Counterparty Community!
I personally think Counterparty needs an Official Community Manager that would have the following duties:
- Update Counterparty Docs to create a thorough text and video FAQ for Counterparty and Freewallet functions
- Work with Community to showcase and track ideas for more "ease of use" upgrades and UI fixes for Freewallet.
- Answer any questions and issues from users regarding Counterparty and Freewallet here in this chat
- Develop a monthly Counterparty Newsletter for https://counterparty.io/news/
- Create a monthly official Counterparty Community Twitter Space and invite members of this community to join
- Create an official Counterparty Historical Timeline on Counterparty.io to demonstrate our history and achievements
- Show it all off by being more active and engaging on the Official Counterparty Twitter
The first time duties for this position was written out was from Jdog about 6 years ago, so I wrote up a new job duties draft that I think may be more up-to-date for this position.
Any and all community feedback, extra ideas, or possible changes to what a potential Counterparty Community Manager position would look like would be awesome to hear!

Financing it is the key problem.
Maybe there is a way to gather funds while also attracting interest to CP?
Perhaps issue a special limited edition CP token or NFT........
Given the recent meteoric rise and subsequent crash of the ETH-pepe/wojak ripoff coins, perhaps a CP token or EFT series that mocks them mercilessly would be timely and entertaining? (all sales funds going to finance CP work).
Historically, the CP/rarepepe crew always have had the best memes/NFTs...... - 13 June 2023 (17 messages)

I agree, Though I think even a small portion of funds could give us some much needed upgrades to counterparty.io especially if we have some quality work done for tutorials and FAQs. After that the community could act more efficiently as an arm of resource linking to official Docs and Github links for simple fixes. I think it would help the new user experience significantly.
Maybe that fosters some traction and support from the community after some initial showcase. Just wrote my idea of things, but I want to hear what other opinions on what is most important to do with limited time and funds we may raise for the cause. -
My main thought of this approach was official Counterparty involvement with already awesome community members. Which could help drive timid users who heard about it once, or new "lurkers" to now have a quite higher chance to be formally educated before they dive in to anything Counterparty related.
Whether it be people looking to buy from a dispenser, or someone looking to stamp, broadcast, create tokens, learn about real world uses etc, , all can eventually have a deep rabbit hole of information and history to dive into and experiment with.
Also some of the showcase of history of 'first token minted' or 'first project on counterparty', highest all time sales, newest popular counterparty functions etc. could influence some new ideas and future projects in the space from people just finding out about the rich history of Counterparty. -
-
In my opinion its not about when new users come to Counterparty, it's about their first experience researching the project. I think most don't come here and chat. They see how much information they can gather about what the project does, and has done. I think what is important is that they are treated well and have clear and updated official documentation to do (or learn to do) what they wished to do when they showed up. Being in a clear and operative state of informing people when new users do flood in is important, not trying to guess when they do
-
I think we have a quite large and very different set of members and projects here that may influence all types of people. Let's showcase that and showcase the history of all they have done while making sure new users get a little bit more help than maybe some us did when we started
-

Gm frens.
I have a question around the speed of counterparty. I’ve created a stamp few hours ago but it still hasn’t been created. Also the data in the assets list on xchain is the same for hours. Is the slow process related to some updates or just a congestion on the chain? -
Share your txid. You probably didn't pay enough.

I think I did it the right thing, it was done through the stampchain tool, and it was cheaper than doing it manually so It was a bit strange it is usually more expensive. But I’ll let you check so I know where is the problem.
-
Oh, interesting. It's confirmed.
-
Some other users also shared that they’re waiting for like a 2 days already

So maybe is stampchain to xchain thing

We’ll wait and see

This tx is NOT a Counterparty transaction….
https://blockstream.info/tx/3a322084d3035a7184bbc2ed5b2dbbc81809b54209354d034093a492f2a20698
Looks more like a payment from an exchange wallet…. Single input, a bunch of outputs… definitely not a CP tx.
Prolly this is the tx of your payment to stamp chain minting service…
Please ask in stamps channel about stamping tx issues…. This is Counterparty channel, not stamps support channel.Blockstream Block ExplorerBlockstream Explorer is an open source block explorer providing detailed blockchain data across Bitcoin, Testnet, and Liquid. Supports Tor and tracking-free.
-
Anytime you hear “stamp”, prolly best to refer them back to Bitcoin Stamps channel…. N not waste any effort looking up stamps related issues.
The Bitcoin Stamps team are earning $$$ through their minting services… so, let the stamps team support their own community n answer stamp support questions. -
-
Sure thing, I ask there as well, and other users experienced it as well. And yes I asked them because it is through their tool and it was cheaper than manually creating the asset.
Anyways, the only reason I posted here was because on xchain there are only 4 assets created in the last 12 hrs and 3 of them are stamps, so I thought it was counterparty problem. -
Thx for asking there first … fyi a good way to check if xchain is parsing things fine is to check the latest block parsed at https://xchain.io/blocks
-
Your tx prolly stuck in mempool… over 1000 pending cp txs
-
Thanks for the advice. I usually use the coutnterparty wallet and is all good, and really fast, but I was surprised, I've experienced the same delays when the Stampunks were minting ages ago.
But anyways, not to take anymore of your time, thanks for taking a look and thanks for the advice. -
So stamps are not counterparty now?
-
Stamps are on Counterparty… but seems like most of the support questions in here recently are stamps related… so, just directing stamps ppl to ask questions to the stamps projects.
This specific tx was not a CP tx.
If there are issues with cp or xchain, we def want to hear about them…. Just don’t want to spend already limited support time answering stamps specific questions.
No stamps hate, just directing stamps questions to stamps project… just like we do for rarepepe, bitcorns, SOG, etc.👍🏻 -
Try ASS much cheaper, you can mint any size and has own tool to mint coming this week which is instant and built with Counterparty so you will get support!
-
Would you mind sending docs, i can take a look

Helloo
-
I wanted to ask
-
this market https://xchain.io/market/BTC/RAREAIRDROP
-
the buy order should show up on the "exchange" tab on freewallet
-
is that correct? as I cant see them.
-
using the XCP DEX Ticker for BTC is not advised, though is possible. What is advised is to use the dispenser tab on the page https://xchain.io/asset/RAREAIRDROP to see what listings are up to buy with btc
-
we are getting many scammers into dispensers
-
we have planned an exchange of two counterparty tokens
-
the thing is that some user will like to sell some tokens for BTC
-
as far as i know from the buyer side it should be a problem if he keeps his wallet open during the dex trade
-
on the seller side they need to have the wallet open for the trade to be complete
-
am i right?
-
is there any other issue here?
-
I´m trying to write a guide for Stamps/xcp assets and xcp/btc based on all the resources i found
-
there is a guide for using token/xcp markets rn - https://docs.counterparty.io/docs/wallets/counterwallet-tutorials/dex-trade - At the moment I'm looking for some documentation on a deep explanation of token/BTC market on XCP DEx exchange, but if there is not yet, documentation will be written soonDecentralized Exchange | Counterparty
It is possible to trade on the Counterparty decentralized exchange directly inside Counterwallet. You can trade any token against any other token, including XCP. (Trading against BTC is planned for the near future.)
-
-
scammers suck and I hope you guys are making sure to note the address any scammers are using, NiftyBoss does search through XCP dispensers specifically to note any addresses that are "trusted" or link to trusted addresses that have been time and time again trusted with not closing a dispenser while someone is looking to dispense. In most of the cases with dispensers where we can contact the seller, any mistakes, overpays, or stuck unconfirmed tx's are dealt with
-
At the moment I have been trying to log alot of common problems to put into an FAQ and have a proposition for that to get done here^ feel free to let me know if you see anything else you would like added to a new FAQ or some features or fixes you would like to see
-
check this, its a resume i did with the info we have about the scams happening https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WLsb8U4dpwmMj1bCnvzZcYybiWeicxM7x7ApSvM2BN0/edit?usp=sharing
-
Scamers use bots to frontrun you with another tx to buy so that tx close the dispenser. Even if you do high gas they just pay more as they do it in collections with values over 150$
-
love this iniciatives I think they will do a lot of good to CP
-
I got this steps by talking with Jdog. DEX BTCPay Overview
---
1. Place order to sell something for BTC
2. Place order to BUY something for BTC (BTC Buyer)
3. BTC Buyer has to monitor for order match
/api/order_matches/{address}
4. On order match generate BTCpay tx
create_btcpay using the order_match_id (order_match_id = order1TxHash_Order2TxHash)
5. Send the BTCpay transaction with a high miners fee to get processed in next block
6. Wait for btcpay tx to get confirmed and verify you got tokens from order (optional)
Freewallet DEX BTCPay code
Another thing to be aware of when using BTCpay is sellers aren't guaranteed a complete divisible asset sale. Buyers may partially fill the order leaving the seller with fractions. -
“Imperative to use high fees” really means nothing when dealing with a malicious actor. They will just pay even higher fees than you.
-
True, I hope we can find a solution for these issues, or even bring back more use of the original token/BTC function to relieve this possibility of malicious actors.
-
-
yeah me too, but many new eyes have come so scammers have found their way.
-
There is a CIP to improve dispensers with some good solutions IMO
-
This is true, but we still have HUGE successful trades using this feature

Solutions to "rugspenser" problem
Attack vector: Scammer detects incoming buy and immediately sends another buy transaction with a higher fee. The scammer’s tx gets priority and the legit buyer loses his bitcoins. Possible solutions: 1. Pre-payment before full payment This requires a protocol change. The logic is simple. If less than a full dispense is detected, allow up to 12 blocks for the second tx. Perfectly safe as the protocol keeps the token on escrow. The buyer, if not trusting the seller, can thus make a tiny pre-pa...

havent seen too many issues relating to that recently, if its pretty new, maybe create a new topic here: https://forums.counterparty.io/ and have some devs and community look through it
-
seemed to get over whatever hump it was this morning - seems the failover to chain.so was the issue, but this morning the tx didnt failover anymore.
-
yess I need to find the time to do some writting, will do as soon as I can!
-
Also needs a delay for rugspenser being closed. I think 6 blocks delay for both scenarios would be fine
-
that just pushes the scammers to front run rather than close fast
-
-
-
Hey @MrCoins !
-
Disagree
-
What do you mean you disagree?
-
How does a delay on dispenser closeing stop a scammer from buying from his own dispenser? I just can't see how ?
-
-
The dispenser should payout to the first visible tx not the first confirmed, they can be labeled. Then when closing a dispenser the "close" action should take 5-6 confirmations to close the dispenser to give time to any pending transactions to confrim first. These two actions would prevent front running and closing out dispensers.
-
What about a malicious actor tying up every dispenser with no actual intent to buy, at zero cost, just for the LOLz
-
-
-
RUGSPENSERS series, its back
-
First visible text… then double-spend it back to yourself
-
-
-
visible ? as in unconfirmed? we spoke about this ... whose mempool is the authority? ..I vote mine lol

xchain mempool and you are talking about the small probablility that a tx is sent exactly at the same time

At that point, I would say there are probably better “trusted” escrow solutions rather than an over-engineered dispenser. There are always going to be fundamental tradeoffs with dispensers.
-
-
-
being Rugged isn't a fun tradeoff

I agree. But it’s like saying, “I don’t like getting stabbed in back alleys buying heroin”… sort of par for the course

I mean I like this in theory.
The scammer would have to work with the node operator to scam? -
Because dispensers are often created at a new address I believe an existing solution lies with being able to see which address funded it. If the source is a known community member then the buyer can rest assured.
To the best of my knowledge there is no easy way for the end user to determine who funded a dispenser at a new address.
One would think the information should be readily available as to where the funding came from by looking at a counterparty explorer. -
This will slide the scale toward transparency and inherently slide it away from anonymity. Much like most options, but this seems a little bit better than a centralized list of good addresses
-
https://forums.counterparty.io/t/solutions-to-rugspenser-problem/6623
I believe the only protocol solution should be:
Small pre-payment -> dispenser gets reserved -> make full payment.
This will virtually eliminate all risk for buyer.
Trusted dispensers etc are ok as 3rd party solutions but too messy to be in the core code. Trust is an endless cat and mouse game.Solutions to "rugspenser" problemAttack vector: Scammer detects incoming buy and immediately sends another buy transaction with a higher fee. I am unable to determine the legacy address in this transaction data. How do I go, as someone naturally would, from the dispenser address back to the financier?
This very thing should be a native one click-link to verify.
End users cannot be expected to know to decipher third party websites in order to determine something specific to this project. -
the legacy address in the transaction is visible on counterparty explorers such as xchain and xcp.dev , its not shown on more traditional block explorers. Xchain doesn't show the opening address just the legacy address xcp.dev is perhaps a better resource when it comes to dispenser data

Insurance from rugpensers is probably one of the good solutions in the short term to clear up this space from scams
-
-
you are in the RUGSPENSERS now lol
-
Hear me out with trustspensers insurance fund and if that’s horseshit tell me
-
What we need is to have dispensers owners to put collateral into the fund
-
And get trustspenser subasset on the balance
-
Need RUGSPENSERS too
-
This subasset will signal a buyer that trustspenser is legit, and if there is a front run or other rugging there is enough collateral in the fund to compensate
-
Trustspensers insurance will be bought back by the fund at any time, so dispenser owner can get his collateral back minus the service fee which we can use to fund service development and xcp development
-
For dispenser owners there is a hurdle of getting the insurance, but we can get dispenser market back from scammers
-
Fund wallet can be multisig with someone reliable from the community
-
And I can build this stuff with my own funds if this idea is accepted by the community
-
Just tired of rugspensers
-
Not a huge fan of the pre payment. It does add a lot of hassle and double TXs
-
-
-
Pre payment would be optional.
Sure, not worth the hassle for a $100 card. -
Hello i did a bit of a writing on how to use the DEX for buying and sell (using BTC), this is a draft to the tutorial. I used all the resources I found + a personal exercise of buying and selling. Can you check if you find anything wrong? Also for doing it with BTC, its that using BTCpay? if thats the case how can I do this? (Confirm the payment: Click on the notification, then click "BTCpay" to complete the transaction.) Thank you all! https://medium.com/@rarestamp/counterparty-dex-tutorial-trading-tokens-and-using-btcpay-d539cfed68c

Is the counterparty Dex only allow to buy/sell Token? Can you place buy / sell order for STAMPS?
-
Yes.
-
All CounterParty assets available on the dex.
-
How would someone place a buy order for a specific stamps?
-
freewallet - exchange tab - search for market -
TOKENA/TOKENB
If no orders found create the market buy placing a buy or sell order -
-
For Stamp, you can only sell using a dispenser. Can you sell your stamp on the counterparty DEX?
-
wont let me read it without setting up a medium account - maybe instead reformat it to github gist? or some other way to publish the draft?

Im out now, but Will share a docs tomorrow. Sorry for that

anyone having issues sending btc using freewallet
-
I can't sweep atm
-
Yeah same mate, I opened a post on github a few weeks ago, i think jdogg is going to sort it soon
-
-
If you used a service. You must wait for it to be sent out to your wallet.
-
AFAIK Xchain working fine… you issued n transferred ownership in same tx… so asset ownership is in different wallet than balances https://xchain.io/tx/a4d1a4f6872b88dc117122dfd6bde867fd18d2df1c4856b80a3ca5c5a9d4d2b5
-
Still getting this error, does anyone have any clue what it could be? I have tried restarting laptop, fw is upto date, tried changing servers etc.
-
Perhaps addy is too fragmented - I would suggest to add more btc to it and try again
-
Ive tried sending from another addy on the same wallet both getting the same error and both have more than enough btc. Not much dust in either
-
-
Have this settings sir?
-
Broadcasting is address specific issue not a cp issue… try using electrum to gather your utxos
-
Ive just sweeped the addy, Still getting the error. It was working fine last night
-
I can send assets though , Is BTC different ?
-
strange been trying all day and now its just started working
-
Having an issue with multisend. It keeps capitalizing the letters in the address and giving me invalid address error
-
-
Never heard of that issue before
-
ikr. I dm you pics. I'm going to uninstall and reinstall when I get back to my laptop

Sweep is known issue which will be fixed in next release

Hey anyone here knows whats wrong with the cp api today?
I keep getting KeyError in the response when I manually send a create_issuance, it only started today and nothing has changed from my side -
-
Anyone here to help me shed some light on this?
-
Been getting server error.
-
Yeh man. You too?
-
Windows Application hasn't given me an issue
-
There is absolutely someone more qualified than me to answer this eventually, but in my search on forums.counterparty.io for "KeyError" I found this. Feel free to search for more documentation but this is what I could find quickly that points to a similar error: https://forums.counterparty.io/t/default-error-at-fednode-install-full-master/5386/2Default error at fednode install full master
Hi, first post: I am doing a, fednode install full master on Ubuntu1604. First error in fednode.py was the logname which I changed to whoami. I´ve publish this article for using the DEX, specially using BTC. I´ve added some warnings about the fact that the wallet needs to be open to complete the order when using BTC. Let me know if you find anything incorrect and I´ll change it. Did my best effort with the docs and feedbacks I got. https://medium.com/@rarestamp/counterparty-dex-tutorial-trading-tokens-and-using-btcpay-d539cfed68c

Having a funny issue with btc tx fee through freewallet. High fee does not seem to be matching up very well with the vb of the send. I sent some btc from 1 wallet to another and used custom fee rate of double the high fee and it ended up in the mem pool at 5 sats per vb and 5 inputs. Did some sends of assets at high priority and fee rate came out way over high fee in the mem pool. Kinda confused.
-
fee is an estimate based on average send size... will work to get better fee estimation in freewallet when I get a chance... but, its up to you to figure out what fee you should send things at... dont depend on high/low/medium settings and suggested fees if you want something sent fast, or slower 👍️️️️️️
-
Wow!!! Beautiful!!!
-
-
Thank jdog. It is kinda hard to estimate vb without the ability to see what the weight of the tx is going to be.
-
Can someone explain this smooth brain question.
Why 5 inputs fir 1 btc send from wallet to wallet.
Just fir my own knowledge. Thanks. -
It depends on the UTXOs in your wallet.
-
-
-
Very well explained. Thanks Fren

this is a BTCpay transaction on the XCP dex with the BTC pair - recently an FAQ was written about using that feature here: https://medium.com/@rarestamp/counterparty-dex-tutorial-trading-tokens-and-using-btcpay-d539cfed68c
-
-
-
basically whats going is the person who put up the tx to sell BTC did it 24 days ago as shown if you click the information for the order tx which is here: https://xchain.io/tx/2399463 - they have 20 blocks to send the BTC or else the order is not filled which is why it is labelled as "pending"
-
-
Actually this tx looks strange to me as it is showing "PEPEXADIDAS" as the asset
-
I do see what you mean on how confusing that is, the https://xchain.io/tx/2399463 is what was prompted when I clicked "view"
-
Yeah very weird
-
-
No
-
-
-
cool I understand the tx info more now. And I checked for this order on BTC/XCP open orders and dont see it. At the moment on xchain I'm seeing that as a pending order match from 2 hours ago from the address 1Mkr6w2pnzxSsP6TyoLBn4iB2aHsgQzJmc, though when I'm looking at the buyers address on blockstream I'm not seeing the TX from two hours ago
-
-
-
-
tell your boss it's not possible
-
I am not an employee, just an enthusiastic community member. I am just trying to help users here out the kindness of my heart. I am doing a couple test BTCpay transactions right now using Automatic pay as the buyer and the Manual pay to fish out the whole process and make sure I can use this feature correctly with Freewallet v0.9.23
-
So I tested the BTC/RAREAIRDROP exchange market with BTCpay on Freewallet v0.9.23 and filled an open order (to match) with the Automatic setting which sent out this tx: https://xchain.io/tx/a16f472eda1eb683e2a1b050153cd59da5e7e02269a1709bcdd953e8b7a15f66 , then I did the Manual function and got this tx: https://xchain.io/tx/ce6450163879e92403527859a30d2f6783f06efddafba18e99771068c29d1ea6
From the user side of things it seems that the first Auto-pay setting for BTCpay didnt "automatically" work. For the second tx (which was the Manual setting) I was instructed with the information I have seen to leave Freewallet open (locked is ok) and wait for a pop up to confirm the second transaction/broadcast. I have not seen anything yet even though both tx's are confirmed and showing on xchain as "open." Is there some instruction I am missing here or does it seem BTCpay may be bugged on v0.9.23? -
-
-
I once told a boss I was calling in well. She was confused, so explained it was like the opposite of a sick day. I said I’m far too well to come into work today. It turned out to be my last day.
-
Kek . Like a boss
-
-
Gm, a mistake happened in my freewallet, sub-asset mint with only 7.5sat/vb stuck for more than 24h now. - re-issuing at higher tx in fw prints broadcast error. btcnitro minimum for fee bump is 11sat/vb, rebroadcasting afaik. pointless as mempool back up at 17sat/vb
What‘s the way to go with such to not have addy stuck until tx is dismissed in what is it, around two weeks? Thanks for hints. 🙏🏼 -
use cpfp
-
-
child pays for parent with sparrow or electrum you mean? I‘ve used electrum before to send an amount to myself with super high fees but did not always work.
-
yeah cpfp is sweet
-
-
need to learn how to cpfp in electrum, not sure if I know how that works.
-
-
Gotcha, cpfp executed on tx. waiting now.
-
Hope I am doing this right, this is what it should look like isn‘t it? don‘t mind the size (11.82mb) it‘s jumping around in electrum, in blockstream dot info size is 864 B
-
confirmed. cpfp indeed works well like that, thanks.
on another address i have a stamp mint stuck. happened even though 23sat/vb, send to myself @ 35sat/vb. Now bumped parent to 56sat/vb and hope it works.
need to learn more about how to not get stamp tx‘s stuck despite enough initial sat/vb.
in the past I used btcnitro for those sometimes but the 15ish dollars suck. -
-
Ok I am just trying to find a workflow where I can halfway rely on stamp minting times by paying decent fees but not overpaying by several hundred percents. Atm. for me when I mint a stamp on freewallet it's like I'll wait mostly several days despite sat/vb seems reasonably high, do cpfp, use btcnitro and this is a bit a bummer because the wallet can't really do any other transactions until it's all confirmed. Assume it could also have to do with the multisig dustsize reduction down to 0.000025 (from default 0.000078) but still learning.

trying to send out btc from FW. 1st addy i sent from gave broadcast error. switched to a different addy and was able to send a chunk, then tried to send another chunk and got same broadcast error. any suggestions? using xchain.io for api host. also tried host2.xchain.io.
-
-
"This version of the API is invalid or is no longer available. For API V3 documentation, see https://chain.so/api."
- 22 June 2023 (9 messages)
-
can also try host3 and host4
-
looking at the code there's this "// Handle getting BTC balance (in satoshis) from various sources" which then lists 4 api's - first blockcypher, then blockstream, chain.so and coindaddy - part of that calls = (parseFloat(o.data.confirmed_balance) + parseFloat(o.data.unconfirmed_balance))
I'm no dev but I'm thinking it's prob something to do with unconfirmed balance? and maybe also utxo's or w/e they are called? -
-
going from that i daresay you may have got rate-limited on the xchain api so it fell back to chain.so - but can also see that URL needs to be changed to the v3 api
if you're on a vpn try change servers you might have been temp limited on xchain or something. -
@jdogresorg - are you able to update the chain.so api on your next wallet release?
-
There a pr in that updates the failover (I’m also hitting this a lot)
-
So I've been working together with @blockjack8 to develop a perfect FAQ for BTCpay for users using Freewallet v0.9.23. He and I dug into the forums, github, asked in dev chat and counterparty chat about this process. We are trying to hash this out for users to make it the most smooth process and easy for anybody new to Counterparty. Both Angel and I haven't used BTCpay before, so we both thought we would test the process.
Angel threw up a test BTC/RAREAIRDROP market and we got some help early on from @al_fernandz , in which Al successfully filled his BTCpay order here: https://xchain.io/tx/2428927
It was Al's experience that this simply "filled automatically" when he made sure to keep Auto BTCpay in the ON setting when making the BTCpay order. Which was completed and filled. He is also using v0.9.23.
Angel and I also then tried to do the same process, but our orders never automatically filled even though the market had open sell orders that should have automatically matched for us to buy with btc. It was strange because we did not have the same experience as Al.
I went even farther to try filling the order on the Auto setting (https://xchain.io/tx/2429910) and the Manual setting which I expected some sort of popup while keeping Freewallet open (https://xchain.io/tx/2429937). No fills. No popup at that time.
I took a break after many hours of nothing "automatically happening" and the next day I would eventually close and restart my Freewallet to see these two popups:
"Enable Auto-BTC pay?" - which it then asked for my password (just the one I created in Freewallet to lock my account, which is normal for unlocking Freewallet for other functions)
Then it popped up a statement "Auto BTCpay is now enabled and any order matches for BTC will be automatically paid"
So I thought, okay, why not try again? I used Auto BTC pay setting again assuming it should work now (https://xchain.io/tx/2430021). Still no luck. No order matches like Al's tx did , still not "working" from my user experience. Even stranger, Angel nor Al every saw these "Auto-BTCpay" popups.
In Angel's and my experience, BTCpay function is not working correctly for us in v0.9.23
So Al recently did a little experiment today. He tried (as Angel and I did) putting in a BUY order for buying 1 RAREAIRDROP for 0.002 BTC (as it SHOULD match the sell/buy list already open on the RAREAIRDROP/BTC market) - https://xchain.io/tx/e3e9b1ccaa1f1cc71478651e0e660eda98d52a64809190286158e3b7b686a1a1
Al also then put in a SELL order for 0.001 for 5 RAREAIRDROP to test the other direction of the trade - https://xchain.io/tx/ff6408b1da973a7f18256d391d0bc658b08d53329522f80f1e8dd884b96035a0
Now it looks like neither of the two new tx's from Al have matched correctly. So now I'm gonna stop wrapping my head around this and look into making other FAQ's for other functions. This will need to be sorted out before Angel and I can successfully write an FAQ on this subject.
Please anyone that is very familiar with BTCpay can you check this function out in v0.9.23? @jdogresorg , @c0rnh0li0 , @hodlencoinfield
Anything I can do from my end txs/debug I will gladly do but with my technical knowledge I am at an absolute standstill and cannot test or use this function. -
Just to clarify this issue is now being discussed here: https://github.com/CounterpartyXCP/cips/discussions/96
Also, this function can be tested on the Bitcoin Core (Testnet)Lower Requirement to Trigger BTCpay Order Match from 0.001 BTC to Something Lower · CounterpartyXCP/cips · Discussion #96Below is a test process I used, along with help from @Blockjack8 and @al_fernandz to try to use the BTCpay function using Freewallet v0.9.23 and we found orders were not matching with BTC orders un...

Guys, want to check another trustpensers idea with you. How about a TG bot or something where anyone can associate dispensers with his TG handle. In this case ppl can verify with bot before buying if there is a known contact in case of dispute. If dispute happens and not solved, all trustpensers of that TG handle will turn into rugspensers and ppl will know that and further rugs will be prevented in these addresses. As a heavy user of dispensers I hope to make them great again.

I usually send a small amount to the same wallet address with a higher than normal gas fee to cancel or make it go faster the unconfirmed transaction. I don't know if there are better ways.

You can review and add the the discussion here on that topic that JPJA started a couple weeks ago: https://forums.counterparty.io/t/solutions-to-rugspenser-problem/6623Solutions to "rugspenser" problem
