I’m waiting to hear a convincing counter as to why this is not absurd.
-
Stop simping bro
-
dunno man... I was sleeping.. and, scammers do all sorts of tricks... like posting a message and then editing the content thinking it will get past the spam bot... as I said, prolly related to your hours of non-stop posting comment rapidly, editing them, etc... Not aware of anyone doing any "moderating" of you except the automated spam bots 🤷️️️️️️
-
No one really does... just know he was in here spamming text and telling people to fuck off and violating the CP content policy rules many times.... it started around the time cp 2.0 went live and ledgers diverged... ppl did sends to dispensers, they were not converted to dispenses as they were supposed to, ppl lost funds, and then drama ensued... there was a bunch going on at the time, so after multipel people complained, he was put on mute for a week so that other ppl could talk and try to get to the bottom of the issues.

Anyways, all of this over $0.40 savings to open a dispenser
I have personally helped recover well into 5-figures worth of BTC for individuals
Mostly noobs who will never use Counterparty again afterwards
Now JDog is opening the door to a big new scam
To save a handful of folk $0.40 -
How is this not absurd?

Dispensers are responsible for breaking Counterwallet too.

And this, from reports made just in 6 days (between 0.25-0.5 BTC), after this big of an issue, new users quit buying due to the risk and the move to new things... https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WLsb8U4dpwmMj1bCnvzZcYybiWeicxM7x7ApSvM2BN0/edit?usp=sharingReport: Incident Analysis and Proposed Solutions for Counterparty Dispensers

As I’m sure you are aware, transaction fees change all the time, and are based on the UTXO’s used in the transaction, and the transaction fee….. right now your example says that it cost $.40 to do a transaction, while the fees are at the all-time low of 2 sats/vb, however, those fees are very low right now, and in fact last night, the fees spiked up for a little while over 500 sats/vb.
So to answer your question, it is not just a savings of $.40, it is primarily a concern over things taking three transactions instead of one transaction, and so in the case of 500 sats/vb, we are talking about three transactions each which will cost around $150 per transaction…. So when fees are high, it becomes more apparent how things have become more difficult to use and more expensive since using the 500 sats/vb example, which was experienced last night for a couple hours, we go from one transaction at $150…. To the same functionality of opening a dispenser now requiring three transactions for a total cost of $450.
The numbers are all relative to the size of the transaction and the fees, which are constantly changing.
This is why Kane was saying the neighborhood feels like it’s getting gentrified, and counterparty is becoming a rich man’s platform, because it is costing more and more for users to transact using dispensers.
Longer-term I’m sure better solutions are coming , but that doesn’t mean that dispenser users should have to suffer in the meantime.
I hope this answers your question.
I have some coding to do this morning, so I’m gonna disengage from here for now.
I hope everyone has a great day and gets outside and touches grass 😊👍🏻 -
Once again, please review messages and questions already answered here... will forward for you.. sec

Interesting… Adam is now saying that I broke the counterwallet to force users to FreeWallet…. Reality is counterwallet broke, and Javier and I proposed three different solutions to get counterwallet working again, Adam ignored all three proposals and closed them, saying counterwallet was old and outdated.
But it seems to suit his narrative that I’m trying to maintain some sense of control 🤷🏻♂️
Here is the relevant issue showing the true history, and the three proposed solutions, and the issue closed by Adam.
Much like mainstream media, don’t trust what you’re being told, do your own research👍🏻

You pushed the change that broke counterwallet last year before Adam was back.

Cool, dispensers have issues, this is indeed true, just like using BTC on the DEX has issues... these issues are not addressed by the removal of the origin functionality, which simply manages how users open and close dispeners and makes it easier to do so in 1 tx vs 3.... appreciate your viewpoint, but seems like ppl are just throwing out random arguments rather than staying focused on the very specific loss of functionality in Counterparty 2.0 which users have come to rely on.... the origin dispenser functionality, and having to do 3 txs to open a dispenser on new/empty addresses instead of 1 tx (I hear it will be just 2 txs in the future, but as of now, it requires 3 txs)
-
I’ve read it possible to do it in 2 tx today by using the old send method rather than enhanced send
-
Yes, mistakes happen, and if you took the time to read the actual github link rather than immediately replying, you would see that Javier and I proposed 3 separate solutions, which were ignored... so counterwallet stayed broken... However, we applied those suggested fixes to the Dogeparty version of counterwallet, and it continues to run, to this very day, perfectly fine, and it is on parity with the features of 9.61.3.... so the whole narrative that we broke counterwallet and that is why it is down is false.... We proposed solutions, Adam and team ignored them and "archived" counterwallet.... only he knows his reasons, but it would make sense to shut down old/competing wallets (competitors) if the goal is to drive traffic to a new wallet
-
-
-
I read that Javier would have it fixed in a few days. This was last December. Why didn’t you guys fix it if it’s so simple?
-
YOu should be able to wait a few more hours... the "fix" to dispensers goes live in a few blocks

Release v10.6.0 · CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-core
Release Notes - Counterparty Core v10.6.0 (2024-10-25) This release includes a protocol change to fix a regression for the case when there have been multiple dispensers opened at a single address. ...
-
I mean dispensers have some uses cases for sure, but right now for trading assets if more people come to the eco it can generate a lot of problems and bad perceptions. I would prefer if the focus instead of gaining back that feature were to be able to set those dispensers in the same address and be able to choose the dispenser to trigger, that way sellers would save tx as they wont need more tx to get the BTC back to another account. I think this has been already discussed on github.

So rare pepe wallet purchase ? Any idea how long things are taking lately ?
https://tokenscan.io/tx/b2e68f7be3dd6088697e6c6be901ac7e4e08b8ff9cbc0d83a82c47376c520ba0
3hours still u confirmed
But at least it shows up I guess -
Is that just a relax young grasshopper kinda thing ?
-
As I have stated, I completely agree that new features are cool and better solutions are coming... my issues is with the removing of features which make using dispensers NOW harder before there are solid proven solutions to replace them. 👍️️️️️️
-
-
-
-
I actually like that button on my rare pepe wallet now
Is this for a dispenser
And I say yup and away we go seems easy I still screwed it up once hahah -
get your point and I think this should be moving forward something to think deeply. But in the state we are focusing on enhance new features should be the focus IMO while we have this period with more tx to set, but aiming to reduce that shortly.
-
This is true. Enough dust for the second tx (dispenser open) can be passed with a traditional send.
from a ui/ux perspective in a wallet that maintains the users keys, it’s possible to make it appear to function identically, with the difference being 2txs broadcast instead of one. -
.40 is a strawman. Kek
-
It’s the objective truth at this point in time.
-
Id ban every fallacy typed in here
-
More fallacy
-
If fees jump to $50, these penny pinchers won’t be opening dispensers for 1 tx either
-
Yeah it's called atomic swap
-
What a dolt
-
You're just trolling again
-
I’m addressing the matter at hand, while you’re diverting the convo away from it.
-
It's not the matter
-
-
Yeah constant fallacies
-
No debate skill
-
Jus a bunch of "you sir!, how dare you!" Aand stuff in a fake argument
-
-
The dude rolling in here with walls of text filled with personal attacks and accusations with no sauce trying to teach us manners 😂😂
-
I’ve been clear and concise while sticking to simple facts. You’re arguing about how to argue.
-
Your arguing a strawman for trolling pleasure
-
It doesn't exist bruv
-
All this for .40 cents disqualifies you
-
-
Projection?
-
What strawman did I stuff?
-
That's what I'm wondering about myself - I've been discussing the dispenser origin functionality and dispensers more broadly. I don't know what you're going on about.
-
$0.40

-
Debate 101
-
If you leave out the fallacy we can move on
-
Take the L
-
Shape up
-
-
I'm being honest. I cannot follow your trolling. It's leading us away from the actual discussion.
-
What do you just stare at the fallacy list while forming comments?
-
So we have now established it is just 1 extra transaction needed now rather than 2.
-
I already dismantled all your backup fallaci
-
I made that word up
-
They gave up
-
Getting away from the topic at hand again
-
The topic is you can't form an argument. Your fake questions have been answered repeatedly
-
Yh all the same questions are been repeated and answered
-
You ran out of TP
-
-
So now the core devs only need to remove 1 more tx?
-
There is a plan to reduce it back down to 1.
-
2 weeks?
-
I'm not worried about its timeline. I'm more concerned about the implications of having a fork maintained by jdog.
-
It opens the door up to serious scams.
-
Just to defend the thing that scammers loved the most.
-
Does everyone here understand the new attack vectors being introduced here?
-
9.6 was/is been used by ninja, 2.0 is the fork, if any scams are because of the fork, speak to the core devs 2.0 fork
-
As it is, there is no general fork, rather a token by token fork. The tokens can be forked from either side of the split.
-
Adding replay-protection would create an instant fork for everything on both sides, but I am opposed to that.
-
There is no precedent for it for starters. The prefix has never been changed for previous updates.
-
https://github.com/CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-core/issues/2197
To be clear I’m not a core dev, just a derp posting ideas and lurking on the GitHub and in these chats.
That said, the above will bring dispenser opens back to one tx, but would also be the first step to allow users to sign txs and send them to a relayer to broadcast them in witness data. (Reducing tx costs by >75% and having the fees paid in xcp)New Transaction Format · Issue #2197 · CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-coreMulti-Transaction Packing Pre-Signed Transactions (for TX Relay) Confirmation target (for TX Relay) Method to ensure tx expiration or sequencing (for TX Relay) TX Compression Update the detach func...
-
Of course this assumes the community wants to move in that direction
-
Or we can stay on 9.6 and ossify
-
Replay protection kills the fork
-
No one would use the older version
-
That's not going to happen tho so the devs are forcing themselves to work faster and under more pressure
-
Themselves and others

No one is being driven to the "Counterparty Classic" ledger, in fact, no one is even aware of how to interact with it yet (yes, there is a way, but not pointing it out)... still have hopes that this ledger fork can STILL be resolved and get everyone back on a unified ledger... at this point, all the tools on freewallet.io point to using Counterparty 2.0 and CP API 10.6.1... NOTHING on the site, nor shared in chats indicate how to interact with the "Counterparty Classic" ledger..... As I've said many times, but unfortunately continues to be unheard and blatantly ignored (not speaking directly to you corn, but to Adam), is that the origin functionality could easily be restored in the short-term to resolve these issues and then there is no need for any users to seek out a way to keep doing dispensers "the old way" where it only costs 1 tx instead of 3 (or 2 if your technical enough, but no UI exists to make it 2 txs, so it is effectively 3 txs for 99.9% of users)
-
cool, glad they updated, doesn't change the fact that a ledger fork exists, and that differences between the ledgers exist, nor the fact that counterparty-core STILL fails to allow users to trigger dispensers on addresses with an open dispenser reliably... the 10.6.0 hotfix which goes live in a few blocks should resolve this issue, but it doesnt change facts.. that there are 2 different ledgers, they have diverged, and all I have done at this point is highlight the lost functionality and point users to how to VIEW the differences between the ledgers.... still not linking or highlighting how exactly users CAN interact with this ledger... as I still have hope (tho just a tiny bit) that a compromise can be made by core devs to resolve this conflict and get everyone on the same ledger again 🤷️️️️️️

I asked to see his wallet since his main objection was over MPMA
I wanted to see how important MPMA really was to him since he’s willing to fork the chain over it
He did 1 MPMA in his entire history -
MPMA is yuuuge and Ive been using it forever
-
-
-
Many people have many different addresses Xcer, you know this. Your doing a bunch of work to try and discredit people based on their history or wallet size or usage to say they should have no say in things, rather than addressing the core issue of lost functionality in Counterparty 2.0 (btw, MPMA sends with memos are working again... thanks core devs)... only functionality which has been lost now that matters to the community is the loss of origin dispenser functionality (ability to open dispenser on a new/emtpy address in 1 tx, not 3tx.. or 2tx if your technical enough)
-
Everything you're doing seems to really be working and making counterparty great again. Thanks JDog

Is it really JDog vs an entire eng team and a tribe of trolls?
-
btw... new FreeWallet 2.0.1 release out this morning which addresses some issues with last nights late night release (never do releases when exhausted with little sleep).... Fair mints should be working, dispenses should be working consistently (as soon as the 10.6.0 dispense protocol change activates in block #868,300... about 44 more blocks ) https://github.com/jdogresorg/freewallet-desktop/releases/tag/v2.0.1Release FreeWallet 2.0.1 · jdogresorg/freewallet-desktop

btw it should be noted that rare pepe OG's Joe Looney & Shawn Leary are actively banning & muting folks that comment in this group from the rare pepe chat. Its seems gestapo tactics are not below the belt these days. They even demoted JDog from admin but still use the rare pepe bot he made...

then just stick to talking about pepes in there then - youre lucky you got in there when banhammer was forgiving

Maybe you didnt read what I wrote... They are banning people in there for comments made in this room. Not directly in that chat

and then we get the fedboi pipping in 🤣
