I don’t want to see anyone have to move to another chain. It should be optional. So Litecoin staying in lock step with Bitcoin Core makes the most sense in terms of maintenance.

I remember reading over a year ago when xcp was $5 or so that if xcp got too high then it would be voted on to make asset creation only a 1/4 of an xcp or something like that.. still in plans? -
Still the plan in theory, but no guidance on how/when it is appropriate to adjust the fees.... nothing formal in place tho. I proposed we put forth a CIP that would outline when it would be appropriate to consider adjusting the fees.... but nothing ever came of it.... so at this point, I don't think the prices will be adjusted anytime soon. -

Honestly, I don't see that as a major issue tho... as the cost to operate on BTC continues to rise... doesnt' seem to make sense to me to have a $0.50 asset registration when it is going to cost multiple dollars to send the asset around the network.... but i'm just one voice 🙂

I have no worries, the roadmap looks great and the developers deliver good stuff. (bitcoin's) fees are currently an issue which casts a shadow on XCP, but once this cools down and XCP implements segwit transactions, people will see its value. I'm patient :)

Hey guys, have you considered that a lot of people would log into their official counterparty wallet and will think that you deleted their funds if you move to litecoin? You effectively have if you follow through with this fork.

Actually dan, they are different. I know this is surprising. Moreover, while surprising, since counterparty uses bitcoin as the grease for its transactions, lots of people have actual bitcoin outputs in their counterwallet. The foundation existed to largely maintain that wallet, which is the gui of the project itself.

To fork, or not to fork, this is the question
I am starting this thread to squelch a burgeoning moan from some and to bring transparency for others. There have been a few community members desiring that we move this entire project to another chain. This would involve a snapshot at a set block and everything, lock stock and barrel, gets implemented on a new chain, they have mainly suggested Litecoin as the destination.
