If you have been following the Xcpc forums and telegram since day 1 you will get the answer. Dev team wants no 1:1 airdrop coz they think ppl will dump the coin after fork. They insist on having a burn something they have “announced” on the main page of their official website. I am totally amazed at how rumors travel that fast, 99% of Twitter users believe there will be an airfork and spread those false news all over the space. I believe that once Xcpc comes out officialy saying No 1:1 Xcp coin will drop so much coz everybody have believed the opposite for no reason

I have been wanting to comment on the 1:1 airdrop that people have been clamoring about.

For the vast majority of the time that I have been around Counterparty the price has been under $5 USD while I believe that the value was 20X that. If you compare XCP to the shitcoins out there that have very high values then XCP should be higher than all of them.

First of all, the clone of BTC is worth a fraction of BTC. If a clone of Counterparty were to occur on the Bcash it would also have a value that is a small fraction of the XCP value (far less that what XCP was for most of its history).

IMO, if XCP is at $50 then the Bcash version should be worth <$0.50. If that is the case then an 1:1 airdrop would mean that one XCP worth $50 would then be worth $50.50. Not quite worth worrying about. This has already been 'baked into the cake' of the current market price of XCP. I really don't think that the owners of XCP really care about the FUD because they're smarter than that.

XCP is way undervalued IMO and I am fine with that because all the XCP I acquired was for the purpose of creating assets.

@cryptomaniac90 There is nothing wrong with your point when you say that 'when people realize that there will be no airdrop that XCP will drop' but I believe that they already know that foor a while now. This is the reason that it went from ~$100 down to ~$50. When the market realizes what can be done with Counterparty on the most secure premier blockchain, the demand for XCP will be stronger than ever.

More important than the price of XCP is the value of the protocol and the Bitcoin network. We are in early days and Counterparty rides on the back of the honey badger. That is a pretty Big F'ing Deal.

I'm optimistic that we will see more developers discovering the platform as have so many talented devs who have already committed their projects to it. They deserve much support.
