Yes it’s live
Note: right now it has core functionality only - a bunch of great features will be added to it in the next few weeks
If you need access to the DEX right now, I would suggest FreeWallet.io (desktop edition) -
-
How was it on Poloniex? More active than zaif / dex-trade these days?
-
oh yeah it was something amazing, impressive volume and pumps
-
it reached 100$
-
sadly at the time i didnt have enough money to invest in crypto :/

RPT asked me to let everyone know that if anyone still has counterparty assets in WTH escrow they need returned, you can reach him on x.com/roaringauctions or x.com/rarepepenews
He will be putting up an Airtable form for escrow asset return requests in the next day or two
I'll post the link here when that's availableRarePepeNews (@rarepepenews) on XBringing you the latest Rare Pepe News and varied commentary on all things #Pepe since 2016! #RarePepes #GIVEKUDOS #PEPECASH #PepeCoin #BasedAI
-
What happened to RPT?
-
He said I can pass along the following:
His AU and Indonesian numbers have been banned and blocked by Telegram with zero notice or cause given, both were on paid Premium accounts.
He is looking into incorporating WTH Auction House / Roaring Auctions in Dubai/UAE.
He may proceed with that if it gives him standing to raise breach of contract legal correspondence with Telegram and potentially bring legal action against Telegram for material commercial and professional damages.
Process will take some time. Will update any news in due course. -
Thanks for the info.
I wonder why Telegram is suddenly cracking down on so many channels and accounts now?
Perhaps it has something to do with the new French controllers? -

Didn't Durov recently concede that he'd be more cooperative with governments?

A bit pricey?

Yeah, I would pay 100$ if it was a limited edition, non fungible book :)

I see it on explorer.unspendablelabs.com, so it looks like a tokenscan specific issue
I would suggest posting on the freewallet chat, which J-Dog monitors more closely -

BOOOM Welcome to Counterparty 2.0 🎉

-
-
boom is right... I still have no reply from anyone on the dev team acknowledging the issue after over an hour... guess they all asleep... am switching tokenscan.io and public.tokenscan.io back to using 9.61.3 for now... so FreeWallet users are at least able to keep generating transactions, and tokenscan.io users are at least able to have a working explorer. Strange to me to go through a block activation without someone from the dev team staying awake to make sure all goes smoothly, but I guess that is the "old" way of doing things on CP.... Heading to bed now.. I've done my part to get CP users back up an operating.. the core devs can figure out the rest in the AM

-
Ah really?
-
Yes, Really... Feel free to check freewallet channel.. any complaints? Also, here is screenshots showing freewallet-desktop updated just seconds ago.. working fine here, and no complaints except the ONE here...
-
-
-
Thx for the screenshot - Just to clarify, what version is public.tokenscan.io running?
-
currently public.tokenscan.io is running 9.61.3.... so users can keep using the basic features of CP via freewallet/tokenscan until the core devs get the current release working/stable... I'm still not able to connect to the API in my nodes on 10.4.6, and api.counterparty.io is still down as well.
-
-
Using 9.61.3 now may cause consensus issues though
-
I think it's best to wait for an official update from @teysol - I guess that shouldn't take long
-
5+ hours of counterparty API being down, and still no engagment from core devs in the "dev" channel.... I'm well aware of the issues with using 9.61.3... however would prefer users are still able to use the platform features until Core gets its shit sorted out.... No offense, but please leave the "consensus issues" talk for after cp API is back up... we had a fork in Jan and yet CP is running along fine now... easy to rollback and reparse once 10.4.XX is back up and running.... but I am not ok with having users of my wallet complaining at me that they are not able to use counterparty to do sends and such due to the new release of "Counterparty 2.0" having major issues.
-
-
I still run most of the infrastructure ppl use to interact with CP, so sitting back and waiting, even 6 hours, is not something I will do... I gave warning in the dev channel of going back to 9.61.3, and waited an hour and a half for acknowledgement of any issue from the devs... I got nadda, so I went back to 9.61.3 for now.

🚨 UPDATE 🚨
There was a bug with v10.4.x that caused the node to start processing blocks extremely slowly, causing downtime for wallets and other applications. We've released a new version v10.4.6 which addresses this issue, but there was unfortunately a regression in that version too. To get it to work, you need to pass --wsgi-server=werkzeug on the CLI, or add it to your Docker Compose config. We'll be releasing a new version shortly that addresses the issue more definitively. -
None
-
-
When I close a dispenser about how long until the tokens are available? I see it says "a few blocks" is that a set number in freewallet?
-
-
ETA until the new hotfix for the hotfix is put out? Or you care to say exactly how you need to modify the docker-compose to get 10.4.6 to run? I’m still not able to communicate with the API on my node.
Tokenscan.io will stay on 9.61.3 until I’m able to bring up a 10.4 node n confirm I can communicate with the API in my nodes.
Heading into yoga class. Will check back in an hour👍🏻 -

What's so special about MINTS? Well aside from being a very appropriate ticker for the first Fairmint on Counterparty, it also happens to be one of the oldest registered assets: 2015-10-06

🚨 **v10.4.7 Hotfix Released** 🚨
There was a bug with v10.4.x that caused a large number of nodes to slow to a halt when processing transactions for UTXO support. We've released a new version v10.4.7 which completely addresses this issue and is fully backwards-compatible. If you're having issues with your node, please upgrade.

Excuse me, do you know the total amount?

It was somewhere in the 4 million range. So given each mint tops out at 1000, there are roughly 4,000 valid mints to be had.
-
Can't verify at the moment as the site is down
-
its 5 blocks
-
from what i've heard it defaults to the max mintable 1000, but probably best to set 1000 quantity in theh api call to be sure.

Best I can tell it is simply subtracted from the listed supply. I don’t know if this is written down anywhere it’s just been explained to me that way

the question is , op_return is something shit like #c_4&^ when you sign transcation

do not sign message, sign the tx

makes sense. do you know if MINTS is already minted out by any chance?

Hello, I tried setting up an xcp dispenser twice using free wallet and it didn't work both times. these are the txs; 511217f5f81ba027aee202252e2713991a83bbb8d8e477935ac6199c143ef198 94265ec64bab073780b23f88cea1218d38d8d273534964d874fcf67e43794356
-
After the first try I went to settings and then clicked on "Reset to defaults'' and then tried to set up the dispenser again. the tx went through and the tx fess were deducted and still the dispenser hasn't set up.
-
-
hrm... same story as last time.. I see that you indeed have dispener info encoded in the tx... so the tx looks fine... but counterparty 10.4.XX is not seeing that dispenser as valid for some reason.... at this point, its not really anything I can help you with... its time to elevate this to the counterparty core devs.... could be an issue with the parsing code not detecting what should be valid dispenser txs as valid

Api servers are overloaded, so they go down and up again. See if you can change api server
-
OK, thanks

tokenscan is the only server no?

Who is running the freewallet / counterparty side of thing now? J.Dog has left to do another project? (sorry, not been in touch for quite some time)
-
freewallet web can not open?
-
Go to the official website to download the latest version of the computer client
-
Original Counterparty founders are back in charge! And J-Dog is still running FreeWallet
-
There are now only 2 safe dispensers for XCP right now?
Wow, XCP shortage incoming with all of this activity.
Is the sudden boost in usage all "minting" related? -
Actually there should be more than 2, but I won’t have a clear view until API servers get back to normal
-
And the launch of the fairminting feature is bringing massive volume
-
Yeah, things looked pretty weird in freewallet. It will take a while for things to settle down.
I had no idea the fairminting thing would be so big.
It would be nice if someone could upload a quick primer on what it's all about and why it's so popular. -
This one too. It is mine: https://tokenscan.io/tx/86df04671c043d4c4547bd90e64463e277cc7a2b4f0c70453508015245db991a
-
@droplister knows about the fairmint, can check his x profile.
I don’t know but seems like everyone is hoping for the outcome of MINTS we saw with the first src-20’s KEVIN and STAMP that became valuable asf immediately.
Just my guess, no underlined knowledge. -
Thank you kindly for the replies, i see the freewallet is up to date now 🥳 Great to hear the ship is in order, long live the xcp !

Thank u!
Anyone do a video on fair mints yet? -
freewallet up to date, thanks guys

Nope 13.4M minted out of 100M

Any idea to deal with it?

Could be someone running their own private BTC + Counterparty node
-
So cannot stop him right
-
-
where can we find info about counterparty node ?
-
We will definitely see 10 ORDI = 1 XCP.

If XCP were used as a variable gas fee for most CP actions such as minting, that would be a great deterrent to excessive txs that overload the network.

i have a bitcoin core in windows. so how to connect it to counterparty node?
-
not sure if that's supported / feasible... perhaps you could ask here:
https://t.me/Counterparty_DevOfficial Counterparty Dev ChatGroup for discussion about Counterparty based development Github: https://github.com/CounterpartyXCP/ Docs: https://docs.counterparty.io/
-
Difficult on windows, better with Linux or macos https://docs.counterparty.io/docs/basics/manual-installation/Manual Installation | Counterparty
Counterparty Core can be installed on most platforms but, for now, manual installation is being tested and is only officially supported on Ubuntu 22.04 and MacOS.
-
-
It is actually an OPRETURN so you pay the tx fees only
-
Try the dev one
-
-
Can't wait to see xcp back above $100 which is just the start imo. All time highs will be broke
-
Anyway for freewallet user I figured out you don’t need the api on server side in settings, just use api to generate transaction to sign so maybe the server can be more healthy
-
I just wake up gonna mint moar
-
Almost 40% of xcp hasn't moved in 5 years so the supply is locked up
-
Any tracker to see how much MINTS is minted ?

We discovered a non-deterministic bug in the fair minting logic, and we're going to have to release another patch version (v10.5.0). This bug is triggered esp. by large number API calls, so many local nodes are running just fine. However api.counterparty.io is still (mostly) down. We're working on getting it back up ASAP. It's also under very, very heavy load from all of the minting activity (😊). AddrIndexRs (🤮) is buckling. (We're going to kill that component in the next release. 🔥) -

How far is it now? I don't remember where I saw it.
-
Can I use a BTC full node for minting?
-
yes

Manual Installation | Counterparty
Counterparty Core can be installed on most platforms but, for now, manual installation is being tested and is only officially supported on Ubuntu 22.04 and MacOS.
-
In other news im doing an auction on Oct 28th @nftauctions submission form is pinned
-
Still no counterparty support for Ordpool. Is there now some Javascript/TypeScript library available? 🙂
-
how is the progress of "mints"?
-
-
API up?
-
-
-
-
-
-
In fact, some people are batch mint.
-
with node ?
-
They built their own nodes.
-
And we can only watch.
-
BTNS ran on broadcasts…. So much less overhead than an issuance like stamps were doing…. Could do thousands of broadcasts in a single block without much delay.. Now mints insert even more records than issuances did, so the issues are magnified🤷🏻♂️
Neway, I’m working on xchain platform based on BTNS n the cp core evs are working on making CP a bit more stable…. It all progress🤷🏻♂️ -
where can we check how much is minted ?
-
Maybe 20%?
-
There shouldn't be much difference.
-
They just copying the op_return data into txs…. N bypassing the need for an API…. No conspiracies…. Just devs doing dev stuff… I’ve done 2 mints too busy working to keep stuff up to worry about minting😜
-
😐
-
-
-
What does this mean? Please explain it in detail.
-
-
-
Yes… but it makes no sense to have a token platform embedded inside of another token platform…. BTNS was just an experiment to prove the concept that I was working with….. I since pivoted around January to making BTNS turn into its own separate platform independent from counterparty…. XChain platform… almost done😊
The counterparty core devs should be free to take counterparty in the direction they want… 👍🏻 -

Maybe you should observe this address.
-
All the time in mint.
-
-
Disgraceful.
-
This is just a load issue on the public API, not a conspiracy. This individual is probably running their own counterparty node and therefore has an API locally. You can do the same
-
Huge increase in demand overnight, I am sure public API runners are doing their best to scale up to meet the new demand
-
-
They ruined it. Spend 4-6 hours yesterday to manage and got 10-15 valid mints and these guy does thousand of mints in minutes.
-
-
Yes, this has been unanimously resented by the China community, and it has never been so United.

Boot up a node...
-
Hopefully more people in the China community will help out by running their own nodes and hosting their own APIs
-
You can even give back to the community by paying to host a public API in a cloud environment, or set up for self-hosting at home.
-
It's a very good idea, but if you think about it with your head, the time required for node configuration is enough to cast 10000000000000 for these addresses.
-
Couple hours. And 2 tb HD.
-
I hear you're frustrated that you did not spin up one before this feature went live, but there is so much more to come. Now is a great time to try it out
-
I am not the only one who is disappointed, and the whole China community is disappointed. I have never seen an operation that pulls my hips more than this.
-
-
Here's what I got to run my node. It's overkill but i like that it's small and quiet, I don't have a ton of space at home. I also bought a separate 2TB SSD to slot into the drive bay.

If you already are running a bitcoin node, spinning up counterparty is just a few minutes

also you'll want to symlink your current bitcoind storage to the place where counterparty-core is expecting it. A symlink is easier than trying to set it up to override just the bitcoind storage location, it expects it all under the same parent directory

A month-long activation preceded “MINTS” so plenty of time to prepare. “MINTS” was also launched by a community member on their own. There was no coordination with devs or anything. Not sure what the problem is. Remember when Ordinals launched? No real tooling existed either. Just the way things go. It’s also the reason why there is asymmetric upside if you’re willing to do the work
-
Still possible to mint with freewallet?
-
-
We’re finished in the Chinese community! Done!
-
They show up out of the wood-work, do a bunch of $3 fair mints and just assume that devs have to work around the clock for their bags. Who even knows if the devs minted any themselves. Btw, it does actually seem like the devs are working around the clock… for FREE

.expected directory structure - so you could also set COUNTERPARTY_DOCKER_DATA to your bitcoind storage location and my guess is that would work well, then counterparty will just store its own data in bitcoind's storage location. In the example below I have the COUNTERPARTY_DOCKER_DATA environment variable set to ~/storage, which is symlinked to the 2TB SSD.
vectorconfetti@vectorconfetti:~/storage$ tree -d

📯 Update 📯
Exciting times! Transaction volumes are absolutely enormous. We've scaled out the public API but those nodes are now having trouble keeping up with the blockchain. This is why we spent so much effort improving code quality and performance 25x over the past 10 months before moving on to feature development. We're going to work on optimizing performance further of course. In the meantime, you can run your own node, and if it has very fast storage you should be able to keep up. If you want to YOLO it and use the API of a node that's behind Bitcoin Core, you can run with --force (at your own risk!) v10.5.0, with a patch for the non-determinism, should be out shortly. -

yes. I have my bitcoin node bundled with my counterparty node, but I am thinking if you do the following, assuming you are on linux and bitcoind is running with the standard configuration, it should work. I don't know if counterparty is assuming bitcoind is on standard ports, but you can override the ports it's using here:
https://github.com/CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-core/blob/1b2ac23c6191ae6038e7e5a2c25f6cd12eb6c400/docker-compose.yml#L39
1. make a parent directory (IE mkdir ~/storage)
2. make this symlink:
ln -s ~/.bitcoin ~/storage/counterparty-docker-data
When you run counterparty, run it like this
COUNTERPARTY_DOCKER_DATA=/home/$USER/storage docker compose --profile mainnet up -d
Otherwise you can just follow the normal install instructions
