None of the above

Here in the UK it's offensive af but i guess if shawn isnt offended...
-
i thought it was a cigarette in the UK?
-
or trunk of a automobile
-
maybe im mixed up
-
ytunk = boot
-
Has more than one meaning, no one uses it nowadays because of its offensiveness
-
i remember now
-
Never heard if it being used in relation to a car.
-
Dante is a troll. He is focusing on all the ppl that have been helping the project rather than going have Julian literal attempt to steal the Counterparty brand and logo
-
It's offensive in the US too
-
good to know - next time in UK i wont use that term in hopes of fitting in or impressing anyhone with my worldliness
-
-
Yea I should probably ban him for that
-
Might be generational to deem what is and isn't offensive.
-
You’ve been warned Dante :)
-
Equally you could say tw*t here and noone would care
-
Awkward...

Ah, Mr. Boss welcome to the funnest foundation fibrilation and fork fight in crypto right now.
-
just caught up, glad to see we're all getting along just "fine"
-
😄
-
going to run a blockchain loyalty programme scoping workshop with a large corporate next week, not sure my original plan of recommending Counterparty tokens is looking so hot right now.
-
At least their name doesn't start with A
-
so there's that... but due diligence could be a little bit tricky to manage at present
-
wouldn't make much sense anyway with fees where they are
-
that is also true... I'm half serious, half trolling.
-
actually, it wouldnt make much sense at any fee level
-
why would they need blockchain for a loyalty program?
-
this is one of those fascinating questions... they've been tasked to look into it... there are some benefits to be explored...
-
it won't make sense for lots of cases, we'll see if there's a viable use case that emerges.
-
I haven't fully formulated my list of questions yet (I'm a participant in the team, not the leader running it)
-
I'm reviewing a few existing / under-development blockchain loyalty platforms
-
"help run" (I'm not the lead)
-
-
Welcome back @heunland sorry you got banned like that. i removed him for going overboard and attacking you and then banning you for now reason.
-
-
exactly
-
-
it’s hard to come to consensus. i agree that the fork discussions should have been happening out in the open BUT this is what was going to happen so everyone waited until it was sort of too late
-
meaning, the “consensus” process is what was going to happen
-
which is a bunch of egos and ideas and crap being thrown around
-
it really all comes down to motivated devs wanting to code
-
we all want that.
-
we want ten devs working all day
-
one way to get there is to have a company that uses the protocol and also helps sponsor the dev work.
-
until we got to that point we had to hire devon seller.
-
weller
-
after being attacked he didn’t want to even code for pay anymore.
-
yea would be awesome if XCP had a blockstream
-
maybe a small private equity management firm wanting to use XCP and then they pay core devs
-
-
oh yea, not going to dive into conspiracy but sure he’s motivations are for cheap tokens
-
that’s why he is gone as well and excited about BCash
-
gross
-
we didn’t have anyone working code for us prior to devon
-
-
he was doing some stuff but not as much as we needed
-
Amazing that you haven't
-
-
-
the hilarious thing about the donations is the two major donors were/are either starting a litecoin fork or were in favor of a snapshot ledger move the whole thing to litecoin.
-
not that i’m aware of
-
-
doubt Robby is funding another project
-
J P donations. yea probably
-
Sounds like the foundation should have listened to the donors and moved the project to litecoin
-
but his project is going to have an ICO. so it’s not even really trying to follow Counterparty ethos
-
it was fucking radical
-
It's still my opinion
-
i was in the middle playing bruce fenton of the foundation
-
A "move" is an attack on meta protocols in general
-
i just want to see Counterparty thrive. if there is a litecoin fork, i want it to be lock step with this project and share the dev pool
-
This is sarcasm, pointed at you
-
You = dan
-
because you brought up some good points about its legal status.
-
do we even know if it really existed?
-
There is no more fake larping foundation
-
Since you are the expert. what do you do when everyone quits?
-
Correct me if i'm wrong, not sure how usa tax works - would the responsibility not fall into the original foundation members hands?
-
Whoever founded it all?
-
You should do something about it if you feel there was wrong doing. I’m not aware of anything that was done incorrectly. Funds were returned to donors.
-
Ok so are evan and robby in the chat?
-
Not trying to sound spiteful
Just trying to be conducive -
Ignorance is never an excuse but I only heard about the non profit status being rejected after being elected into the foundation. I think once that occurred probably should have dissolved that entity.
-
MonaCoin XCP fork is more stable than BCH XCP fork. Can't compete for sha256 hashes.

Cool cool this is a XCP chat.

I have just read on the official XCPC forum that the dev is not keen on a 1:1 fork to XCP holders because as he said price of XCPC might tank post fork
-
I dont find this fair to XCP holders at all
-
it's good because nobody will buy that shit
-
and then noone will have a vested interest in it

Dev username deweller at talk.counterparty.cash

Read dev response:

i suggest you start a xcpc chat for xcpc crap

Again, xcpc dev doesnt like the idea of an airdrop so probably xcp holders will receive ZERO xcpc
-
Another thing is a burn another thing an airdrop
-
And xcpc is having a burn
-
Hope so coz its not fair if we dont get xcpc
-
Dont get why xcp devs dont comment on this fork situation
-
They don't comment much on dogeparty either

Who owns the brand?

So a holder of 10 XCP will get 10 XCPC correct?

the blerb about xPCP is appropriate and short. It notifies users of the news, and directs them elsewhere to discuss the logistics. I believe that this paragraph was responsibly written
-
Monaparty is mentioned in regards to atomic swaps and indiesquare it's exciting. Bcash isnt a competitor. We discussed with julian about mentioning it in a neutral manner. Counterparty is opensource and people are welcome to utilize it how they see fit. In an effort to maintain transparency we're not going to shape a certain narrative at CP but present as much news as we can in the relevant contexts from hereon out - you are therefore welcome to shape your own perspective from events.
-
Thanks 👌

Counterparty isnt a brand or institution.
-
In a sense, but in that regard there could be a 100 more competitors by the end of the year.
-
-
You said “we” but if there is no longer a Foundation then who is “we”.
-
We didnt drag or promote julian but rather present the facts as they are and left it at that.
-
Okay we as in me, and then jeremy who proof read it and shawn who also gave it a once over. But primarily i source all the information.
-
I am not clear on who you represent.
-
Let's put it this way i began writing the newsletter in december then i had to hold off finishing it and review and edit everything due to events. But the news has always been written in its first entity by me.
-
you need to dig deep to get some insight. Why did the foundation dissolve? Who was the main dev? How was he paid? Where did he go? you answer these to yourself by scrolling back and you may have insight.
Personally, I am enjoying everyone moving forward in a positive way -
-
-
I represent the cp community, thats why the newsletter is built up of news from various projects
-
-
Im very exciting to see how the protocol moves forward this year
-
-
what is the channel?
-
Or maybe that shouldn’t be promoted here is a reasonable position.
-
-
-
-
It sounds like that other project is a competing project.
-
Where was an airdrop mentioned?
-
-
perception is everything. When i am confronted with resistance i reassess my values that pertain to the difficulty. What is really important here? Feeding the mother project. All too often have I seen projects get momentum and leave. Never paying allegiance in the form of selfless developing upstream or bounties being filled from ICO revenue. It is entertaining to see the rats leave the ship thinking it is sinking. there are too many lessons in human nature at play to leave. for the people who are altruistic are the alphas and the dicks are those who walk when they cant "get some"
-
I only saw mentions of people needing to burn their XCP. Perhaps that is what is meant by 1:1? 1 for 1 burned?
-
That would be an attempt to have people leave the original Counterparty.
-
-
That is not an airdrop.
-
Then good luck to them
-
Nobody is gonna support them
-
They use the counterparty brand name
-
And turning their back at the original Xcp holders?
-
Why participate then?
-
The fair game is 1:1
-
To all xcp holders
-
If we drag ourselves with negativity we're never going to have the mindset to achieve anything or rally the community. If we focus on us and let others focus on them. Which is exactly why i'm not dragging the 'competition'
-
Ive been screaming to xcp dev on Twitter release release release updates or else a fork or a whatever X coin will come to the scene and steal the Xcp light
-
They are so slow
-
One thing however i may take action against is the fake cp twitter aka blockscan which is now posing as bcashXxcp
-
An xcp dev is rarely slow :/ i've seen the hard work behind being a dev personally. This people have day jobs too most of the time.
-
It’s good that you acknowledge that the fork on bitcoin cash is the competition.
-
Note the quotations.
-
Then do you see them ad the competition to Counterparty?
-
Competition is not something to drag and undermine. What julians doing is his thing. CP should focus on their thing.
-
Is competition something that should be given help, aide, comfort and support?
-
It hasn't been given any of that.
-
You can't put your hands over your ears and ignore its existence though. It was mentioned because it pertains the protocol. Simple as. It was concise and neutral.
-
It was a question of whether it should.

Xcp fork to bch isn't officially supported by the Counterparty repository/project/team
-
And if there's a contentious ledger snapshot to create an "airdrop" it will be considered by some (me included) an attack over Counterparty
-
So there's that
-
-
-
-
-
-
Yes, they're part of the team driving xcpc, and tokenly
-
Looking into is not the same as doing this, some people look into the abyss and the abyss looks back 😂

Counterparty Wants to Stay on Bitcoin but Fees Remain a Contentious Issue
The Counterparty Foundation has said informally it will keep the Counterparty asset creation layer running on the Bitcoin blockchain. However, there remains an active push for a more formal vote on whether to fork the project to a new blockchain to escape Bitcoin's current high-fee conditions.

the fact is that XCPC isn't as secure as XCP and, unlike MonaParty, is subject to hash attacks from majority sha256 mining power. Advertising it as more secure is a lie.
