I’m chillaxing
-
Lol I'm making fun of myself
-
😁
-
But the security of digital frogs is the tip of the spear as weird as that sounds
-
Security = hash power = fee money
-
Usability to buy coffee is another convo
-
These conversations - masked by absurdity and mockery are actually within the crucible of what is likely to be the most profound change in power in recent modern recorded history
-
Bch competing directly for sha256 hashes is what makes it unique among alts
-
(Unless or until someone proves it was a simulation after all.. in which case it’s just a level in the game mechanic)
-
Jesus was ranting Sim theory, they even wrote a book about it

The Sims didn't take kindly

One positive I see is how far we've come as a group as a project. At times this project is an open source project that cannot motivate actors accordingly for marketing purposes for example I've Been Told. Yet at other times major facets of this community project are not open source. Oh so we're here we have a paradox of it being open source but much of the stuff that makes it happen is not. When I think of an open source project I think it would be easy for someone to come to Market and participate in an effective way like modifying an open source shopping cart to accept their own tokens alongside Bitcoin.
In some ways the very barrier to entry in The decentralized Exchange represents greater Stigmata this group is placed upon Itself by trying to exist privately and publicly concurrently. -
Sociopaths- Ver, Wu, Wright
-
Cohen brothers made some good films on this already. I have nothing better to contribute to conversation on brain in a jar paradox.
-
-
Governments
-
Last time I looked Ver, Wu and Wright were not taxing people at gunpoint.
-
If they do - I’ll add them to the sociopath pile.
-
If this commentary is straying too far from the Counterparty topic of this room - I apologise.
-
@jsmith_dev this may be an avatar you might want to consider
-
-
can xcp just switch to layer over BCH? would that help the fee issue?
-
so if BCH increased it's hash you would ok with it?
-
yea that would a unexpected scenario.
-
I think it would demonstrate that btc could be co-opted
-
I'm actually out of XCP now, but I liked the idea of it. But it's too bad XCP had to inherit the issues that BTC had.
-
well, technically anytime the code or fundamentals get re-worked, it's getting co-opted
-
isn't the dev abandon something that is of concern?
-
sweet!
-
i agree the protocol still has value
-
No it's open source software, it's expected people will borrow code
-
let's not pretend some people don't have more influence over what code gets implemeted than others. there is def politics involved. probably with good reason
-
That's not what I said, politics are a huge part of crypto in general
-
All bitcoin and crypto are is using math to create social constructs
-
right. but my point is that how "open" is it really?
-
and the answer is probably "if you don't like it, your free to go fork your own shitcoin"
-
How open is what?
-
open source
-
All it means is the code is available
-
right
-
i was talking about what code actually gets implemented into the bitcoin protocol.
-
not taken and used for other coins
-
There's a process for that which was borrowed from python development
-
The BIP process
-
yea i'm familiar with it.
-
It's up to individuals to implement the process so that's where the human element comes in
-
And it becomes political
-
So contentious changes are hard to push through, but noncontentious ones aren't
-
right. my point was in regards to you saying "btc can co-opted" and I was referring to how collusion and political games can lead to that as well.
-
either way, not trying to turn this into a core vs bch thing
-
Yeah I don't think we disagree either
-
but was stopping by to see if XCP if needed could turn BCH to relieve it's fee issues
-
consensus is open. vote with your mining hardware and or feet
-
techinically it shouldn't be hard no?
-
It would cause a fork
-
yea it would.
-
There would be counterparty and counterparty cash
-
but forks are pretty trendy these days lol
-
Hahahaha this is true
-
and despite the beef, the forks have increased market value for the most part.
-
It's a house of cards to some extent
-
yea def a fragile situation
-
I think the more people realize the you can just "fork" and create a new coin the more fragile it gets
-
yea, you don't want to be in the tail end of the forking trend.
-
Because the scarcity proposition starts to waver
-
exactly
-
if XCP is gonna do something, it has to act sooner than later
-
I think it's actually much worse for xcp to fork
-
Because it relies on embedded consensus
-
yea, hard to really foresee the long term reprocussion of it too
-
You could fork xcp on btc
-
As in two xcps on the same chain
-
"Bitcoin Party"
-
the name is good lol
-
anyway, thanks for pleasant chat XCP guys. I wish you guys the best in 2018!

so much for his 'signing' of a six month 'contract' 😐

I guess the real fake "foundation" owes him nothing

A "fork" (moving everything) has been ruled out by everyone with the highest levels of technical knowledge.
A "port" (deploying Counterparty onto a new blockchain) is being pursued by at least one enterprise and has nothing to do with existing asset owners, if it's done as a clean fresh start on a new chain. -
counterparty assets are already latently embedded on every Bitcoin fork
-
if someone chose to spin up modified CounterpartyCash servers (for want of better name) on BCash, as I understand it, all assets as of the August 1st snapshot data could potentially be reconstructed. I have no idea if same wallet seeds and addresses work or not.
But nobody is talking about doing that. -
@jsmith_dev is talking about porting counterparty protocol (sans all existing assets other than his own I would presume) to BitcoinCash as he believes it's the real Bitcoin (true to Satoshi's original vision) and would provide the necessary low fee environment to make transactions cheap and markets liquid. Most Counterparty people disagree with his assessment, but he's completely free to pursue it and if it makes commercial sense for his enterprise to do it, so be it.
-
-
I'm looking forwards to the first lawsuit seeking to fork a chain
-
AFAIK, nobody is currently talking about recreating existing assets on another chain?
-
On what grounds and with what legal precident
-
I'm not under any illusion that I have a legal protection on my digital assets. The block chain is the protection. That's why trolling on telegram is your best preemptive defense ✊
-
Ok.. so on suing people for forks:
-
1. MIT / GPL License expressly permits this - so it’s a lame suit in any event.
-
2. If you are so riled up as to want to make a claim in-spite of those facts, you can contact me for service:

@jsmith_dev the question from @aris329 goes to the cloning of existing assets, which is quite a different question than just porting the codebase.
AFAIK you've said nothing about trying to copy / clone anyone else's assets, so there's really nothing to debate here is there? -
It’s an un-answered question.
-
A project site is being set-up to discuss these exact issues and all other things.
-
I don’t have a view - look forward to forming one on the other side of collecting a lot of input (including threats of lawsuits etc)
-
most people involved to a significant degree in counterparty who have expressed a view here in the last 48 hours have indicated no belief in the feasibility or viability of porting all assets / ownerships / statuses en-masse to a new chain...
I've thought it through at some length and cannot see a way to make that work that satisifies all community, social, technical and commercial concerns.
@jsmith_dev on the other hand, from what I can see, porting the code base and instantiating a new counterparty clean slate on BCC is achievable and I understand that would meet your commercial requirements? -
please let us know when that's online? interested to see what issues arise and what resolutions are canvassed.
-
Under a week
-
okay, I'll rephrase that, when it's online, please provide link :)
-
anyways, I gotta shower and head out for NYE, so will catch up on this a bit later

Im sueing. That's why i copyrighted all my creations and bought up as many as i could. I knew the future would bring this upon us. Greed is universal. Copyright, digital rights and much more are here at stake. Im sure eversoft will sue as well.

Any prints of my copyrighted materials, im acting worse than the cuck Matt Furie. Lol.

Thanks @KEKRELOADED

You see, many didn't like my aggressive approach nor understood my behavior when i joined rare pepe community. Like some, i saw the bigger picture and i valued art and creativity. I tried to hint at other creators about their rights, but many didn't listen. Heck, they were too caught up in the fun and excitement.

Anyone who does unauthorized copies of copyrighted material. I tried to told yall. Meme magick is real. The great egytian lord Kek has been ressurrected on the most powerful financial infrastructure known to mankind, bitcoins blockchain. All Hail K🐸K! KEKRELOADED has been deployed upon the chain of commerce to help combat the forks of evil. 💸
-
Come on @rarepepenewsdotcom, its a copy and a clone. That's what bitcointrash is.
-
@jsmith_dev Why dont you just start from scratch. Burn the trash, use the same technology and go from there. Copying/cloning is a bad idea. The year of the forks is almost over. Lol.
-
In order to scale, you need a way in. The only way in is a backdoor. That's in plain sight. How else do you think they can go in and make blocks bigger? There is truly a backdoor. Also transactions are not anonymous like bitcoin tx are. Bitcointrash is all about forced control. Its not about bigger block size. That's the bullshit they selling so people accept their lies. Bitcointrash is the biggest scam con in crypto history and many are falling for it. Im still moving pepes with low fees. I only use high fees when i see the need to.
-
You dont know who is sending bitcoin. Just how much and when
-
Now monero, that's a whole nother ball game with true anonymity.
-
No. They can go in and scale at any time. Whenever they feel more is needed.
-
Github, what is that?
-
-
Bitcoin Cash Plans to Increase Its Block Size, Again
Bitcoin cash could have its block size increased next year, according to an early roadmap from Bitcoin ABC.
-
Any time they want to increase block size they can. That's the whole point in scalability.
-
Exclusive: Jihan Wu Confirms Backdoor Claims in Bitcoin Miner Bitmain
The bitcoin community is abuzz with news that Bitmain miners allow for remote code execution which can shut-down 70% of the hashrate.
-
This is why Wu is key to it all.
-
non mining. that's bullshit when jihan controls much of the power and makes the miners.
-
That's not extraordinary. That's common sense. Anyone knows in order to scale and increase block size, you need a way in. I could dig deeper just for you but im in bed with two beautiful specimen of the female race. The one that's mine, getting mad im on the phone and not sleeping. Hold that thought. I will be back in a few hours.

What's your take on it Ael?
-
anytime i see “increase blocksize” i insert “kick can down the road”
-
Regular hardforks by Roger Wu's

Command
-
You don't need any changes to counterparty-lib to do onchain voting via broadcast
-
That's how the community director elections have been done the past couple years
-
just some parts of a convo about Lightning Network
-
If anyone wants to help test the Lightning Network or just to play with it to see how instant low-fee payments work on it without having to hit the blockchain for each payment, you can start by getting a testnet Lightning Network wallet from htlc.me or the Android eclair wallet.
-
Then load up with coins from a testnet faucet and buy silly jokes, short articles etc from yalls.org or "coffees" from starblocks.acinq.co ⚡️
-
Almost every project will soon adopt lightning network and cryptography would be more reliable.. Boom👌👌
-
It’s going to have an effect on fees even if they don’t use Lightning
-
What's this lightning network? How much are fees going to be? Isnt that what 95% of the crypto created after bitcoin supposed to be; faster, cheaper fees, blah blah blah
