigger.
to encrypt data in a OP_RETURN, CP creates a 81 bytes of data with the CP magic word and the serialization of the command -
the serialization is a little complex to explain it here, but you can see it on serliazer.py, on the function serialise
-
sorry, serializer.py
-
It would be great if in the doc we could have a CIP describing how the scripts and OPreturn work.
Following the standard similar to:
https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0199.mediawiki
This will make it easier for devs to help create new tools.bips/bip-0199.mediawiki at master Ā· bitcoin/bipsBitcoin Improvement Proposals. Contribute to bitcoin/bips development by creating an account on GitHub.

definitely, i can tell š . I totally agree, we need more docs
-
It would help, but I can't document what I don't understand.
-
Let's put it in docs.counterparty.io and use @Counterparty_Dev for that
-
I will pay 200USD in Bitcoin. If someone wants to claim the reward they must document the bitcoin script from xcp assets, to create a proper TX. It must include a reproducible test.
I will let some dev from the github repo to scrow the 200 usd in bitcoin. any devs volunteering ? -

hey guise if i have the problem where i have BTC but it complains of having no spendable balance.... its usually an input thing right?... what the way to work around this - I cant recall
-
you need to send ALL bitcoin to yourself (because there is lots of dust)
-
ok so, do a send to my own addy of all my balance...
-
all the remains left over of Bitcoin are gathered there in your address, you see them as one balance but they arnt, unless they get sent as one transaction and compine
-
to make one nice input
-
thank you confirmation.
-
for example you bought 0.10 Bitcoin sent 0.095 away leaving 0.005, they add up eventually
-
as you put more in
-
so when you send 0.05 - its sees lots of little chunks rather than a whole number
-
if you cant use freewallet to send it - think you need to use the electrum version, but Ive not used that yet
-
yes i understand the inputs build-up issue, but i wanted to be sure of the solution before i advised any action... and i coulnt remem, ber if you could do it with less balance (the wallet in question is suprisingly large for the issue.... and sadly not mine lol)
-
Thank you very much again.
-
how is this different from sending it to another address?
-
can send it to another address if you want to - then you will have no bitcoin
-
but sending it all, sends all the small pieces and returns it as one piece
-
I didnt make Bitcoin take it up with satoshi

If you choose to use a XCP dispenser not from this list, always perform your own DD first, as scams abound.
What is a 'verified' dispenser?
XCP dispensers are verified using the below criteria (feel free to suggest improvements):
- owner is a trusted OG member, or has been dispensing XCP for 60+ days, with no reported issues
- owner is reachable in case of issues and reponds within 24 hours
- source address is not associated to a known scammer address
Dispenser owners, please DM me to register/verify yours -
im unable to send large outgoing tx, but can send small amounts
-
I have been using electrum to gather all the little bits, into one bit.
-
open electrum desktop, create private keys type wallet (I think it gives you 3 options of wallets)
-
then go to freewallet and copy your private key
-
go back to electrum, import private key.
-
now.
-
in electrum. go to SEND tab
-
here you will paste wallet address (from where you took private key)
-
paste in the BTC address from free wallet, in electrum.
-
send all.
-
cheers for this - ive got about $50 worth that I cant move either :)
-
then log out of freewallet. give it a few mins and log back in and wait for transaction to say "valid".
-
then you should be able to send.
-
...
-
I just done this with 60 freewallet addresses
-
I took all the dust from each wallet and sent to one wallet.
-
so in this case. you simply import private key, and then in send.. THIS TIME you enter the wallet address to send all dust to. (and not send it back to same wallet)
-
it's easy once you have done it a few times.
-
haha word. will give it a shot
-
now all my wallet are 100% clean. and all sent to one main.
-
tomorrow I will post some screenshots of exactly how to do it. š
-
all the best. š

Script for a send transaction?
I've made this, https://jpja.github.io/Electrum-Counterparty/
Client-side js -
Not the script, just documenting the bitcoin script as it is done in this BIP.
