So I signed in and clicked around counterwallet.io - if there is an option to "show passphrase" I cannot find it either. But, this does not mean your Address #1 and Address #2 cannot be "migrated" to a different wallet. You can click "Address Actions" and click "Show Private Key" to see the address specific Private Key.

If you happen to migrate to freewallet.io (which is what I recommend) both of these Private Keys can be entered and recovered by going to "Address" - "Change Address" - then click "Options" and click "Import Private Key" - here you can still access all the assets/BTC on those addresses you are using with Counterwallet.io

Just make sure to save your Private Keys in a safe place (written down on paper) and NEVER share them with anyone.

It is quite unfortunate you lost access to the private key and needed to rely on the "show passphrase" button on Counterwallet. If you do find it you can always recover with your 12-word seed with Freewallet. But wow, I did check it out and noticed Counterwallet does not provide the private key for segwit addresses. I didn't notice that on first inspection.

This is definitely something that should be documented and hopefully soon in the future, upgraded as you cannot even migrate your segwit address to Freewallet if you wanted to. Since the Counterparty protocol itself supports this feature I think this is most likely doable and important to note for your user perspective.

Though I know there is significant amounts of documentation even I haven't read through yet here on the Counterwallet Github that may or may not help in finding a temporary solution: https://github.com/CounterpartyXCP/counterwallet/issues

The best place to voice your experience and clearly document what you are trying to do would be as a "New Issue" there. I think your specific experience and problem is quite valid.

And shoutout to @nft_ato for finding this solution regarding "fishing" out the legacy address that is connected with "My Address #2 (segwit)" in Counterwallet:

Basically Counterwallet gives you a Legacy Address #1
It also gives you a Segwit Address #2

but the Segwit Address #2 is not the Segwit address for My Address #1 (legacy)

Because Counterwallet doesn't provide the Private Key for the segwit address #2 it seems you have to fish it out.

By "fishing it out" - you are basically creating a new Legacy address in your wallet, getting the private key and adding "p2wpkh:" before the Legacy Private Key when importing to Freewallet (or unisat in the case of the forum post).

So the solution is creating more legacy addresses until you find it is the one that matches "Segwit Address #2"

In the OP post it looks like it is connected to his 3rd legacy address he generated.

@nft_ato got it working on his 2nd Legacy address he created.

Both OP and @nft_ato used unisat.io by importing the Private Key from My Address #1 (legacy)

I got curious and tried generating new addresses just using Counterwallet. I tried generating 6 new legacy addresses in Counterwallet and tried importing all of the new ones into Freewallet with "p2wpkh:" before the legacy private key and gave up there because I still couldn't generate the "My Address #2 Segwit" address Counterwallet provided.

I looked at https://github.com/Jpja/XCP-Export-Segwit but I just kinda stopped there. I'd have to test more but I'm calling it for now.

It sounds to me like the unisat.io method worked, but I think I will write up a rough Github proposal sometime in the future to smooth this process over for new users who use their "My Address #2" segwit address in Counterwallet.

Quite the headache, but it looks and sounds like it is solvable, I just could not recreate a solution myself using Counterwallet + Freewallet.

It's work with me also in new stampwallet, I think the reason unsat can work will is that after you put the private key next step asks you what type of address you want so you choose segwit , in free wallet doesn't ask you just import your lagacy

trying to sweep my free wallet into another electum wallet

Electrum isn’t a Counterparty wallet, so that doesn’t seem like a good idea… struck with FreeWallet.

i mean im aware the pepes wouldnt 'appear' in the electum interface but pepes would be on chain in that adress

but using freewallet then -

should i use the 'sweep' or is it same if i just send 1 by 1 in terms of fees

Electrum generates different addresses from the same seed than Counterparty

So yeah doesn’t seem like a good idea

if you have more than say 100 assets, sweep would be cheaper and more reliable to work than MPMA, provided it's a previous version of FreeWallet

you can do this. If you want to sell a bundle, simply open a dispenser for each asset on the same address, but make sure they are all set at the "Bundle" price. So if you send enough BTC to dispense, it will dispense all of them with one payment TX.

For instance if I wanted to sell 5 cards for 0.1 BTC, but they are individually valued at 0.02 BTC - open a dispenser on a singular address for each card to be dispensed at 0.1 BTC - so if a buyer see's your dispenser and see's 5 cards in an open dispenser at 0.1 BTC you are effectively setting the price for the bundle at that 0.1 btc price

at the moment a bug was found in Freewallet v0.9.23 and the sweep function is disabled, you will have to use v0.9.22 or earlier to use this function

there is no position for a "Counterparty Community Manager" filled at the moment, so you will have to be patient and wait for the reply of Community Members to help your issue.

Looking at your transaction I noticed it is a BTCpay transaction since it is a BTC/TOKEN pair. This process takes a few more steps than a regular XCP/TOKEN pair or a TOKEN/TOKEN2 pair.

Recently I did find a bug with btc_min being an issue in the protocol, though reviewing your TX I don't think this is the issue here.

Are you trying to do a MPMA send? (Multi-send)

counterparty uses the following derivation path

m/0'/0/0
m/0'/0/1
m/0'/0/2

and so on
