* 1 xcp for regular asset
Regular asset needs high fee to discourage name squatting. No such concern for sub and numeric. These should only have a tiny fee to discourage DB spam. -

the 12 word seed gets you to privateKey - privateKey will gen all the other wallets by adding 1 to derivation path sequentially (if iI have it right). hope that gets you to where you need to be.

If you create one wallet then generate a couple of public addresses with it I believe it would be the same private key for all of them

that is something that has to be agreed upon by the community bro.,..... you know this... cant just decide something is a good idea and fund a developer, need to get community consensus that this is a good idea and how to best implement it...... I think it is best to wait until we get the Virtual Machine (VM) working in Counterparty... then we can do all sorts of features like this without having to make protocol updates for every tweak 🙂

The capability you are suggesting isn't compatible with the way the core tech works. What you can do much, much easier is to create a platform that implements a buyers premium people happily pay for the convenience / piece of mind. Examples are scarce.city and PPS

Everything else that's even remotely feasible requires a lot of work and even more important (tough to get consensus on) are new standards.

I simply don't see it happening anytime soon, if ever. My own preference for full ownership put aside, this simply doesn't feel right for many. Additionally, it's not feasible from a technical perspective imho.

I also think the royalties thing would be hard to implement, atleast in the way of % of how much someone's paying for it.
The only way I could see it feasable is having a senders fee on a token, this value would have to be in XCP or another asset possibly. And maybe the possibly to turn off the fee/lower it by the creator of the asset.
And each time you sent the asset it would send that much xcp to the creators address, and can't be sent if you don't have the fee available to send the asset.
This also gets a bit messier with the dispensers and dex, still doable but becomes a bigger job. -

It's a simple matter of "not your keys, not your pepe". Royalties don't fit to that formula. That's why we happily pay premiums for BTC NFTs. We want to actually own them. 100%, fully. Everything else is ethereum, full stop.

Look into divisible assets, lighting (streaming art), subassets and eventually dividends to reward holders with future additions.

You present as facts what isn't. Some artists made money, but they are rarely technical. Additionally, counterparty used to be close to dead only months ago. There are better, more convenient technologies to issue assets on. Just my 2c

I don't think it would be easier to implement a flat fee royalty than it would a percentage. The same challenges are there for both methods. If you can do one, the other is likely trivial. We could even have both options.

Yes, I know it's possible to make a centralized custodial platform where I can enforce royalties within my walled garden like OpenSea does. That's not what I want.

Nothing. Royalties feature would be limited to dispenser and/or dex sales. If someone wraps it and sells on OpenSea, I guess they manage to get around it.

I don't need royalties for every obscure edge case. Yes, you can pass an open dime hand to hand. Fine. 90% of the people won't fly out to meet each other in a Walmart parking lot to avoid a reasonable fee.

I was suggesting you could circumvent a royalty payment by trading a private key .. and using a opendime means no trust is needed ...
also how could counterparty know if its a self transfer and not a sale ? -
