Setting up a dispenser for the first time. Warning notice given to not use a wallet commonly used. Is this just a cya tactic for counter party or should I create a new wallet and move things over there to create a dispenser?

It's not necessary to create a new wallet for the dispenser- but highly recommended. Especially if you plan on doing more than one dispenser.
There is no need to move anything to the new wallet- it will be used as escrow for the dispensed assets. You specify this new wallet address created when you make the dispenser. -
the warning message tells you exactly why you SHOULD NOT be using addresses you commonly use

so that you dont accidentally use the address and send it some BTC (like withdraw from an exchange) and then accidentally trigger a dispense

I do my best to try and exlain why there is a warning message showing.... tho many ppl just click "OK" without taking the time to read the warning message (can onyl do so much to protect people... if they can't / dont read warning messages, not much we can do)

I'd like to promote the idea that the best protocols change infrequently! I've been a fan of Counterparty since the initial burn, so I'm coming from a place of wanting to see this thrive.
Let's make fewer, more significant changes (like when the VM gets added) but IMO we should try to avoid pushing out new versions with every new feature that comes down the pike. A protocol that changes every month is not reliable, and that lack of stability makes it far from ideal for devs. Just my .02 -
Did you read the spec? It’s a proposal for json file formatting…. Not a code change in CP protocol….. and I tend to agree with you on new versions, which is why there are so few releases, and they include lots of updates. 😀👍🏻

yes I read it and commented on counterpartytalk.org. Sure seems like media descriptors should be first class properties of assets, especially as they're gaining more importance and functionality over time.
Maybe we should reflect this prioritization by dedicating a field for media descriptors (including JSON file like current) and free up the description field for actual descriptions or hashes. -
which would unnecessarily bloat the CP database and make the CP database run slower... versus using the method the founders gave us for associating information with tokens via JSON.

There have been ppl who have burned XCP tokens in order to get some token on ETH (like projects moving off XCP to ETH years ago).... but i'm not aware of any projects where you burn ETH NFTs in exchange for XCP NFTs... could be a 1st 😛

Just installed new version of freewallet on a freshly wiped Mac (OS High Sierra, v10.13.6) and for some reason it opens the application but no window pops up. Have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, restarting computer, updating software, etc with no luck. Anyone know how to solve this problem? -
Dispenser question with respect to paying dividends:
Example:
I have created 100 'X' tokens. I personally hold 25, 25 are held by other wallets, and 50 are in a dispenser unclaimed.
If I then distribute dividends of 1 XCP to all holders, am I then sending 25 XCP to MYSELF, 25 XCP (total) to all other holders, AS WELL AS 50 XCP to those held in the dispenser?
Further, can one pay out dividends to specific token holders even if they didn't create the original token? (For example, could I pay dividends of 1 XCP to all holders of RAREPEPE, etc?) -
Dividends exclude the issuing address from the distro…. And dividends only pay out to holders (balances)…. So if token is escrowed in dex order or dispenser, it’s excluded from the distro

Is it okay if there are spaces separating the comma values in multi send? I made a big tx and it says it went trhough on freewallet side but it's not showing up onchain in either xchain or blockstream.info so I'm wondering what is the matter...

Multisends can be finicky and get hung up if you don’t send with high enough fees. If you don’t see the transaction in the mempool/blockstream/xchain … it’s likely it didn’t actually go through and you’ll need to resend with higher fee.
