Keep hitting add new address, until it pops back up. FreeWallet will sometimes disappear all addresses if you close it out. When you log back in, you have to hit add new address until you get back to a fresh. It keeps address 14 as 14, 37 as 37 … so just keep hitting add new until your addresses are reconstructed in your wallet.

I noticed it happens quite often with multiples of 9. It is not inconvenient at all. You can now buy 1 at 0.009 and don't have to add 1 satoshi. 2 item is 0.018 and 3 for 0.027.

Most of the groups sounding The Counterparty platform go nowhere fast due to the fact there are very few with discipline and follow through yet plenty of egotistic maniacs who look to get their egos stroked even if they have to do it themselves. oh yeah... CP has a long history... the "other" channel is run by a guy who was formerly on the CP foundation as a community director... I voted to elect him, let him setup the telegram group and manage it.... when it came time for re-elections, he was not re-elected, and used the opportunity to hold the Counterparty channel for ransom and said he would only release it to us if we paid him a bounty for it...... Clearly we refused, started up a new chat room "Official Counterparty Chat" and just started ignoring the old room.... it is drama that happened years ago... unfortuntae that some people are still in that channel and that THAT is their first exposure to CP.... they dont really support anyone or answer any questions

nope.... CP stats are lacking... there was a site xcpfox.com that had a bunch of decent stats for a while, but it stopped running a few years ago...

this is a great area for a potential site... being able to see exactly how much volume is flowing through dispensers and orders would be great

does Freewallet use BIP39 so I can just store first 4 letters in metal cold wallet or do I need to store the entire world? if not, we are recommended cold storage options for pass phrase? ty.

freewallet by default uses a special wordlist that predates BIP39..... I added support for BIP39 in freewallet when your creating/importing a wallet passphrase.... but, I would advise against using a BIP39 passphrase, as it will not be portable to other CP wallets cuz the wordlist is different

i already used Free wallet to create phrases so im non-BIP39

you should be able to store just the first 4 characters just like BIP39.... only difference is the wordlist is a bit different

you "SHOULD" be able to just enter the first 4 characters of the word.... but with the wordlist, you should be able to write a quick script that will loop through all the words and verify if the first 4 characters appear in any duplicate words

Going to put a suggestion out there. Maybe it's something already in development. There should be a way to make the Description field of an asset only visible to those that own the asset. The problem this solves in Counterparty, is that of the "unlockable". Rare Pepe wallet did it right, by doing it at the UX level on rarepepewallet. This could be a box that's ticked at the time of an asset's creation, and/or new type of transaction that'd convert or enable "unlockable" functionally at an address. "Make description field unlockable". I say the Description field, because that's how art assets are primarily shared. But yeah, maybe there's a better way to do unlockables on Counterparty. I only went to coding bootcamp. They only taught us how to plug and play.

When I’m using orders in freewallet “Exchange” and trying trading xcp for btc..
After filling an existing order transaction confirms, but nothing happens
I kno I can cancel da order, but how do I complete da trade?

if your BUYING with BTC then you need to use auto-btcpay when you place the buy order in freewallet, and you need to leave your wallet open to listen for order matches so that your wallet can send the BTC within 20 blocks

if your SELLING something for BTC... you gotta just place your sell order, and wait for a.) an order match and b.) the person on the other side of the order match to send the BTC within 20 blocks.

using BTC on the DEX is a bit more complex than using just a normal asset or XCP..... that is why dispensers were created... to make buying things with BTC a single transaction.... send BTC, get token back in a single tx

How does this happening if I’m choosing existing orders when filling mine?

thinking I might add some additional fields to the enhanced asset info spec to support DNS, address aliases (JDOG = 1JDogZS6tQcSxwfxhv6XKKjcyicYA4Feev), and of course, better spec for images/audio/video.

The other advantage is just the straight up simplicity. I have no doubt that John's approach is probably superior but it seems like a lot more code and infrastructure would be needed to get it started. The PoC that Mario created was done in a couple hours.

Since i'm about ready to start work on an enhanced asset info spec for CP.... seems like it might be a good time to discuss putting this data into a enhanced JSON spec (DNS info, email aliases, address aliases, standardized format for images/videos/audio/etc) ..... granted, would take one extra step (to request the JSON data from the asset), but IMO this is a much better way to stuff a bunch of asset metadata into CP versus trying to cram custom URLS and such into the asset description... but, just my $0.02... not bagging on this implementation, it looks cool.... just wondering if we can come up with something more standardized..... we might want to consider writing a quick JSON caching tool to make serving out asset JSON info easy/fast (without having to send external request to get JSON to some website and wait many seconds for DNS to resolve, HTTP request to complete, etc..... perhaps a JSON caching side-component in fednode (similar to addrindexrs) could help solve this issue 🙂

When I tried to use dex on my mac with freewallet 9.22 I get this error "Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden)"

Any suggestions to resolve this?

something on your network must be blocking normal requests to xchain

try adding an exception to your firewall for freewallet... or perhaps try getting on a VPN and see if that resolves your issue

wallet is working fine... the failed to load a resource is an error specific to your request

Firewall is turned on and all freewallet incoming connections are not blocked. so still wondering...

will try the VPN suggestion

click freewallet icon... then click debug button... that will pull up a debug console

if all is running fine, you should see no red lines in console

if you see red lines, stuff is being prevented from making network requests normally
